Here you pay a fixed amount (10 dollars for example) and you can eat and drink as you please. there are options of salads, hot dishes, pizzas, fries, fruits and sweets. depending on the time you arrive the options change and sometimes some dishes are missing. there is an option for allergy sufferers too.
Food could be better but its college food so. Not really expecting much at least its all you can eat I guess.
Good price for an all you can eat at a college good food too
The place is very chaotic and unorganized. The menus online do not match what is offered. They did not have any halal options even though it is included in the menu. It’s very intimidating for a first comer. My experience was a mess that left me disappointed and unfulfilled
Good variety, usually there are veggie and halal options as well. Lots of healthy options, although I should say thay it used to much better a few years back.
Excellent food, excellent service.
Good college food
Extreamly hit or miss. Go to ikes instead.
Decent food.
My savior during undergrad. I’d love to come here during all-nighters for a break and some food to fuel up. Good eats, good memories. Will always be grateful to Southside xx
Best food ever ! No longer hungry😄
All you can eat buffet usually crowded at night. Dish conveyor belt for your plates and cups. COVID strict rules. Usually has everything a person needs for all meals of the day. However, sometimes the food is stale or has little to no flavor.
Food is generally pretty good; That is, when its actually put out. Service is consistently slow, which is a huge issue during weekday lunch and dinner. Speed in the workers needs a huge improvement, in all areas; silverware, food, etc.
These folks have gone all out to insure a clean, safe, and delicious meal experience for the entire GMU community. Job well done to the Sodexo crew!
The dining hall is good because it serves a variety of food every day, but if you do not like the meals that change daily, then you have to eat what is there every day. This can get old after a while. During busy hours, it is hard to find a seat, but during times when there are few students, it is a nice environment to enjoy a meal.
All u can eat. went once pretty decent! ice cream was slightly hard to get during peak lunch time. was pretty busy and backed up dish washing. special employees and composting practices{as well as 10 dollar price} make relatively green and compelling.. wish people would still waste as little as possible!
Lots of variety. Good food. Value for money.Their salad bar is excellent. The Japanese live counter may not as good as the others though.
I like the dining hall. I was an occasional visitor and really liked the variety. The staff follows food safety guidelines very closely. It is a place where you can wear whatever you want and eat cereal anytime of day. If youre coming from off campus the parking can be a little tricky especially with the ongoing Construction. If youre already on campus I would recommend going but I do not recommend making a special trip to go to the dining hall..... unless you really liked the food in college.
There are soooo many options. My favorite is the smoothie place. The staff are helpful and courteous. Asking for a dish without a specific ingredient is simple and easy. the Pho inspired dish was nice but would have been better if the broth was hotter and the noodles were either cooked a little longer or sat in the broth a little longer to make them soft. The variety of bagels feels endless and the sandwich customization is perfection.
Cheap All-You-Can-Eat food. Good value sometimes, other times you feel ripped off. They always overcook all meats to dry flakes, except for a few rare selections from time to time. Special theme days are always nice. Always ask to check out the food before you pay to get in.
For a college dining hall its honestly not that bad. Dont get me wrong, if this were a real restaurant itd get 1 star but as a dining hall that serves hundreds of students a day it does a fine job.
The food here is better than Ikes, but sometimes they have some misses
Lots of different choices. Cafeteria style but much more open, you dont wait in a line but can go to two or so different counters for different kids of foods. Also, they did a fine job preventing cross-contamination for their gluten-free options. Lots of healthy choices, but they also have pizza and ice cream. Very good value.
It is good for a dining hall. That being said, once youve eaten here many times, it starts to feel same-y.
Decent food, cheap cost and it shows in the food. A big mess hall that occasionally has good food. The rest of the time is average.
Usually provides a decent selection but quality and taste very much vary day to day. A lot of times only a handful of each dish is available before theyre quickly taken. Staff could also be more courteous.
Southside is okay. It’s a dining hall and they do occasionally have pretty good food. More often than not though they have average dishes that French repeat every single day.
Plentiful food and decent service, but quality of food and variety of options disappoints. For regular customers (e.g. students), youll be disappointed by the limited rotation of menus and lack of exciting flavors. The full self service salad bar is perhaps one of the few bright spots, and the simple servings corner has inconsistently good offerings.
There are many kind of dishes. In particular, you can have vegetables, important as balanced diet as well as warm hamburgers and sandwiches. Icecream and coffee are also offered as desserts.
Fills my gut and tastes way better than Ikes!
Well, theres food. Sometimes lots of it, sometimes almost none. Go when its crowded for tons of food and no seating. Go on off hours for cold/stale food, limited options, and all the seating in the world. Theres usually something broken or empty. Cups are perpetually and suspiciously dirty. Background music is hilarious. Entrance staff are genuinely friendly. The managers do what they can but its a lost cause.
