Jeremy was courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient! He offered a Lyft for me to ride home and a Lyft for me to come back when my car was ready! That was amazing! The mechanics seemed to be at ease around him and were happy to service cars and do what they love. This experience was a complete opposite from what I experienced a month ago with another manager here at the Farmington Store. He is a great asset to this company! Thanks Jeremy!
If I could give no star I would they are so unprofessional, and when I came to bring my car to get a tire fixed they told me they were leaving way earlier before the close time, and the guy said “I couldn’t convince him to stay “ which is weird .
Complete clown act.Made appointment then they tell me appointments don’t really mean anything. Then rips me off. $500 for rear rotors and pads. I check with midas, cheaper, quick lane cheaper, Farmington Garage cheaper. Never again.

How dare they call themselves repairmen when they couldnt do the most basic job of repairing a headlight. If you want your car back in a decent time and ACTUALLY FIXED please steer clear of this place.
Its a bummer to need to share this negative review. I brought the car in for a 4-wheel alignment and was told it had a worn tie rod that needed to be replaced, offering to replace it at a cost of $400+ (assuming including alignment). I do my own work so I brought the car home and purchased the tie rod they told me was the one that needed replacement ($40) and went to install it. Lo and behold the tie rod wasnt worn at all. I brought it to a different shop and they confirmed it and they were able to align it. This Pep boys location has lost my business due to that. Im just happy I didnt pay them anything, but Im stuck with a non-returnable part.
Theyve changed a lot since I last went there. I think they were bought out by another company? O well, the Garage seemed to be doing well.

Guy at desk was super friendly to person ahead of me but for whatever reason wasnt nearly as pleasant to me. And said he was too busy to repair my muffler. Went elsewhere and they had it done in just over 2 hours. This is my second and last attempt to have work done at pepboys on 8 mile in Farmington, with the first ending much the same way.

This place is terrible. I took my car in for a wheel alignment on a Saturday at 11:30am. My car sat in the same spot for 7 hours, They never called me to tell me anything. I had to call them about 30mins before closing to find out that they didnt have time to get to my car. The lady said bring it in Monday. But Im supposed to drive my car out of town on Monday. No wheel alignment, and they made me miss my other appointments for my car.

Needed a battery replacement brought it in at 9:00 a.m. One of the first cars in but it wasnt ready for pickup until 4:30 p.m. The new battery fixed the issue but the wait time was terrible.
Had 4 tires delivered here for installation. Set appointment the first time and was told install person wouldnt be in for at least another hour after my appointment time and install would take 2+ hours. Set another appointment for the next day. Showed up next day after confirming installer would be there and he wasnt. Store didnt know where the tires were. Had to wait for him to show up, for the store to find my tires, and install was 2+ hours. Once done I was charged more than the quoted price. If time and money are important to you avoid this store. Also find it strange that only one person can install tires.Email has been sent, will update with response from owner.

Bring in at 9am... not ready until 5pm. To put 2 tires on. Worker wouldnt wear a mask. Couldnt find my vehichle info and blamed it on Amazon. When I sent the info to them directly in an email. Didnt know where my delivery of tires was located and made me look around the store for it on the floor. Whined to me about how hes still doing orders from 8am..... how is any of this a customers problem?
Came back to pick uo car and my keys where just sitting on the counter on reach of anyone who came in after waiting at the counter for 20 min with no one even saying hello to us i took my keys and just left this place is a joke as i was waiting 6 people (4 females, 2 rednecks) came in at separate times without a mask and no one said a thing to them for not having one on so if u may want to go somewhere else if u value your own well being cuz pep boys definitely dont
Needed a tire repair. They wore no masks. Was very knowledgeable telling me he Couldnt Help me because my tire was too old to work on... His attitude was poor and seemed too bothered to help.

Worst experience after I bought a set of 4 tires. They didnt clean the bead so they leaked air and each wheel was misbalanced OVER an ounce... When I took my car back and said something isnt right they dismissed me like a child, now I have 4 new tires that are junk and Im out $1200.00 do not recommend for tire service

My sister needed a windshield wiper and the gentleman at Pep Boys inserted it on her truck without any hesitation. They (employees) have always been very helpful.

