I live within 1 mile of another independent BMW mechanic, and a BMW dealer. I live about 10 minutes from a second independent BMW shop. Ive heard some not so good things about the one close to home so I decided against using that shop. I did some research and came across Cooper Autoworks and liked what I saw. I like the fact that they were so highly rated by other customers so I decided to give them a try, even though they are 45 miles from my house.I converted my 98 BMW from an automatic to a stick shift. After getting it all done, I had a clutch issue that I could not resolve on my own, so I took it to Cooper Autoworks. Calvin and Kelsey are the nicest, most genuine people that truly care about customer service. Ive only ever taken a car to a mechanic one other time in my life. Ive always maintained and repaired my cars on my own. So, I was pretty apprehensive about someone else doing the work. Kelsey and Calvin were both great about answering questions before doing the work.Calvin did a great job diagnosing the problem and fixing it. He took his time and explained exactly what the issue was and also explained my options. Im on a tight budget, and he worked with me to figure out the best option for my money. He did a great job fixing the issue. If you dont know, Kelsey is active in outreach, getting kids involved in auto mechanics. When I picked my car up, Kelsey spent at least 30 minutes with my 10 year old gear head daughter, that helps me work on cars. She showed her around the shop, let her climb around on one of their race cars and showed her all of the other cars they had there. My daughter loves Kelsey!Once I got the car home, I discovered a problem that was associated with the transmission. Nothing Calvin did at all. It was my mistake while installing the 5 speed. Even though it wasnt his problem, Calvin took the time to have a couple phone conversations and emails to help me work through the problem.I highly recommend using Cooper Autoworks for service and repair of your BMW. The level of work and customer service is amazing. Their prices are much cheaper than the dealer and other BMW shops that I looked into.
Great customer service. Disclosed various potential problems and if any of the cars needed additional services. Gave great tips for finding the right ride.
I honestly don’t know where to start. They guys have great customer service skills. They return calls very quickly and are always friendly! I had to call them a million times dealing with my warranty company and they never made me feel like I was a bother. They diagnosed my vehicle very quickly and got it repaired in a timely manner. They are very reasonably priced. This was my first time having to have my X5 repaired and I never plan on taking it anywhere else for repairs. I wish I could give these guys 100 stars!
Just had my second oil change with them and just like last time my experience was great! When I called to schedule my oil change they were able to get me in the next day. Once I arrived they were able to quickly get my car in and got the oil change and inspection done in a timely manner and fair price. From the inspection they did notice some maintenance items that will need to be done here soon enough and brought them to my attention and are working on getting me quotes as we speak. All the staff were very informative and friendly. 10/10 A+ will be back and recommend.
Great service. If you have a BMW, take it to Cooper Autoworks, you will not be disappointed.
I made an appointed to get my summer tires mounted. When I did that I informed them that I have staggered wheels and tires, and how to match them up. I have had issues with this in the past at other shops. I also had them change my oil. They tore a sidewall on one of my tires but refunded me the cost for a new tire even tough I had about 7K miles on them. I would have been happy with 50%. They did miss match the tires and rims when they did mount them, but when I told them about it, they fixed it with no questions and rebalanced all of my wheels for me.
I have a 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible and they are notorious for having a design flaw on the dashboard that causes significant separation. It would cost about $2000 to replace the dash. They solved my problem for $270.Other places I called said the separating seam could not be repaired. And the few who thought it could be resealed were afraid to work on it because the seam came upon the passenger side air bag.The guys at Cooper were exceptional. I sent them pictures and video of my problem plagued dashboard. They scanned user forums and did research online to find the best solution and had a plan in place when I arrived. They cut no corners. They removed the air bag, resealed the dash where it was separated and reinstalled the air bag properly
Kelsey and Calvin are great! Sold them a BMW M3 a couple weeks ago. They are professional, courteous, passionate about cars, and overall great people to work with. Thank you!
Our 2011 328i Xdrive developed a horendous engine noise at 157,000 miles, and we had Cooper check it out first. There were some bolt failures in the cam gears, along with associated other issues. Calvin informed us of a BMW Service Bulletin, which covered this repair for an additional 10 years beyond the warranty. We towed it to the dealer, and the repair was 100% covered, at about $6200.00 dealer rates. Cooper Autoworks could have done the repair themselves and charged us, but they did the honest thing which helped us tremendously. We just had it back for some other maintenance, and they have our business for life!
Calvin is an amazing guy to work with! He knows a ton about BMWs, (and other brands) has very fair pricing, and most importantly - will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy. Do yourself a favor and get a quote with him before driving over to a dealer!
Calvin replaced my starter on my 2006 BMW 325i which basically required taking apart the engine. Not only was he hundreds of dollars less expensive than independent body shops around town, he came to me and saved me a tow charge! Highly recommended!
Great place
I hated my 2010 BMW 535i! It was riding rough, the idling was rough, it loss power upon acceleration! I took it to Autohaus in St. Louis and they could not find the problem. Yet they SPECIALIZE in BMW. What a joke! The only problem they found was my negative battery cable was going out. I absolutely nothing to do with how the car was running. I was so upset that my dream car was a total waste of money! I talked to Calvin at Copper Autoworks and explained the symptoms they car had and I also told him about the negative battery cable. He took the time and research the symptoms and suggesting walnut blasting.I was on my way to enjoy a 7 day cruise and Calvin said he would do the work while I was gone and safely store my car. When I got back in town, my car was safe and sound! My car started up right with no problem! Before it would take about 5 times for my car to start due to the negative cable going out. WHEN I DROVE OFF I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! It felt like I was driving a different car!!!! I emailed Calvin right away and here’s my exact words….” OMG…what a difference!!! It drives like a totally different car! I’m liking the dam thing a bit NOW!!!! lol THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!” I’m so thankful I found Calvin! He’s good, reasonable, honest, and very knowledgeable!I have found my “go to” BMW specialist!
Competent, courteous, great value.
