Lovely ladies working here that make amazing coffee! If you’re new they give you the rundown. I highly recommend trying their Valentine’s Day flavors/concoctions! I got their Dark Chocolate Cherry hot coffee. It’s a big roomy area and they have extra couch seating next door. Very comfy and enjoyable. Also they have a pretty good food selection (like breakfast wraps). I’ll definitely be back!

Breakfast was fresh & DELICIOUS! I had the breakfast burrito & it was scrumptious! Hubby had the breakfast croissant with bacon, egg, & cheese. Very good prices for the combos. Service was fantastic. Clean & comfortable place. Highly recommend.

The Mug Coffeehouse has one of the best iced lattes Ive had so far this summer. The coffee house had enough seating to be physically distanced from other customers so thats a bonus! This is a nice, thoughtful coffee shop with delicious drinks. I would definitely recommend stopping by to those in the Excelsior Springs area.

Stopped in to get some work done in a quiet setting. The cafe is beautiful and has art hung up all around! The coffee is roasted in Excelsior (super neat!) and tastes delicious. They have a menu with crazy flavors that I would have never thought to put in my coffee! I tried the Peach Cobbler Latte. Feels like I’m back in Brooklyn at an artsy little coffee shop & yet I didn’t even have to leave Excelsior!

They were out of most things we were trying to order and the breakfast was cold, biscuits were hard and bland. The coffee I did get was good flavor and our muffin was good

I try SO HARD to just leave it alone when Im dissatisfied with a place. I give it multiple tries first, and I try to make sure its nothing on my end that leads to a negative experience (ie not clarifying iced coffee instead of hot). But unfortunately, today is the day I leave a bad review. I use to go to this place when it was in downtown, and the only complaint I had about it then were the sandwiches were kind of basic. But the drinks and everything else were amazing. This location started off pretty good, but they quickly started getting orders wrong. Like EVERY SINGLE TIME. My friend literally cannot have gluten, and we would get home to see they smothered gravy all over her custom order. We specifically said no gravy. Their coffee use to be the best Ive ever had. Their lattes were rich in flavor and simply delicious. Now, no matter what I get, it is watery, bland and Ive had to ask for multiple syrup shots because even after stirring, I dont taste anything. They literally get every order wrong. Today I made my order SUPER simple, but the bagel tasted like it was sitting out to get stale and hard for a week. The sandwich wasnt even heated thoroughly, and my hazelnut coffee with half and half tasted like one shot of thin coffee with iced water and splashed with almond milk. Im sorry. Im not returning again. My friends order was completely wrong again, and I had to find somewhere else to eat breakfast because hers was covered with gravy again, and my bagel, I couldnt even chew it.

I make a weekly stop at The Mug Coffeeshop or I start to have withdrawals. Lots of tasty treats, like this pound cake muffin, donuts, cookies, or scones! They have a large menu of both coffee, lemonade, and tea flavors that are delish! Great place to have a one on one meeting, friendly owners, and perfect atmosphere!

Was my favorite spot to get coffee.... lately that had not been the case. Long lines that take forever... so then they tell you to order on the app to have it in time and theyll bring it out. First time I ordered I got to the location and it was closed for the day for maintenance. Now today I ordered for curbside and get there and theres yet again a sign that says drive thru only. They wont answer the phone to answer if theyre still bringing it out. So had to sit in their long line that I was avoiding so I could make it to work on time. But now Im late. I would have just went on to work, but paid over $6 for my coffee already. This place could be amazing if they could figure it out.

Literally every time I come it is better and better. I am loving the good vibes menu! Got a banana bread iced latte and it is seriously delicious!!

They always get my order right and are so quick and extra friendly. Most mornings, they even remember me AND my order and miss me when I have been gone for a while! I absolutely love this place and would recommend them to ANYONE.

If anyone that works here ever has a bad day, you definitely dont know it!! Prompt excellent customer service, creative drink recipes, seasonal specials, & AMAZING baked goods. I personally have not had their lunch menu but I hear great things. I love the drive-thru option when I dont have as much time to relax inside. Make sure to ask for a Punch Card, & then keep going back to fill it up! 🥤

Waited in line for 30 min., finally when in side. Waited 15 min. They had no change so a cup of coffee 5$. Coffee was good. Not the way to get customers.

