This was my first experience with Jerry & Walts - they were recommended by the place I bought my tires for a front end alignment. Their office staff was helpful and efficient, and there was a comfortable, quiet waiting area. I asked for an additional service (checking the torque on the lug nuts, so I didnt have to go back to the tire seller), which was cheerfully accommodated.It turned out only minor adjustments were needed, so the service took less time and cost less than expected. Their service also includes a vehicle wellness check of major systems. (I liked my score, but of course not everybody will!)From start to finish I felt thoroughly confident that this was an organized, professional operation. I wouldnt hesitate to use or recommend Jerry and Walts again.

What can I tell you. This is the place to get your car routine service, repair, modification or other, just ask. I see them doing such a wide variety of things, I think they do everything you may need. Friendly, fast, affordable experienced and honest. I like these guys, I know you will also. I needed an oil change along with some potential brake work, and a couple other things. I ask them to run a complete check on my car. They gave a precise written estimate and pictures of what needed repair and why. They didnt come up with extra costs or repairs that I wasnt aware of. Fair and honest.

Jerry and Walts Complete Auto Care took fantastic care of my moms car after it had been sitting more than 10 months without being driven. Their staff is friendly and professional. The information provided on the work was quite detailed. And the quality of work is excellent. I will start bringing my own vehicles to them for service in the future, and will recommend them to all my friends and family.

We had another shop check my sons truck out for an alignment issue and they wanted to change tie rods, springs, and other parts. Took to Jerry & Walts and they got to the root of the problem which was the caster camber needing correction. The steering box was worn out causing sloppy steering wheel. We new the brakes were a problem which we had them correct and we went ahead and had all the gear boxes and trans oil changed as preventative maintenance. You get what you pay for and we all want an honest shop to work on our vehicles so you need to do business with Jerry & Walts.

Never shopped a car in fifty years of driving, took a new purchase to Jerry and Walts for a checkup. The quality and completeness of said diagnostic was impressive. I then decided to have them do the needed work, which was properly done in a highly professional manner. Excellent staff and service!

We switched here when our previous mechanic retired. So far weve only made two appointments but have been happy with both. They were able to accommodate us quickly and the work was done professionally for a reasonable price.

Tried to convince me I needed new spark plugs, a new battery, and fuel injector flush to fix a rough idle on my civic. $400 for a “diagnostic” and to replace some spark plugs. Did some research after the fact and it’s a known issue with Civics and can be fixed by simply running the front defroster. At least they were nice about taking my money I guess....

We finally found an honest mechanic. Their method of diagnostic is no pressure method to inform me of potential issues with my car. They were fast, efficient, friendly to my pocket book. We will be going here for my future car issues and maintenance.

I do GrubHub for a living, so my vehicle is very important to me. Yes my vehicle needs a lot of work done to it because of its age. I had my 4Runner towed into Jerry & Walts. And called them for a specific job, replacing both torsion bars was the job and only job. They told me they could do the job, and give me a call of about $800. I had my car towed in a day early so in case they had a chance to look at it they could. They called me up the following day, explaining that the price tag for fixing my truck was now over $2,400. They explained to me that some of the parts for the torsion bars, Toyota did not make anymore. So I had my car towed home whats a written estimate of how much it would cost to fix the torsion bars. After looking at the estimate which included the price of doing rear shocks, which really have nothing to do with torsion bars as they are on the front suspension. They also included the price of a wheel bearing repack both sides which would be more affected by the torsion bars in the torsion bars not being affected so much by the wheel bearings also including a spindle bearing repack which once again is more affected by the torsion bars as the torsion bars really wouldnt be affected by the spindle bearing. So whats going on price of ball joints shocks wheel bearing repack spindle bearing and will alignment which that is a necessity came to almost $2,500, what still included the torsion bars. They said they couldnt do because Toyota did make those parts anymore. I would not recommend this place to anybody.

This business was one of only 2 recommended to me to install a catalytic converter theft-proof plate. I had not been to this business previously. They were very professional and kept me informed when additional parts would be needed which would slightly delay the expected finish time. If they were closer to where I live I would use them frequently in the future.

