Carter from T & G cleaned our drain line under the basement today, quickly and professionally, at a good price. Their dispatch was good about updating us on his arrival time. Carter was polite and didnt leave behind any mess. Also I appreciate that they sent text updates before arrival, with his name & photo, so that we recognized who was at the door.

Our furnace started acting up last night and couldn’t keep our house warm. I called 4 different places and this was the only one who came out immediately. Julio was extremely knowledgeable and gave me all of the facts while still letting me make the ultimate decision. He was so warm and kind and I appreciated the time he took with me. We had a plumbing issue that a different company was coming out for tomorrow (that was their earliest appt when we called last week) and Julio was able to schedule me with his company instead! Great service and response time! I would highly recommend!

Having never worked with Thorton & Grooms I can only share my experience from today. The Corporate /Dispatch office is not customer satisfaction focused. All the music on hold and web site promises have much less impact than delivering customer service let alone excellent customer service. They failed to deliver the most basic level of service at my home. (plumbing). No work was done. The plumber was short and rude. He did not come to do the job. (I was told he would come prepared to do the job). The plumbers report back to the corporate office was a lie. He said I would not let him in my house. That is not true. He left my house and would not give me a quote when he told me I had to pay $65 (He did zero work). I refused. He left in a hurry and said I’m out of here. The one shining star at the company is the Customer Experience Manager. She took great care to listen to my concerns and tried to resolve my situation. Unfortunately, she was unable to do that because the plumbing manager suggested a ball bark quote would be more than $1200. In summary, they over promise, under deliver, Lie and attempt to take advantage when someone is in need. You be the judge; do you need this type of aggravation?

Where do you find such nice, smart and talented technicians? Mitch Domme was here yesterday and is he great! Hes personable and very knowledgeable and a car guy. Every time Ive had a plumbing problem, you have sent me really good people and representatives of your company. THANK YOU!!!!!!

Weve now had Thornton & Grooms do 4 jobs, ranging from snaking and scoping our drains all the way to completely replacing the sewer system under our basement floor. I will preface this by saying: I dont know how their prices compare to other companies.That said, even if they cost more, you definitely get what you pay for here. On top of top notch plumbing, every one of the 8 or 9 different crew members that showed up to work in our house were polite, friendly, and treated me and my husband the same.When they found bad news - and they found a bunch in the house we just bought - they offered a range of solutions from cheap and temporary to complete replacement, educating us on pros and cons of each. My husband is very curious when it comes to fixing things, and they happily answered all of his questions.We had two guys, Travis Deittrick and Kyle Martin, replace our basement sewer system this week and they were amazing. They worked quick, they put down floor runners and hung plastic barriers to protect our floors/stuff, and they were communicative. Any time they had something come up - like having to cut into the wall to replace the kitchen/bathroom stacks - they let us know of changes to the scope or plan of the project and ask if we objected to anything. They cleaned everything very thoroughly before leaving, too!Also, we had pipes descaled, but the follow-up scoping revealed that we needed the full replacement. They were able to roll some of the scoping costs towards our payment for the larger project, reducing our overall total.Cant recommend them enough!

I was so incredibly impressed with the service I received, today! Rodney arrived and inspected issues with my shower dripping, my toilet flushing on its own, and the slow drainage of my bathroom sink. Since all of these items were quite old, I had the choice of repairing or replacing. To help make these decisions, I was provided with specific details, prices, and options. I was able to ask many questions without feeling pressured or rushed to make a decision. In the end, I decided to replace the toilet, the fixtures in my shower and the mechanisms behind that. I am planning to redo the bathroom in the spring, but the replacements I made would be in place for that remodel and fully used as part of that remodel. I loved that the stocked trucks appearance was clean and professional, and most of all that Rodney was so knowledgeable, neat, polite, and communicative throughout all portions of the process. Rodney spent the day at my house working diligently, neatly, and professionally. Rodneys professionalism, articulateness, affable nature, and knowledge reflected so well on his company that I contracted for their home care plan. Though the toilet replacement uncovered a surprise with a broken and deteriorated flange, Rodney was still able to complete the work within the days time frame. I am so pleased with the work done in my home. I think Rodney left my home cleaner than when he arrived!

