We had high hopes for this shop. Many folks told us how great of a place it is and all of the hidden treasures they have. On a positive note, they have the most wonderfully stocked and organised book section. I have yet to see such organisation of books and media in a charity shop. Prices were spot on. We found some great titles, many out of print. Very helpful staff as well. The price points for the rest of the store seemed awfully high for many of the items. Their furniture prices were exorbitant especially on many of the pieces that were not in great shape. Much of the kitchen items were also marked pretty high for the quality.Live and learn... we will be back here for books for sure!!

Selection was fine. But some of their employees are unhelpful to the point of creepy. Like, clearly explaining that they know how to help you and that they could give you instructions. But they won’t. Then stand there and watch you suffer getting frustrated. Their younger employees are nice though. The older ones are in it to watch people struggle.

This thrift store was absolutely baffling.- Employees were rude-Pricing was absurdIts pretty organized but the pricing was absolutely outrageous. I dont think I saw a single piece of furniture for under $150. Their pieces were $599.99 or $399.99 and some even more. I saw a tv stand for $300 that had scratches and coffee stains. I honestly thought that some one had made a mistake when they were labeling things and had added an extra 9 to the end of a bunch of price tags. So I went and asked one of the staff if a patio chair was actually $600. She told me yes. I was shocked. I commented that all of their furniture was pretty expensive and then asked her if it was hard to move(sell quickly) the furniture their. She didnt even respond she just looked at me like I was insane and had two heads. Which I thought was a bit rude especially since I had been calm and friendly through the interaction and I wasnt accusing her of pricing things too high. after some awkward silent eye contact I told her good bye and I hope she has a good rest of her day. she then made a weird face and turned away. Super rude.To be fair most of the furniture their did look pretty nice, but if I was going to spend $800 on a couch or $600 on a lawn chair I would most likely just buy a brand new one. Perhaps there is something Im missing or perhaps the furniture there was some kind of ultra high end stuff that normally costs thousands of dollars and paying $800 is actually a screaming deal. I do see that other reviews talk about the insane furniture prices and go back pretty far which makes me wonder if they have the same furniture or if they just always mark it up that high.

The place is okay... its neat and organized, but clean wouldnt be the first word that comes to mind. Staff could be a little more friendly but they arent that bad. I primarily spend my time in the book section. Theyve got more books than books have words, and on every topic imaginable. Theyve got books dating back to the founding of the Uniyed States (literally I found a book written in the 1780s). Theyve got a LOT of old german books on everything from hymnals to poetry. I love old books and Ill spend hours just looking through them here.

Friendly, helpful and personable. An employee went out of his way to help me. Actually took the time and was sincere. I see myself being a frequent customer at this place.Just picked up a washer and dryer from this location. Impressed with the three individuals that helped load them. Ismael, a manager and another lady. Not only friendly but hard working and very polite.

Furniture prices are so high its immoral. Selling beat-up IKEA furniture at above retail prices is predatory, ripping off people who cant afford new furniture and dont know how much something should cost. Ill never understand a charity thrift store that prices poor people out of the market. Staff was also surprisingly rude.

With Eugene being one of the bicycle capitals, you would think they would have a locker setup like Goodwill does for backpacks. Which brings up another point, what about the ladies that walk in with a purse larger than my backpack? Im just saying. Thats the only turn off, other than that, the staff is really friendly.

Love it! Great picking, good sales, always tons of treasure. Excellent book selection, well organized. Ask for help finding what you want, they know their stuff here! Found me a pile of books from the author I was looking for. Fair and reasonable prices on most things. Overpriced stuff gets marked down, so it all evens out. I never leave empty handed. Heres a beautiful 1930s early Pendleton Beaver State blanket I found for $20.

Had a bad experience here last week. The cashier was taking her bad day out on me. I attempted to use my 20% coupon, but she informed me I couldnt use it on something that was already discounted (more like berated me). Because I couldnt use the coupon on coat, I asked her to apply it to my mason jars. She then said but theyre $.49. And got all irritated with me, telling me she wouldnt need to get an override. I just wanted to use the damn coupon. She raised her voice and told me she asked for any coupons in the beginning, which she didnt. When I left, I turned to see her spreading this bitter attitude to the patron in line behind me. I will never go back to this St. Vinnies.

Amazing place depending on the season, donations, and the phase of the moon. Seriously, you can find almost anything here, including the largest selection of cheap used books in Lane County. Also good for used CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes. I buy all my clothes at thrift stores and mostly from this one.

