We just bought a house, and the AC wasn’t working at all. We called Cape Fear and they sent Rich out to us. He was super professional, fast, efficient, and nice. Super easy to work with, and let us know all of our options for repair. Being a parent with two little boys, he was super understanding of us and helped up to get the best possible care for our family. He was also great with my kids and dogs as they were running around the house. Overall a great person, great technician, super professional and helpful. Definitely will be using Rich for all of our heating and cooling services!

We use Cape Fear AC and heating for our business and our personal home. I am also a realtor and I use this company for my inspections and theyre the most professional and outstanding company. Recently we used one of their service providers, Nick. He was so polite and professional, as well as knowledgable. Its rare to find companies who have a team of people who truly enjoy their respective professions but this company definitely has the best team and we wont use any other company for our needs. We’ve been using Cape Fear AC & Heating since 1973, so they have installed and upgraded all our equipment. We’ve always had good service technicians, until 2020, when we had Nick (the GOAT!) come to assess our ac/heating unit and complete our maintenance. Once Nick left, I called the company and told them I only wanted him to service our ac/heating unit in the future! Nick is amazing! He has a great personality, great values, is very polite, and is a very efficient and skilled technician! If you use this company, be sure and ask for Nick‼️

There are only 5 stars available on this review. Rich and Ben deserve 10 STARS. After listening to the issue, Ben said he would send Rich out because Rich had more experience with soft start modules. Rich came out and knew what was going on immediately. He fixed the issue in 30 minutes and explained what happened and why. Both of these technicians are welcome back and will be requested by name.

Richard was our technician for an annual inspection and maintenance of our extensive HVAC system (3 units, 5 zones). He arrived on time, was very professional, completed all work efficiently, and discussed possible upcoming needs (one of our units is very old), and what to be on the watch for regarding the operation of this unit. He left everything clean and tidy. We felt like he was trustworthy and also that he was experienced and knew what he was doing. He definitely represented Cape Fear Air Conditioning, Heating & Electrical Co. well.

Our thermostat stopped working late in the night on Tuesday and I called to schedule a HVAC repair at 8am Wednesday morning. By 1000 Richard was at our house and had found the issue and quickly repaired it. He was quick, thorough, and professional. Richard made sure we knew how to use our Nest thermostat and made sure there weren’t any other issues with our system. We signed up for regular maintenance with him and couldn’t be happier! Strongly recommend!

Have used Cape Fear since our systems were installed 15 years ago. One of our AC units blew a capacitor yesterday. When I called Cape Fear this morning they were able to send a repairman around lunch time. Rich braved the rain, quickly diagnosed the issue and made the repair quickly. He was personable, knowledgeable, and professional while making our repair.

Called another major company and 12 hours later never got a call back. Called Cape Fear Air at 8am on a Saturday and an employee was at our house 30 minutes later. Ben was the employee who came and he was super friendly and professional. He explained all of our options for repairing our A.C. and helped us decide what the best solution was. Cape Fear Air Conditioning, Heating, & Electrical Co out and did an initial assessment of our system. They listen to our goals for the system. They provided us several options. There was no hard sales pitch. We were given our options and walked us through the process. When the work crew showed up to do the work, they were very friendly, courteous and cleaned up the site every day. The work was completed in the time specified. While the project was ongoing, the crew answered any questions we had and had the attitude they were working on their own home. Over all, we are very pleased with the service we were provided. Cape Fear did everything they said they were going to and we are very happy with the work completed.

I dont write these reviews often but the level of service I received from these guys warrants some public praise. I reached out to have some routine maintenance done to our A/C system. They arrived on time.They were professional, friendly and clearly communicated what was going to be done. During the service they found a serious issue, so I had them give us a quote to replace what needed to be done. The price seemed right, but I decided to get another quote from another company. When the other company arrived the guy was just as professional and friendly. I mentioned that Cape Fear had already given a quote and the guy said oh yeah, I used to work there. Robert is the guy who trained me.EVERY SINGLE TECHNICIAN was just a pleasure to deal with. Great communication. Friendly. I can not give a higher recommendation. If you need A/C work, look no further.

I had Cape Fear AC and heating come out to do my service on my two systems. Ben showed up on time and did an outstanding job. He explained what he was doing and what my system needed and took care of the issues. He was courteous and professional the entire time. I have always had a great experience with Cape Fear and today was no different.

