My gears needed some adjustment on my Specialized mountain bike. I called and spoke with Mike to explain the problem and he told me to come in so he could diagnose the problem. It was a simple adjustment and I appreciate his honesty. He could have easily told me it needed a full overhaul or something like that. He also gave me good advice about my tires having mold and that I should replace them. I will definitely go back!
I went there looking for a shock pump adapter, what I got when I entered was the least enthusiastic sales team Ive ever known. They dont want to answer questions, they dont want to make a sale, they dont seem to even want to be working there. Gave them a second chance a week later asking about brake services and it was the same deal...you can try and see for yourself, two stars is being generous, I will not give them any more of my money.
Have tried giving this shop several chances because it’s the closest to me, but every time the workers don’t really care about helping you. Got a bunch of work and tune up done to a bike of mine and it took 2 weeks just for half the stuff to not even be fully fixed.
I whent to Elk Grove bike shop to have them replace my broken bottom headset bearing and to give my bike a tune up as well. After it was done a day later I noticed that there was a contaminated disk brake and that the people there installed the wrong spare parts into my headset cousing it to have a lot more added friction wile turning. They never truly fixed my bike and just added more problems for me so hopefully I can have this resolved elsewhere.
Called asking for information/part but person that answered was not helpful. He didnt seem interested in putting in the work to assist... Called another bike shop (downtown Sac) and they took the time to look up the part I needed which is how it should be if youre in the business of making money and long term customers..
The young man that helped me out was a very professional and helpful guy. Helped me get my wheel replaced and repaired with a very limited inventory and a extremely quick trun around time of less than 10 minutes! Would definitely return for the selection of bike products but Ill save money using YouTube for my own repairs! Kinda pricey, good experience overall though.
Fast Service, Flat tires got it fix in 10min
First visit ever. The young man who attempted to help me was rude and condescending. He tried to deal with two customers at one time cutting you off mid sentence. If this is the best in Elk Grove based on the reviews my vote is thumbs down. Service is important. 😔
I guess these guys are only good and nice to you if youre buying their expensive bike. I happen to purchase my Trek Hybrid here and my experience was nice. I was just there to buy a brake pad and this same guy who sold me the bike has an attitude. I was just asking for a cheaper brake pad for another bike of ours and hes acting like mean and just wanted to sell that expensive Shimano brand to me. I will never ever come back to this bike shop. It just so happen that I needed this brake pad today. Ill advise you guys just to go to Amazon if you dont need it right away. His attitude towards customer like what he showed me is not suitable for his type of job.
This places a joke, dont give these clowns your money, they are very rude and no help at all. I should have checked the reviews before I came in here I seen that I am not the 1st one to notice the lack of customer service and rudeness.
Came in with a bike I needed assembled and right off the bat the guy behind the counter was very unprofessional with how he approached me. Not greeted, approached. They gave me a quote for $150 for assembly then jumped it to $175 after seeing what kind of bike it was. After a quick inspection, the associate said some of the bike frame was already bent snd will cause problem. So i asked them if its possible to still complete the job and he said they can try but odds are itll weaken and break but still said they will do it for $175. My question is if you as the professional know that it will not work why would you still do the job knowing itll cause complications down the line. Money hungry, unprofessional and rude. Do not come here. There are plenty of other bike shops out there
Came in with my husband Deion Champion to get a few tire tunes for my bike and the guy inside didnt have good customer service, he didnt make me feel welcomed in the store at all. Guess Ill take my business else where
Took my bike to get a new chain and wow they were fast putting a new one on thank you Trevor!
It seems like the employees are mad all the time and don’t like their work, besides that they never answer the phone. They were supposed have the bike ready on a Monday and call me, they never did, I called two days and left messages and nobody called me back.
Over Priced parts.very rude employees.employees seem to know nothing about bikes.
They overcharged on tire tube installation by $10 more and they have me to come back the following day.
Walked in with cash tonight to surprise my son for a kids trek mountain bike as he enjoys riding on the Elk Grove park bmx track. It’s his birthday next week. When asking two knuckleheads, one said, “that bike has been sold already” after asking if it would be a worthy choice for the EGPark track. I responded, “Okay, but is this model a worthwhile choice?” Thinking I could source one for next week... Then the 2of2 knucklehead chimed in, “yeah, we don’t like people touching the sold bikes, because uhh, due to covid and all” My response: “Then why do you have sold bikes on the sales floor?! You just lost a sale! Bye!”
