Grant has been such a help to me with my helmet and accessories! He helped me purchase just the right shield, mask 😷 for Covid and even put it on my helmet!!! Scot helped fix another issue and assisted setting up parts of it! As I walked in the door, young, adorable Henry welcomed me as I sauntered in! These guys are wonderful!!! Went shopping with my wife for women’s hockey gear and the store was empty. No employee even said hi to us until we were ready to check out with a helmet and stick. At one point, one of the 3 employees was literally standing there clapping his hands. Very unimpressed with the customer service.

I am a first time hockey parent and learning to skate myself. Skates I purchased elsewhere in the past hurt my arches. Had a difficult time finding some that wouldn’t hurt, but finally found some and no pain at all! Can’t say enough positive things about Hokem and Mike. Very informative, helpful and patient. Mike even honored the Company’s return policy that allows you to return skates within 30 days even if they have been baked (and no questions asked and no guilt trip). This allowed me to try another model, which ended up being the right ones.

Thanks so much Mike & Josh (salesmen and goalies)! We really appreciated all of your help and expertise outfitting our 10 year-old goalie. We live in a rural area without any hockey shops and have been forced to buy (ill-fitting) gear online. Mike helped us figure out which of our gear was adequate, and which gear needed replaced - no pressure tactics to buy! It was like getting a private lesson on goalie gear 101 -- and I cant say thank you enough! They have a machine that will scan your foot to assure you get the best fit of your next pair of skates.

The people who work in the store are so nice, they will help with anything possible. I am glad there are still people who are like this. Do what they love. Love what they do. Me and my family stop in almost every year because we love it so much. Always willing to help customers. They have such a wide variety of sticks. I just love the store so much.

Came in to purchase skates for recreational use. There were 7 employees working and 1 was helping a customer when we arrived. We had to request assistance after waiting for several minutes. At that time, someone β€œhelped” us, but wasn’t overly helpful. He answered questions, but didn’t offer any advice or expert information. When we picked out our skates, they sharpened them in store, which was great, but we waited over 45 minutes and then had to go ask for the skates. At that point, we were told that they had been done for quite a while, but they didn’t know who the skates belonged to. There had be no more than a few customers in the store the entire time we were there, while there were numerous employees. In general, the products are good, but our service and experience was less than stellar. It took us over 2 hours to select and get fitted for hockey skates, and most of that was unnecessary wait time from poor and inattentive customer service.

This is the only location now to get Goalie equipment that has a wide selection. The store has different brands so can try on mutiple different equipment set ups to see what works best. Josh, the goalie specialist, has a wealth of knowledge and was a great help. He took a lot of time to help us with a full set up and with making multiple adjustments. I asked a lot of questions about different brands and pros/cons and he graciously answered them all without being irritated which was fantastic. Thanks!

Ended up shipping the wrong pads, I returned them and they upgraded me to a better set up pads to make it right. I will definitely come back many times.

Like the online store better than the box one. Did not have a large selection. Went in looking for a practice jersey for my son and the only ones I could find were the high end ones and not the ten to twenty dollar ones you can get online. And the sales people were all too busy standing around talking to each other to help so we just left without buying anything.

I walked in and there was nobody at the skate sharpening booth and employees were just kinda wandering around, not noticing a new customer. Odd since there was only 1 other customer in the store. Also I had asked for a skate sharpening with my copper skate replacements and they didn’t do them. In addition, coppers are now $5 each which is absolutely absurd. Never should be paying that much per copper

I am brand new to hockey, and a hockey stick was the one thing I wasnt loaned from friends to get me started playing, so I needed to buy a stick. I went to Total Hockey in Bloomington and was blown away by Kevin the Assistant Manager. I walked into the store a little before 8pm (they were closing at 9), and Kevin gave me the next 40ish minutes of his time helping me pick out a stick, explaining different attributes of different sticks, and making sure to show me which sticks would fit my college student budget of as inexpensive as possible. He was extremely friendly and very patient with my many questions, and he also took time to make sure I had been loaned everything I needed to start playing (the one other thing I needed was a protective cup - he recommended I go to a general sporting goods store to get one less expensive than what they carried. I appreciated that so much, as it isnt often people recommend you buy anything other than what they have). I never felt pressured to buy anything, and was so glad Kevin respected my limited budget. He even took 5-10 minutes to tape my stick for me, giving pointers on how to tape a stick as he went. I was so impressed - I expected that as the assistant manager he would need to attend to something more important than taping a stick, and would have a sales associate handle it, but he very willingly and happily did it for me. I truly cant wait to go back to Total Hockey - super cool store, and as a newcomer to the sport I was well taken care of.