First of all, I agree with a lot of the good comments here. I just want to express my experience with them. Especially when I had a new unit installed at my house….AND PAID in full.They offered a twice a year maintenance check for the installation of the NEW unit. I understand that this was during the height of the pandemic, but NO ONE even called about this service, and the year is now passed. After the installation, I had to call them to check on the extremely loud condenser unit fan motor, to be fair, they came in and replaced it, but it is still noisy. Another issue was the installation did not pass the City inspection. It was mentioned that they would make sure to call the City. Not until I called them, a couple weeks later to inquire about it, they sent the same personnel to do the correction and repairs, to include wrapping the PVC drain pipe with insulation on the attic that was dripping water on the floor.

We had our HVAC installed in July and had some slight vibration problems when it would start up. I called the company and they sent out Rich.Rich arrived in time, and even called about 30 minutes prior to ensure we were still home, once he arrived he identified the problem within a few minutes and explained what their next plan of action was.They ordered a new part and returned within a week to install it, again, calling ahead of time to ensure we were home. This time, Rich and Ben arrived on time and immediately got to work fixing the problem. Once they were complete they had us start and stop the system to ensure everything had been taken care of. They cleaned any and all debris from the job, were very professional, and even extra quiet (we had a newborn in the house!).I would recommend this company, especially Rich and Ben to any one of my close friends or relatives. Having your AC stop working is the pits, fortunately we found Cape Fear a few years ago so we called them today, and someone was at our home within the hour. (We got lucky, however, in the past they have always been prompt.)Richard came out to our home and was able to diagnose the issue, walk us through the repair and explain what we needed to prepare ourselves for in the future regarding the maintenance of our unit. We had our unit installed about a year ago and have been using them for maintenance, but yesterday my thermostat went out randomly. I gave them a call this morning and they were out like 6 hours later and Rich fixed my problem in less than an hour! I am so appreciative of the help and the great service that they’ve given me! There’s nothing like having no AC during the hottest part of the summer, but they’ve taken great care of us.

My AC unit went down and my regular maintenance guy didn’t respond so I called cape fear air conditioning. They were at my house within 10 minutes and fixed the AC and gave me some solutions going forward. The service guy Ben was extremely helpful and professional. I’ll be going to them first next time.

I am leaving the original review below. I just want it to highlight how quickly a company can correct an issue if they truly care about their customers. I feel that Cape fear really does take pride in the services that they offer.A technician came and installed a line from our home to our shop. The new box was supposed to power a heat pump and shop equipment. $1800 service and they didn’t even use conduit when they buried the line. Fast forward to today. Another of their technicians comes to hook up the heat pump. He informs me that the wire they used wasn’t rated for the heat pump and they would have to do the job over, at my cost of course. New quote of $5600. Buyer beware.

Cape Fear Heating and Air has been servicing us for the past several years. We have their maintenance package so they come twice a year to service our unit. They have done an excellent job keeping our system running in extremely hot weather, and there is always someone to take your call, even after hours. Weve had an after hours emergency call and they were able to come right away, diagnose and fix the problem very quickly. Peace of mind is what counts in bad weather, and they have been very reliable, accommodating, and most importantly, experts in their field. We even get discounts for being repeat customers and in their maintenance program. We highly value this company. Besides, every employee I have spoken with has been super polite and friendly. Today we made a last minute call about our thermostat not responding and the young lady at the office sent someone straight out, This was our first time having Richard as our service provider and he was OUTSTANDING . My 3 year old unit quit working around 10:00 pm. I called the after hours representative and Cape Fear had a technician, Frank, out the next morning. Frank located the problem and had it repaired within an hour. Frank was very professional and courteous. I have used Cape Fear Heating and Air on our rental properties for the past 4-5 years. They have been very responsive and timely in addressing the issues with the various units. I have purchased 4 A/C units from them, as well.

I hired this business to perform an annual maintenance of air conditioning system and the technician told me I was very low on Freon most likely due to leak and repair would be over $2000. I had another business come out for a second opinion and they said the Freon was good but needed to replace a totally different part which wasn’t even mentioned in the first assessment and the repair ended up costing way less ($400). I called cape fear asking for my money back because the second opinion said it hadn’t even looked like anything was cleaned as it was supposed to have been. Cape fear would not reimburse the full amount but rather about half and said they were charging me for a diagnostic fee but their diagnosis wasn’t even correct. I feel very ripped off and would not use this company again or recommend it to anyone.

