Hollander Moving and Storage is a wonderful company. They have great drivers, very skilled packers adn quality loaders. They know what they are doing and it is cost effective. Communications are wonderful and the connect personal are very knowledgeable and friendly to deal with. They return calls quickly. A great company to work with. This is my second move with Hollander.
We moved from Chicago to Denver in August 2021. They were the only company that would do a video inventory of our apartment. We also had an offsite storage unit that needed some packing. There were 3 teams involved - the estimator and office support, the packing team and the actual movers. We were happy with all 3 of them. Everything was done in an efficient and professional way. They packed everything very carefully - only one small disaster happened prior to the actual move. It may have been a bit pricey but moving long distance is something most people dont do often and theres no point trying to get a low ball price. I would have no hesitation recommending Hollander.
From start to finish these guys were awesome. The price never changed from our quote and unlike some of the reviews we heard from other movers, there were no hidden fees. They moved us from house to 3rd floor apartment across the U.S. We were extremely happy!
Everyone- from Roy our driver, to our moving coordinator Rebecca, the warehouse staff and Chris who did our estimate - they were all friendly, patient with our questions and went out of the way to be helpful. Highly recommend. They made the physical part of our move to very smoothly.

I would actually give 4.5 stars, as one piece of my furniture was damaged. Still, everyone I dealt with was very professional and helpful, and things went as promised. I hope never to move again! But if I were moving in the Chicago area, I would definitely use Hollander again.

All Hollander personnel were personable, helpful, prompt, professional and competent - ESPECIALLY your representative in the Chicago area (Ben), who shepherded me throughout the evolution. Your local subcontractors were equally adept in their performance. To reiterate my first Review: 1-Ive moved locally, cross-country, and overseas in my 26 years in the Coast Guard perhaps a dozen times. Even during those moves - planned, funded and executed through government contract, this personal move was by far the easiest; and 2 - I HAVE NO GOOGLE Account, so I hope this gets to the appropriate place. From the time I called for a quote to delivering our stuff to our new home, I was at such ease with them. Very responsive, accommodating (which is tough with us as things kept changing!). Our stuff was delivered earlier than expected, the just made the moving experience that much easier.
Thank you again Hollander for assisting us with our cross country move. Everything from the quote by Chris, the organization from Becca, and the white glove service from Jack and his Chicago and Florida based crews was top notch and more than we could have asked for. The whole move was very transparent with Chris and Becca doing an amazing job coordinating schedules and being flexible to our needs during the transition. Jack was also amazing - punctual, polite, and kept us in the loop on everything during the packing, the drive, and the unloading. If we ever find ourselves back in Chicagoland we will definitely look to Hollander for our moving needs.
Everything went very well with our move because of Hollander and their representative that assisted us, Chris. He was there to assist us, and he showed us how to get things done including how to pack most of our own items. We only had the kitchen packed by the movers, which helped us a lot as there is never enough time. As of right now, nothing has turned up damaged, and we are not aware of any missing items. Chris kept his word and followed through with everything he promised. I would highly recommend Hollander for your move!

Because of their long time relationship with our family and their dependable service we never seek an outside bid for their service. With this move Dave Hollander came to our home and personally appraised our move. He was there for us whenever I called and encouraged me to call him anytime. I had a question and I called him on a weekend and he picked up and answered my question. I had an overall positive experience with Hollander moving from upstate NY to the UK recently. All the people I worked with are very professional, efficient and responsive. Great communication. Both pickup and delivery are on-time, on schedule, and relatively stress-free for me. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of 2 issues I experienced: 1) the estimate was $2k lower than the actual final cost; 2) some minor damages caused by packing issues. Overall, I would recommend Hollander for international moves.
I did not use this company but I had a horrible confrontation with their movers on May 19. I live in an apartment building. It is fairly large. The street in front of the building is narrow and its hard for cars and trucks (and people) to get in and out. Movers are supposed to use the open alley with a ramp to move items in and out of the building. When the movers came to this building on May 19 before 8:00 a.m. they parked directly in front of the NO PARKING sign and walked through two glass entrance doors in at the front of the building. When the movers moved items out o the building they also used this door and the handicapped ramp reserved for tenants and visitors.I mentioned this to the movers and my answer was F...K you. Mind your own business! Well be out in 15 minutes. There were more ugly words and the 15 minutes was actually more like 3 hours. The movers never moved the truck behind the building to do their job. The alley entrance was clear and spacious. It didnt block traffic. There was a ramp to easy move in through the double wide garage door. The movers blocked the elevator with the items being moved. They blocked the hallways. The entrance was blocked. I contacted Hollander about this and was told that movers often had to use the No Parking zone because they needed to get in and out of the building quickly. Well, it would have been a lot quicker, faster and safer to use the designated entrance at the back of the building. I guess once I suggested the movers go move they didnt want to admit they were wrong so all they could do was swear and make threats and waste a whole lot of time.