I was fairly happy with the work that was performed, but since then its been a saga.I was having a gas line put in. When the plumbers left, they said a permit was submitted, I should hear from the city for an inspection, to let them know when it was completed and theyd return to complete complete the hookup and refill the trench in my lawn.I heard nothing for a few days, so called the city. No permit submitted. Called Thornton and Grooms and was told by close of business tomorrow it will be submitted. A few more days, nothing. Call city again, no permit. Called T&G was told the same thing again.A few more days, call city, no permit; at this point its been over 10 days and I have a massive trench in my yard, the work that T&G was supposed to complete hasnt been completed, and the rest of my project cannot be completed either. Called T&G, now the plumber that needs to put in his part in order to submit the permit, but I find out hes on vacation for a few more days. Apparently a form alerting the office to submit the permit wasnt completed. This happens, people are human, I understand. But the two previous phone calls from me should have alerted the office that the permit needed to be completed.To top this all off, the invoice that I paid in full that day (which, in hindsight was a big mistake) was about 15% higher than the original quote. The sales team was supposed to call me back to discuss that, but I havent received that call either. Be cautious.

Noah unclogged our sewer line by snaking the line. He provided excellent service and was knowledgeable about potential solutions to avoid future backup issues. He was also helpful in making a referral to someone who can help with an insurance claim for restoration that will need to be completed.

Well first called made appointment two weeks out, than the”plumbers arrived “ day of appointment, which I took off work for thinking they were going to repair my shower faucet but than after they looked at it told another specialist (which why a plumber competent enough to change the faucet wouldn’t be dispatched) would come 2 days later. Than the plumber came 2 days later and told me in replacing my faucet I would be responsible for any damage to my tile, which the previous person said they would have a plate to cover the tile removed, this guy said it would be lot more extensive tile and I would have damaged tile and all this wouldn’t guarantee if he would be able to change out the faucet.I had explained to first plumber needed job completed by the next visit due to company coming over,he assured me it will 100% satisfactory completed. Well second plumber left hanging with apology,called his manager tried to get some fix that was not up to code. What was approx a $300 was going to charge me $700 which I would later have to undo when I did not need done urgently.By the way was told to prepay a unreasonable amount for first job which got a quote later from another company for 40% less. Thornton &Groom did NOT honor the contract signed and refunded my money which I had to prepay prior to job completion,had to look for someone else.The reps and manager on the phone we’re NOT customer friendly. So, I waited two weeks for my appointment and when they came to fix a simple solution turned into a fiasco on their part,I lost 2 days at work,scrambled paying extra from another company to get job completed before the next day,highly disappointed with THORNTON &Groom.

Horrible liars! If you call for a problem, they send a sales person to tell you lies. My poor mother spent money on things she didnt need. They sent a beginner out to replace a tub drain, when it didnt need it in the first place and he scratched our tub. Then the supervisor had to come out and fix the poor job he did (leaking!). In the past, they told my elderly mother that she needed to replace her cement laundry tub because it was leaking. I checked it and it never had a leak. Its perfect. That would have cost her $1500! They told a friend of mine last year that they had a carbon monoxide leak in the furnace (they told us the same story) and that the whole thing needed to be replaced. She called another plumber who told her it wasnt true. Bottom line: If you use these guys, get a second opinion before spending a dime or you will be spending money you dont need to spend. The other thing they do is reschedule your appts. multiple times. This company has gone down hill.

They did a great job all around, from the quote to the install everyone was very professional and honest about everything. I only have one complaint throughout the process, that is at the end when the job was over, they did TOO good of a job cleaning up after themselves, now I have to clean the rest of the basement to match it.