The place and menu are absolutely amazing, best smoothie I have had. My husband wished he had noticed that the Wild menu was coffee related because he wanted to try some but had already ordered a normal latte. The service was a little odd though, regarding the conversations the employees were having with each other and the fact that two employees did not seem like enough once the lunch rush started filing in.

Came here because of the lack of breakfast spots in Excelsior, ordered 2 combos one with a sausage and egg on croissant and they tell us they haven’t got time to make more eggs and are out… ordered the biscuits and gravy and what a disgusting disappointment that was… the gravy looked like it came from a powder mix and the biscuits were like eating a wet cardboard box…trip to here… never again… guess you live and learn

The smoothie I tried was really good. Cool that they roast their own coffee here too. Breakfast burrito wasnt the best Ive ever had but it definitely hit the spot and was reasonably priced.

Such a wonderful treat! The lemon muffin was delicious. I like that the coffee flavors are always slightly different. It shows the hand made freshness. Never disapointed. So many flavors to choose from! Tea flavors abundant also.The breakfast food is very good. Meals even! It is so relaxing to sit & look at local artists paintings showcased on the walls. The owner is almost always there to great you with a smile. She is the sweetest! A+ place. A must visit place!

Just got done enjoying a wonderful chicken Azteca bowl and a Hawaiian green tea from the comfort of my own car after going through your drive thru! Both were delicious! I highly recommend The Mug!!And...Thank you to the very friendly young man in the drive-thru window who suggested the Hawaiian tea.....Amazing!!!

Stopped in for a late breakfast while visiting Excelsior Springs. I had and Iced Turtle coffee and a cinnamon roll. Both were delicious. The space is modern, simple, and very clean. They roast their own beans and the machine/process is right there for you to see. Will definitely be back.

Awesome atmosphere and such happy faces everytime! Some friends took me on Halloween for a trunk or treat and I havent looked back at any coffee shop since, this is my favorite! I dont live close but i stop by usually once a week now when I go through! Weve been in for a quick cup of coffee, and been in for breakfast, coffee and using their wifi for school things in the back room! Very cozy atmosphere.

Please make your blended coffees taste like coffee instead of sugary sweet stuff. Iced coffees should still taste like coffee.

Staff was patient and helpful. We were visiting from TX and needed a few cup cakes for a birthday celebration. We bought, one each of lemon, chocolate, and carrot cup cakes. All were moist and are listed in our preference of tastiness. They werent overly sweet which was a fabulous surprise. Also bought 2 cake pops. They were quite good as well. Mostly moist cake, not too sweet and not overloaded with icing. One cup of coffee, it was just strong enough, not overly roasted.

Blended coffee barely had any flavor, iced coffee had so much that I had to mix it with the blended

The best coffee around! Their Guatemalan, black, is my favorite, but when I go sweet, they make my “caramel latte, extra shot, no too sweet” perfect every time.

Staying in town for a quick vacation and needed a small breakfast. This is a great place! Greeted us as soon as we entered. Accommodated our lower temp drinks. Tried the bagel breakfast sandwich and loved it. Along with the coffee cake. It was awesome to see local regulars chit-chating. Cozy atmosphere. I am so glad local places stay small to keep customer friendly.

We each had a hot latte and they were fantastic! We also ordered a breakfast burrito and a smothered breakfast sandwich. Everything was fresh and delicious and the staff was very friendly. We loved it!

We were at The Mug on Saturday because we heard the biscuits and gravy were bomb. Guess what? They were delicious. My wife and friends had the cinnamon rolls and loved them also. Highly recommend this place. It is very small townish with everyone coming and going knowing each other. Kim, the owner makes everyone feel special. High fives to The Mug.

Drive-thru was great! Fast and good food and coffee.

The Mug has healthy food options such as wraps and smoothies. I recommended the tropical smoothie and definitely recommend the coffee. They have great art work displayed and the staff is extremely nice and helpful.

Fantastic little coffeehouse! I had the iced carmel latte and sausage, egg and cheese bagel. I dont usually like coffee that isnt sweetened because the coffee, from most other places, is bitter even if you add milk to it but this was so smooth. Kim is super sweet and helpful.