As a General Manager of a Storage Facility, I am here to assist customers who have life events that happen to them. And, I am here to give them WOW! Customer Service. From time to time, customers share their experiences with movers or moving companies. Unfortunately, this move yesterday, 7/1/21, was not a good one. The customer felt intimidated, scared and was clearly upset as she watched her items being destroyed right in front of her eyes. Yes, she took pictures and one of the movers said she needed to stay at least 3 feet away from him. ??? This customer had plumbers onsite at the time of the move. They stayed because they saw what was hapenning and were fearful that more things would be broken. As I understand that there are always 3 sides to every story, I have a hard time understanding why personal property would be dropped, thrown or given no care. When paying a moving company or movers, you want your items to be handled with the utmost care. But, then there was yesterday. I feel bad for my customer and due to this conversation this morning, I will not refer Hollander International Storage & Moving to any customers in the forseen future. Thank you.
We lived at the same address for over 30 years. Despite efforts to de clutter, when it came time to move we had a big move to accomplish. The team at Hollander: Chris, Rebecca, Tony and his crew all stepped up to get the job done. There were several twists and turns during the move, and the team responded immediately. We also had one small claim, and United resolved promptly and reasonably. Moving is hard, but Hollander does their best to take the stress out of the process. I would definitely advise anyone contemplating a move and moving company to speak with Hollander before finalizing a decision.
Hollander helped us pack, load, move and unpack the many pieces of selling a family home of 30 years. Furniture went to 3 different areas of the country. The Hollander employees worked extremely hard to make each aspect of the move work efficiently, with care and patience within the month.
I want to highly recommend Hollander, especially for out of state moves, if you want someone who handles all the details, and if you are under any sort of time crunch. They did an amazing job from the initial quote, to the moving coordinator Rebecca who was always available to answer questions, to the actual movers who were on time and professional. I had to move in a hurry and didnt have time to price compare - Im sure there are some cheaper options but frankly based on my experience I wouldnt risk having a bad experience for what is already a stressful and difficult process. I packed all the small stuff myself but they unassembled all my furniture, put padding around it, and moved it down 8 flights of stairs in Chicago (4 story walk up). Although the move to Miami took nearly 10 days, everything showed up and nothing was damaged which for me, was priceless.
My family recently relocated from Chicago to Italy in December 2019 and after interviewing multiple moving companies we chose Hollander Moving. Their honesty and communication clearly out shined the other companies, something that was very important to me as we were shipping our most prized possessions halfway around the world. Hollander worked with me on the quote and size of the load to ensure it fit my budget and timeline. They also assured me that the company in Italy who was going to complete the delivery of my shipment was top notch which is something I had not originally thought would be important but clearly it was. The Hollander staff was amazing and packed my things very carefully and respected my every request throughout the packing process. And the Italian company that delivered my things were equally as amazing, professional and honest. Overall, I would highly recommend Hollander Moving Company to all of my friends and family.
They were responsive and helpful from the beginning (estimate) until the end (final delivery of furniture). It’s quite a process moving across country and they guided me through with great information and timely updates. While I really have no interest in moving again anytime soon; if I did, it would be with these guys.
Overall, a good experience with this company. The binding estimate they provided was the most accurate of those I received. The estimator and driver were very professional. I asked the company to pack fragile items. The packing crew did a good job although a couple of items were damaged and I still need to follow up.Update: I filed a claim for the damaged items. The response was very prompt and I received a satisfactory settlement.

Hollander did a great job on our move across the country. They were hard workers, professional and wrapped the furniture really well. I was pleased with their quote system, they were less expensive and had a smaller delivery window than the other quotes I got which was important.
It would be nice to know when thieves are handling our things. Not everything made it to our destination. Our household items were systematically picked through and repacked before being sent on to our end location. Zero stars. I do NOT recommend this company. We are completely sickened and heartbroken over the loss of our sentimental, priceless to us, things. SHAME ON YOU!

Chris was a very good judge of the cost of our move according to the weight (load on the van) and the amount of packing that was needed. I had a fabulous crew of 6 or 7 guys who moved 59 boxes and 5 rooms of furniture into storage on a very hot day at the end of September. In the middle of December on a bitter cold day, they delivered everything to my new home! The guys were friendly, very courteous and very professional! I have no hesitation to recommend them!
We had a great experience with Hollander Moving. Everyone we dealt with was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We had never made a long distance move before. Our concierge was able to answer all our questions and provide useful tips to make our move as easy as possible. Our driver did an amazing job of inventory and packing the truck. There are many things we could report on positively. For instance the sales person was very helpful, making great suggestions and gave us the feeling that we would have support during the whole process. The support was good but did not quite reach the level we thought was promised. Packing, loading and unloading went very well. Compared to a company we used for an earlier move with a different company the move with Hollander International was a dream.

