I’ve been coming here with my boyfriend every time we have a chance. The food is always good and so is the service. Their flat white is probably my favorite coffee drink and the Reuben sandwich is amazing. I usually get the English breakfast but have tried other entrees. Never disappointed.I also appreciate paying up front so that we can leave once we are done eating. Tried to remember to take pictures for this review but immediately started eating.. which is a good thing.

Good service, great food, and excellent coffee.When an espresso has crema that doesnt instantly disappear its an indicator of fresh coffee beans. Which is a rare find. You can tell they take pride in their coffee.The food was great. Capers with eggs benny is something you dont see everywhere but is fantastic.The curry chicken and waffles was original and good but you do have to eat them quickly or they get soggy.They had live music on sunday, I dont know if this normal but it was a nice atmosphere.

We loved the place it’s clean and sanitized every time after each customer. Only thing bad experience water glass smelled like stink.We love the food and person who took our order had explained all the food their have and helped us understand.If you order any coffee be careful here coffee are different style and the way represented. Well maintain and clean place.

I came in today wanting something small. I ordered a kids grill cheese because I imagined it would’ve been something quick to make. One of the owners was right by the cashier so when told the person my order he instantly got upset he shook his head and said “come on man” and both the person taking my order and I hesitated/felt confused. I felt super uncomfortable because after I placed my order and I was waiting on my food I could hear them talking about me and the order I placed. Not even a couple minutes in the person who took my order left with his things. I didn’t understand what the issue was because at the end of the day I am still paying for the food it shouldn’t matter what I order and if you don’t want people ordering a grill cheese don’t have it on the menu period. I appreciate the cashier for being kind and not rushing me but I’m never coming back again this experience ruined it for me

Great little cafe. Perfect for brunch on a chilly rainy Sunday morning. My friend and I started with a Flat White coffe, which is essentially an espresso with steamed milk and a little foam on top. Its served with a shooter of sparkling water and a mini biscuit. Trust me it works. You have to try it at least once.If you like delicate fluffy scrambled eggs and juicy tender pieces of ham get the egg scramble (ham is optional) I also asked for avocado slices on the side because who doesnt love avocado? I also asked for jalapenos. They dont have them, but there is hot sauce. Potato wedges and toast also come with it.My friend got the brioche french toast. Nice soft thick slices of french toast served sides of bacon and sausage. She liked it and she is a picky eater.Stop by. Its a small place in Falls Church with a good vibe.

The service and coffee are good. The food is too but it’s a bit more like Arlington in its prices. Definitely recommend checking it out though as it has a nice atmosphere!

Went for breakfast with my husband & 4 yr old the morning after our road trip up. I needed yummy non junk food breakfast and I found it!! I encountered a delicious vegan-possible menu, warm & helpful people and a super tasty cup of coffee. Loved it so much, the music, ambiance and energizing space...I give it 5 stars all around!! Why would anyone ever go to a Starbucks when you have places like this?!

Love from the first sight with this small coffee shop. Very simple but delicious menu. Amazing coffee. Fresh, full of flavor with perfect milky foam. Guys who are working there very nice and attentive. And their wooden bunch in front of old suitcases just make my heart melt. Grab a book and coffee and spend some time here

Vastly overpriced for what I got. I ordered the citrus salad, which on its own is $9, if you don’t get protein. Had I known I would receive a large handful of lettuce with not even half an orange/grapefruit on top, I would have gone elsewhere. A refund to demonstrate recognition of customer satisfaction would be nice, but I doubt that will happen.

Cafe kindred is GREAT. Their people are exceptionally friendly, service is fantastic, and breakfasts and drinks are delightful. I am often sad they are closed on Monday’s because I want to start my week with a little bite or latte. The biscuits and gravy - eh, but they’re trying something new. I visited cafe kindred last Saturday and cant rave more about it.When you first walk in, you immediately feel at ease. The staff is welcoming and sits you right away. There are different areas of the restaurant: regular tables, high tops, and a bar.My friend and I sat by the windo in these high back leather chairs - so comfy.We started with a loaded bloody merry (sausage, olives and pickles on top) and the apple pama. Both tasted great.For food we ordered the fruity pebble pancakes, baked egg vol au vent and brunch poutine. Each dish was so fabulous.The fruity pebble pancakes were fluffy and warm. Buttery and topped with actually fruity pebbles that gave a true fruity flavor to the stacks.I think the most beautiful dish was the baked egg vol au vent. The pastry itself was golden and buttery and flaky. The egg and cheese and veggie medley was perfect cooked and the flavors tasted great together.Fries and gravy and eggs? Yes please and thats exactly what the poutine was.The presentation of all the dishes was out of this world. I honestly wish I had ordered more just to see all the dishes spread out so nicely.We topped off our brunch with a devious latte and homemade Beignets that were Pipping hot and covered in the best powdered sugar.Great place for watching the English premier league. Youll feel right at home at cafe kindred!