I was desperately without a vehicle. They were nice enough to question my fixing an older car.I went ahead with the work and after awhile, they called each time something was needed. I felt better as I realized how much work was involved. They were very nice.

Ive had positive results from this shop. I followed one of their newer mechanics, Michael, from another shop when he moved to Jerry and Walts. He does quality work with honesty and fair pricing. Ive met the owner a few times. He also seems like a wholesome fella with good intentions. They run a well organized, clean shop. Jerry and Walt’s is my automotive shop of choice! The staff is amazing and the service is wonderful. In this time of a pandemic virus, I felt that The staff at Jerry and Walt’s has gone the extra mile in order to provide excellent hygiene while dealing with repairs and service. I noticed how they are protective of their customers and staff by seeing how they wear gloves while greeting you and keeping the safe 6 foot distance. Then when going to get information from my vehicle I noticed how they put what looked like a steering wheel cover, seat cover and floor mat in the drivers area. I also noticed how they wiped down my steering wheel and column controls with sanitizing wipes. They also sanitized the door handles and door switches at that time. I am really happy that they care to go above and beyond to ensure cleanliness at this time of uncertainty and worry. While I was inside, I consistently saw the staff sanitizing most of the hard surfaces around the shop and also the entry door handles. Thank you Jerry and Walt’s automotive for remaining open in this time so we could get our vehicle serviced! Oh and Buck is amazing! I think he is the shop foreman guru! He sure knows his stuff! I have always had wonderful service from this shop. Had my car towed there in the morning and was driving it home at the end of the day. They even stayed late to finish it (had a alternator installed and they found evidence of rodents, had that cleaned out as well). It has a family atmosphere that you can trust. And they even called to check up to make sure everything was running correctly a week later. I have never had this happen with any other shop. I will be going there for now on. And they are about the same price as the dealership without all the hassle. They don’t try and up sell you either. Anyone looking for great quality auto care should go to Jerry & Walt’s.

I like the well-organized feel if Jerry & Walts, and have been happy to followed our favorite car guy, Michael, there. GREAT SERVICE! I had a really big problem with an old 1989 Olds. Electric windows wouldnt work and A/C went out. The A/C was gone and would have to be replaced, but I couldnt afford that, but they managed to get 2 of my electric windows working that had not worked for a couple of years. It was a 100-degree day in Eugene and not sure what the temperature was in the car but unbearable. Back on the road 1 and 1/2 hours later and at least I have windows I can open to let air in even though the A/C is out.Price was fair and we were treated nicely by all the staff. Ice Cold water was available and the shop is really clean for a garage shop.Thanks, folks for helping us out. Bill and Aaron

I had been having an intermittent issue with my truck randomly not starting, while starting just fine at other times. Multiple mechanics had told me that I just needed to replace the starter as a way to begin sourcing the problem. Obviously paying hundreds of dollars just to see if maybe the starter was the issue was not a solution for me. A AAA driver suggested that I go see Jerry and Walt’s, and I’m really glad I did. Matt was super helpful and understanding about the issue. After one day of checking the voltage output from the battery, they determined that I just had a wonky battery. They replaced my battery with one that has a six-year warranty. These guys save me a lot of money and stress. I feel really good knowing that I have a trustworthy mechanic here in Eugene.

I and my family have been going to Jerry and walts for our alignments for over a decade. They have serviced 10+ cars cover 50+ years in all makes and models. Even after the company changed hands the same great service continued. This is the only company I will let touch my vehicles.

The employees here were super friendly, gave me a time line when the work would be done and nailed it, quoted me for a price and charged just a little less than that and overall made me feel like my business was appreciated. They work with you to get your work done as soon as possible. They are honest about what you need, and charge for only what you get. They are good at communicating when they cant get a part or it will be delayed.

