Not the most welcoming place to say the least maybe its the guys selling out front or the staff when you have an appointment asking why are you here? Maybe its the feeling you are signing up for full blown surgery when you want to get an eye exam. Whatever it was I walked out and dont plan on returning. Wanted to keep it local but Id rather feel comfortable elsewhere when it comes to eyecare or any type of health service. I felt as if it was going to be a search for billable services its an eye exam lets not get ahead of ourselves.

The office staff here are outstanding and very welcoming. My three year old went in for her first eye exam today. I can’t thank them enough for making it such an easy experience for the both of us. I highly recommend going here! Thanks Dr.Kosnoski, Brooke and staff you guys are amazing always!
Employees were very friendly and courteous. The doctor was knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable knowing my eyes were in good hands. The selection of glasses is fantastic. With the help of the staff, I was able to go out of my comfort zone and pick a new style of glasses that I absolutely LOVE! Glasses came back quickly and delivery was seamless. Brooke was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I am happy to say I have found my new optician!

One of the worst customer service ever!!! Very rood stuff!!!! my son was not able to put mask on he is two years old!!! Very rood Young stuff “door screener” person did not let us in for consultation!!! Woman like that should not have kids!!! This is not the first time I am at this clinic obviously going to be the last!!!!
I love the federal the Federal Way location! The staff is super friendly and helpful. They fitted my glasses perfectly the first time, I had to return multiple times at another optometry center. I just took my 10yo daughter in for her first pair and both the tech and optometrist were awesome at putting her at ease. Very satisfied with our care!
I have VSP insurance, and Kosnoski Eye Care is one of the in-network facilities listed on the VSP site. My current eyeglasses are damaged and in order to get new ones, I needed an updated eye exam. So I called to book an appointment, which in the days of COVID, means quite a wait. When I finally got to my appointment, the woman I spoke with at the front desk explained that any health problems (diabetes, macular degeneration, glaucoma) that could be uncovered by the eye exam would not be able to be billed to VSP. In such a case, I would have to pay upwards of $200 to $300 out of my own pocket. And my regular VSP copay for eye exams is $10! Why have vision insurance with so much out of pocket?? I mentioned that if they were going to do the same eye exam whether or not health problems showed up, the out of pocket charge seemed suspicious. She gave me the excuse that its their ethical responsibility to respond to health issues because they are a medical center (even though I have my own health insurance and would naturally want to make an appointment immediately to take care of them). I was also told I would have to pay out of pocket to have photos taken of my eyes in lieu of dilating them. I drove myself to the eyecare facility, so that didnt leave much choice. The whole experience felt like a money-making scam. I not only wasted time waiting for an appointment when I could have gone elsewhere, but I felt hugely taken advantage of. Her final explanation was that this is simply their policy. Needless to say, I left the facility without paying a cent.
Brought my 6 year old here, hes never been to an eye doctor and I wasnt sure how it would go. Needless to say they were amazing! So friendly, patient and informative to both me AND my son. When they fitted him they clarified again with him how it would feel when he got his new glasses at first and how important it is to wear them which is so helpful. 100% recommend.!!
Everyone in the office is friendly, caring and helpful. I came in with a ton of anxiety and they were all helpful and kind and really helped me be able to relax and calm down. Explained everything they were doing and why. Great eye doctor place. My little girl and I both come here.
Doctor was nice, but the front desk staff is rude and has a condescending attitude. She scratched my lens while she was adjusting the nose piece, refused to take responsibility for doing so, and refused to replaced it. Her solution was to get me to pay more for anti-scratch warranty to correct her mistake. This is my first time here due to the rave reviews from others, but Im very disappointed with the level of customer service at this location. I will take my business elsewhere.
Always have had great eye care at the Federal Way office. 3 plus years. Staff is always professional and courteous. Doctors give me a thorough exam and spot on assessments and recommendations. I highly recommend Kosnoski Eye Care for your complete eye exams and glasses.
This was my very first time at the eye doctors. I really didnt what to expect but it was a great visit to the office. The service was exceptional and the ladies in the office were fantastic the made me feel welcome. I had just gotten on the insurance policy so I wasnt clear with everything that was in the policy. The ladies up front got on the phone and did the research to make sure that that ingot the best service possible. If youre looking for a great eye doctor please visit them. To add the doctor was very helpful and pleasant it was the best visit I ever had going to any doctor thanks ladies.