For the price ($$), the food was just okay. The staff were very friendly. I can say I would not go again nor recommend it, sorry. Just too pricey for my tastes.

Fresh and delicious food every time - you definitely get your money’s worth. We loved hanging out here before the pandemic and you can still eat inside - they go above and beyond to clean between customers, social distance and keep everyone safe. Fantastic for breakfast and lunch. Hoping that post-pandemic they start serving dinner again, the chef makes a great variety for dinner that was always a surprise and a treat. Currently easy to order online or go in and order - there is socially distanced seating available inside (and outside while the weather is good). ENJOY!

Service is great, atmosphere is fun, food is good. The reason I cant give this place five stars is menu pricing. Items are priced at a premium but fail to deliver a premium experience.

Delicious breakfast! We had the biscuits and gravy and the meat and taters skillet. Both were perfect portions, not an excessive amount of food. The cappuccino was delicious and the outdoor seating was dog friendly!

They have THE BEST sausage gravy and biscuits!

Wonderful coffee and brunch place! They have a wide coffee selection along with hot tea and a bar for those non-coffee drinkers. The brunch was excellent! I had the avocado breakfast, which was delicious and very hearty. The place isnt very large, so expect crowds and to have to search for seating. Otherwise highly recommend!

Wouldnt dare go anywhere else on a Sunday morning. The best cafe in the Falls Church area bar none! The people there are the coolest and take very good care of their patrons. Best Mocha Ive had anywhere in my life. The food is outstanding as well. Love that avocado breakfast!!

This was my first and last breakfast here. My friends and I ordered brunch for takeout. This cafe doesnt have much to offer when it comes to vegetarian or vegan options, so I went with a classic french toast order. They were out of french toast so instead I ordered blueberry pancakes with a side of over easy eggs. When I got home and opened my order my eggs were missing and my friends eggs were missing as well, so we called back to ask for the two egg orders again. When we picked up our eggs both orders were in the same container and covered in meat gravy.I was quite hungry, so I settled and ate the two gravy-covered eggs and they were very mediocre (bland and a bit gross) considering the price. My meat-eating friend agreed that the eggs and gravy were nothing to write home about.Overall an unpleasant and overpriced experience. Their only redemption was that an employee gave us two croissants as an apology for the first order mishap.

First time here but definitely not the last. Cozy ambience, friendly staff and most importantly fresh and tasty food. Gotta try their baked stuff, pastries are just amazing.

The cashier was so pushy. anything else, guys?, Anything else, guys? The cashier wouldnt let me decide on a drink or even let my friend finish his order, we were always interrupted by the anything else, guys? We were new to this place and the service was rushed. Cashier made this experience very unconformable. The only thing I liked about the place is the decor and the multi grain bread. I felt like the sandwich selection was copied and pasted from Panera Bread. Get a better cashier who doesnt rush guests. Tables were dirty and the AC didnt work in the restroom (humid and warm). Kudos to the decor and the vibe of this place. Yuk to the service.

Super nice people, great service. I had breakfast and it came out promptly and perfectly. My latte was picture perfect. And I didnt get stink eye when I stayed for 45m to have a conference call. Will return for a weekend brunch when possible.

I have to admit that I’ve never been one to order sandwiches or think anything of cafe food, but wow this place was amazing. I had a toasted roast beef sandwich for lunch one day and the garlic spread they used was so delicious. It was so good that I went there for breakfast the next day for a chocolate croissant. That was just as delicious. The cafe is very clean and orderly and I had no worries about sanitation. There are contactless options available and it is so simple. I am excited to visit this place once it is fully operational again to visit the Townshend Bar side of the place. Again, I cannot recommend this place enough.

Amazing place incredible pizza.

Stopped by for a quick visit by our daughters doctors office. Delicious good quality food. Tables are spaced out and have hand sanitizer at each table. We were able to eat comfortably with our stroller by our table.