Very rude young employee told my young child they had to stand on the sidewalk outside without me because he coughed one time (with a mask on). My son has seasonal and food allergies that cause increased mucus production. I dont need to be treated SO disrespectfully. Then the same employee came over to my area and complained about the customer that had just left in front of me, a current customer. I dont want to hear you make fun of a customer that just left. You need to grow up!
Michael was very nice and great customer service.
Unprofessional business practices and rude customer service. I have brought bikes in for years and have had a handful of issues with stuff being loose immediately after leaving the shop. Bought a new bike from them a year ago and after my 30 day tune up the rear axle was not tightened enough and when the wheel went sideways it put a tight spot in the chain and bent the front sprocket. It was a hassle to get them to replace it. Another time I paid to get my wheels trued and they came back ovalziied with loose spokes. Most recently I came in to get my wheels trued again on a different bike and was overcharged for a bottom bracket adjustment. Right after leaving the shop my BB came loose and after inspecting it realized not only did they strip the BB out but they chawed off the other side by not using the right tools. Scratched my frame as well. Owner would not take responsibility. After talking around I realized my experience was not unique. Make the drive to Folsom or go the bike shop behind taco bell.
They were super helpful, friendly, and appreciative of my business. I highly recommend ELK GROVE BIKE SHOP. They will do their best to accommodate your bicycle needs.
This shop has a ggod amount of inventory and exceptional customer service, Trevor knows his stuff. Found the Electra Cruiser (7D) weve been looking for here for my oldest daughter.
Worst customer service! Punk kid was very rude. I’ll never spend money in here.
Called in about a Santa Cruz bike. They do not carry them, so I asked if he knew where they might carry them. He hung up on me. To me, you never hang up on a customer, no matter what. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Highway robbery for a helmet, fresh online shopping only way to go! stopped by for opinion+advice & col questions, and Very Young employee seemed uninterested, unknowledgable and a lil prude,Probably wont return!
I went in to get my tire replaced and what I got was a fixed tire and good service at a good price. I will be going back if I ever have a problem again.
The bike mechanics were super friendly and service was fast! They also fit my 1 & 1/2 old son for a new helmet, going the extra mile to get all the padding and straps just right. Ill definitely be coming back to have my bike serviced locally.
Came here twice now as have rules for covid, which I Followed. Was told when to come in in email from them 2-5. So go there again at two and a kid at door said they were busy eating and didnt open til 2:30. Showed him my email and he didnt want to be bothered. Asked for owners phone so he call owner and then told me owner wont talk to me. Wow, what a great way to run a business, refusing to talk to your customers, unbelievable.
Friendly guys. Helped me pick out a bike for my needs and didnt try to talk me into more than I needed. Also gave me some solid bike advice which I definitely appreciate.
Hands down best bike store in elk groove. Friendly staff and good knowledge of bikes.
Every time I go in with a bike problem, the staff bend over backwards to make sure I get the assistance I need. They are very knowledgeable and up to date on current bike trends.
Very fast and friendly people to help you here. Really would recommended going here because the customer service is great also. Definitely will be coming back in the future.
I brought my bike there to change the pedals. The mechanic said the cost would be $5, I agreed and gave him my bike. After he finished the work, he said sorry he told me the wrong price it should be $15. I’m not trying to be a bad guy here saying he was dishonest but at least you make sure the correct price before telling your customer.
The people there are super friendly. And not only did they patch the tire for me, but showed me how to do it too! Awesome people here
Just great experience at this business, one of the best person who helped us. real human being great attitude, I will recommend all my friends to this place
Very good staff. Knowlegable. And friendly.. its my go to place and always up for a Sunday ride around town
Great place nice people.
Very nice to have a real bike shop in EG! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Was very disappointed with the young people working there as I was going to buy a bike there but before I was going to tall about bikes I needed some other questions of my other bike but found the young individual very cold and uninterested,as a result I will look elsewhere
I was super surprised by how fast they were able to help me, I was ready to wait but they changed my flat tire ASAP. thank you
I called this business several times over three weeks to ask them to save me two Bicycle boxes, they have yet to have one to give me because the employees and manager dont communicate with each other or they have given them to other customers. I also visited the store on Presidents Day Monday, walked around inside for 5 minutes, even stood by the cash register and was not even acknowledged as a customer. Bad vibe.
Went to get the brakes repaired on my sons bike. Turns out the cables needed to be secured. Took care of the problem at no charge. They could have told me to leave the bike and charged me who knows what. But they didnt. Fixed it right in front of me and told me to have a nice day. Honest service is what I received at Elk Grove Bike Shop.
