Bought 3 lbs of King Fish (01/09/2021)I am from findlay OH and called them a day before to check on the availability/quality of fish and ordering process. The guy who attended the phone said that, they will let one person to come in and visit the fish; post that you can make the order.But, when I went next day around 6PM, the person in the store front said that He cant let me in and also, few stock that I am looking for are already gone. So, I had to buy only King fish and I ordered 3 lbs.After some wait time, He brought me two packages, out of which one package(almost 2lbs) was old stock and fish broken apart when I was cleaning it with water. Fish was damaged and smelled little foul as well. We had to throw that package.The second package was really fresh and taste good.I lost almost 21$ with this purchase.Could be reason that I told them I am coming from Findlay OH, so they sold me old stock thinking that I not not a frequent customer.I shared this with few of my local (farmington) friends and they were upset and frustrated about this incident. I am not sure, they would recommend Famous Meats in future.One good thing is the storefront person understood our long travel plan and helped to deliver the fish in 15 mins (without the 4hrs prior delivery time).Tips: Next when you buy from them, tell them that you need only fresh fish and no old stocks explicitly. The Best Halal Meat store in Farmington Hills. Their quality of meat and consistency in maintaining that high quality makes me keep going back to them again and again. Their entire staff is very courteous and attentive to the needs of the customer. Try this place and you will never be disappointed.

Came to buy lamb meat on the 4th of July just before they closed! They told me that the meat will be $10.99 per pound because there were no bones. $10.99 a pound is super expensive in my opinion. But since, I was already there after a long drive, I bought a little over 4 pounds...and paid $47.77. Two weeks later when I was ready to use it, I found out that I was given some meat other than lamb and paid $47.77 for a little over 4 pounds of it.It was my first time and last time at this place.I dont recommend this place to anyone who expects fair prices, same prices for everyone, and ethical business practices.*********Response:Of course, it was in the freezer for two weeks before use. Otherwise, it will go bad after couple days.

It was good. Every weekend we like to get our meat from famous meats. In case of hygienic I would give 5 star because everything is so clean . They have every kind of meat upto basic needs of local .

The quality and service of the store is wonderful. I would not have written the review or May be writing a bad one. We got few pounds of goat meat today morning and were hosting a close friends get together. After cooking for a few hours, the goat was still not tender. I was disappointed and called the store and the guy on call did do a great job. He explained the quality control process and gave us credit for the today’s order. Brilliantly isolated, delicate and new meat. All around great staff over the counter with unprecedented association limits. Couldnt discovered anything better in and around the town. It was good before Covid pandemic and I frequently visit for meat purchase. After pandemic not allowed inside store and also meat is not as fresh as it was earlier.Recently purchased 8 paya bones and I see all only joints and toes...Almost stopped buying from this shop.

During these uncertain times they are providing great customer service and I see everyone on the staff is doing their best. Recently I came to know that somebody is sharing negative reviews about the store personally in their WhatsApp groups, which I got the message. I am buying from this store for more that two year. They do have variety of seafood, Goat and chicken. I tried most of the product from them. I love the quality and service. This is the best place to buy any kind of meat or sea food. During this pandemic their online order and home delivery service is awesome.

I love to support local business, this market I will not be giving my hard earned dollars. I specifically asked the owner for a high fat 30 - 70 fat to protein rations ground lamb. I picked up my order and got home and the lamb was very lean, little to no fat. Not what I ordered. I called and he said no biggie we’ll replace it just come back up, ok. When I went back the owner hands me a bag of fat and tells me the customer to mix it myself. Excuse me when a customer orders a specific item and you tell them to do your job your unprofessional, clueless about how customer service works and definitely will not ever earn my business again. If you want to grind your own meat just go to this place that seems to be there customer service policy. If I could give it a negative star I would. Save yourself the hassle and trouble. Go some place else.

I had searched everywhere within a 6 hour radius for a butcher shop that will sell 20+ lbs of grass fed unfrozen eagle testicles at once. I drove 4 hours and was presented with the juiciest, most tender, and thickest pile of bird nuts I have ever layed my eyes on. I went home and ground them with garlic, onion, 4lbs of East Cambodian Lizard Tail, and 18oz of Little Caesars marinara sauce to make the most flavorful concoction of meat you will ever come across. I then formed 3/4 lb patties and cooked the patties at 160 degrees F for 6 days until you get a nice balance of extreme rare and slightly decomposing . I served them to my wife and kids on an plain piece of white wonder bread untoasted fresh out the fridge. They loved it so much that they havent left the table if over a month, theyre completely speechless!

