I had my short hair cut here about three weeks ago I had to leave my hair stylist of 12 years because of the lax masking policy. I brought a couple of pictures with me because my hair had a grown a little too much for any stylist to follow the way Ive worn it for years. She had to go to her car to retrieve her clippers. This was a red flag, already. When she came back, she asked me to fold my ears back to cut around them! She still did an awful job. When she cut the rest of my hair, she destroyed the entire shape by cutting off most of the short crown and not even with any precision. Every single area of my hair is chopped up, including the back. Thank heaven I didnt let her cut my bangs. Had she done that, I would have had to buy a wig until my hair grew in. Now I have a huge challenge to find someone willing and able to start repairing my haircut! The stylist was sweet but obviously knew nothing about cutting short hair. Truly my worst cut in 40 years! I felt badly for her for some reason and left her a good tip.This totaled a lot of money down the drain. I wasnt going to post a review but when I read the many rave reviews she has received, I had to warn anyone with short hair to stay away from one of your Elite stylists.job even then. When she finished

I was disappointed when I found out my usual stylist no longer worked here. I didn’t know who I could really trust with my hair. The reviews recommended Susana so I booked an appointment with her for color and cut. She took her time to discuss options, and I showed her prior pictures of my hair color as well. The entire time she was so focused and detail oriented. I mean she really took her time to make sure everything was perfect. I could tell she loved her job and knew her job very well. She wasnt even half way through blow drying my hair and I already loved it. That never happens! All that to say I am so relieved and thrilled to find a new stylist. I would highly recommend Susana for color and cut. Thank you so much, Susana!

The staff was seriously inattentive. It took about fifteen minutes for someone to do a color match which included her looking at me and handing me a color that should match. I took it home and it did not come close to matching (it was incredibly orange on my skin). I returned everything I purchased as I didnt need $80 of makeup that made me look like an oompa loompah.I understand with covid that trying on makeup has changed however sephora at Springfield mall did an actual match and allowed me to try several shades. I found a good option at sephora and would recommend them!

If you want someone to do your hair while having a good time and endless laughs see Peggy. She understands all your hair issues without the judgement at all. I recommend the services at Ulta always but Peggy is absolutely amazing

I prefaced the cashier that the chip in my card was bad so I would need to swipe it or have them type the card number in. I was fully prepared to pay, chip didnt work. I asked them if I could have them type in the card number, she rolled her eyes in my face, and they a snide un, no, and then proceeded to go whisper something to the cashier in the next space. I told them I would have to forfeit buying the products and she just shrugged. Super rude. Super unprofessional.

Today I went to ultra to buy shampoo and other stuff, and I met kenza who was very kind with me. Seriously she has helped me a lot to find the best product that can work good for my hair. Thanks kenza for everything you have done for me .

I got my hair dyed and cut here by Susana and I couldnt be happier with the job she did. She did an AMAZING job! Im usually nervous to get my hair cut at salons because I dont want too much cut off but Susana was very careful to not cut too much off and made sure I was happy with the length before cutting and it turned out great. She very patiently talked through my options with hair dying and cared a lot about minimizing damage to my hair which I appreciated. I was trying to get my hair color matched with my roots and she perfectly selected a color that matched my roots. I am really happy with how Susana did my hair and I plan on coming back next time I need anything done with my hair. On top of being great at what she does, Susana is very nice and made the experience great from start to finish. Id give her more than 5 stars if I could!Thank you, Susana!!

I went to go get my hair colored at the Ulta Salon. I saw Parima. She did an amazing job. I wanted to go from a super blonde balayage to a warm blonde/brown, a reverse balayage. She made sure I was happy with my hair. Recommend going to see her she’ll make sure you’re happy

I had my haircut by Parima in the salon. She is an excellent stylist and was very nice and informative. I usually have trust issues with stylists, but she was great!

A few days ago, I went for a hair cut in their Leesburg Pike brunch. The lady who worked on my hair is named “Scarlet”. She is such a talented, sharp, sweet, and professional hairdresser who worked hard on my hair. She didn’t let me go until my hair got the shape that I wanted. I am fully satisfied with the service that I received and I highly recommend Scarlet For a hair cut. She is very patient and knows what her customer wants!

