THIS PLACE IS SPAMMING YOU, BUYERS. BEWARE!!!!!I went here to pick up a few things. The rude lady everyone is talking about rung up my daughter two items, and I look at the total prices, and I ask my daughter, which seems high for two things. A bathbrush and a headband. Total a little over $10. The lady started ranging up my items, and I questioned the rude lady and told the her that something wasnt added up. The lady started getting rude at me, and we went through each item. She had overcharged me and added another product to my bill. I told her, you dont need to have an attitude; I was just asking. I told my daughter Loudly; I will never go back to this store; the lady was rude. As my daughter and I were discussing the situation in the car, I told my daughter how much was that bath brush. She told me $5.99 and the headband $1.99. I looked at her Receipt, and the lady added another item of $2.99. My daughter only bought two things. I didn’t go back to the store because we had left out, and I didn’t feel like going back and forth with the rude lady, so I decided to write. This rude lady has added items without you noticing it. Please check the Monitor for any added items and be prepared for the rude lady to be rude when you question your bill. She has probably has been getting away with this for a long time. Especially in the Black community. Thanks

Owner rude and lazy....had to insist that I could not find what I was looking for before he got up to assist me. He directed me to the wrong aisle and was mad about his own mistake. He threw the hair on the floor because he had to get up out of his chair to help a customer....sadly I will not be returning. Cashiers were helpful and pleasant...owner needs to have them teach him proper customer service skills!

Great for checking and holding hair product, if you call ahead of time. However, the staff needs to informed of the return policy. I was extremely embarrassed that one of the cashiers told me I could get a full refund...however later in the day I had to speak to the owner and was informed that the return policy is for exchange only.Please do better training your employees.

I went to five Star beauty to get some eyeliner and lipstick and I also got some liquid eyeshadow. I love the liquid eyeshadow. Its was my first time using it.

I had the complete displeasure of visiting the 3404 Donnell Drive location today, August 10, 2021 at approximately 3:45 pm. The customer service at this location is PISS POOR. The older Asian woman who completed my transaction (race is only mentioned for identification purposes) was VERY unprofessional and VERY RUDE!! Her tone was argumentative, disrespectful, and nasty. It’s very IRONIC that the store is named 5 Star Beauty when its customer service lacks in such a manner. I do NOT EVER plan to return to this business. PLEASE take my advice and AVOID.

I worked here .. manager is very rude to employees and chooses favorites. He fired me without even TELLING ME ! KEPT telling me business was slow and that’s why i wasn’t working. WHOLETIME IM ACTUALLY FIRED! to this day i don’t even know why i got fired, horrible way to communicate and RUN BUSINESS!!!

Nice store. Very large but with good inventory and aisles arent crowded. Cashiers seem were very polite too.

The Store Was Neat And Had People To Help U Out

So a few months ago I went into the store and I’ve remained silent long enough! this place ACCUSES people of color of stealing! I went into the store around 11:00am and I was headed to work after but I needed to grab something from here for my job! And I brought in my work bag which I always carry with me, I was looking at the glasses for about 5 minutes when the owner of the store told me to leave my bag at the front of the store and there was no sign that said I have to I saw school kids coming in with book bags and she didn’t say anything to them!, I then was proceed to tell the lady if there’s a sign I’ll leave my bag but she insisted I do, she then proceeded to say that she was going to call the cops because I didn’t follow store policy? If there’s a sign saying that I would’ve! Long story short she apologized after she saw some people walk out about the situation and my family coming there! Keep your money and go to beauty island in the mall or sally beauty down the street thank you!

They have a great assortments of wigs. Everything else nah. The young lady that assist in the wig section is awesome. She is helpful. The others behind the cashier dont speak and act like they want you to steal from there cheap store. Seriously, we need better service/businesses that look like us.