Several times expressed the dis appointment. They never changed. County chicken always delivered with lot of hairs in the skin. They are not clean and hygienic. At least they never listen the cutting size of the meat waht we are looking for. Worst service, due to hair in the country chicken, my son got sick. Avoid to buy any meat from this shop.

Even though we had a very bad experience with baby goat meat the other day we tried famous meat for cat fish and we decided not to go there again. We had bought $50 worth of cat fish last week. It is the worst cat fish we ever had. When we complained about this to the owner he just said “oo.. okay”. This meat store does not even deserve a single star.

Last weekend, I got smelt fish and baby goat, the fish was old and mutton also bad quality. Both of my kids got food poison and we adults also had lots of discomfort and vomit. The most worst fish and mutton.please dont do this kind of buisness playing with peoples health.

But, earlier i have received whats-app forward messages related to this store.Since i go to this place regularly, i can say that someone is specifically targeting these ppl for some unknown reasons.I never had any issue with this store and the staff are respectful and in fact they sometimes give me suggestions on how the pieces should be for a specific dish.For the ppl who are defaming them, if you have any issues go and talk to the manager or owner. If you still dont like it then just go to other meat shops. But, what will you gain if you forward the whats-app messages. There are 2-3 meats stores near to this location but this is a real Butcher shop. Only place I can find fresh fish and meat. I have bought meat here many times. If they are busy it is because they are good at what they do. I have never waited long and people work here are very helpful.

Country chicken brings nostalgia as I did not find it anywhere in US. Goat meat and Keema is fresh and of good quality. Though it is meat shop you will not have bad odor meat in the store.The staff are fantastic. You will be back. Guaranteed!!

Avoid going in lunch hours. This place is packed with crowd which is good for the business. But there is no sense of first come first serve. Cmon people! you are in America. Its not a fish market in India. Use some common sense to respect others who are in front! especially when there is no rules in place.

I was visiting Detroit for a week and I found this place driving by! Customer service was excellent . Product, especially Asian Fish I never seen this much of VARIETY plus the best QUALITY! I bought some Fish and Goat meat, both were excellent! Id bet other products they have [ Chicken, Lamb also some Indian pickles ] must be good as well. I wish we have one store like this in our town. Its hard for us to get this kind of varieties with this Quality.

For FISH this is the best place where you can get LIVE FISH and also they will Clean the Scales, Gut it and Cut the Steaks as you need it, you can nowhere get this service and its worth every Dime. Nice variety of meat. Customer service is good. If you are trying a new fish, they will remind you if it is too bony. It is a good gesture to let the customer know. Fish is fresh. Only issue with Chicken and goat meat we had lately, was the Bone shards. It is dangerous, and can choke. Hope the owner & butcher considers this and take proper care with the machine cuts.Update: Nothing has been done abt bone shards. Opted for somewhere else. Quality has diminished subtly.

I have been buying meat from Famous Meats for several months now. They carry hard-to-find organ meat (e.g. spleen, pancreas, brain) that most butchers dont stock, in addition to the usual cuts of meat. The customer service is great, and theyre very accommodating. I appreciate that they grind up the meat for me while I wait. Very nice people, and great products.

Theyre below average when compared with other competitors in the same area. I ordered chicken two times with no skin and small pieces, but they never made it. They need to improve a lot in maintaining shop clean and hygiene as well. Wont recommend this if you can drive other nearby chicken shops.

Guys two weeks back I bought country chicken on Saturday, I started cooking on Sunday it was bad smell, and I called them, they told me we will replace, so Sundays again I went, they gave me new one, they didnt told anything they thrown my old chicken in trash and gave the new one, but bad thing is, it is also bad smell..ohhh my god ... Again I thrown that in my trash bin its worth of $11 then I bought same chicken in Namaste chicken point, please think twice....I agree.... They are given good at starting... But they are neglecting quality these days.....

Am disappointed. We bought crabs 1.5lbs, got 3 items. They says all r live crabs.. recieved 24hrs before only. But in those items out of 3, one is good. other 2 are not well. I thing those are not fresh. They charge $6.99 per pound with cleaning. So consider this review while buy the crabs, be careful. Cleaning charges $1per pound.

Good customer service, clean environment, quick service and low rates for excellent quality of baby goat, chicken and variety of fish I bought from the store multiple times. I have also tried the marinated chicken which the shop can customize the spices to individual interests and believe me that you are going to save lot of time for making awesome grilled chicken.
