An absolute delight. After searching the Portland market for two weeks looking for an ID4 that had the options I wanted I decided to expand my search. Sheppard Motors appeared to have a few in stock so I sent an internet inquiry from their site. Their salesperson Tony responded very quickly asking some clarifying questions. The negotiation process was clear, simple and honest. Once we came to agreement on trade in value and I sent some pictures of my trade the deal was sealed. I drove down on a Saturday morning and Tony greeted my as I approached. Such a great guy and so knowledgeable. I was in a time crunch and it took one hour to tour the new vehicle, do a test drive, meet with financing and get some quick education about the car. Then I was off. Spoke to Luis on the phone about a problem with my fob. Arriving later that day, Luis greeted me, remembered our conversation on the phone, took care of my issue quickly and at a *very* reasonable price. He also made me very comfortable while I waited, and, as I was on my way out, answered some very technical questions with both technical detail and personal experience.

Won’t talk price until paperwork but wants ABOVE MSRP and if you won’t pay it they say to find another dealer. Bad business, bad dealership. Who pays above MSRP?People are nice but this place is a con job!

Bought several new VWs from here. Great experience with those. However dont buy a used car from this place. They are rust bucket auction cars from Canada. They just slap a bunch of paint on the underbody to cover up all the rust so you cant see it. Not sure after this past experience Ill ever buy another car from them. Very disappointed...

Luis provides excellent customer service. He went out of his, above and beyond what I expected to make sure I was taken care of and that my vehicle was properly fixed. I greatly appreciate the work of the technician/s that diagnosed and repaired my vehicle. A previous dealer that I recently bought the vehicle from simply put a band aid on the issue and missed another serious problem, then sent me on my way only to break down 600 miles later. After my last dealings with these people this review is long past due. About a year ago I took my car in due to the ignition issue. They were able to get me in the same day and fix it under my extended warranty. I only paid $100 for this. This why they get 2 stars. After fixing the issue Luis explained to me that since the car was left on the battery was dead and was no longer able to hold a charge. He informed me that this would have to be replaced in order for the car to start. I asked what the cost of the battery would be and from my recollection it was over $250. I insisted that they not replace the battery and start my car. After doing this I took my car to a very reputable auto service dealer here in Eugene and they informed me that the battery tested fine and was holding a charge and was charging as it should be. This was about a year ago and the battery tested fine again at my last oil change. Its very evident that when they realize that you didnt purchase your vehicle from them they make it harder for you to get honest and reliable service. On another note. They have no problem straight lying to your face. In reality what car dealer does tho. I have recently started experiencing more issues with my Sh*t box VW tiguan only (2016) and in order for them to acknowledge that this is a known problem from VW I have to send them videos and forums of people experiencing the same issues. What a Joke. They will treat you like an idiot if you let them. Spend your money else where. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Just needed my car checked out before a trip. I was there at 10, here I am 4 hours later with no car, no updates. When I asked how much longer, they couldn’t even fine the damn mechanic. I still haven’t left or gotten an update while typing this.

Edgard took great care of me and my 2007 Passat. When there they discovered some extensive repair needs and made sure to explain all the findings and give a holistic quote. If you need friendly service and expectations that youll be taken care of in their service department-- look no further. I didnt end up getting all my repairs done here, but the work they did do to replace some components to make it safe to drive off the lot were done quickly and with quality.

Exemplary sales staff. Even through the back and forth, and back and forth because I was indecisive about what vehicle I wanted initially, I was treated respectfully and was thoroughly helped throughout my revisions and final decision.

Deion, one of the sales team here, is incredibly rude. Not only did he hang up on me when I did him the courtesy of calling him to apologise and explain why I was buying a different vehicle from another place, he then sent me a passive aggressive patronising text when I complained to his boss about his behaviour.

Hyundai has always been great to me. They were clear when I dropped off my vehicle that replacing the engine could take 3-4 weeks and they provided me with a loaner vehicle so I had no concerns. My car was finished it the time they told me and everything was covered by warranty which is great. The car also drives wonderfully now. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it came back to me dirtier than expected. Don’t get me wrong, it was not pristine when I took it in. All of my windows, doors and dash just have a fine layer of grime. Once it got dark I had to stop and wipe my window just so I could see out. Probably just from sitting in a shop for so long. Other than that everything is GREAT! I always get great service at Hyundai but recommend a wipe down for any future cars going through a big maintenance like engine replacement. Thank you Hyundai!!