My family & I have been patients at the Kosnoski Eye Clinic in Federal Way for 3 years now, and we love the care we receive. Very professional, courteous and awesome care for our eyes. My husband was asked to get a COVID test 72 hours prior to his appointment because his wife is a nurse when they were calling to confirm appointment. The office has no idea what type of a nurse I am or if I am even currently employed as a nurse not to mention how does the office even know that my husband has contact with me. Their last words on the voicemail to my husband was that he needed a negative COVID test 72 hours prior to exam because his wife is a nurse. I wanted to share my experience as a frontline worker and to remind our community that COVID is everywhere and because an individual is a healthcare worker does not mean they are more likely to have COVID. When Inquiring to see the policy I was told by the front desk that it was per CDC guidelines? ! ? This policy is not posted on there COVID precaution link. I called another clinic under the same franchise and they were more than willing to schedule me and my husband an office visit knowing my profession without a COVID test.
The staff welcomed us with open arms the moment we opened their door. Right there and then, we knew the experience would be positive. I also had my 2 kids there and they were all patience and accommodating. I highly recommend their service.
I have only started wearing glasses since I hit my 40’s. I recently became a patient of Kosnoski Eye Care, using both the Auburn and Federal Way offices, as convenient to my location at the time. I started with single vision (I relied on “cheaters” previously), however, I was encouraged to prepare myself for progressive lenses. I waited a year before finally deciding it could no longer be delayed. The teams in both offices were absolutely fantastic in supporting my high maintenance questions and reassurance. Their patience and support have secured my future business and all referrals. Although it was tough to get used to the frames/lenses, they were right. It took a couple of weeks. So grateful to have my vision back!Well done, Kosnoski Eye Care!
I went to the doctor’s office for my first exam since I retired. This meant it was going to be paid for by myself, no insurance. I had asked and was aware of the cost of the exam and was prepared to pay it in cash. When I approached the front desk I was asked for my photo ID, they wanted to make a copy of it for their records. It just struck me a little odd that they would ask for that because this was going to be a cash deal so I asked why do you need a copy of my photo ID? Another lady adjacent to the gal I was dealing with piped up and informed me that it was a federal requirement. So I engaged her and asked how so? And then she explained that if they were audited they needed to provide clear records as to who’s insurance they were billing. I stated yes I understand that but that is applicable because of the insurance being billed, but that I was going to be paying cash. She informed me that no it was necessary for federal reasons and if I didn’t comply they weren’t able to do the examination. That was threat number one. So I gave my ID to the first gal and she continued to explain to me that part of the examination was to have my eyes either dilated or photographed to confirm if the eyes were healthy. I stated that I didn’t want my eyes dilated. Again the other lady fired up and stated that’s part of the exam and if I wasn’t going to comply than there would be no exam. Threat number two. I just wanted my vision checked so I could get new sunglasses lenses. My eyes feel great and I didnt want 2 hours of discomfort on a sunny day. I know I’m getting older but I’ll be damned if I’m going to accept being bullied. I took my business elsewhere.
After spending two hours trying to find somewhere that recognized my insurance, I walked into this amazing place and the wonderful staff there this Tuesday sat me down and explained my insurance, what it would cover and how much and even helped me pick frames that looked good on me when I couldn’t decide. These associates were absolutely fantastic and now I’ll be a loyal customer purely because of the exemplary customer service, information, helpfulness and genuine commitment to helping me to the best of their ability. I’m impressed. Thank you.
I cant praise Dr. Kosnoski (and his staff) highly enough. Ive been going there (1st in the Kent office, and then in the Federal Way office) for 10 plus years. Dr. Kosnoski is thorough in his exams, and infinitely patient when explaining what the results show, and also when answering all my questions. I wouldnt trust my eyes to anyone else.
Had an unexpected eye Health Emergency.. was able to get an appointment within an hour. Diagnosed problem and had me an eye surgeon appointment within a couple of hours. Brook arranged this ..her effort is greatly appreciated... excellent care
Easy to find. The front desk staff was pleasant and very helpful. I saw Dr Thacker and she was great. Did a very thorough exam and an additional test to better view an issue with my eye. I will be going back!