I’ve been to several st vinnys and never been asked to leave my diaper bag behind. Never going back, rather buy brand new from Lowe’s anyway but figured I might get lucky. This place just makes itself look pretty, like they care about the less fortunate, when they just want to make money. A friend of mine who is legally blind visited multiple stores asking where clothes were. She was directed to a rack and left behind. They didnt ever bother to offer to help her. Their furniture is way over priced as well. You can get good deals here at times, but if you require assistance, I would take your business next door to Goodwill. They are more than willing to offer help there.

Huge St. Vinnies. I wish they sorted their shoes by size and not color though, it seems to make less sense in thrift stores. Amazing book selection that is sorted alphabetically which is great. Prices can be a bit high compared to other local thrift stores, kind of absurd on some furniture pieces but their clothing selection is pretty great for a thrift shop.

This store USED to be one of my favs until today. Found a small light fixture that had been installed somewhere (wires were twisted, small skiffs of paint on the back edge). It was in a styrafoam box but missing one glass shade with a plastic bag containing the wire nuts and hardware. No box. Just wrapped with some tape that had been mostly removed. Looking for another fixture, I happened upon the missing glass shade! I placed it in the styrafoam box and untied the plastic bag to see if all parts were there. I couldnt tell but decided to place the styrafoam box inside the bag to keep the glass pieces from falling out. The price tag was marked $1.99. There was also a BRAND NEW NEVER INSTALLED Ikea fixture, in its box, all hardware, marked $5.99. I decided the Ikea light was too long and took the smaller one up with my other items. I was absolutely appalled when, at checkout, they decided it was worth $9.99 and REFUSED me the purchase!!! They claimed it was mismarked because it was new. I argued that it wasnt new and that the truly NEW Ikea fixture was only $5.99 but they still refused to sell it to me unless I paid $9.99. I am amazed as that is PRICE FRAUD! Which makes me question my other item. A wool runner (rug). Two identical runners. One marked $29.99, one marked $2.99. Of course I chose the $2.99. But that item wasnt questioned!

These people are supposed to be for LOW INCOME housing. Yet you have to pay $45 every time you apply if its been over 90 days and when they call you to apply it usually takes 90 days for the place to be move in ready. Then you get to pay the fee again. Thats if they dont call you and say actually someone was ahead of you like they did to me the first time (have been trying to get in for 3 years). Thats cool I just wasted $45. The rent is not subsidized either so if you lose your job you just get evicted and then the best part is, you have 3 days to come up with the move in costs. THREE DAYS. What kind of place for LOW INCOME PEOPLE gives you 3 days to come up with move in costs when they make you wait 4 months while they are getting it ready and cant even give you any kind of time estimate? I have to come up with $1000 in 3 days. And their income limits for approval are so low with myself and my son I cant even take home more than $1400 a month, MAXIMUM or I am over income. Its a joke. I dont know how anyone gets in here and if you can come up with that money in 3 days youre lying about your income somewhere because people who truly meet their income limits cant come up with that kind of money in 3 days unless they got income coming in somewhere that isnt reported or have no bills. And I actually got someone to borrow me the money but me child ended up in the hospital in anaphylaxis from medicine and rotavirus and they still moved on to the next person because I couldnt make it to the appointment because my child was in isolation and anaphylaxis bunch of heartless horrible people. I couldnt get anyone else to stay with my child because NO ONE WANTS ROTAVIRUS! They are NOT there to help you, cant even wait a day or two for kid to get out of the hospital.... how can an organization going out acting like they try and help people do something like this?

Ended up having to empty out all the new groceries and use the last of the gas in the truck to bring back their mistake. TO TOP IT ALL OFF the fridge we ended up getting after arriving home and ready to plug in... Has a broken cool control knob -_- To the store clerk DAWN thanks for all this inconvenience and GRABBING my boyfriend which was super INAPPROPRIATE. I want a refund or at LEAST the delivery pay for having to waste my gas on a 2nd mistake. Will definitely be talking to the manager monday 💁 because this is NOT WORTH what I paid for and certainly not satified with how we even got TREATED at the store the first time around.

St Vinnies helps a lot of folks. That said, they treat their workers badly: low wages, long hours, few benefits, grueling work, and dealing with homeless and angry customers. The company should share its profits with the workers, close on holidays so folks can be with family, and pay a living wage.