GET YOUR HAIR DONE BY PEGGY! I went to get my hair dyed from an embarrassingly grown out balayage to a very light blonde balayage and she nailed it! My hair is incredibly think and long and unfortunately didn’t take to the bleach as we thought the first go around (though it did lighten quite a bit) and Peggy did another round and a deep conditioning treatment and we were able to achieve my goal in one day! (Thankfully because I was going on a trip the next day and she wanted me to look and feel good) She’s also the friendliest hair stylist I’ve ever worked with! Not only is she super nice and able to literally carry on a conversation which is bound to make you laugh, but she also remembered the things I told her and made me feel so welcomed when I went back a week later for a hair cut, which is also a milestone because I’ve never gone to someone twice!All in all, if you’re looking for a clean salon, a very reasonable price and to achieve your desired hair goals definitely recommend this location and highly suggest booking with Peggy! ❤️(Posting before and afters)

I took my daughter here and was helped by John Paul Hamilton. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. Another person came up to him while he was talking to us and he stopped what he was doing to speak to this person, while we waited for him in disbelief. He was talking about doing drugs and pretty sure he bought them from this person. Unbelievable experience!

The manager who was at baileys croassroads on 8/26/2020 was very rude and not professional. She needs more training on how to provide a good customer service. All staff were friendly except her. She may need vacation to recharge.

The hair salon here is TERRIBLE. I went back in March to get highlights in my hair (my hair was already blonde) and the stylist Annemarie dyed my hair almost black with orange highlights. Then after ruining my hair I had to go to another salon and pay $500 to fix the damage that the salon stylist Annemarie did. She did a terrible job and ruined my hair that i spent YEARS in making my hair blonde. I was also at the salon for 7 HOURS. The salon manager left the store before we were even done with my hair and NEVER checked to see how I was doing after being there for HOURS. This is the WORST salon I have ever been to. DO NOT waste your money here. I still have nightmares from this experience and my hair is still very damaged from it and it’s months later. DO NOT GO TO ANNEMARIE or this salon! You will regret it. I’ve always had good experiences with Ulta...until this last one. The store was understaffed and I needed assistance to be shade matched. The only shade that ever matched me was discontinued so I needed someone who could help me decide what would work best for me. I had to wait in line just to ask someone to help match me. I explained to her that my skin is a very hard match but she insisted I get this specific shade of Clinique without trying anything else. It was obvious she was trying to rush me. I kept saying that it was too light but she continued to explain that my skin would lighten in the winter and went on to refute that I was a “hard match.” Well, after I decided to give it a chance, I completely regret it. I’ve had friends even comment on how pale I look now. I’m upset that the staff didn’t just take the time to make sure I was satisfied. I will not be returning and plan to take my skin care business elsewhere from now on.

Variety is the spice of life so if you want to feel really alive go to Ulta Beauty. There are so many varieties and options for everything beauty related. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. You just cant go wrong but, if you do, you can return or exchange things easy peasy.

Every time I visit Ulta at Bailey’s Crossroads, their employee CJ is very rude and unprofessional. Instead of taking care of the customer he decides to get very rude and sassy. If he wants to be sassy he should not be working at Ulta and definitely should not be a manger. Is this the type of people Ulta decides to hire?

Recently went in and as always spent some time there. Three associates offered their assistance which was great! The prices are good in my opinion. They dont over charge. The selection is very good. I like to come here for drugstore makeup and supplies without going to the actual drugstore to get points. Reason for one less star is because I used the restroom and it wasnt the cleanest. Also, I waited in line longer than I think I should have. There was one associate on the register. All in all Ive only had good experiences here.

Clean, bright store. The associates arent always helpful, but they try. The salon quality varies greatly by who you book your appointment with. Niana has cut/colored my hair a few times now and she does a great job.

I used to have to call around to look for a specific salon shampoo until I found this place. Yeah, I must be living under a rock, right? Seems like I never got the memo that this place existed.Huge selection selection of salon quality items and and the sales are ridiculous! Their point system sounds reasonable at around 3% back or more when all said and done.

The worst customer service ever. Made an appointment online. Went to the store said they never had my appointment. Okay fine. TheLady with purple hair managing the salon accused me of lying . Are u sure you made it for this location” and then she proceed to name the rest of the ULTA locations in the NOVA area.Someone made a last minute appointment. I had been waiting for over 30 minutes and they turned me away. For someone who called 5 minutes ahead and made an appointment. Karen the person who was supposed to cut my hair came back and said oh you wanted a haircut today....YES....thats why I have been waiting 30 minutes.Never going back. Worst customer service ever. They made me sit there and waste my time. And didnt even apologize for being rude or try to mitigate the situation.