Excellent visit as Kosnoski Eye Care. Their Covid-19 procedures are thorough and make me feel safe. They sanitize everything that a patient or staff person touches, and the mandatory mask policy is smart business. Their eyewear selection is good, and they were able to help me find a great pair of frames. Dr. Bohmer is great and really listened to my needs as a patient. Ive been wearing glasses since I was 7 or 8 and loved my family ophthalmologist in Mississippi. Since moving to Federal Way meant getting a new eye doctor, I am really glad I found Kosnoski Eye Care. I felt right at home. If they are in your network, definitely choose them!
Wait time was long but they definitely made it up with a Starbucks gift card. Enforcing social distancing and keeping things sanitized as well as the glasses! Can’t wait for my glasses to come in!
Great staff who spends the time to answer all your questions. I was ordering new glasses and Brooke was so helpful taking the time to go thru different frames with me. Theresa was also very nice in helping with my exam.

I went to kaiser permante for symptoms of a detached retina. They made me wait 2 days. Called next day with symptoms more severe. Never called back. Saw dr next day. She saw nothing. Next day, vision fading, called Kosinski and was seen immediately! Dr saw a significant tear and rushed me to see retina specialist who did emergency eye surgery in hospital. Thank god for Dr B and her staff! I will be making this office my eye drs.
Dr and staff very friendly. They were understanding and patient when seeing my 3 yr old. They made my little one feel comfortable and like her thoughts and feelings mattered to them. When I expressed a concern or frustration they were quick to rectify it and make sure the all was ok. Yes I would recommend this office.
The staff are polite and kind. They answered all of my questions so I could understand. Getting an appointment was easier than I’d ever experienced.
Brooke the office manager is incredibly rude/condescending & unreasonable not to mention petty. She wouldnt take my daughter because we were all of 8 minutes late & I needed to fix the string on her mask that snapped. I have been going here since I was a little girl & it has gone considerably down hill, Im taking my business elsewhere.....
I went their for the first time last year. Dr was nice, but when I went to pick up my glasses, I asked the lady to fix them so they wouldnt fall off my face, and she seemed to NOT know what she was doing, and just went in the back and got the back of my glasses warm. I dont remember what she called it. But she obviously didnt know how to fix them right. Plus dont get the scratch resistant on your lens, I got that and they are so scratched up now. Ive been to other eye places, that the scratch resistant lens didnt get scratched up. I mean isnt that the point of paying extra for that? But yeah over all, Im not going back, and the only reason I went there in the first place was because it was close to my apartment.
I was immediately greeted by Teres with a friendly smile and she quickly escorted me to my exam room. Brooke and Alexa were so helpful to me in selecting my new glasses and carefully went over my insurance benefits so that I can take advantage of the best coverage. Dr. Hontz was very concerned with my questions and is very knowledgeable in her field! I will tell my family and friends about this office.
Ive been going here for a long time. The customer service was considerably better under the old doctor/management. Now that its a Kosnoski eye center the customer service is terrible. I drive out of my way from Milton to go there because Ive been going there for years. Theyve lost my business. Ill be going somewhere more local.

First visit to this office and I had to ask them to test my son for a color anomaly (color blindness). I’m not sure why this isn’t standard for boys, when 1 in every 12 boy is color blind. Initial test confirms my son is color blind, so they scheduled a follow-up visit for a slightly more comprehensive test. I make the 30 minute drive, show up to his appt 5 minutes early.....only to wait 40 minutes to see the doctor. They moved us from one room other another, probably just to break up our waiting time (this must be standard for them).....and we still never saw the doctor. I walked out of there 45 minutes into waiting and walked into the Costco Optometrist in Bonney Lake to get the same test done. Kosnoski Eye Care has lost my entire family as patients! And.....there’s 7 of us! Horrible experience! Keep in mind, your appt can be canceled if you’re more than 15 minutes late for an appt....and....per policy, they can charge you for it too! I guess doctors don’t have the same rules!
