I just love this place. My husband and I go frequently. If they dont have it, they will try to get it for you. Best place for Gundams in the area. Will hold books and comics for you. Nice people who are fun to talk to.

I didnt expect my local comic book store to screw over its loyal customers like this. There is a Pokémon card item that is originally supposed to be $119, but they are selling it for $299.99. I expected to be screwed over by the scalpers on Ebay, but not my local comic book store that I have been a loyal customer of for years.

Friendly place and a great variety. I love this place and have been an off and on customer for ages.

The staff is always excellent and knowledgeable about all the stock in the store and can find anything you are looking for.

Weve been going here as long as its been in this location. Always a great stock of items and the new expanded game room is pretty fly. Fun fact, I walked this store many times to help quicken labor with the same son who then came back years later to learn how to play Pokemon. Its a family affair!

Always a good experience whenever I come in. Whether its looking for something specific (usually D&D-related) or just taking a look around, the staff is always friendly and I always find something interesting even if its not specifically what Im looking for.

My husband loves this place he can ways find something he doesnt have due to their great large selection available.

Very friendly staff, definitely wear your mask at this store. There are at least 6 signs telling you to wear them. Prices are on the average to a bit higher. Selection is good on many levels.

Cool store but ultimately overpriced and non competitive. I paid 70$ over what an item was selling for an ebay/tcgplayer/Amazon/mm. Unwilling to match prices when they charge 25-30% over competitors. If you want people to support local LGS you cant rip them off. Miniature market has much better deals and is only a 30 minute drive.

The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate. Great inventory selection but unfortunately the prices leave a little to be desired. I understand trying to compete with online prices is next to impossible given the cost to maintain such an impressive store front. If price wasnt a concern for me Id shop there for everything.After a multitude of additional visits I find it necessary to edit my review. The prices are far more competitive than I initially thought. While its still true that they are a tad bit shy of true competition with online prices, the store itself far makes up for that. The store seems to always have, in stock, the items that I need but arent I stock anywhere online.Overall an amazing store.

Before the pandemic, I would have rated it a 5. It had the look, feel, and spirit of your local game store. The employees were friendly and always willing to help. It was great.Fast forward to after the pandemic, and the vibe has changed. IMO its lost that local game store feel and is now more of a corporate feel. In order to play there, you have to pay $5. You get that back in store credit, but I dislike the policy. Let me play and Ill buy something if I want to.not because I dont want my store credit to go to waste. Also, you cant eat while playing games!!! Whoever heard of a board game day without munchies. While Im on the topic of the game room, there is a teller stationed there which also gives it that corporate feel. Like theyre always watching....1984 Game store version.In the main store, you had a few tellers who pretty much stayed behind the counter. Chit chatted with the customers and were always ready to help if needed. Gone are those days. Its all bizzness and now we have roving patrols always willing to help. Can I help you find anything.....Do you want to know more about.... Have you seen.... etc. Leave me alone and quit watching to see if I pause by a game so that you can rush over and help me. Let me doooo itI will say the refurb looks very nice and they still have a nice assortment of merchandise.If there is a game day or my group want to play there, Im willing to go, but I wont vote to go there to hang out anymore. Its a shame, I really enjoyed going there and play some games, look around, throw some coin their way every now and again in a relaxed local game store setting. I imagine that all the changes have been good for business, otherwise why do it. Its still a shame though, but I wish them nothing but the best!!IMO, I would ditch the roving patrols, remove the game room warden, allow eating (You can hire a cleaning person from the money saved by the removal of the sharks circling around looking for victims), and overall ditch the corporate vibe and return to local game store vibe. If I want a sanitized and sterile vibe, Ill go to MM. Which, if Im being honest, doesnt feel as sterile as Fantasy is now.This is just my opinion, and Im probably in the minority, so take this with a grain of salt. Like I said earlier, best of luck, I wish you guys all the best and hope the facelift works for you.EDIT: Im not sure how to respond to owner reply, so I apologize if this isnt the way youre supposed to do it.I changed the review to a 4 with the change in eating policy.As for the DM fee, it applies to everyone not just D&D players. I dont play D&D (Anymore at least). However, I do agree that volunteer DMs deserve some compensation.