We successfully worked out a financing plan and l am looking forward to a new furnace and a/c installation, especially with the cold weather returning soon!Brandon Young and team installed the furnace in half a day, used drop cloths to protect ccarpet, cleaned up afterwards and explained the operation of my equipment.I rate this company 5 stars from start to finish. It has been a good experience to deal with Thornton & Grooms. They are a class act! All were honest and made sure I they had addressed all of my concerns. I appreciated the text alerts, receiving photos of the techs in advance, the covid protocols and that they wear booties to cover their shoes to protect your carpeting.

Alex the tech was very nice and communicated throughout the process! What I don’t understanding is the $600+ charge for a dye test to find where the leak is with no explanation of why the cost is so high. If anyone can explain this cost it would be appreciated.Update- I had the company that installed my A/C come out and they confirmed that there was a leak in the evaporator coil and that it would need to be replaced. Thornton & Grooms charged $600 for a dye test that the other company would only charge $175. This is a complete rip off and I never use Thornton & Grooms or refer them for anything!!Thornton & Grooms also told me that the evaporator coil part was under warranty but it would cost $1,500 in labor to install for a 4 hour job. This is also insane. I will update my post with what the cost is from the other company!NEVER USE THORNTON & GROOMS FOR ANYTHING AS THEY WILL OVERCHARGE YOU!!UPDATE September 1, 2021 - Even though T&G said someone would contact me nobody has contacted me. The other company performed all the work under warranty but informed me that the cost would have been $375 for the labor to install the evaporator coil. With T&G charging $1500 i wonder what the extra $1125 is for???

Had new HVAC system installed today by Alex and Jason. Finished in about 5 hours and I hardly knew they were here. Quiet, professional, and knowledgeable. Weve got our new Lennox system and are living in comfort!Thank You T & G !!!!

I called Thorton grooms during a sewer emergency with pipes backing up. they had a tech to my house within 2 hours to take care of back up. next day had a camera technician inspect main sewer line. Scheduled the sewer lining date to be done june 8th @ 8am and arranged payment through company. Had company then come back out to inspect underfloor pipe, it was compromised. Scheduled date to have underfloor pipe replaced. Office calls me to move underfloor pipe up one week and keep original date of sewer liner installation at 8 AM. brad came out and cleared blockage to prep for liner, didn’t an amazing job explaining everything. a few weeks go by and it now june 4th…Todd comes out replaces all underfloor pipe including stack and did an amazing job. Next day(june 8) crew was supposed to come out and liner pipe at 8 AM. i was notified about three separate technicians between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM stating they would be there way. 1030 comes around with no techs. I called The office to have the dispatcher inform me technicians will be there right around 12 that there was a error with those texts this morning and crews had to be rearranged. just after 2 o’clock I get a notification that brad is on his way to do the liner job. frustrated as i left at 2 to make it to my appointment on time and nobody was in my neighborhood when i left. I called the office right away letting them know that i was headed to my doctors appointment and that we need to reschedule due to crews not showing a second time. office proceeds to tell me I need to make it home to meet with the technician due to him already being on his way. I asked office office when the guys get to their noon jobs, stated between 12 and 2pm. if the crew would have showed up or the office staff would have called me between 8am-2pm or would have been honest with me when i called at 1030 a lot of wasted time and frustration could have been avoided. hopefully crews will be at my thursday appointment between 8-9am like promised by office. hopefully John will call me back also promised by office staff.update 6/10/21. korey (liner supervisor), connor and billy showed up at 845 am to install liner. crew got started preparing liner for install and informed me of the process. brad came and power flushed main line from any debris and performed another camera inspection. after liner was installed and cured another video inspection was performed to show liner install. crew did an amazing job and they really care about what they do. office staff kept the scheduled time and manager john called me back to talk about issues stated above. overall would use company again as project came in a few thousand under originally quoted price and job was completed as described. what was a one star now a 4 star due to the issues and how they were dealt with.

Noah and Bruce were pleasant, professional and knowledgeable about my drain issue. They didn’t give up easily when it became difficult to find the drain line in the basement (no one else was ever able to find it) and snaking through several 90 degree turns. They cleared the line and recommended a follow up camera service which they scheduled for this Friday.