I brought my car in because it was overheating. Michael assessed it and found I needed a new radiator. Not surprising in a 2008 Aveo5. That was on a Wednesday morning. The car was ready later that day, (amazing!) altho I didnt pick it up until Thursday morning. The office staff kept me apprised of what was going on and all costs. I was quoted $730 to have my van fixed. I agreed to pay the amount because I needed my van back and didnt really have a choice (work van). They were speedy in fixing the van however, the manager or front counter lady called me and told me the part they needed to fix my car was an extra day out because they had to get it from a different place. This was not convenient but they were doing their best so fine, it is what it is, I agreed to wait the extra day. When I picked up my van the bill was $945. I of course questioned why it was 30% higher than what they quoted me. The response was since they had to get the part form somewhere else it was $200 more from there (the part originally was about $150, makes it hard to believe that a $150 part here is a $350 part there?)also she reminded me that the $730 was an ESTIMATE (missed it by that much). She apologized for not telling me about the price increase and lowered my bill like $50. One of these days I will find a mechanic that I can trust. If the bill was within reason higher than the $730 (maybe $780) I wouldnt have even questioned it, just thought $200 higher was a little ridiculous.

The guys working here are outstanding! I had a broken mirror and they fixed it right away. Other shops had lied to me, saying that they had to remove the door to install it (just to get more money) but the people working here were honest and did a great job. Thank you so much! I will definitely come here again if I have any future issues with my vehicle!

I live in Eugene and generally I drive old cars that an independent mechanic whom I trust can fix for a very reasonable price because I just generally dont trust what I call retail mechanics. Ive been driving all kinds of old cars for the last 30 or so years of my life in different places and finding a good and honest mechanic seems to always be difficult for me.But a couple years ago I got a newer pick-up truck to tow my camper. Its a 2004 Chevy Silverado (the newest vehicle Ive ever owned by far) that had been running pretty good for two years and then developed an issue starting that needed serious attention.I didnt know anyone independent who would work on the truck and also I wanted the work to be done right and warrantied because I need the truck to be more dependable than my other vehicles because its the tow vehicle for the camper.So I was willing to pony up to have it done right. I went to Jerry and Walts on a recommendation from the AAA tow guy who said they did good work but were not the cheapest. That was a good enough recommendation for me because I was desperate.Jerry and Walts first repaired a significant problem that involved dropping the transmission and replacing parts and they charged a reasonable amount for the work and it was done promptly and they are very good with communication. Matt is a good communicator and also has a way of talking to customers that lowered my stress level about the whole thing.I got the truck back and after starting it a couple of times, the truck made a noise that no vehicle should ever make and I towed it back to Jerry and Walts. When I brought it back, I could tell that they were surprised and they were immediately ready to own up and replace whatever it was.It turned out that there was a more significant issue with the engine that they had missed the first time. To be fair, the issue had existed before I brought it in and still would have needed to be fixed. But it was a problem that they did not fix what the problem was. They were really honest about owning up to not spotting the original problem.When they told me it needed a new engine, I thought I was up the creek. I think that most shops would have dumped the truck back on me at that point and I would have been screwed.However, Jerry and Walts committed to work with me at a reduced cost to fix the entire problem because they had missed the issue the first time. Again, Matt was great with the communication and fair in his explanation and dealing with me on the phone.They did a lot of work to find a used replacement engine in good condition and put that engine in my truck and generally tuned up and replaced a lot of the old parts around the engine and did some other things like rear transmission seal while they were at it.I wont quote exact prices but I have had a lot of vehicles and a lot of repairs and I know that the price I paid for the engine replacement and labor and other work was greatly reduced to the point where it was a doable repair for me financially and certainly less cheaper than getting another truck.They really stuck with me through a very difficult repair and worked with me on the cost when they realized there was something they missed on the original repair. I suspect many shops would have not have owned up to missing the original issue.I waited a few months to write this to see how the repairs were sticking and the truck is still running better than ever. Based on my experience, I would recommend this shop to anyone who needs a fair mechanic for a reasonable price.

They didnt inspect my car thoroughly and I left with a false diagnostic. My engine is compromised and they were not willing to work with the price off of their false diagnosis after consulting with Les Schwab about supposed tire tread seperation (which it is not); this is after suggesting that I have Les Schwab comp the cost of the diagnostic through their shop. Sun Automotive has better prices and solid ratings. Im very disappointed in this experience.

