Honesty! That is the most important thing to me when I am getting repair work done on anything. I brought a mountain bike and a cruiser in for repairs, and I was immediately impressed. This shop was honest with me from start to finish and they were able, and willing, to tell me when I did or did not need something fixed or replaced. If something came up during the repairs, then they gave me a call and let me know what was happening with my bikes. Their honesty and skill has earned them a forever customer! I will recommend them to anyone and everyone!

We needed to clean up a bike that had not been used for ~6 years. We were walked through changing tires and given a neat trick for getting handle bar grips on. We got a seat replacement and added a long lost kick stand. Really outstanding service!! Son is very proud of what we were able to accomplish (with a little help).

Owner is awesome, helpful and will fix your flat within 10 min and won’t upsell. Great for repair and parts but not good if you want a new bike. The staff has a bad attitude though.

We stopped in to check out this bike shop and do a little shopping, but the store is pretty well sold out of everything. They only had 3 used bikes left.

I highly recommend Elk Grove Cyclery for your bike, parts and bike repair.I brought a bike I was refurbishing for my daughter (a nice 1991 Bianchi Advantage) in to Elk Grove Cyclery today because bone-headed me over-tightened the mounting bolts for cantilever brakes, which mushroomed the head of the brake bosses so that the calipers couldnt be removed.I wrench on bikes for fun and relaxation. But this was not relaxing as all the info I was reading about fixing the problem was pretty sketchy and involved an experienced hand and precision or the bike would be toast.After carefully trying my luck and fearing total loss if I messed up - its my daughters bike, after all - I thought Id better have a pro take a look.Lucky for me Tom Jr. was there and took interest in rescuing the bike. This wasnt a walk-in-the-park fix. Tom said hed dealt with similar situations without much issue. After trying a few techniques, he said this was the worst one hed seen. I have a way with impressing people like that.Turns out Tom has serious skillz and he aint afraid to use em! Using an angle grinder, a dremel-like tool, files, mallets, screwdrivers and demolishing the cantilever arms in the process (with my permission), he was able to remove the arms and without damaging the bosses or the bike! Yes!Its great to have a shop like this in your town with nice, experienced, and resourceful people to help! I will always go to Elk Grove Cyclery first when I need something and I hope you do too! Valve stem broke. Replaced tube, one day turnaround. Done at a very fair price.Id highly recommend them. There is a reason why theyre always busy, good work and stand behind it.

They took my grandsons bike right in and fixed a flat, trued the rim, and adjusted the brakes. All for a reasonable price

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced from the older guy. All I wanted was an inner tube changed (which does not take long at all) and he said he can sell me the tube and I can do it myself otherwise I’d have to leave my tire there for 10 days. Mind you no one else was in the shop shopping what so ever. Will never return here. I suggest you go to Elk Grove bike shop they’re much much friendlier and helpful. They changed my inner tube literally in 3 minutes. I would give zero stars if I could to this place.

Hopefully it wasn’t the owner but the guy on the phone was super rude. I simply called to ask if they open regular or if there were any covid restrictions. After annoyingly telling me all their hours, he yelled, “WHAT DO YOU NEED”. Who talks to a customer like that. Well, what I needed was a bicycle and got one, and some good customer service, from Kinetic bikes.

Great shop for getting repairs. Super friendly and helpful. Very knowledgeable, ask them anything and theyll have an answer. Convenient location. This shop is dedicated to helping our community, bring in your bike and theyll help you too. Prices are reasonable for the trade and output is timely. We will continue to bring our bikes here.

Very friendly and extremely helpful. Fixed my daughters bike quick despite being extremely busy and checked my tire on my bike which tends to bubble. Gave some excellent advice for both bikes. It was overall a pleasant experience. My daughter and I are happy.

Worst place ever! I went in to replace a tire and tube today and was treated horribly. It’s as if i was bothering this guy with my questions. This is a bike repair shop that seems to be upset when a paying customer requests help with bike repairs. Don’t go to this place!

Top notch shop. Took the time to walk me through each of the four bikes. Told me what theyd needed for maintenance, which was far less work than I thought, and educated me on what to expect as my children age. Need to buy a new bike soon for my daughter and this is where Im going to get it.

Have purchased 6 bikes from this shop and had work done there many times over the years. Owner is great to work with but staff can be a problem. Most recent experience was terrible. Took bike in for complete tune up and minor repair and returned 6 days later. Work not started and was told it was my fault because I didnt specify when I wanted to pick it up. The problem was that the clerk did not write down the agreed upon delivery date not that I did not state when I needed it. Employee was brash and increasingly mouthy until coworker stepped in but he soon followed along the same path of it isnt our fault, your ticket doesnt have a date on it so what do you want us to do? No, you cant talk to the owner because he isnt here and he might come back in today but maybe not until tomorrow and we dont ever give out his phone number or call him with problems..... This is not the first time staff have failed to start repairs on time and finish them when promised Making a long story short, last time taking my business to this shop, not so much for the delay as for the really bad attitude and customer service. If you hire people like these, dont leave them alone in the shop.

Family owned bike shop in Elk Grove. My son purchased his BMX Stolen Casino here and they did a great job with making sure it was all dialed in. They even have him coming back for a tune-up free of charge.

Bought my first GT Pro Performer from them back when it was Freewheelers on Florin Rd. Mid 80s. Glad to see the Old man is still around. I will be getting any of my Bike needs from him till he closes shop.

I worked for Tom about 11 years ago when I was a young teen. I ran off and joined the Army. Im still in. and 11 years later I call Tom up and tell him I want to get back into riding. With nothing but a delightful experience recommended a few bikes, did much research and went to a couple local shops here in oregon. decided on the bike I wanted which no shop here could offer. Tom ordered it for me, constructed it. sent me pictures and kept me informed the whole way. soon as I paid off the bike about a week later he had it dialed in, tuned and breaks set and in the mail to me up here in oregon. I couldnt be happier and appreciate everything he has done for me. in about 24 hours Ill be on my next adventure on my new Raleigh Tekoa Comp!
