The staff here are extremely kind and seem very honest and upfront about things as well as knowledgeable on a lot of topics for my bass from there a few days ago and I ukulele a few years back. while at first I had some doubts about me playing bass they made it easy to understand the bass is high quality and the amp is very nice and loud. Would highly recommend.

All the staff at Willis are as knowledgeable and friendly as I can expect in todays tech world.They really know pianos.If you have a question they will get you the right and truthful answer.And it is my opinion that they truly offer you best teaching in this area.

Knowledgable, friendly staff. Walked in and brought a quality instrument home within a short visit. Staff are musicians who use the instruments and accessories, so they can recommend based on their own use of the products. Tage helped us select a ukulele and demonstrated the sound for us. Also helped us select a case and tuner that were right for our needs without unnecessary expense. This is a far superior experience to online shopping. Lots of models to pick up and try out. No shipping needed. Also invited us back for assistance when we need to re-string. We were in very good hands!

Joe was fantastic - Ive never purchased an instrument before, and went in knowing close to nothing. Joe pulled the cello out of the back for me and let me sit down and pluck the strings, sized me for it, and showed me how to tune and care for it. Would be a lot better if found a competent employee that was a musician or could help you,might sell some instruments if had a playable one to play.As much as I hate going to Guitar Center its either between this place and Guitar Center,so i will just call Sweetwater.They should be the model of what a chain music store should be.They actually are required to be knowledgeable and inspect their instruments when received.Willis has seen better days

I really recommend Willis Music for all your music needs. My son is taking guitar lessons from Mike and he is very patient and explains everything they went through at the end of each lesson so I know what my child needs to be practicing. The employees are very knowledgeable and automatically offer assistance on any of your needs. Everyone Ive met there has been super friendly and that in itself is a huge bonus!

Hands down the BEST music store in the area. Denise and the team are extremely knowledgeable in all aspects if music. I am a guitar player and have been researching electric guitar amps for months. The other big chain brick and motor gave me a lost of problems. The selection was minimal at the other place and the employees there did not seem to eager to assist. I also got the impression when they did help they certain brands were being pushed to sell. Not at Willis music though. In addition, they had EVERY single amp I was looking to demo (I called the other place near by 2 times. The first time i was told they were too busy to look yet they had just opened; during the 2nd call I was put on twice to see what they even had on the floor as the employee clearly was not sure of the products they carried) When I came into Willis (4 times in a week) they let me demo everything as long as I wanted and didnt rush me out. I was not the only customer in the building yet they made me feel as if it was about me. In speaking with Densie, she helped me determine the amp that fit me needs and not the one that benefited the company fir a sale. This is how the experience should be when making a purchase. It was a fantastic experience to say the least and Willis now has a lifetime customer. I along with purchasing an amp, tbey set my guitar up (which I bought from the other big brick and mortar place down then street and was NOT set up properly) My guitar sounds 100x better and was able to finally get the sound with the Line 6 spider V amp I purchased. Denise and the team are great m, are passionate about music, and are very interested is putting the customer first. If you need a guitar, amp, piano, lessons then Willis music in Florence is the place to go!

Willis Music has an amazing staff. I play more 7-string guitar then anything. I just wish they had a seven string section for more metal heads lol. Went there with the purpose of purchasing a keyboard amp. Was able to do just that at a very reasonable price. Sales staff was completely attentive even before I stated what my purpose was. They were great. Also, being a member of NKBMA, was able to get a good price on the amp as well. My kudos to Willis Music.

Super helpful and friendly staff. Every time I sent a guitar project to them they knew exactly what I wanted and were quick to setup my instruments. Their charges are cheap and not a rip off like their competitor in town who doesnt treat there customers well and dont maintain their products. They are willing to negotiate prices for their floor models and their instruments are already setup. More guitar and amp options than their in town competitor. Great store!

Willis is a good, basic brick-and-mortar music store. They have knowledgeable sales personnel. They do still think like small businesspeople. Thats both good and bad.What they stock and support varies widely over time as they attempt to find different product lines to sell. From time to time theyve attempted to branch out into numerous lines -- DJ equipment, stage lighting, other lines -- and several brands like Willis-branded pianos, Roland keyboards, and Dean guitars -- but later, Willis frequently drops those lines and brands that dont sell to their expectations. What this means is that people who buy these lines or brands from Willis may be without consistent support of these products, and without the ability to add accessories or other devices from the same source at a later date.Generally youll get good customer service in the store. However, they define the store as the limit of their influence, which leads to my biggest, long-standing gripe...My biggest frustration is that, even now in 2018, one cannot browse their inventory or offerings online (their poor excuse for a website store doesnt come close to representing their inventory and selection), and therefore one must either call or visit the store to find out whether or not they have the item one wants. They still believe that all marketing and sales should be done in person. Just about every modern retailer has a website that will tell you what they sell, and most will sell it via their website. Unfortunately, for the consumer, it would appear Willis management continues to deny that the Web has such value, or theyre in fear of the demise of their brick and mortar business. The brick and mortar business will succeed, but will never really thrive, without more progressive decision-making.Theres nothing wrong with buying the long-standing product lines there. And Denise will see that you get good service in the store.

