Conner Prairie is one of our favorite outdoor summer evening concert venues in Indy/Fishers. Family friendly, BYOB and food. Its nice to arrive when the gates open early and enjoy food and drinks with friends beforehand. Bathrooms can get a little busy during intermission. Like any concert venue, parking is always super slow getting out, not worth rushing to get back to your car. Ive been here countless times and have never had any issues with bugs. Pack a wagon, blanket & cooler and be ready to enjoy the outdoors!

This place is an absolute must visit, especially if you have kids. Conner Prairie is massive, with different settings and villages all built around providing a living history experience. As an adult, I found this place to be fascinating from a historical perspective, but my kids were the ones that really loved it. With a massive treehouse, lots of animals, buildings to explore, and indoor/outdoor play areas, they could easily spend an entire day here. I felt the reenactors did a great job of interacting with the kids as well. With the cost of tickets, I would recommend looking in to an annual pass if you plan on visiting more than once. They also have a military discount as well. We came here first thing on a Sunday morning and had the place to ourselves! Definitely try coming during an off-time to maximize the experience.

Very cool experience going up in the hot air balloon! Tickets are purchased separate from admission at following rate: $17/adult, $10/children, under 2 is free. About a 15 minute ride from take off to landing. We visited on a HOT hot day but there is plenty of shade and places to rest (dining areas and plenty of benches throughout)We visited the children’s indoor play area on our way out as the temps got worse, and it was incredible! Lots of fort building, imaginative play, craft area, books, etc. Tons of opportunity to get the wiggles out for our 2 kids under 5.The park also allowed us to bring a small cooler in with a light lunch for the kiddos, and we were welcome to eat on the property with our packed lunch.

My sister and I flew in from Texas to visit my father and his wife. It was my first time in Indiana. My father bought tickets for us to go see the Stars Spangle Banner Orchestra Symphony. It was my first time to ever experience a symphony. The whole experience was beautiful and emotional. Since it hits to home. My father served in the Army. It was a pleasure to enjoy the whole orchestra and especially the fireworks afterwards. They were absolutely beautiful.

I have been going out to Connor Prairie ever since I was 2 years old. Something I always loved about it was the feeling of stepping back in time and the historical accuracy of the homes. I haven’t been out to Connor Prairie in 8 years today me and my husband decided to go out there again. I couldn’t believe how much it has changed the old time feeling was gone but the part that was the most heartbreaking was the Connor house. There was a screen in every room the old furniture was gone and the beautiful old wall paper was replaced with paint. Honestly it was extremely disappointing to see how modern it has become. Definitely will never be going back it’s a shame what it has turned into out there

We brought our kids (ages 6 months to 14 years) here. This place is awesome! Its interactive. There are so many places to play for all ages. Its so much better than the Indianapolis Childrens Museum. Less crowded. Very few things were encased and/or roped off. Its a fun place to interact and learn about history. I hope we get a chance to come back for the holiday events.

Showed up this morning with my pre purchased tickets to enjoy a day with my family only to learn that they are making all of there guests wear masks again regardless of vaccination status. No where else that we have visited or stayed in the area has required guests to do this and I am not going to bow to the mask mandates anymore so we left. I think that the fact that they had waited until the day after labor day to begin this says something about them as well. If they are so concerned about our health then why did they not enforce this on Labor day the day with the highest possibility of spreading the virus due to increased numbers of visitors? I rarely leave reviews but I am done with the masking and with the businesses that enforce them.

Conner Prairie is as good as interactive history museums get, but be warned, thats exactly what this place is: An Interactive Museum. While you can definitely wander around, dont be put off if you find yourself being led around (sometimes literally by the hand) from exhibit to exhibit by the residents of the village. The newer edition to the museum, the Dupont Indiana section, is even more theatrical and structured than the original village is. So if youre thinking this is just a cool old 1800s village to explore and walk around in, you may want to travel down to Spring Mill state park for that experience. This is definitely a more guided experience, geared more toward educating kids and adults who want to see living history presented in a way very few museums can do. If that sounds like something youre into, then Conner Prairie cant be beat.

Great place for young kids and adults alike! I wasnt sure if my 5 year old would be interested in much but he loved the whole place! As an adult I would have liked to have been able to stop and read more of the signs and information but with a kid you have to go at their place somewhat which is why I say it would be great for adults or kids. The kids love running around and seeing everything but the adults could stop and read and learn a lot. When we left my son asked right away if we could go back sometime and I told him most definitely!

An interactive museum set in the early 1820s and 30s, just years after Indiana became a state. Great for a family trip of field trip. Keep in mind, the museum is closed on Mondays and there will be plenty of walking. Nonetheless, it is a wonderful place to check out.