Needed to replace an existing AC unit. The T&G were responsive when I had questions and provided up to date schedules of the technicians for the install. The team was professional, knew what they were doing, and did not waste any effort. They ran their system checks and everything tested out as it should. They left the site neat and tidy.This experience has been run very professional and their work when contrasted with other contractors has been exemplary.

October 2021, Thornton & Grooms performed our yearly furnace maintenance and the heat exchange was cracked. It was shown to my husband and shut down on a Friday. Monday we had our new 2 stage furnace installed. Maintenance, salesperson and installers were great.I highly recommend Thornton and Grooms.

Walter was incredible! The city came out during the day to check the meter and left without turning the water back on. The valve was jammed and we couldn’t get it to turn. Walter called to get an explanation of the issue and walked me through everything, so patiently in brainstorming any way possible to resolve and get our water back on. Also, Kim in the office was extremely friendly and sympathetic to our frustration with the matter. Thanks for great service!

I had an outside drain where the basement sump pump dumps into that was partially obstructed (reduced flow) due to tree root intrusion. (I know because I did the job myself 6 years ago renting a tool from hone depot)Mitch did a great job clearing it out. Very professional, bright and personable. I highly recommend his work. Well worth the $100 with a camera inspection which is to be completed in a few days and we shall really see the extent of the issue.

I have an old house so some old house plumbing issues. I was using another plumbing company to snake drains but they are expensive and have been hard to schedule lately. I contacted Thornton & Grooms and am so glad that I did! They have been very responsive, on time and professional. Also, their prices are reasonable and extremely reasonable with the plan I purchased. Mark has now been to my house twice to unclogged drains and he is very friendly, professional and got the drain to work properly.

I am very happy with Thornton and Grooms. Columbus was extremely helpful in selecting the best upgrade for my sump pump and backup pump. While they are not cheap, either is the quality of their work and their expertise.

Jason diagnosed the problem in 5 mins and an elegant corrective action implemented in less than 30 minutes. The expertise was readily evident and my experiences with this company and its staff continue to be commendable and exemplary. Nate Parkllan came to inspect my existing old furnace after I called Thornton & Grooms. He was wonderful. Polite, cheery, and extremely knowledgeable about my furnace and its condition. I decided, without pressure from Nate, to replace my old furnace and have his company install a new one. He did not hesitate to arrange that very same day a technician to visit my home for an estimate on the price of a new furnace and amenities I would need. Wonderful job Nate!Now comes Eric Jansen. Eric listened intently to what my needs were, and worked out what I thought was a very good deal on a furnace and amenities that would meet my needs at a very reasonable price. After completing my discussion with Eric and agreeing on a purchase, he told me that he could get the furnace installed the very next day! He was no pressure and very knowledgeable about his work.To conclude, on Friday I greet at my door Brandon Young, Steven Mitchell, and Jacob McKinnon, who arrived early to install my new furnace. They worked diligently for about 5 hours and removed my old furnace and then installed my new Lennon high efficiency furnace, thermostat, and system humidifier. Their work was neatly and efficiently done, and they were very thorough and cleaned up after all was done. Brandon went over the workings and functions of my new equipment with me and left instruction manuals for my further review. These three gentlemen were a delight to have in my house and seemed more like guests!I am very impressed with Thornton & Grooms, and especially the people that they hire to represent them. The gentlemen who installed a new Lennox A/C system were punctual and courteous. They were masked, they put carpet protectors everywhere needed and wore booties inside the home. They completed the installation in a timely manner.

We contacted Thronton & Grooms for a tune up on our ac unit. The unit and furnace were quite old, but we were hoping for the best. Unfortunately, it was time to replace. The representative gave us different price options to choose from, and we couldnt be happier. The installation was completed on time, clean up was great and the air conditioning system is so quiet, you almost think it wasnt working. But it feels like you are enveloped in a velvety feeling of softness. Its the Best!! Cant wait until heating season :).