This is a local favorite of mine. It is right by a parking garage that is free and has plenty of parking. They have a cozy cafe feel indoors with a cafe up front and a little bar in the back that include rotating taps for beer. They have a British rock theme that is fun. The food is excellent in my opinion. I have had their chicken salad sandwich and their American breakfast. Food came on a cute little cutting board. If you dont like salt, they are one of the few places I know of that doesnt overdo it. Their coffee is AMAZING! The customer service is brilliant as well. I bring my baby daughter here on occasion and they have always accommodated us. That makes this a family friendly venue in my book. Cheers! :)

Cafe Kindred is a local treasure. They are open for breakfast and lunch, and they have a full bar. We’ve been there many times and have never had a bad meal. The staff are wonderful and make an effort to get to know their regulars. Get the curry fried chicken and substitute fries for the waffles— boom! We also love the mod/music theme decor. It is small and you may have to wait for a seat, but it’s always worth it.

I try a straight cappuccino wherever I go around the world. No instructions. With that, I feel I get to compare every shop and really enjoy the experience.Kindred is just down the road from me, and I have to say, their cappuccino may just be the best in town - and it certainly competes with the best I’ve ever had. The pastries are beautiful, and they have a great menu with lots of options.It feels kind of like Cheers walking in here. They seem to know us - even if we’re not there every day and that feels great.The music theme to the place is fun. One day, I’ll get up the courage to ask if I can do a set here.Visit Kindred - you’ll have a great time!

I was visiting N Virginia from southern part. Found this place online... if it’s a vary cool environment? In NON COVID world absolutely!!! They have very cute decorations and they serve their food in creative ways but they let everyone in with no limited capacity and the worst thing happened to me that I tried to not leave right away... the guy who was giving me a glass of water throw a piece of lime in my glass with his hand with NO GLOVES!! That’s gross pre COVID AND imagine now! Sorry three stars are my beat try but that using hand was the biggest turnoff and not sure if i ever wanna come back!

I had one of the worst customer experiences of my life this morning in this coffee shop. My fiancé and I had woken up early to get coffee and finalize our guest list for our wedding- we were so excited for this moment! We sat down outside after ordering our coffee and opened our laptop - the second we did an employee came outside and told us we were not allowed to use our laptop- in a coffee shop that has wifi posted on a large sign. He condescendingly told us “how about you guys just chat?” as if I was incapable of having a conversation with my own fiancé . We were so flustered that we asked for to-go cups and left. The shop was almost completely empty outside- now I know why.

These folks are top notch and serve excellent fare. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the soccer on TV. The owner is a Liverpool fan, so make sure you give the team a shout out, lol. We had finished our food had left and were on our way to our bikes, when he ran after us with the Metro card I had dropped! Such a kind act from a class act outfit. We’ll be sure to come back:)

Delicious sandwiches and croissants! The eggplant, goat cheese, spinach sandwich with tomato spread on multi-grain bread is bursting with flavor! All the ingredients blend well together and quite filling. Only minor complaint is the kettle chips, there was something kind of fishy about them. I was substitute them for a side salad or fruit.My hubby loves the buttery flaky croissant bacon and cheese sandwich. The plain egg and cheese croissant is a bit bland and wasnt a fan of the American cheese. The home fries are tasty!The decadent pastries are fun to try, the chocolate croissant and apple cinnamon roll are scrumptious!The mimosas with fresh OJ are pretty tasty and well worth the $5.My hubby enjoys the cappuccinos topped with a cute heart, and got another topped with a cool design!It gets packed on the weekends and even on the weekdays, so be prepared to wait and scour like a hawk for a table. The service is a bit slow and flighty. Ive come here twice and the server has forgotten part of our order like a pastry or a drink. The cafe is generally short-staffed.The breakfast and lunch menu are served all day, great spot for brunch!

Came for brunch on a Saturday and the restaurant was very busy with both dine-in and takeaway orders.The menu is pretty extensive with various savory and sweet breakfast options as well as plenty of caffeinated drinks to choose from. We ordered a veggie scramble and the croque madame. The counter was overly busy and one barista was making all the drinks and ringing up customers. I didnt get my latte until right before our meal arrived - wish I had it sooner. The croque madame was also quite small - typically you will find a larger piece of bread with the toppings, but this was a basic sandwich bread. The salad and other veggies used in the dishes were fresh. We would come back, perhaps hopefully when its not as busy and hectic.

The place is very nice and the employee treats them classy and nice. I am so glad I visited and will come again.