Great Time/Activity for Kids of all ages. You could spend all day there if you wanted. Pretty big and lots of things to check out. Indoor kids area to play and make crafts and then Outdoor stuff to do/see and learn about our great history. Kids water/splash area to keep cool, so think about swimming trunks or towel or atleast change of clothes for your young ones just in case. We went on a really hot day, but wasnt actually too bad since theres indoor air condition area/activities and the outdoor splash area and when your walking around, its woodsy and shaded, so it was actually nice and relaxing strolling on the paths. They have some animals to pet(goats and sheep). Theres also a Hot Air Balloon ride(always attached to ground). We didnt ride it, but it goes straight up and comes back down and probably has a nice view!👍😁

Beautiful and educational park! Really cool to see the actors going about their day to day business, theyre all so knowledgeable and friendly. We got to meet Dwight at the blacksmithing barn in Prairietown. Apparently Conner Prairie has classes for a lot of different traditional trades such as blacksmithing and hearth cooking. Ive always had an interest in historical trades and Ive lived near Conner Prairie for so long and I had no idea they had classes. One suggestion I have is please try and advertise your classes more, so more people can know about them and have the opportunity to learn.

Since our son was born we hadnt been so we decided to explore this morning and we were very happy with the trip! The grounds are huge and we had a ton of room to roam and distance. All staff were very informative and kind. I was disappointed that some of the staff were not in costume but ultimately our 1 year old really only cared about the chickens he got to encounter and the big house we let him run through. He had a great time! The food was great too. I think well definitely be back this summer!

A good venue for concerts byochair but they do have some trees that could block side seating view. Seems their food vendors are few, and they put some kiosks far far away from others so if it were my business, would be unhappy. The parking entry is fine, exiting is mass chaos with ONLY ONE exit, they should have at least a northbound and southbound exits for better flow. We also went for their winter decoration show last season and was expecting more live people exhibits and food - big big big disappointment. But did see a few xmas light displays and walked around during covid so good to get out. For an operation this size, they should still have more active live exhibits.

A little disappointed in our experience today. My daughters class is currently talking about life on a farm and life back when there were no TVs or cell phones, so we decided to take a day to experience it in person. The animal experience is closed so you can only really see the animals from afar. There was no one in the woodworking or blacksmith shops. There was no candle making. Most of the buildings were unoccupied and we only got to experience a few things along the way. The balloon voyage is also not currently operational. We went to the Symphony on the Prairie that Connor Prairie holds during the summertime. It was packed. But I will say that it was very nice to shop to a concert where we did not have to pay for parking. As soon as we parked there were two people who showed up with the wagon who offered assistance with bringing our items out to the lawn. There were a bunch of people already and the concert was not set to start for another hour or two. So I would suggest getting there early especially if you have a large crowd of people going along together. We rode the helium balloon which was super cool! You could see the stage area and then the haunted corn maze that was about to start soon. We did our helium trip at around 7:30 and it was perfect because we were able to see the sun set!

We visited the Symphony on the Prairie venue for the July 3rd Star Spangled Symphony event. This particular show is typically highly attended given that it is a holiday special and they have a firework show at the end. Unfortunately for us, a thunderstorm popped up in the area so they cancelled the fireworks (but allowed everyone to use their ticket stubs for complimentary access to a later event). Prior to the stoppage, the show was excellent and the orchestra was as good as always! Many veterans were in attendance with their families and the conductor/hosts did a fantastic job recognizing all the military personnel and branches. This is a great place for families and friends to enjoy music, shows, and dinner! There is free parking available. As a friendly reminder, a mass exodus from the venue will create very long lines to exit as there is only one exit to go North and one to go South. If you aren’t in a hurry to be anywhere, take your time heading out to avoid an hour-ish wait in or around your car (no bathrooms outside the venue gates).Don’t forget to bring your own cooler (drinks and food of any kind ) as well as chairs and blankets for the show! Food and beverages are available for purchase including standard concessions, alcohol, ice cream, and kettle corn.

I’m a little disappointed that tix were full price but everything wasn’t open. Also perturbed at the couple of employees that were quite rude about the mask wearing (this was outside in open air, where we were no less than 8 feet apart), and one who was pretty rude about one of my kids even looking in the direction of an area that was closed while we were all waiting to recongregate outside of bathrooms. Then they changed their sing-songy, fake tunes immediately to suggest I get a membership and come back, but honestly I don’t see the point. The buildings that were open had super friendly staff and helpful. You can’t say that you “encourage” guests to wear masks where distancing isn’t possible online, then change it to a mandatory requirement on site and try to implement it outside where it doesn’t apply anyway. I understand that covid has placed undue stress on places like this, but the differences between what is stated ahead of time and what I found in person is really irritating.

They eliminated the corn box, and bouncy houses and instead provided attractions that allowed social distancing while still being super fun- games, shows, corn mazes, tube slides,, train rides, great food, and even beers for mom and dad! They sanitized the wagons after every ride, wiped down games, sanitized chairs- and every volunteer and staff member did with a smile.
