A wide variety of very good cheese. Price is ok, although imported cheeses can be expensive. Also a friendly work crew.I did wish they could go back to giving tastes so I could experiment more with different cheeses

Whenever people from out of town visit me in Farmington I take them here! I love going in and trying the samples -- the employees are really helpful and totally patient and dont get offended if youre looking for something different. My favorite experience was going in and saying I was looking for 2-3 cheeses for 2-3 people to pair with a red wine and they got me set up perfectly with a diverse spread... including a chocolate cheese which I think everyone needs to try. I also love their dry goods section which has a great cherry scone mix.Im so grateful this little shop is in Farmington! :)

I absolutely love this place-from the expansive variety of cheeses available, great recommendations they offer in-store as well as their excellent customer service. I placed an order today where I was accidentally given the wrong cheese (which I did not notice until I got home due to the curdside pickup during the pandemic). When I called to inquire about my options, Joe immediately offered to rectify the situation by dropping off the corrected items to my home on his own time. This unsurpassed level of customer service is very hard to come by, and I sincerely appreciate Joe going above and beyond to make things right. Great downtown shop. They know their stuff and are more than happy to give samples and suggestions. Wednesday grilled cheese sandwiches are always so good. They do mac and cheese on Friday but Ive never made it there to try some....yet. I know its called the cheese lady but chef Kyle is my favorite. I believe he is the genius behind the grilled cheese sandwich combinations. Sometimes I worry because they sound a little odd but trust...they are the best. The shop also offers a variety of other fun items that are nice for a treat or gift.

Going here multiple times, I can say every experience has been very pleasant. Giving off an vintage feel with well polished wood and most stock laid in the open. The staff is very helpful and always willing to give a free sample of their very expansive library of both dairy and vegan cheeses.Prices arent hiked up at a premium at all, anything youd get off the supermarket casually, youd be able to get here. Often at a fairer prices due to their constant sales.Their selection outside cheese is very wide as well, tools, spices, sauces, ornaments, anything to make your guests feel more whole.

So many options! I needed a specific rare cheese for a recipe, and they had it!! Also got to taste a bunch of other special cheeses and buy some unique options for my party. Bacon Jack, Rosemary Asiago, Hatch Chili Gouda... they workers are knowledgeable and super friendly. There are probably 100 cheese to pick from, plus lots of other tools, crackers, olives, etc to complment your cheese platter.

If you love cheese, you have to experience The Cheese Lady shop! Kyle is my favorite store employee! He is knowleadable about the variety of cheese that they carry, and he can tell you about the region that it comes from, along with what you will taste when you sample the cheese. This is a great place. Very familiar and very much like the Muskegon store in how great the .. well.. everything is! They carry gluten free, corn free noodles made in Michigan, and the cheeses, so many options and so fresh. Cant wait to visit again! Very close to Farmington Saturday Farmers Market, and Painting with Twist. Very clean.

I have no idea why there are so many reviews citing this place as friendly and helpful..stopped along to check out the wares, no greeting upon entry despite 4 staff members actively working in the front end. Despite looking around totally lost for 10 minutes staff never offered help on top of not greeting us. Staff looked right into our faces and didnt say one word. One staff member walked past me within inches and didnt say one word. We were totally ignored and treated poorly. Resulting in us feeling uncomfortable..I noticed other customers being actively engaged with staff. Although Im typically not the type to cite racism but definitely feel my experience was based off of myself being a person of color. Would not return ever. Nothing really worth purchasing at those prices also.

If you are a vegetarian, you will appreciate the wide variety of cheeses and all the little enhancers like crackers, flavored nuts, chutneys, and pickled anything (cornichons, anyone?!).As a vegan, I never saw myself setting foot in a cheese store. Seeing as the one in Farmington, MI is right next to a vegan restaurant, I humored my non-vegan friend and explored. Much to my surprise, there are also non-dairy based cheeses available, and a much rarer variety than your general grocer.So, while I cant condone the dairy based cheeses, if you do, please enjoy them. You will get great selection and wonderful advice what to pair them with. And if you are a vegan, please get past the things that keep this store alive, and try the wonderful vegan cheeses and pickles.