The guys always take care of me. Very nice and helpful..
I came loaded with questions, and parts that I needed to buy. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and treated me like I was a young Gary Fisher. They gave me a free presta valve core and were astute at diagnosing a MTB disc brake problem I had.
Called for a quote, didnt even want to entertain it. Doesnt seem like a good business practice.
This is our inexcusable experience at the Elk Grove Bike Shop, 9633 E. Stockton Blvd.My poor wife exploded the rear tire on my cruiser bike with our air compressor while getting our bikes ready for a ride a few weeks ago, she felt awful about it. She went out, purchased a new tube and tire and repaired it herself to surprise me. It was a huge effort for her and I was so proud of her for doing it! I then noticed and pointed out to her that she had replaced a 2.125 tire with a 1.75 tire and her heart was broken again. We got on the Internet and found a nearby bike shop, Elk Grove Bike Shop, at 9633 E. Stockton Blvd. We hopped in the car with our 9-year-old grandson and headed for the Elk Grove Bike Shop. We told them our story, gave them the exploded tire and asked for a same size replacement. They sold us a new tube and tire and we left. As we were getting in the car, the owner, Jordan, came running down the sidewalk and accused our grandson of stealing a bike bell. We asked our grandson about it and he said he looked at it and put it back. We told our grandson to go back in the store and show the owner where he put it. He did, and the Jordan came back out with him and said, “No worry” they had found it.So today, I bring my bike into the house, turn it upside down, take it apart and get ready to put the new tube and tire on and find that it is a 26 X 2.0 tire, not a 26 X 2.125. I called the store, talked to Jordan and he said he had the right size. I went to the store, looked at the two tires they had, one a white wall and the other a knobby off-road tire and said I didn’t like either one and just wanted my money back. The salesman told me they only give credit. The owner was at lunch, so I decided to wait for him.The owner returned about 10 minutes later, showed me the same two tires, which I had already declined and said he would give me credit but wouldn’t give me my money back. I tried to reason with him that he had sold me the wrong size and didn’t have anything that was acceptable to replace it. I also added that I didn’t see a sign that indicated all purchases could only be exchanged. He informed me that the exchange statement only was on the receipt. Kind of after the fact I think, don’t you?So, here is the way it works at the Elk Grove Bike Shop: after you have purchased anything, even if they rang up a product that you didn’t want, you can only get credit. I raised my voice and demanded my money back and he told me I couldn’t raise my voice to him, and told me to get out of his store. He also screamed, that my grandson had tried to steal a bell the first time we were in his store. I responded he’s only nine years old and did no such thing. I left his store. How dare he slander our grandson when he knows the truth, he should be ashamed of himself.I’m retired, in my 70’s, and have done a little bit of shopping over the years. LOL In all of my life, I have never had an experience like this. He sold us the wrong product, would not give me my money back and slandered my grandson in front of everyone in the store, who I am sure did not have any idea what was going on.Beware if you ever decide to do business at the Elk Grove Bike Shop.
Horrible customer service. The manager “Todd” actually called me a B!TC# over the phone because I asked for his district managers number, which he refused to give out. He also requested that I come in person which appears to be a threat. Avoid business with them at all costs. I will be following up with this and I cannot believe the professionalism of this location. #wordofmouth
Customer service is the best. Friendly and helpful staff.
Great service awesome repairs. They brought back 2 bike to life that were sitting outside on the side of the house in the open
The Elk Grove Bike Shop, has a good selection of on hand bikes and a knowledgeable staff. They are eager to help out the cycling community and have the skills and parts to keep you on the road.
Great shop with knowledge staff!
A sign stating that purchases can be returned for credit only would be nice.
Good fast service for a reasonable price.