Not only a variety of foods but also great quality!
Prepared food was cold and dried out from sitting under the lamp, but good flavors. Good selection, and like that they put calories, allergens, ingredients and vegan or veg so you know whats in everything. Theyve been out of vegan meats and cheeses for weeks, though.
Excellent selection and happy, helpful staff. Great bargain
Its a 24x7 buffet with amazing variety of food!
A much better option then Ikes
Pretty noice not gonna lie theres Quite the variety, also not gonna lie.
Was invited to George Masons Southside Dining Hall..and it was great food & great company & fellowship..great Resurrection Sunday!!!😊☝🙏🙌👌👍
You only come here for late night, when the foot is actually maybe passable. But lets be honest, everyone only comes here because of the meal plan.
I really never find anything good to eat here. For anyone who doesnt know, this is a dining which means there is always a rotating menu. The problem is that there usually isnt an appealing meal here. There have been times where I am happily surprised, but usually is only one element of the whole entree. For example there was a lovely grilled tilapia over a bed of rise that I enjoyed, but right beside it was another side that resembled (potatos? Maybe?) that was gelatinous and like warm. Dishes can only stay so fresh under a heat lamp. Overall, my dining experience at Southside is usually dissapointing to say the most.
Decent food, espeically their breakfast. However, on weekdays it gets pretty packed so its not the most ideal place to eat if you want to get a spot by yourself.
Fine food normally. Recommend the pizza when its fresh and the grilled chicken.
Excellent Fast food
Not a bad place to go, they have variety of option. Of course it is not a fine dining so dont expect so much. But it does have everything you could crave
It is a great option, if you live at Gmu. There is a variety of food, and it tastes good too. I highly recommend you to visit this place, if you are Gmu student
Good at first but gets monotonous over time. Late night is amazing!
Nice cafeteria. Freindly staff.
Love the vegan bar, best range of food options of the dining halls for vegetarians
Its ok
Better than Ikes. I recommend the simple servings section at the back
Iam A CHEF AT SOUTHSIDE . WE HAVE GREAT FOOD. AND THE SERVICE IS AWESOME. PLEASE STOP BY AND VISIT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND 😁
Pretty good allergen free station, however the quality is limited depending on the chef in charge
Nice food for college
It was great. Really enjoyed the experience.
For the price of admission, youre better off going anywhere else to get food on campus. Only for students with meal plans that dont want to walk to Ikes.
Better option than Ikes, but tends to be more crowded. Food is similar to Ikes because Sodexo runs both. Dont expect to be blown away, but if you need food, its not the worst on campus
Great variety of food for the students and the food was tasty. They were also very clean
Quick soup n sandwich-- very yummy
It says theyre open 24/7, yet when i went at 5 in the morning, their doors are locked. False advertising
The only good thing they always have is the sandwich line. and that closes at night and on weekends. its garbage
This place is the worst place I have ever had to eat at. Their food is terrible and all of the employs hate working there and give horrible customer service. I have gotten a burger that was completely uncooked in the center and grilled chicken that was raw. Are you kidding me?! This place is a joke. The only reason I eat there is because I am forced to have a meal plan at GMU and since this place is so bad I have to go eat at Ikes instead. All I can say is this place is GARBAGE.
Love the pizza and Quesadillas
Good food and kept very clean.
Found piece of hair n my salad
Its buffet style serving. Decent vegetarian options. Has a softserve froyo machine.
Great variety, all you can eat.
They have good pasta and fries, but they occasionally run out of Tofurkey at the sandwich station.
The people are nice I guess.
Everything is made fresh
About what youd expect from a college dining hall, though a good range of options and the menu being availible online is super handy
Lots of good food.
Standard Sodexo run boring, penny pinching dining hall
Always busy but theres always seats available. amazing.
Pretty much the same food 24/7
Great dinning options.
Not bad for a dining hall.
Variety selection of food and dessert for only $9.99
Loads of food. Good for school kids
Doesnt have a good variety & gives me diarrhea
Very cheap all you eat worth it
Specially at late night! Excellent!
LOVE THE STAFF LOVE THE FOOD LOVE EVERYTHING
Pretty wack tbh
Im a George Mason Parent. Plenty of options for your student to choose from.
Its ok until you get sick from the raw chicken wings
Very rude staff, terrible food.
The food here is okay. There is an ice cream machine too.
No gluten free options
Speaking as a student, staff is always extremely rude to the customers and each other (hearing them yell at each other isnt uncommon) and the food is mediocre on their best day.
Great selection!
Excellent food
The largest supplier of prison food serves food for over priced purchase.
Its lit
Its awesome
Good place
Expensive for the selection