I called Cape Fear Air on Thursday because of problems with our upstairs unit. I asked for Frank Mashione because he has been doing our annual maintenance for the past few years. Frank came out the next day and I explained what the problem was, he did the diagnostic test and found the motor to be the problem in our outside unit. I was surprised because it was Friday afternoon and right away I thought I would have to wait until Monday but to my surprise Frank called to see if a new motor was in stock and went right then to get it and install it. Have to say, I called two companies prior to CFHVAC, Maurice Phillips Heating and air and Bass Heating and air, Phillips came one day, didn’t fix the problem, charged me 250.00 and said he would be back the next day, never showed wouldn’t answer calls. Bass couldn’t fix the problem said it was an electrical issue, Cape fear came, solved the electrical issue, then Rich came from Cape Fear HVAC came and completely went through my system and fixed everything, very personable, intelligent, and totally repaired and inspected both systems in my house, Highly recommend Cape Fear HVAC for any issues with your heating and air. They will handle all of any issues I have permanently!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you CFHVAC and especially Rich !!!

We hired Cape Fear Air condition to replace our AC unit in our bonus room. Jeff the sales rep is a great used car salesmen and can lie out his behind. He looked at our old unit and took measurements to replace our unit. The technician showed up to replace the unit and they sent the wrong unit. They told us that Jeff ordered the wrong AC unit. Thankfully the technician has scruples and knew he can not cut the truss to fit the AC unit into the wall. Cape Fear AC wanted him to cut it to make it fit and he refused. After several phone calls the proper AC unit showed up. I thought that the sales rep orders the wrong unit? Where did the other unit come from? I feel they tried to slide and lesser unit into my house. The technician was very professional. After he was finished we found out that they will need to have their drywaller come in and patch the wall. They will also need to return and install the proper heating element. I called and ask to speak with the owner but the used salesmen called. I demanded that the owner call me. He did a few days later. I told him about all the BS that was going on and he said he would insure that we will be takin care of. After 2 weeks I received no calls from anyone from the company about the drywall repair or the heater strip. I called and left message that I need this done. They forgot about me and the job they have not finished up. The drywaller finally came and patched the wall. When he was here I requested that the service manager call me because the heater strip still has not been addressed. I never received that call. I did however receive a call the next night from a tech that is on his way to my house to replace the heater strip. Communication is less they expected from this company and is very disappointing. I told the tech that this is unacceptable and that they need to call and make an appointment. I am not home. They finally called and made and appointment to replace the heater strip. The tech came and replaced the strip. When I talked to the company about this they keep saying that they needed to order the parts and they were waiting to receive the part and this is why it took so long. Why did no one call and let me know what was going on?During all this time I have been preparing to move to a different state. The stress, frustration, lack of communication drove both me and my wife to the edge. I went to the office and Jeff the used call salesmen talked with me. I told him that I feel that the bill needs to be addressed due to all the BS from this company. He said he would talk to the manager and call me the next day. I told him no, have the manager call me. As you guessed the manager did not call me buy Jeff called and said that they will take off $220.00 from my bill. WOW they really care about their costumers, NOT ! I may recommend their service to my enemies but I suggest that you take your business elsewhere.

Chris was very knowledgeable and professional. He explained in detail the challenge with system and what was needed to repair it. It was very quick to set up appointments and time was accommodating. The service was exceptional. Would recommend.

Absolutely 100 percent satisfied. over the years we have used several of the big name companies and it was a nightmare. we have been severely overcharged and honestly under serviced do to technician knowledge. With Cape Fear not only is the price fair but the work is top notch and the techs actually care about their work and their service. We has Rusty come out to service the unit, not only did he fix the issues caused by other techs but he also advised of issues that could arise in the future due to my system being a little older. this wasnt a sales pitch he didnt try to sell me anything rather to inform me so i had the general knowledge of what would most likely need replacing in the years to come. Rusty is very knowledgeable, professional and a genuinely nice guy to have around. i will definitely only use Cape Fear in the future repairs to come. Price is more then fair, the support staff in the office was great, and of course our tech was awesome. Thank you for the fair and honest work. I would recommend their service to anyone in the area.
