I’ve just recently moved down here and was searching for a place to get my tire fixed and I’m glad I came here. I fully believe I found my mechanic shop down here. Glad I came here, got a fair price, fast service and amazing customer service.

Sam was very friendly and helpful. It was the first time I felt respected in an auto shop. Sam explained my cars needs in detail and treated me as an equal. I understood the what was being done and WHY it was being done to my vehicle. The service was quick, the job was done amazingly. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience will definitely be back when my car is in need :) 20/10 would recommend!

These people took great care of my family and I. My truck died driving to San Diego from Phoenix, and these people went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, even coming into the shop on a Saturday because I had kids with me to get us on our way back to Phoenix. Cost was more than reasonable, and Im not even part of the community. Highly recommend to anyone.

Best experience Ive ever had in 30 plus years of going to mechanics. Im restoring an old Firebird Ive had for years. So glad I found Sunshine. I was nervous going to a new shop, but their reviews are excellent so I gave them a try. Couldnt be happier with the service and price. Sam went the extra mile, was very knowledgeable and told me everything I need to know to get my car in top shape. After the repair he did now my drives better than ever. And he lifted the car from the correct jacking points, unlike other shops Ive been to. The labor cost was on the low end of what other places are charging. Best price and service you will find, and I called around a lot before finding Sunshine. Ive been to shops all over the county and this is by far the best. As soon as I talked to Sam I knew this would be a good place to get my car fixed, he actually listens and cares about the cars, and it shows. I will definitely be going back. Highly recommended.

Sam is the sweetest and nicest person I have dont business with. He is straight up honest and the work this shop performs is outstanding.

Talked to Sam who was very knowledgeable, helpful and honest. I was inquiring about a transmission fluid exchange and instead of just giving a quote and moving on he inquired more about the issues I was having and tried to get to the root of the issue, he was upfront about that the fluid exchange is unlikely to solve my issue and even gave me alternative options on what I could do to solve my problem. In the future if I have motor vehicular concerns I will definitely be coming here.

Great experience. I took a used car for a pre-purchase inspection. They checked everything in the car and told me everything that needed repairs or maintenance. At the end they gave me a very detailed report that describes the state of every part of the car. Great service, I would definitely come back.

There’s many repair shops out there and if you’re like me, you’re probably wary of many of them wondering if they are actually gonna do what you pay them for or if they’re gonna try to rip you off. Not here, Sam was very helpful through the process and with a short conversation with him, he is knowledgeable and is upfront about the costs. Called these guys up for a quote and paid exactly what they quoted me for. Had them remove my old struts with new ones along with new mounts. Sam did a test drive after the install to make sure the repair was good to go. Now my car drives like she did the first day I got her. Very happy with this shop. I have some work that my car is going to need and I’m most likely coming back here to get it done! Thanks guys!

The fellas over at sunshine are a breath of fresh air in the industry they work in. They kept me up to date on the status of my repairs, were transparent about what repairs couldn’t and shouldn’t wait, and even helped me do a little bit of maintenance myself when I was a low on cash. Sam and the gang helped me to find the perfect car for my purposes by providing transparent prepurchase inspections which saved me a TON of money/ headaches. Love this business, honest work, and service oriented.

Sunshine Auto Repair is my new favorite mechanic. I went there for a pre-purchase inspection on a used car, and they gave me an honest, thorough report for a very good price. The car dealer posted a negative review after he lost my sale due to the inspection (glad it saved me from purchasing a bad car!) but dont listen to the negative review, these guys are legitimate! They were referred to me by a very trusted friend and I will definitely go back. Sam and Mike were professional and patient and spent time going through a very comprehensive inspection for me. My entire experience was absolutely amazing I cannot say enough about the treatment that I received. I had a new engine installed in my vehicle. Sam went above and beyond and repaired minor things and just did all the little things at no charge I cannot believe what a wonderful experience I had! Just 6 months prior to my visit to sunshine auto I had the worst experience I overpaid and repaired something that did not even need to be repaired so this experience was absolutely transparent I felt safe beimg a woman that needed car care, I did not feel like I was being taken advantage of or talked down to. Sam explained EVERYTHING, in detail. I will ALWAYS recommend them. I chose them to begin with because of their excellent YELP reviews. My car is PERFECT now!

Sam and OJ were totally awesome at Sunshine auto repair. They diagnosed and fixed an engine light problem that other dealership service centers in El Cajon would refuse to work on. They also installed a brake controller in, on time and cheaper than other service centers. Sams knowledge base, friendly customer service, and honesty is why I keep coming back. After moving back to El Cajon in 2019 I decided that despite using the same repair shop for over 20 years I needed to find one closer to home. So as my Honda Accord developed a starter problem I started doing my due diligence reading reviews and came across Sunshine Auto Repair. The reviews were very favorable in every way so I decided to bring my car to them. What happens next is something we should all expect from a repair shop and it starts with Sam at the service office. Not only did Sam make the experience calming but his knowledge and thorough diagnostics leaving no stone unturned exhibits what you want from a mechanic. Getting the issue right is half the battle and to have the care for a customer’s well being once the job is done is extraordinary. It’s that added dedication that makes a difference when you might find yourself stranded because the problem really wasn’t fixed. Sam’s dedication to his customers needs is so welcoming when you don’t tend to trust mechanics. The reviews are real I can attest to that. Now as far as price I can’t say it’s the cheapest because I really don’t know for sure to say that but for the value, care and service it is worth that piece of mind. Very bad costumer service, this is the third time I have to go back because of the poor they did. I am very disappointed with them. They have extremely high prices and even worse customer service. Wouldn’t recommend. They charged intensely high prices on simple work.

Got great service... all my questions answered honestly and completely. Mechanics were quick and not messy. I was treated like an old friend. I felt I could ask any question about my car and its service - no matter how silly - and it would be answered with honesty and respect. I like that.

My cars steering wheel quit working and I was lucky enough to have been right across the street from then when it happened. I came in and asked if I could get help and, without a second thought, someone came across the street to help me. Unfortunately I didnt get his name, but he was incredibly helpful. He looked at everything he could, gave me a rundown of the problem, advice on what I should do, answered literally every question I came up with, and didnt charge me for his time or anything. Im pretty sure he was getting ready to close up, as well. Showed me great things about their business ethic, but also this mans character. Go here, they deserve your business.

I recommend this shop based on working with Sam and his honesty and integrity.Visited the new store and talked with Sam. The dump that Sweetwoods was is now remodeled with a nice customer area with more windows, central HVAC, proper lighting. Much more comfortable if you need to wait. Looking much better!

Sam always takes care of me and my moms cars! For a long time now.

They take the time to explain what is wrong with my car to the best they can from the first inspection. if they find more things wrong they tell me about it and always let me know the cost of something before they start it. I know that I can trust them and that they back their work. they are also friendly and do all they can to help me.

This place is a joke. They are super expensive and rude as hell. I asked the guy how much for a 2008 BMW and he said Eh, 90 bucks. I asked why so much and why is it double than the price of my Civic. He replied Eh, Its european. I said and my Honda is an import as well. Whats the difference? He had no explanation. And he wouldnt do it unless i had the form the DMV mailed me. I called the DMV and they explained that all i need was my registration and the man was being just plain lazy. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!

They use to be great, idk what happened. Theyre rude.

I have been going there for years, and today they ran a smog check that was not needed since the check engine light was on. They then charged me for the smog, told me I needed to pay $110 for a diagnostic on the check engine, then they will let me know how much I need to pay for all the repairs AFTER the $110 diagnostic fee. I will be taking my car elsewhere from now on.