I drop my car off Saturday night in the drop box. I call Sunday morning. I say hey my name, I just wanted to call about the car I dropped off in the box last night. They guy says I didnt get that far Im like ok... I want to let you know its there and whats going on with it. He explains to me he cant do it Sunday because there are no real mechanics there. And Monday appts are all full. So it wont be looked at till Tuesday. Ok. Fast forward to Wednesday and I call to check to see if they had a chance to look at it yet, the guy tells me very rudely, well there is three cars ahead of you so no. Me, still being patient, I ask if that means your going to look at it today? or sometime this week? He said maybe sometime this week. I hung up and called around and found a place. I called back to let them know. They said well have your keys ready. That was the only time they were polite to me. I go in around noon Wednesday to pick it up. Nobody says hello even though there is 3 guys at the counter. They all angry look at me like I was there to screw up there day. I look at jd, who was not wearing his face covering, and ask could I please just get my keys? He finds them. Here ya go. I say thanks and walk out. Its upsetting because Ive spent thousands of dollars on 2 cars at pepboys. Im not dealing with rude employees that dont want me there. Like Im bothering them. ITS YOUR JOB! I went there for convenience and how fast you work. Its neither one of those anymore. A simple call to say we didnt get to it today would have made a difference. Hearing and seeing the frustration of not having my vehicle and showing no form of understanding or offering any solutions or giving me any assurance that theyll take care of my car is unprofessional. The guys that I talked to were nick, jd, and Kevin. Jd always has an attitude. I only spoke with nick and Kevin on the phone. Dont go here. There are literally hundreds of shops in the area.

Just had my car in there today, I always choose pep boys. I trust the staff. Chris is beyond helpful, thats why I my vehicle goes to him. Will has worked on my car the last couple of times Ive needed service. He is very knowledgeable, all around great mechanic.
These guys are awesome!!!! Great service. Kevin and Sean both very helpful. Also the other employees were just as great. Kevin also took the time to play with our 2 year old in the lounge area. If you need parts you have to go see these guys. First class all the way.
I stopped by the Farmington hills store for a tire repair. At first I was told they didnt have time as one tech was leaving and the other had cars in front me. I told them there was nothing else open and a flat would leave me stranded. They agreed to do the repair but if I need a tire I would have to wait until tomorrow. After inspection they told me I need a new tire. The tech stayed late and got me back on the road with a new tire. Great job to the whole staff.

I went to question a estimate I had gotten at another local shop and the gentleman at the service desk was surprisingly less than helpful. Usually when we go here they are extremely helpful and full of information even when much busier than that day. I hadnt seen him there before and hope not to again. I would hate to think that their customer service is becoming that bad

Employees should not take a job they have no plan on finishing that day (what they told us) and then not call to inform us of the situation so we could come get our car. How do you not tell your customer that they are not getting their car back that day?!

1st ever inside a Pep Boys (3.6.19). The staff were very friendly and one of the staff members took me directly to the isle where the item I needed was located. The price for the item I needed was inexpensive, I only wish there were sufficient supply of the item I purchased. Overall good experience.

I went in requesting a tire rotation due to some uneven outside wear on front driver side tire with 50k on my F150. Still good tread remaining; these were 70k warrantied truck tires and rotated regularly. I asked them to look at and assess if it needed an alignment or had any broken suspension parts at that one wheel such as ball joint that may be causing this unusual wear that occurred in only the last 2k of the 50k. They call me and recommend the alignment. I say sure, fine – but please still rotate the tires as I would like the tire with the unusual outside wear on the back axle…not on the front steer wheels. They agreed. I went to pick up an hour after they called saying it was ready. Truck is still on hoist. I have to wait, they bring it out and it’s immediately obvious they didn’t rotate the tires as requested… They suggest they did rotate them (lie to my face) and then after admitting they didn’t, they say they don’t have time to get it back in today. I’m given a voucher to come back and get them rotated. I call and make an appointment the next day. I come in and have been waiting over an hour, trucks still not even in the garage, just to get my tires rotated. Figured, since they don’t value my time… I’m best off using it in their waiting room to write them this review. Listen to the other reviews – this place has Inept employees, don’t honor appointments, and lie to you - I’m worried to even have them rotate the wheels at this point. The Belle Tire down the road has much better reviews….next time…

I have been coming to Pep Boys for quite some time now. Lets just say that I will continue to do business with them. I had went some place else to get my oil change and they said that they could fix my heat so they did a diagnostic test and told me that I needed this part. It was the wrong part. I was in need of some tires went to Pep Boys got my tires and Ihave HEAT. J.D. is always attentive and amicable, very professional, courteous and he works diligently to make sure that Im out in a timely manner.
I brought two of my vehicles in this week for oil changes and the service from Chris and J.D were outstanding...like always!! Thank you for your awesome service! We will definitely be back when other services are needed!!