I used Thornton and Grooms to take a look at an issue that I am having with my sewer line. What I appreciate, as a homeowner, is options. Their employee provided me with several options that fit what I need to have done. He did this in an extremely professional and friendly manner. John was excellent and did a good job of identifying what issues might be going on and was timely in providing fixes. He also made some additional recommendations with no hard sell for things he was suggesting - I opted for one because his approach was great (and I needed it, IMHO). Overall excellent.Follow up: Had Alex come out yesterday and today to install I-Wave for my HVAC system. He was very polite, knowledgeable and didnt give me a hard sell on products. Josh and Mark were very polite and courteous. They came in did the drains, made sure everything was working fine, and cleaned up after themselves. Wish there were more people like them. If other companies had people like them they would get more business. Tell them how great full I am for the wonderful and professional job they did.

I had a leaky faucet. They sent someone out to fix. The plumber contacted me with options and I chose to replace the faucet. He gave me options on what faucet I wanted with prices I assumed would be on bill. When I did receive bill . The price was over $1,000. I asked for a breakdown and was told they do not do it that way. I saw the same faucet online for $400. They also billed my credit card without approval. They did reach out to me to try and remedy the situation so customer service is great! They just charge to much!

He was the most knowledgeable and thorough technician that has ever come out to check my equipment. His expertise and professionalism surpassed the techs from the prior company I had used routinely for several years. He is polite, friendly, and communicates very well.The consultant, Andre, was also polite, friendly, professional andknowledgeable in presenting options without being pushy. Looking forward to getting new AC and furnace.

I had world-class experience with Thornton & Grooms. I was able to get scheduled immediately for service and they followed up with phone calls and text letting me know when the technician would arrive. In addition, they sent a photo and background details of the technician.Technician was polite, courteous and gave me various repair options with cost in mind.Ill definitely use them again for any plumbing needs.

I had a former employee from Levine and Sons recommend Thornton and Grooms.He said they were a bit pricey but worth every penny.Bill came out to give us an estimate and he seemed very honest and explained the whole procedure to us.Yes, a bit pricey but worth it!Kevin and Mike were awesome. They were very professional and worked very hard.Will came out to fix a small problem the next day, again very professional and repaired the problem right away.I also couldnt believe how prompt they all were, you get a call approximately 40 minutes ahead of time and all 4 of them got here right on time.Thornton and Grooms will definitely be the company we use for all of our heating, cooling and plumbing needs!!!Thank you for doing such a wonderful job!!!

I needed my sewer line power flushed. The dispatch manager was on top of it and made sure a tech was out four days before the flush. Sam Comer, the tech, was knowledge, friendly, and very helpful. I have a much better understanding after speaking with him. I even got to see the before and after live feed. All of this during a holiday weekend.

Noah and Bruce went right to work to solve our problem. They got most of it fixed but felt it needed to have a further look by scope. Set it up right away. Both gentlemen were very personable and explained all that they were doing.

We thought we needed some maintenance done on our water heater pipes and hood and got a couple quotes for our options (repair vs. replacement). We went ahead with replacement, which will give us peace of mind and a 6-year warranty, as well as 6-months 0% interest financing. Well have a new water heater, pipes, and hood by tomorrow! It seems like in recent years, customer service and communication has become a rare commodity in the service industry.Not so with Thornton and Grooms.I scheduled online - and the process is great - it lets you upload videos to help you describe your problem to them and lets you pick a day to schedule the service. In my case, just a day later. I was then contacted by someone at the office to confirm my appointment day and got an approximate time for service.On the day of service, I was contacted twice more with updates as to when the technician would be showing up and to verify that nobody in my household was feeling ill.John, our technician, arrived on time and was masked, courteous and friendly. Very knowledgeable about the issue we were having and also recommended ways to save significant money on the service call (join the Home Care Club - it is value packed!). Were currently working through the issues he found and feel confident in his integrity (not trying to make a fast buck off of us) and the companys commitment to customer satisfaction.I was hesitant to call at first, since I try to do everything myself, but Im glad I called Thornton and Grooms because of their professionalism, service rates and their people.