An amazingly huge selection of beauty products, from lipstick and foundation to nail polish and skin care! I liked that they had different kinds of name brands from smashbox to Maybelline. I found what I was looking for but it did take a while as the store was huge but not many staff members on the floor available to help with questions, especially with someone who is new to make up like me. The few staff members I did encounter were friendly and helpful enough, I will say if you come in here know what you are looking for.

Public service announcement: dont got on Sundays during December because stock will be low. Overall, though, this store meets my expectations for a good Ulta.

In store testers to try and deals not offered online, got an $80 moisturizer for $20. Even when busy the experience is pleasant. Ill be coming back here again.

Went today for the 21 days of ulta and had a lot of staff helping .one of the managers greet me and was very helpful . When I walk to make up stores I feel like they dont want to help me because I look like a little girl, that was not the case here. I just wish they would always stock up things . Otherwise its great !

Two associates stuck out at this location. Vee and Clarissa were friendly and efficient in assisting me with product questions.After a long day at work it was a pleasant surprise to experience great customer service from these two ladies.As for the products, its definitely a great and wallet friendly alternative to Sephora, and has more variety than your regular drug store.Will definitely be back when the time comes and I need to replenish my supplies.

Wife bought a product and they claim if you don’t like it you can return it. She only used it once and the bottle was about 3/4 full. They claimed that it was “almost done” and that if they used it once it wouldn’t be “1/4” empty,, they refused to accept the return.. ulta if you are going to claim that you can return products if you do not like them but don’t at the end of the day then don’t make that claim. Never coming to this ulta or any other ever again.

Ive been to Ulta Salon several times over the last few years for blowouts as an alternative to Dry Bar or Cherry Bar with great service, good rates, & easy booking. I’ve always liked my styles & paid the same price with several different stylists. However they apparently recently changed their pricing structure & the same price service is only a blowout, no heat styling. The manager wanted to charge me $70 for the same thing I can get at any blow dry bar for $45. No reason to go back with prices like that. To make it worse the register won’t take rewards to pay anymore, so now there’s no benefit to going to Ulta. I might go to high end salon for a $70 blowout but certainly not an Ulta. If it’s any credit the last two NYE the salons been packed, this year it was dead. Wonder if the managers service or the price restructuring has anything to do with it.

I had an appointment. They called me while I was driving so I could not answer. Instead of waiting for me to get to my appointment (which I was still 10 minutes early for) they decided to go ahead and take a walk in for one of their friends and push me back. My hair and makeup looked great but it was very stressful since I made a specific appointment that I needed at a specific time, not to be an hour later.

The store is clean and has a wide selection of makeup. I had my brows done at the benefit bar and they looked great!

Ulta at Falls Church has the best salon stylists! I went to Susana and this woman was amazing! I dont trust people with my hair. But she knew exactly what I needed! I went there for highlights and she got all the colors right! I came in hideous and came out perffect! I highly recommend her!

I did my Facial at this location very clean and Excellent Mangement here. I done my facial skin care in very first time from sara which she was new and very experienced also she was certified from board. If had to do or anyone need facial this location is highly recommended.......!

Do not use this falls Church ulta its unfortunate bc the stylists are generally great however even if you make an appointment a month in advance the management ashmar takes it upon herself to cancel appointments she doesnt get a verbal confirmation from despite it not being a company policy or a listed requirement on any website or store portal. Very confrontational and says sorry for the customers feelings. This place will not be getting my money or the multiple friends Ive brougt in for services .

Let me start by saying that I LOVE ULTA! So many great selections and varieties of makeup and skincare. However, I just moved to the area and this particular location is the closest to me. I went on Saturday around 2pm. To say that their customer service was poor would be an understatement. I was ignored, not greeted and passed by several times. I wish I could see this particular’s employees name tag. She darn near bumped into me and didn’t say excuse me or anything. She did not greet me or ask if I need assistance with anything. The only kind person that I encountered was an African American woman that had platinum blonde hair. Shout out to her for actually exhibiting good customer service! I expect this type of attitude from Sephora, but not my coveted ULTA. I guess that I’ll be doing all of my shopping online moving forward. I literally encountered at least 5 employees and only one was pleasant. Never again... so disappointed.