I wanted to comment on the service I have always gotten from J. D. who works at this location. As a female, we sometimes feel that we are treated differently because people expect for us to not be knowledgeable in reference to auto issues. J. D. at Pep Boys has always put me at ease with whatever services my car needs. I always check with my Dad before I take my car in and he will check it first and give me some insight into what the mechanic should say. Not only are he and J. D. always on the same page with what is going on, J. D. makes sure that I understand everything before I agree to having the work done. He is professional, polite and is very knowledgeable and a great person to interact with. I feel that he is always honest with me about my auto needs.
Went in to get two tires balanced. I had an appointment and I was the only one in the waiting room. The service was done in the first 30 minutes. I then spent another 40 minutes waiting for my keys. When I politely asked the service manager how much longer it would be, I noticed my keys sitting on the counter. Rather than apologizing for not noticing my car was done, he got a real attitude with me. I wont be going back.

Went to Pep Boys to have a side view mirror repaired on a Friday. After sitting in the waiting area for almost an hour while they looked at the mirror to assess the job, they told me they could fix it and would have the part in by Monday and if not Monday definitely Tuesday. Monday comes and goes, no big deal. On Tuesday I call to check the status of the part and they informed me it could still come in by the end of the day. Wednesday comes and goes. I call again on Thursday to check and they told me they didnt know why its not in, and theyre usually not that far off when they quote time frames. Friday a week later, they call and they have the part. I drop my vehicle off and three hours later Chris calls saying they ordered the wrong part and the correct part would be 300 dollars after already quoting a much cheaper price. I was so disgusted at the horrible service I received that I had no desire, patience, or trust to let them do anything to my vehicle. They were extremely careless, lazy, unapologetic, and incompetent the whole entire time. Worse service Ive ever received from any business.

Ive been going to 8 mile pep boys ever since they open on 8 mile and grand river. The best one of my best friends work there now as one of the staff managers. I will always go to the 8 mile, and I live on 12 mile and Evergreen.The whole staff is so helpful and knowledgable of what ever needs
Once again, Adam and the guys at Pep Boys did a great job of fixing my van. The check engine light had been on for a while so i took it in to have it checked out. They found a bad oxygen sensor, replaced it and had me back on the road in know time at all. Always friendly and respectful of my vehicle. They cover the seat and floor mats so I never find grease in my van. And I always feel Ive gotten my moneys worth when I leave.Thanks Guys!
Ive had good service here in the past, but was recently quoted a ridiculous price for a relatively straightforward service: $650 to replace lower ball joints and perform an alignment. I purchased the ball joints here for $90, and the alignment would have been $100, meaning the labor to change two ball joints was $450. I received several quotes from other shops in the area to install the provided ball joints AND perform an alignment for $350 or less, total. The prices on parts are very competitive here, but stay away from the service.

I arrived at 3:45 and left at 6:15 with a new set of tires. Im glad my patience was up and they thanked me for that. Overall, I was pleased that they were able to service my car on a Sunday when I could not locate any other places open near me. I can only rate them 4 stars instead of the 5 because I cant understand why the wheel lock was broken and I had to purchase another set.

The store end of it has a wide selection for products. As far as service they usually have hours to wait, you have to make an appointment and even for an oil change itll take them 45min to an hour. Lucky enough i had a free oil change or else i wouldnt have gone there. Thankfully J.D. is real with you and will help you the best he can. But other than that i could care less for this place.

The only reason they have one star is because 0 stars isn”t an option! I stopped in this past Tuesday about 20 minutes before closing, my front headlight had gone out and it was very dark, I asked to purchase a light and asked if someone could run out and install it as I am pregnant and was by myself in the dark, the guys reply was it would be $120 and it was too difficult to install so I had to pay that price, a few other employees chimed in as to co-sign in agreement! I was in complete disbelief they were trying to rip me off like that and the lack of care and concern from ALL of their staff was unreal, I purchases the bulb and left as they waved off like bye went next door to Auto zone on 8 mile purchased a bulb and got it installed for FREE with great attitudes a $1.00 less and they actually stayed beyond close to put it in! F—- this store they dont care about people I will never go here again go to Auto Zone right down the street

Went 2/7/18 to get an inspection on my steering and suspension because i was having steering issues with my 2002 escape the inspection cost me $20 and they informed me about everything that was wrong and quoted me the price for parts and labor to fix my car. My front sway bars and front control arms were replaced and I got a wheel alignment It cost me about 560 and some change which I was happy with.I cant be any happier with the service done to my car I cant believe my car was in such bad shape, thank you.Also this was my only and first visit to any pep boys and it was great.

I had a wonderful experience. I needed my tires done quickly, they were able to do them the same day for a great price. And the customer service was exemplary, truly nice and friendly.
They have been repairing at least 5 of my cars over the years. Never had a problem and pricing was always accurate, competitive and fair. I will continue doing business at the Farmington store. I even walked in one day with my mothers broken wheelchair to see if they had any idea on how to fix it. They took it right in and had it repaired in a half hour. Not only did they fix it better than new, they refused to take any money for the repair.
The young lady that helped me both times I had to visit was very polite and helpful. Turns out she was the store manager. What a treat to find such kindness these days!