Cafe Kindred and Townshend Bar is the best around.As soon as I walked in I felt the vibe. When they say its laid-back their not kidding. The music, decor, people who serve, and even the no laptop policy after 5:00pm or on the weekends helps ensure this is the place to come to unwind for a pick me up and chat with friends.Atmosphere aside, the food and coffee is amazing. Highly recommend the Cold Brew coffee and Pastrami sandwich. If you like something sweet their Brownie and French Toast is where its at--delicious!Whether you are near Falls Church or want to make a trip to get amazing food/drinks and unwind, Cafe Kindred and Townshend Bar is the place to go!:-)

This is a cute little place at falls church for good coffee and English breakfast! Staff are always friendly. Tables at the front get taken fast but you can still order the same food and drinks at the bar in the back. They use beans from Vigilante and offers flat white. Whenever we have a craving for English breakfast we would come here. Heinz beans cant be beat!

So, I ordered the chicken salad... the chicken tasted old and dry. No flavor whatsoever. The salad was huge with only 3 little medley strips of chicken... the hot chocolate was delicious though.

Ive only been here for breakfast/brunch, but I love this place. My favorite fare is the avocado breakfast - a couple of eggs over easy with some dashes of hot sauce, half an avocado sliced, sliced cherry tomatoes, and good multi-grain toast - with the fresh house-brewed iced green tea. The pastries and coffee are also tasty.Its a great place to bring kids. Its clear how much the owner and the people who work here enjoy what they do and care about giving their customers a quality experience.

I absolutely LOVE this place. The owner is upfront and ready for conversation, the staff is so welcoming. I work right across the street and come in pretty often, that they remember my name. Its always super nice to walk into a place and get greeted as if you are apart of the family. My go to is the Bacon Cheeseburger, but i have also tried the Roast beef sandwich and OMG it was terrific. All in all I would highly recommend this place. 10/5 stars in my book!!!

Cute breakfast and brunch place with great food and drinks. Can get pretty busy on weekends and seating is limited so show up fairly early to get a spot. Mix of tables, a few bar seats and my favorite table and armchairs by the door. Easy parking in the garage next to the restaurant.

What a cool local cafe, much needed in the neighborhood. I love the lack of laptops. Breakfast/brunch is delicious--the spinach-egg sandwich and pancakes especially. Fantastic coffee and cappuccino, and the croissants are top notch. Kid friendly, though it does get crowded if you get there later.

Great place! High quality cup of coffee, friendly staff, and awesome atmosphere. If you enjoy classic rock, just browse their vinyl collection for a bit or otherwise just hang out and enjoy. They hooked me up with a nice breakfast and I got some work done on a casual Friday morning with a bit of friendly conversation in between with the couple of people running the place. Im so happy to have found this wonderful independent coffee shop, something this area was sorely lacking! The staff is super friendly, and the customer service is excellent. They have a nice food selection, including gluten-free and dairy-free options. And their soups are consistently the best I have had since moving to this area 10 years ago. I have worked their during the week, it is also my go-to place for weekend brunch or lunch. I cant say enough good things about Cafe Kindred!

Great breakfast and brunch spot. Went on a Saturday morning around 11:30 and they had EPL games on and a great vibe going. Wife had the French Toast which she loved and I had biscuits and gravy which was also good. Only complaint is I prefer the heavy a touch thicker.If you want to jam they have guitars lining the walls with play me stickers.

Sorry we waited so long to come here! Our 2 kids were entertained by the books, trains, and blocks. My husband ate every bite of his burger and fries, and I enjoyed the cobb salad. The service was quick and friendly. Cant wait to go back!

What a cute, little spot! I went there for the first time today to have a book club meeting. A little crowded during brunch hours but we were all able to find a little nook to have our meeting. Coffee was delicious, service was good and food looked great. Will definetely be going there again.

Friendly service, nice atmosphere, great soundtrack. Turkey Avocado BLT is pretty good too. Dont treat it like a Starbucks, its a local independent shop. I ordered a sandwich and brought my laptop in on a weekday for a couple hours- no problem. Look forward to going back

Hands down one of the best venues in Arlington. Amazingly chill vibe, friendly owners and staff, and great food (whether breakfast, lunch or dinner). Full bar (with great Bloody Marys if you are going for weekend brunch) and kid friendly (toys there for kids). Easily 5 stars!!!

Really cute coffee shop/restaurant/bar. Very laid back eclectic feel. We even brought our toddler and everyone was friendly to him and the seating at the couch with a coffee table was perfect. We will be back for other meals for sure. No live music when we went but were excited to check it out.

Just discovered this great local cafe and bar. Great service, drinks and food. FYI there is free parking in a covered garage in back. One garage entrance is a few doors down from the front door of the cafe. We will definitely be regulars!

Decent coffee, good food, friendly staff. Ridiculous policy of no laptops on weekends? Dont be a person with things to do. If you want to sit with friends or family and drink coffee, this is a great spot. If you have anything you actually need to accomplish, make sure you dont need an evil laptop.
