I dont give a 5 star coffee review easily, but this spot is an absolute gem! We just cruised into Eugene and this was our first stop off I5.Their shared patio area really transported us into one of our favorite cafes in Mexico. Also, my wife and I got black Americanos and this was the last day of their featured Ethiopian espresso. When theres no steamed milk, cream, or sugar, it all comes down to the quality of the bean and barista. Great service, and the drinks were ready super efficiently. Will be back to try that cold brew!

Delicious Coffee joint with a very cute garden in the back. I enjoyed the quality craftsmanship that went into my caffeine craving cure. The staff was friendly and warm. I loved the use of floral accents throughout the establishment. They had a beautiful flowering jasmine vine in the garden out back by the stage that smelled outstanding and complimented the taste of my coffee with the smell of beautiful blooms. I will definitely be going back again!

Great atmosphere, amazing staff, super warm welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend to anyone looking for good local coffee. They roast their own coffee and you can buy bags of it. Probably the most underrated coffee spot in Eugene. 100% recommend to anyone to go there at least once. Youll keep coming back. A1 across the board. 💯

Honestly I enjoy this spot more for its location than anything. A miniature oasis with good coffee, although pricey and the portions are rather small. However, the owner is super nice and friendly and the atmosphere he’s created is legitimately worth the expensive price tag (think 5$ for a cuppa, average.) If you want to ball out in a subtle style, give this place a shout.

These folks roast some yummy coffee. They have the Covid-19 practices down great as well with an order window and wonderful spacious patio with beautiful plants and trees, and plenty of outdoor seating. Their indoor area is super cute, looking forward to the day when we can enjoy it again. They’re also black-owned! I plan to buy my beans here from now on!

Not sure why people think dumping cocoa into coffee makes a Mocha. It doesnt. It makes a chalky nasty drink that is terrible. If you claim to be a good coffee shop invest in a decent mocha recipe. Not good at all. Not sure about the coffee but the chalky cocoa based mocha isnt worth a dollar.

Let me first say, for me, coffee should be its own food group because ot varies so much. Equiano is incredible. The main (drip) and press (espresso) vary daily so take a moment to talk to the staff about how you like your coffee. They take time to do that and you have options. They even provide samples if unsure, saving you a less than perfect experience. Outside they share with a neighboring business a great courtyard to relax in. The Whit-neighborhood is known for great coffee houses and Equiano is at the top!!

NOTE: This is the tasting room/shop. The roastery listed on Wallis does not do tasting. We went there first and had to backtrack to the Blair address...WELL WORTH THE EFFORT!-Fantastic coffee. There is drip, espresso, and quick ready-made to-go coffee. There were 8 varietals with tasting notes. Visit this place for a great cup to go, OR, relax in the small tasting room our out front on a nice sunny day and marvel and the amazing variety of flavors coffee can have. Served in proper coffee-ware, it reminded me of wine tasting. Sniff, taste, swish, yum! My wife and I got two different drip coffees, tasted each, both were very unique (in good way). After our initial cup of drip, we ended up getting an espresso (served with mineral water to cleanse the pallet), a pound of beans and we were on our way. Great experience that I can recommend to anyone.

Fantastic vibes! I made this patio area into my office and emotional home away from home when I visited. Do visit the blue picnic table under the tree! Prices are a bit steep compared to where I’m from, but match everything in Eugene.I had a chai latte, made with their homemade non-dairy milk (perhaps cashew, I can’t recall). The coffee house is adjacent to an ice cream/soup/baked goods shop. The patio is shared, and appears to have live music sometimes. The clientele are super friendly, be sure to share the table and keep the happy vibes going :)

I had the pleasure of meeting Natasha and the owner/roaster today. (I dont want to humiliate myself my attempting his spelling - but a helpful and outgoing gentleman) and enjoyed the fruits of his labor. I savored a very delightful and NOT sweet mocha with house made ganache. I took some Vietnamese coffee beans home to try as well. Lovely place, very helpful and knowledgeable staff you can discuss coffee snobbery with. I highly recommend this experience for coffee in the Eugene area!!

Equiano is one of my favorite roasters in Eugene, and the best place to learn about coffee. The drinks in the cafe/tasting room are exquisite, and I love the personal touches like the homemade ganache and cashew milk! (The cashew milk is rich and has a natural creaminess and sweetness.) I love going there with my kids because the rustic courtyard is perfect for them to hang out and play. My standard gift for an out-of-town friend is to have Equiano ship some freshly roasted coffee and a jar of coffee blossom honey. I like learning about the varieties and roasts, and the owners and small staff are always able to guide me to something Ill love. Ive been following the owners around since they had the cafe One Cup next door, years ago.

I stopped into the coffee shop for the first time today and was so utterly impressed by every aspect of my visit! The staff greeted me in a warm manner, there were several awesome coffees to choose from (I went with the Guatemalan), and the treat selection was fantastic... not to mention that the atmosphere is so calming and lovely! There are several spots to sit inside, but this shop also shares outdoor patio space with Vanilla Jills, which resides next door.I ordered a latte with their homemade cashew milk, and it was legit! Not too sweet, well balanced, and altogether delicious.I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Its definitely my new favorite spot in Eugene.

I dont normally give out one star review. But when I do, I mean it. My coffee tasted very bland, water downed, no flavor and burnt. Basically dirt in hot water. I saw positive reviews about this place too! Guess it was just an overhyped lie... The place is so small that I passed by it like two times. Also where can I park my car?? Theres no place to park! SOME people that work there are nice. For sure wont be going back to this place again.

Limited drink options, one type of dairy free alternative, and no additional flavored syrups for those who want it. Worker wasnt exactly the friendliest, but could just have been a slow morning. This cozy nook is the warmest and yummiest coffee spot in Eugene. Owner and roaster Okon serves up the best beans and the entire crew pays loving attention to pull only the best shots for you. My mom took me here early Saturday morning. She raved about the coffee and how she has supported the owners business since his early days prior to this brick and mortar shop.We walked, werewthe only two in the shop said good morning to the girl working. There was not one word back from the employee. She gave a half grimaced smile/sneer and went back to the iPad in front of her.As I was looking at the menu board and talking to my mom about what we should order, I glanced at the employee and she literally looked at me, rolled her eyes, frowned and looked back at the iPad.I said to my mom we are leaving.Went to Red Barn and had a great time thanks to their awesome, friendly and super staff.Since when is the above mentioned behavior acceptable from an employee to a customer? Our fix to this scenario was to move one to a different place. Afterall, we have lots of choices now in Eugene. Unlike growing up in the Whitaker District as a kid in the 70s. 😁Im writing this for the owner to process because my mom respects him and told me he is a really great guy. This type of practice can kill a business very quickly. Ive seen it happen first hand at a place I used to work. Please track her attitude and possible comments. She was so extremely rude it prompted this review, which I only do in extreme cases.

I had first learned of Equiano coffee from the Kiva market down the bulk isle and the thing that caught my eye was the profile of the bean. You gotta get up close. A medium roast and the pleasing look of carefully sorted and selected coffee beans. To me, this meant specialty and upon further inquiry found a great, chill vibe full espresso cafe. Single origin and so many unique varieties. I would recommend a visit with the mimosa tree in the courtyard as it is so inspirational. Anyway Ive been essetially obsessed with this coffee ever since and the community is awesome too of course!