I received a letter in the mail stating that I had an outstanding recall on my car. When I called up to schedule it turned out that I had two recalls that needed to be done. There was an available appointment that afternoon that I was able to scoop up. I dropped off my car early and it was done in under two hours. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and helpful.

My service appointment today went perfectly. It was my first service on my new car. The service rep was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I waited only an hour and 15 minutes for the service to be completed, which corresponded with the service rep’s estimated time. And the cost was reasonable and exactly as estimated. I’ll be back!

Nice salesman, Alex. Found the car advertised for $7,999 on line but when you got there I was told it went for $9,999. But they honored the lower price. When I saw the window sticker it said $10,999. So I think it was a pretty good deal although the fair market price was close to what I paid. So the $10,999 was considerably more than what it was worth.

I was treated respectfully throughout the process as I decided between purchase vs lease. I met several of the sales staff, and felt very comfortable -- not always the case when you are working with sales. No pressure. No false claims. A reasonable deal on the lease and repeated assurances that I coukd call at any time with questions or concerns.

Sheppard Volvos service people are wonderful! They are timely, courteous, and professional; they keep you posted as the repair progresses; they explain your circumstances and your options. I recommend them highly and am glad that they service my car!

The staff here are courteous, friendly, and helpful. I give four stars because we have spent a total of four hours there over multiple visits to resolve a door lock issue and it hasn’t been completely resolved. Things seem to happen very slowly compared to a previous dealership service center we used regularly in AZ. These guys are in a smaller area though so that may have something to do with it.

Weve bought several new cars over the years and never had this level of service. I honestly have no complaints about Sheppard, and every person we came in contact with was a joy to work with. The work we asked for was done on time. However, they suggested other unnecessary work and implied necessity. Granted this was from a new service manager. There are a lot of new service managers, which is troubling for continuity of service. Marci is consistently, reliably good. We’re grateful that she is there.

I was at another repair shop to have my headlight looked at. They diagnosed the problem but couldn’t get me an appointment for another 2 days. They said Sheppard would have the parts I needed. I was greeted at Sheppard politely and they checked to see about doing the repair while I waited. Mr. Reyna (I think this was his name) told me it would take 1.5 hours and gave me a price. I agree with this and waited in the waiting area. He got me a water and I was happy as he overestimated the cost. I am a satisfied customer.

This is the 6th vehicle we have purchased from Sheppard Motors in Eugene since 2014 and every buying experience has been better than the one before, if that’s possible. The sales and finance staff are phenomenal and the end result/deal always falls into line with our expectations. Was recently married and my wife has a Beetle. We brought it in to see what all it needed as it had check engine light on and other issues.We were then presented with a list of things, including that the timing belt needed replaced. That it was cracked and warn out. Which is amazing because it was just replaced 6 months ago. I had them do a tune up and they said they just replaced the spark plugs($300+). Check engine light came back on for miss fires - I replaced the wires and it was a miricle, it stopped.We also had them replace a door lock which they installed upside down. I was told I would hear from them about it and nothing. So, two stars because they replaced the spark plugs.Dishonest service department. $$$🍽

I think the workers at The front desk are trying hard. Ken seemed to be brand new and just did not know what he was doing yet.I dropped the car off and they found quite a bit wrong with it, was in a phone conversation with the tech people and was under the impression my car was ready on Saturday. I went to pick it up Monday and they told me it was not ready. They called me several hours later Monday and told me the car was ready and when I came in it was still up on the lift. They said for some reason they didn’t see that I needed new tires so I had to go away and come back again the third time to pick up my car. When I finally came in the third time to pick it up I had to wait a long time because really there was only one person working. I think Shepherd is struggling with their customer service right now.

From Idaho came down here to visit family for Thanksgiving. engine light came on my Volkswagen Tiguan just stopped by real quick to see if they could diagnose it. the gentleman that was working on the 29th of November was very nice courteous respectful. the diagnostic was not serious so we feel very pleased on having the help we had and we feel secureablydrive home tomorrow morning be able to drive home tomorrow morning

I had originally spoke with Deven who, after explaining that I was driving 3 hours down to look at a Jeep, offered to face time with me so I could do a walk around of the vehicle before making the trip. When I got there I worked with Matt, who was awesome. Very smart and personable, and guided us through their process with some insight. I’ve had other dealers be pushy, but these guys (even after showing up at 6:30pm) were never pushy at any point. Very transparent staff. I haven’t felt this comfortable with a car purchase/trade in during any of my other experiences. Highly recommend these guys! Go see Matt!