If I could give 0 stars I would in a heartbeat.Unfortunately, today was one of the worst experiences I have had shopping in a long time. I came in to buy a simple hair brush. I go to the cashier and I noticed it was a $5 minimum for credit cards. So I told the lady “I’ll try to find something else in store so I can still use my card.” Sadly, I did not have cash.The lady threw the brush behind the cash register in a basket. I immediately brushed it off and figured maybe she put it in the return/hold basket.So I grab another small item to equal greater than $5 and I return to the same/only cashier. I asked her if she could ring up the brush she had put in the back. She looked at me so confused. Then she proceeds to tell me she “Does not have the brush and I took the brush”. Now, this lady is a older woman and I honestly felt maybe she forgot what happen that quick.However, I asked the younger employee for help and he was not helpful at all. He eventually found the brush in the basket right behind the woman. No apologies or anything. Just ready to ring the items and charge me. I politely declined.I will never return to this store and do not recommend it to anyone. Customer service is EXTREMELY poor.

One young lady was very helpful. Pointed me to everything I asked for.. The Korean woman & man at checkout also unusually friendly.. As long as I find what I came for without hassle Im good.

Great place to shop;however, dont ask the two Asian ladies where things in the store. Because they only kno the basic items and not everything that is sold in the store. The black women do kno where everything is. That doesnt take away from the store having everything you will need. Shop and have fun....😊

If I could this location a (-0) I would. They are nice until you have to return something. Their written policy contradicts what they actually practice. The written policy indicates that unsealed hair products can not be returned. Well I purchased (4) of the same product - used one that didnt work so I wanted to exchange the remaining (3) unopened products. The Manager refused to exchange the un-opened/sealed products. I have since reported them to the Better Business Bureau. I know this location is good for most folks - however - we should stop supporting businesses that only take our money but give no real service. I use to spend a lot of money at this location but no more! I will go else where. I encourage others to do the same!

Customer service is a must, I walked in was greeted the stalked. When I was looking for my hair color, Bigen noticed the young lady that spoke was even closer. Unfortunately I picked up the wrong color. Walked around for a couple of minutes and notice the same person was moving in the same direction. Went to be checked out by Mrs. Kang. The person act like I was going to steal 3 items. Called the store and Korean I believe answered the call, explained my issue put me on hold and had a African American to pick up declined the exchange for the unopened box of $ 5.99 for the right color. Everyone is not Criminal, Management and Employee need to be more professional. I did inform them that they will be losing a customer. I will take my business elsewhere. I have problem having to lose $5.99 for Better Customer Service.

I purchased a relaxer touch up on May 4, 2015. Today I opened the package and the relaxer was old. There was crust and cracks on top and throughout. I returned to the store (again)I was there today purchasing semi perm color.Upon showing the cashier the relaxer I advised him it was no good. I was instructed to get another relaxer. I looked on the shelf and the dates were the same on all the relaxers. He did allow me to open the replacement relaxer and it was the same way.Another sales rep comes off the floor and bluntly tells me they don not return ($5.99) so I could go to another store. She stated she went to cosmetology school and I could still use the relaxer. Then she advised the cashier to write on the receipt in Korean.I asked for my receipt and advised them I did not want anything else as I had a hair appointment and had to interrupt it to return to the store. He wrote in Korean and I went to another beauty supply store.I do not recommend going to 5 Star Beauty because they do not understand the importance of customer service. It was as if they were doing me a favor by allowing me to shop there.Also, a cosmetology student advising a customer to use a chemical product that is against State Board Regulations as I have attended American Beauty Academy and own a fashion and beauty business of my own in Prince Georges County.The place is huge and overstocked may be the reason the relaxer I purchased and the replacement relaxer was old. The staff also treated every customer as if they are going to steal instead of paying customers who keep the establishment running.

5 Star Beauty supply store had everything for your hair.

The customer service suffers tremendously. With major competition within the vicinity of this store, I would think that the owner would strive in providing the best in service.

This store gets 4 stars because it rivals the other beauty supply store in Forestville Mall. The next beauty supply store in the vicinity is near Iverson Mall, the huge Beauty 4 U. Hair supplies are abundant. Nails supplies are sufficient. For makeup interests, its hit or miss. Disposable beauty supplies to grab and go are lackluster; stick to a Sallys if you can find one. The Sallys location near 5 Star Beauty closed. At one time, there were too many beauty supply store options to count, but that has changed. This store still offers a decent variety.

I found what I have been looking for for months. So, my experence was good.

I can always find what I am looking for.

My girlfriend liked personal service.

Enjoyed shopping because employees are willing to help.