I originally brought my car in for low coolant levels without seeing physical leakage. They charged $607.64 for a coolant exchange, diagnosis coolant system, and a Dorman coolant recovery tank. I thought it was slightly odd since I already had it replaced around 5 years ago but I’m unaware of the lifespan of a coolant reservoir. In October, My coolant was low again. After topping my coolant off, I returned my car to the location on 11/23/19. I reported that my car was still losing fluid and had brown stain developed into brown mud (Dex-Cool doesn’t like air). The next day, the associate told me that they performed a fluid leak evaluation and observed that my lower radiator hoses weren’t properly connected causing a leak. He also informed me that my valve cover gasket and water outlet housing needed to be replaced. I was quoted $1,300 after paying $607.64 a few months prior. I notified the associate over the phone that I had a 15% coupon and wanted the evaluation waived. The associate reduced the price to $1,100. After shopping around, I realized I was being overcharged. My other shop quoted me $680 for the parts and labor excluding the lower radiator attachment. I called Pepboys and notified them to cancel any orders and that I was picking my car up. The associate over the phone was attempting to work with me and asked for the quote of the other shop but I declined to answer. I felt like they were being dishonest by charging me $1,300, so I didnt want to keep my car there. The associate over the phone offered to price match my estimate but, I was already en route to the location. After showing up with my grandfather, the associate begins to tell me about the mysterious brown mixture in my reservoir. He was imperceptibly hinting that it could be the head gasket. He begins to tell me that it could be oil and issues with the head gasket, but the car passed the block test and the compressor test. After talking to my grandfather, he thought it would be best to leave the car due to the possible serious circumstances. I later stopped at my other shop to get a written quote after reading the price matching policy on the website.On 11/29/19 I brought a screenshot in of the Pepboy’s policy, my estimate from my secondary shop, and a screenshot of the Fel Valve Cover Gasket from Auto Zone. The assistant manager on duty told me that he couldn’t do any more adjustments because the transaction had already been closed. After looking at my estimate, he continues to go on about the formatting of the estimate and how it needs to be typed and not written. The associate would not honor either one of my price matches because of the 15% already being applied. Out of this continuous problem, I was only offered 15% off and that was my coupon that came in the mail. The Valve cover from your shop was $117.58 for the same part being sold at Auto Zone for $46.99. He told me that I’m paying for an extended warranty which is humorous. For $46.99, I can buy that part twice over and still have cashback. After looking over my receipts, I was being recharged for labor and parts, due to your shops inconsistences. Why am I being recharged for a coolant flush and exchange for the same issue that wasn’t caught by your technicians? When I dropped my car off in November, I received a laundry list of issues regarding leaks. If I brought my car in for disappearing coolant in June, why wasnt a leak evaluation performed the first time around? After this situation, I don’t trust this company’s judgment and feel that they manipulate their customers through scare tactics. This company OFFERED me a price match but did not honor it. This company OVERCHARGED me after I was okay with taking my business elsewhere.I emailed a 3 page email to Pepboys corporate and 2 weeks has past and I haven’t heard anything. This place was trying to tell me I had a head gasket issue when I car was passing the entire test and wasn’t showing the symptoms of a head gasket issue. No Sir, your shop is lazy and has mediocre mechanics.
I have been coming to PepBpys for the past 2 years for all of my auto needs. The gentleman that help me are always professional. Prices are good. Friendly atmosphere. I love that they have longer hours than your traditional auto repair shop, so I am generally able to get my car back same or next day. Check’em out! This is my third and final visit. I had a 3 pm appointment that I confirmed the day before. They could not start my car, then they tried to sell me a lower control arm and then they tell me my tires are bad in the front and then my lug nuts are over tightened. My personal certified mechanic with 30 years of experience had completed extensive front end work the day before. He would have shown me a bad control arm. When they cant sell you something then they say they cant give you a wheel alignment or balance your tires. Belle Tire does the same thing. All of the male customers came in and told them what work needed to be done. They did not try to sell them anything or treat them like they are unintelligent. Every female customer was treated like she was stupid and if she did not agree to the work they said she needed then they couldnt work on her car.After an hour and a half of trying to sell me something, I left. All I wanted was my tires rotated and balanced. It was a waste of 90 minutes.
Great price on tires and the install! We will be back. Only negative thing I have to say is they were suppose to call when my jeep was done so we could return to pick it up and they didnt call...we happened to drive by and seen it parked in the other lot with the new tires on it so we went back.