I went to the salon to get a blow out with curls (I had just found out that my husband and I were going to one of the official inauguration balls). I only had a day to plan things so I figured a blow out was easy enough. When I arrived for a 3:15 appointment (I admit, I arrived at 3:18) I was told my stylist went on break because I was late. I had to wait until he got back at 3:40 and he proceeded to tell me that he waited for me but I wasnt there for my 3pm appointment. I had to show him the email with my confirmation at 3:15. Anyway, as he was drying my hair, I mentioned that my dress had a high neck. As soon as he heard that, he and another stylist said you cant wear your hair down with that dress! Why would you ever think about keeping it down? You need to put it up! Feeling embarrassed, I reluctantly agreed to let him put it up. As he started, it was slicked back very tight against my head. I said I didnt want something so tight. He said, dont worry, Im just doing the curls. I dont know much about updos so I trusted him. Needless to say, the slicked back look was the basis for the updo. I continued to make small comments throughout the styling but he kept saying, dont worry, its not done. The other stylist kept commenting how beautiful it looked and how my stylist was outdoing himself. In the end, I really disliked the finished product. The front was much tighter than I wanted and the back had huge loopy curls. Bottom line, dont let them bully you into something you dont want. I ended up paying almost $75 for something I didnt like because I felt like I had to go with their advice

Its true the customer service at the Salon desk is pretty bad... have to stand there while the receptionist looks at you but doesnt come over to help. BUT, the new Salon manager Ashley (she used to just be a stylist in the Springfield store) is a terrific stylist- does wonders with both cut and color. I now travel from Springfield to Falls Church just to see her. I cant vouch for other stylists but Ashley is GREAT(and shes super nice on top of it). The cosmetics department does have alot of terrible employees, but there are a few nice good ones that actually WANT to help you out. For cosmetics, the people in the Springfield store are better. Sorry for the REALLY long review-I just want people to get the whole story to explain any bad reviews. And no, I do not or ever have worked for Ulta,just spend a lot of time there.

Credit card FRAUD WARNINGI had to call and cancel a credit card opened under my name and information without me even being present in the store. Anyone who has you info and partial social can open a credit card in this store, they won’t check ID to confirm identity and will not take responsibility.

I love ulta but this ulta doesn’t have the best customer service. The products are great and the store is always really neat but the cashiers/managers are just rude. This is the only ulta I’ve been to where no one has offered to help me. Very weird.

Came here to buy the Soft Glam pallet by A.B.H and it had the sensor on it. I had it in the shopping bag along with other items I was buying. The sensor started to go off, Yasmeen comes over and takes the pallet out of the shopping bag and takes it to put behind the counter. Never says hello says something about the sensor being covered, just reaches her hand in the bag and takes the pallet out to put behind the register. I always think twice about coming to this location and the customer is always lacking. Should have gone to Sephora like I originally planned but I needed other things that only Ulta has. At least I dont have to worry about staff walking over and taking things out my bag, not that customer service is that much better at Sephora either.

The two stars is for the cutomer service manager over at the registers. This location is where I go to get my hair done and for some makeup purchases. But today Ive decided to never buy anything and to just go to the salon because I love the stylists here - especially Fevenn. So here is what happened, I had purchased some makeup kits like the ones they were selling around the holidays. I decided I didnt need 2 of them and been meaning to return them and as a mom of two very young kids it couldnt happen before the 60 days were up for refund. I presented receipts for both so the lady at the register started returning but needed authorization so called a manager. The manager started going through the boxes like she was looking for a needle and since I never used any of the items inside she started complaining about how the coupons that came with them were missing and she even asked if I took them out & used them I told her no but she still kept complaining. I told her that I was a platinum member & spent thousands at ulta over the years and usually dont even use the coupons they send me. She finally returned them and gave me store credit. I dont appreciate her misdirected accusative tone at all for something I returned untouched. I dont recommend for anyone to buy from ulta if theres a chance that they may return to this location.

Location is great but the worst ULTA I have ever shopped at. They never have any product in stock. I go every Friday after work (because it is so conveniently located near me) and the shelves hardly have any product. When I ask the staff about when they will have more, the response is always we have a ton of boxes in the back. Its your job to stock product, I cant buy it if its not on the shelves!!! Staff have attitudes and at this point I do my ULTA shopping online. There a like 2 nice people but everyone else could use a lesson in customer service!