Fraud...all the way.I took my truck to them for advice about the truck wandering on the road.They told me that they needed a few parts...of which were very miner parts of low prices...to add grease to the front end of the truck.These prices should normally be...about $1.00 each and they wanted to charge me $300 for a $1.00 part.Not right business...dishonest....will not nor should anyone ever do business with them.I am a business owner for over 40 years...and very knowledgeable in mechanical situations...and to replace a grease fitting is less than an hour to replace the entire trucks fitting...They wanted to charge me over $1,000 for $4 parts.I had one tire with low pressure...they never said this part...only thinking I was a Mark.Please be aware.!!

I was a loyal customer until approximately a year + ago when the garage changed hands. The new owner, Derrick, promised the same quality of work and level of integrity given by the previous owner, Ron Olson.Sadly, this was not the case and, as a single woman, I felt as I was seen as fair game by the new owner and manager.I live out of town so leaving my car for a day is difficult. The major work I requested was not done when I picked up the car and I was overcharged for what was done. When I addressed this overcharge and incomplete service with the office manager, she told me that she would see what she could do about it the next time I brought my car in...........I have not returned -- -nor will I ever return!!!!!Jerry and Walts went from being the best and most honest garage in town to one that I will never return to. It is clear why the lot at the garage that used to be full of cars being serviced is now half empty. Use great caution if you are a female---guard your wallet-- and car-- carefully!!!!!

Brought my Tundra 4x4 to get the oil changed in the differentials and trans-axial. They found that the left rear shock was leaking, but instead of trying to make money replacing it, told me to check with the Toyota dealer, since it could be covered under warrantee. I was able to get the shock replaced at the Toyota dealer at no cost.

Great service! Very accommodating! I had flown into town to pick up a 93 Dodge Ram W250 pickup to drive back to Minnesota. I was on a tight time frame and the front end had began to make a clunking sound on left turns. I called them on a Friday afternoon and they fit me in that same hour to look it over. In less that an hour after I dropped it off, they had located the issue, fixed it and called me back. The steering box bracket was a little lose, they cinched it back up and found the records for the recent alignment that had done a month prior. They explained the problem very clearly and gave solid recommendations on what to keep an eye on in the future. After all that they didnt charge me a dime. One of the most friendly, fast and helpful shops, Ive had the pleasure of dealing with.

I was parked at red barn when I started to smell burning from under my hood. My car started but was definitely messed up. Not being from the area, I looked to my fellow red barn customers for where to take my baby. Three people said Jerry and Walts down the block. I was nervous about driving it but somehow made it to their lot. THANK GOODNESS FOR THEM! With no appointment, and the odds against me since two mechanics called in sick, they promised to fix a broken pulley and replace my serpentine by 5pm the same day so I could make it to work in Portland by 8. They were super kind, charged me honestly for the parts and labor, and incredibly flexible given my time schedule.Im waiting to get an oil change til the next time I visit Eugene, so I can give them my business.Seriously some of the nicest and accommodating service Ive ever had at a mechanic.

So far I have had nothing but bad experiences with this shop. I spent $3700 for a head gasket job in December (which took them 2 weeks) which is 1000 more than someone else quoted me. When I went to pick up the truck the contents of my center console were all over my floor, my battery was dead, and the alignment was WAY off. The steering wheel was turned about 45 degrees to the left. What certified mechanic doesnt see something like that and gives it back to the customer? So now in may my engine completely seized, out of nowhere, with no warning, in the middle of traffic on I5. Everybody else Ive talked to says thats what happens when you do a bad headgasket job. Great. So I had it towed back to them yesterday for warranty work. Its been 27 hrs that they have had my truck AND STILL HAVE NOT LOOKED AT IT! Im furious as Im now without a vehicle again because theyre shady and incompetent. Maybe Ill change my review if they replace the engine they ruined but for now I say avoid this place like the plauge!

Great work, Great price. Took my most recent viehicle to them after being to a retail chain 2x to get my front end worked on and the big chain tire store missed some major issues that Jerry and Walts took care of an had our car back to us the next day.

Really nice people but small parking lot

I was promised my car on Tuesday. I called late Tuesday to check on the status and I was told it would be Wednesday because of a problem they had with another persons car. I called late on Wednesday and they told me it would be ready Thursday, because they were missing a bolt... I will update my review tomorrow - after I call them.Thursdays update (12:46 PM): They are not promising that my car will be done today....they are hoping it will be.