Fast, Friendly affordable service to fix bicycle Flats :)
Went in looking for a 27 x 1 1/4 tires for a nice vintage Nishiki Road Bike refurbish. They did have 1 set of tires to purchase, BUT when i told em, maybe ill look aroundAll i got was good luck they dont make those anymore.Really guys they dont make 27 x 1 1/4 tires anymore? Not even an offer to order some. Good job...Bike snobs lol
So I went in there looking to buy a hub and I bought one and didnt like it so I asked if I could return it and they said no I dont recommend this play tb didnt like it in my opinion the Elk Grove cycle shop is way better and better service
In and out with no problem, excellent customer service skills
So I decided to ride again after roughly 10 years. My budddies bought some bikes and asked me to join along...being an ex BMX type of guy; and seeing what my buddies were riding, I knew my ancient GT wouldnt be able to keep up with these guys on a long leisure ride. I did some thinking and ended up buying a bike from a big box store... At the time I figured my purchase was reasonable and brought my new bike home. After ending my first session on this particular big box bike... my experience was more in place with torture than pleasure... Riding just didnt feel the same... I made the decision to return my current bike and decided to visit the local cycle shop... I made my way to Elk Grove Bike Shop... Upon arriving I was greeted by a gentleman named Kevin... after a quick introduction, I explained to him what I was in store for... he asked a few key questions and pointed me towards a Giant ATX model...the bike looked great, however looks can be deceiving... Kevin gave me the option to take the bike for a test ride... the second my hands gripped the bars and my foot pushed the pedal... I knew I was in Love...The bike felt great and was exactly what I was looking for. Kevin answered every question I had for him with utmost sincerity, something one isnt able to find at big box stores. Upon checkout, Kevins colleague David made sure the process was seamless. David answered any additional questions I had before my quest homebound. Both kevin and Davids knowledge and reassurance made me feel so much better about my purchase. I happily made this purchase with no regret whatsoever. Knowing the bike had been assembled by one of the four employees (being bicycle enthusiasts themselves) and was tuned perfectly ...I started the ride home... One of the best experiences Ive had in a long time...I can say this confidently regarding I rode a little over 7 miles without any problems at all.. To all who are in the market for a new bike... visit Elk Grove Bike Shop... my word..., you will not be dissaponted. Happy riding to all.. Thank you Kevin & David.-Ash
First a little about me... I am a 16 year old who has been involved with bikes since I was three. I have been working on them since I was about 6. I have 5 bikes. A Specialized Allez road bike, a Giant Faith mountain bike, an old Schwinn road bike that I restored, a hybrid Marin, and a Justin Inman signature bmx bike from fit bike co. And I have had many other bikes in the past including an old Schwinn cruiser that I restored and gave to my brothers girlfriend for her birthday because Im a guy and had no use for a girls bike.I had an issue with my old Schwinn road bike. I had decided to try and true my wheels one night, which I had never done before, and I left the wheels on my bike when I did it (which is a big no no). I had messed my back wheel up bad and my front wheel was in reasonable shape.I took both of them in to see if they could fix them. I ended up talking to one of the main guys he said my rear wheel was unable to be fixed and that he could order me a new wheel. He said he only orders stuff on Mondays so hed order it the following Monday which I found weird from the start because for good customer service that Id get almost anywhere else they would order it at the time you were in the shop. Now almost every wheel that is bent out of shape can be fixed in some way. It just takes a bit of work. So the fact that they said they couldnt fix my wheel was ridiculous, but it kind of makes sense that they wouldnt try because it wouldnt be as strong as it was before. Two weeks later my new wheel was in. So that was good. Now for the bad:He never gave me a quote on how much it would cost to switch my cassette, tube, and tire over to the new wheel. He charged me $10 to switch over the tube and tire, which I thought was insane because I could do that in 5 minutes or less for free. Then he charged me $15 to switch the cassette over. I think $10 would have made more sense for this, and I wasnt too upset about that because I dont have the tool to switch the cassette over. But $25 was insane for something I was never quoted for. After I took my new and old wheels home, I decided to see if I could fix my old rim myself. I dont have a truing stand but I do have an indoor trainer that can hold my wheel straight. I put the old wheel on there and about 30 minutes later the wheel was as good as new. I was extremely upset that I had just spent about $85 to replace something I fixed myself for free.I am extremely displeased with the knowledge and abilities of the shop.
Very nice people who know what theyre talking about. There arent any other bikes shops in EG that sell high end mountain bikes and road bikes like they do either.
They are always helpful and friendly to me.
Very helpful with advice for bike rides.
Terrible customer service; I will never go back.
Be prepared to wait
Wasnt told of total whole cost. Was given one price, when it came time to pay was given another. Will not be back.
Got the help I needed and they got me set up to go in no time.
Small shop but fast service and courtesy service
They are outrageously expensive. They also lack professionalism and courtesy.
Very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly!
Very friendly and helpful.
Great service
Selection not great but very friendly.
Spent 15-20 minutes in the small store and wasnt greeted or talked to once by the guy that worked there. Only two other costumers were in the store. Will not go back.
Salesman was very kind and helpful, it is a small shop and a little expensive, but overall i would highly reccomend this shop
Awesome work great help
Very friendly and helpful!
Do they sell bmx bikes i really need 1 ?
Great experience, thanks guys.
It was very nice