Very nice people, still a little new to the electric guitar scene but they were very welcoming, ended up leaving with a new ibanez.

We visited this store in Florence KY in September of 2017; my husband tried a drum throne and loved it. So, I live in Tupelo MS and in December of 2017, I decided to buy him one for Christmas; I couldnt find one here, so I called the store, spoke with Joe, described the throne to him. He went above & beyond customer service. He didnt have the one I wanted in stock, so, he ordered it for me and had it shipped directly to my door. I was impressed! So was my husband!!! He loves it!!!Note: If youve never visited Florence, KY, I highly recommend it, the folks are wonderful! And, go by and see Joe @ Willis Music!!

Much better off going to Guitar Center on Houston Rd. Staff isnt helpful nor friendly. I was trying out a guitar when I decided to tune it to drop C and the older fella came and took the guitar from me saying that I didnt know what I was doing. Ive been playing guitar since 2003 so I know how to tune a guitar.

This is a great place for the musician of any type, age or skill level. Approaching the store is a little confusing because the parking lot has been chopped up in an odd way, probably because of previous stores in the same lot. The area is safe and well lit. The store is well laid out for accommodating such a variety of instruments. They have an adequate music school with practice rooms that are o.k. but a little small. Its tough to cram so much stuff into one building, I know. I took lessons there for a while and found the instructor helpful and knowledgeable, but they face a hard market with all the lessons available on the internet nowadays. In general the staff is helpful without being too pushy. I always feel welcome there, unlike the other guitar store in town which almost openly has a discriminatory attitude toward us elderly types. Willis is happy to welcome musicians of all stripes.

I purchased a bass guitar at this location 11/10 and I have to rave about your associate Joe. He is so friendly and knowledgeable, and helped me find the perfect guitar for my price range and playing needs. I will recommend Joe and this location in general to anyone!

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great selection of instruments, including Steinway Pianos. Lots of books and sheet music to choose from. They also offer a nice performance hall / recording studio where they have performances and clinics. In the back are lesson rooms, a repair shop, and a luthier. Willis is a one stop shop.

Great place to shop for music needs! We take advantage of their layaway policy to purchase larger ticket items. Seem more attentive to you than the other store in town.

I love this store as I even used to work here but they have many things to fix. When you tell a customer you will do something then you HAVE to do it. They had a guy working there that was going to pull a cymbal from another store so i could buy it. Three weeks go by and I hear nothing so I go to the store and he has zero idea what I was talking about so he said the same thing. That he would this time make sure the cymbal gets there in the next truck. He took my info (again) and was going to call me in a week when it got in. He didnt get back to me and I got the cymbal used from Guitar Center online . They have a much better drum guy there now but now we had the same issue with a childs violin. Was told a selection of violin sizes would come in the weekly truck and it didnt. We were all excited going there to get my 4 year old a violin so he can practice just to be let down (again).Im not saying these things to make them look bad because they are great people but maybe they can use this to get better. I know a lot of people who have had the same issues. Look Willis. You dont have the selection of brands and the sheer number of products that Guitar Center has and they are less than three miles away. So your bread and butter HAS to be special orders or inter store shipping and things similar that are reliable, priced fairly and the communication with the customer is paramount. There was a reason that sales number wise I was second only to the manager when I worked there. I always checked with vendors or other stores before I told the customer information and I was transparent and kept them in the loop. I made the customer feel like I was working for them. I know you guys can do better. But the last four times Ive attempted to buy there I was let down three times by two different sales people and I only have trust in Brian that he will take care of me. No offense to anyone. You all are fantastic people but you know as well that things can improve.

My husband sent my violin to be restrung as a surprise when I broke a string, and they never told him the secondary company would need permission to do the work, so they had my violin for months, I went to pick it up, and they didnt have it (which seriously concerned me), and when it was returned, they broke my shoulder guard, and tore up the foam on it (I suspect trying to remove it), and they never called to say when it was finished.Dont go to them if you need repairs or servicing, and especially dont go to them for things you can do yourself.

The price on everything was so high.

Was looking for a particular guitar no one else had but online, but I dont buy guitars I cant hold feel and hear, checked guitar center they didnt have it, checked Willis and there it was and a better selection of types and better variety of colors and opinions (Fender player series Stratocaster 2018) it needed a set up and the staff was great and took care of the set up, friendly service and helpful with all my needs and questions.

The staff at Willis are friendly and knowledgeable. They want to partner with music teachers to support a more musical Northern Kentucky.

Stopped in after going to the competitor down the street as I was looking for a reasonably priced Ibanez. Found exactly what I wanted and a 10% discount as well. Sales guy very friendly and knowledgeable. Will do my business here from now on. EDIT: called to ask the purchase date of my guitar and the guy who answered the phone (think he said Joe) was not very friendly. Said how was he supposed to know when I bought it, I told him he needed to look it up... I hung up, will do business with GC.