Went here my first time today. The store looks so much larger on the inside. I was looking for some Games Workshop products and they did not disappoint. I was really impressed. The staff was nice and I’ll definitely be coming back.

Ive been a Star Clipper customer for years, starting from their UCity location. When they moved to Illinois, I was afraid I would have to set up my pull list elsewhere. After a few months of ordering by mail (a very easy process, by the way),I decided to try and find the actual store.Thanks to Google Maps, I made it. Love the setup.It would appear I havent lost my favorite store after all.

I cant say enough about the crew at Fantasy. Ive been supporting for about 15 years now and highly recommend them or any of their sister locations throughout the area. Great selection of many different collectibles and comics.

Love this game store, I havent been in, in a while because I moved over to Missouri and of course ...... Covid .... * Does Captain Kirk impression and shakes fist in the air* COOOOVVIIDD .But they have done some amazing things in here opening up a large gaming room in the back for when ever we can all get together and game again. I will be back an hour drive but worth every second of it.

I drive down from Springfield today to buy from them. This was my first time going to the Fairview Heights location, I loved the sheer amount of minis and supplies they had for dungeons and dragons. They really went above and beyond though, because I accidentally threw away my purchase clearing the trash from the roadtrip. I called from Springfield, fully expecting them to not check the can outside or not find them. Who ever is working around 5pm on August 8th 2020 deserves a raise. They found them, and shipped me my order for 5 dollars extra. I love this store. I love this team. I will ALWAYS shop with them. 11/5 stars.

This is my husband’s favorite store. They have a huge selection of books, games, and figures/statues. The staff is very helpful, and they will even hold books for you if you’re unable to make it in one week. We always find something cool there, and they host game nights for those that play. It’s a pretty cool space!

Beyond the massive amount of product that is in this store, which is incredible - comics, trades, games, memorabilia - customers will find a very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. The lay out of the store is very conducive for a great shopping experience. Additionally, with other locations in the St. Louis metro area, if they do not have the product, they make every attempt to locate what you need.

One of the best comic shops Ive ever visited. The staff is super-friendly, the inventory for new books is amazingly deep, and the shop itself is brightly lit and very organized.I have a local comic shop that I visit every week as it is and I *still* make the trip to Fantasy Books at least once a week.

Ive been a customer here for 6 years. I have a comic pull here so I dont miss any new issues which I look forward to going in and getting every week. Everyone knows my name and great about handling any request I have. Great selection of old and new comics. I love to to tell people THIS MY COMICS STORE.

These folks know their stuff! They know about new games, release dates, and even specific rules questions. They stock tons of board games, card games, and pop figures, as well as tabletop war gaming supplies. I love coming here to pick up the perfect little gifts for stocking stuffers.

Kinda lame.

The store is well laid out and impressive as you walk in. There is a large space for playing a myriad of table top games in the back. The front of the store has the products laid out by genre. There is an amazing glass display with countless painted models in it. The employees greeted me as I entered the store and were very helpful with my questions and providing directions to the products I needed.

Staff is very helpful and friendly. They have a wide array of games for all different types of gamers. Their selection of comic books and omnibus is unmatched. They have lots of items for fans such as action figures, stuff animals, and an ever-increasing selection of funko action figures. They will hold items for you and contact you when new items in a series are in if you request it. A good place for the whole family. We always have a good time just stopping in and seeing whats new.

Ive tried to like this store, I really tried. I think the stores presentation is nice, its a great looking store front.A lot of times Ive tried to support them, Ive gotten flubbed.If you want something thats not Games Workshop or Magic the gathering its a crapshot.Dont try to order something from them if they dont have it on the shelf. it quickly becomes a confusing mess and a series of condescending comments about whatever it is you want. I tried to get a miniature and was told I Missed my window to order it. The whole ordeal took 20 minutes. After trying to give them money to get me a figure, it took about 30 seconds to order said miniature online.

The store has just about everything you would want as a tabletop gamer, comic book nerd, or someone who enjoys board games. There is plenty of space to gather your crew to play whatever you want. The staff was probably the most personable staff Ive met at a game store of this scale ever. Highly recommend, and will be coming back!

I ordered several boxes of miniatures right at the height of an overall supply shortage of the company in question, and the staff got me my ordered items as soon as they could, with prompt notification that they were ready for me to pick up. This is comics and miniature store that gets my business.