I dont usually write reviews, but the moving service far exceeded my expectations:1) The packers took great care packing the boxes and nothing broke;2) I have a long narrow winding driveway, The truck would not fit in. The drivers and the local team loaded the furniture and boxes onto a pickup truck and drove the pickup to my house so they could unload it.3) The team assembled the smaller items perfectly and a specialist handled a large glass table that was crated.4) The moving coordinator was both professional and caring, He made sure that any small hitches were minimized.5) There were no unpleasant billing suprises. The final bill was equal to the estimate.There is no question that I will use them again when I next have to move
Long-distance move from IL to AZ, worried about all the issues that could occur. Received estimates from a broker and 2 movers, all within the same weight estimate. Both movers were in the same ballpark, but the important thing to me was solid move and unload dates. I chose Hollander as I was the most comfortable with their communications and process up to then, and ultimately, you have to take that step to commit. They came thru 100% from there. All involved, from front/back office to the crews and the driver, were great to deal with. I would recommend them to anybody that is moving within or out of Illinois.

The best thing ever. Move was excellent. Large lego models moved with care and arrived in near perfect condition! We are delighted.
The best! Very nice and helpful people. Just be aware, that if you exceed certain weight, you will be charged a lot on top of the normal price - something we were not informed ahead while filling up our crate. And when we were encouraged to bring even more stuff to fill all the free space, being charged about $1200 on top of the expected, was real surprise. In our case, ordering the whole container would be cheaper and also we could fit 10x more stuff.

We used hollander last year to move our household goods to our new condo. They has a day to move the furniture, but they were very effiecent and moved everything in less than 4 hours. They were highly organized, very careful in packing things and very neat. The price was more than competitive and I would highly recommend using them again.
Moving 3 times in 2 ½ years is not something Lynn would recommend to anyone. For us, it would have been impossible without the assistance of Chris and his crews at Hollander Moving and Storage. We’ve done home-to-home, home-to-condo and condo-to-condo moves. In each situation, we found Hollander’s staff to be professional, organized and efficient. They packed my family portraits safely and carefully. They suggested ways that I could save money. And they moved the furniture, cartons and boxes as if they were moving their own valuables. In addition, I have used Hollander’s storage facilities. These I found to be safe, secure and reasonably priced. And they’ve gone out of their way to allow me access to my stored belongings. I have found Hollander’s people and services to be Top=Notch. Call and ask for Chris. He will make the entire process as pleasant as moving can be.

Hollander Moving in Chicago as part of United Van Lines was absolutely amazing with my move. The quote was accurate with no surprise pricing, and they were the only company that guaranteed delivery on a certain date. Pickup and delivery was perfect and everyone arrived on time. All items came in perfect condition, and Kevin Kambool put together my estimate super quickly and accurately since everything fit into the crate with little room to spare. Diane Mayzure was a great Relocation Specialist and kept me up-to-date with everything so I never felt stressed during the 2 weeks between pickup and delivery 1000 miles away.I have moved a lot and rarely have a perfect experience with movers/moving companies - this was the first, so it was worth writing a review. Hollander is a great company. When we moved they did everything they could to make the move simple and smooth. We needed to empty our condo on a Friday and store everything over the weekend for a Monday move in to our new house. No problem! We had a full storage unit that needed to be picked up. No problem, again! Everyone we dealt with was professional and courteous. Could not ask for better service. Hollander coordinated my international move (Canada to USA) and despite some initial communication challenges between the central office and the local partner at the origin, the move was handled very well. Packing and pick up was very efficient yet careful and the same for the delivery. Border crossing had no issues or questions and it is because Hollander and their partner were prepared and checked all the paperwork ahead of time, and the CBP knows what to expect from their drivers, so good reputation counts. Job well done!

On time, professional, well-mannered. My property was treated like it was their own. The men worked fast but carefully. They took care to wrap what needed extra protection. They gave me advice as they unloaded their truck about placement of our furniture. The scheduler,Rebecca, was very considerate of our needs and did everything she could to meet our needs.

Excellent service.They came on time to move all our boxes and furniture.We moved from Mount prospect Illinois to Charlotte NC. We packed all our things for the first time and not a single thing was broken when they delivered. They are very flexible for changes. We had to change our dates 3 times and they accommodated well. The delivery was also on time. They even accomadated our request for delayed delivery when we were still finalizing apartment in new place.
