Ordered over the phone easily and quickly. Our new furniture was delivered in 6 days even though we live over 2 hours away!! Prices absolutely can not be beat!! Will definitely order from here again. All around great experience

This hole in the wall is a huge furniture store, priced as manufacturers. Dont ne fooled by the location. It was worth the trip to Alabama. They deliver up to 90 miles and it was cheap. They delivered to us in a week.

Roof leaks on showroom floor so be aware of possible damaged items. We were promised new boxed items when we purchased them. Showed up to pick up items and were required to take a showroom floor chest. Thankfully no damage. After explaining what happened, they did offer $25 off or wait 6-8 months and get free delivery which was more than $25.... took the $25 refund just so we could leave with what we ordered. Hopefully the 4 hours total we spent on the road to find and get these will be worth it. I really like what we found.

Store and sales staff are great. Excellent selections. However, delivery service was nothing to brag about. Stripped out 5 of the screws to my bed. Sent pictures via text to manager who indicated he would replace them....month later I’m still waiting.

Akins in Dogtown has a great selection of good quality furniture. Their prices are pretty good as well. The reason for 3 stars and that I wont go back is their customer service. Danie is rude, unprofessional & shouldnt be allowed to interact with customers. Kerry had to step in to resolve the problem. Will not shop with rude people, period.

We had went and looked a week prior to purchase. The day we came back, Tammy asked if we needed help and she quickly found our items in stock. We were in and out in about 15 minutes. She was great and can’t wait to get our items delivered in a few days.

Bought a living room set 2 years ago.... the couch has been worked on 2 times and even brought another one out to swap. Now it’s doing the same thing. Paid to much money for the set and the “warranty “ to be told let’s trying fixing it again. We didn’t buy a couch to have it cut open after 3 months and worked on every 3 months. At some point let’s try another set. So, be careful if you buy from here, and don’t buy the protection plan they offer..... it’s a rip off. Hard to believe Dog Town won’t stand behind a product they sold. You have lost my business and I will tell everyone from Rome Ga not to use you!!

I went in shopped with Tammy and she was AWESOME. They were extremely busy so I walk around the entire WAREHOUSE, taking pictures of all of the items I was interested in. Once I was finished looking I spoke with a EXTREMELY nice finely age young lady at the front desk that called for a sales person. Tammy came and we walked around the entire warehouse 3 more times (bless her heart) looking and pairing up and moving sets. I NEVER felt rushed or less than a customer. The prices are AWESOME and I look forward to going back to add to my order already in place. Thank you for your great customer service, prompt attention, and your no pressure sales force.

My husband and I ordered a couch in October, when we went to pick it up 2 pieces were lost. SHANE was super helpful. Kept giving us updates and was doing everything he could to find the pieces. He offered us other options just in case they weren’t able to find the pieces. He was very apologetic. They found the pieces and everything worked out. THANK YOU SHANE :)

Go to your local furniture store, pick out your furniture, and then go to Akins Furniture. You will be surprised at the savings. Besides, any excuse to drive on Lookout Mountain near DeSoto Falls or Little River Canyon is worth a fortune!

When I bought my house 7 years ago I went here to furnish my house and had a wonderful experience... we wanted to update our furniture so we made the hour and a half drive to shop around. The experience was far from what we expected based on our previous visit. We walked the entire warehouse and they did not have much available in what we were looking for. I finally tracked down an employee to inquire about a set I was interested in and she was very rushed and answered all of our questions with, I dont know and Im not sure followed by staring awkwardly like she wanted to just get back to whatever she was doing before we interrupted her. I asked her to please find someone who could answer my questions. She went and got someone else who had the same attitude and just brushed off our experience as you get what you get on a Saturday as if they were busy but there really werent a ton of people there. We were ready to drop a ton of cash there again the way we did 7 years ago but unfortunately we took our business down the road and had a much better experience. Ive recommended them to so many people over the years. I wont be doing that again!

Horrible staff! The owner is horrible too! We’ve spent plenty of money in there and we drove an hour to get there and the staff acts like they don’t want to help you and the owner is the same way! We get home and a leg to our night stand doesnt line up with the holes it’s suppose to and the wood was way too long and they wouldn’t even deliver us one unless we paid to have it delivered.. and the owner said it’s the “rules” like he doesn’t make the calls. They’re just terrible I would rather go pay more money for staff that was actually wanting to help then go to them because they’re cheaper. I wouldn’t have even given them a 1 star! THEY WILL NOT BE GETTING ANY MORE OF OUR MONEY. TERRIBLE BUSINESS, STAFF, AND OWNER!

Great selection of furniture, prices were good. We drove over two hours to shop at Akins Furniture. Even with few customers in the store, parking lot empty it took over and hour to get someone to assist us. Wife picked out a living room suit (approximately $4k). The staff acted as if they could careless. After trying to pay for a little over an hour, I ask to speak to one of the owners, he also acted as if we were bothering him and wasnt overly friendly. I finally told the salesperson you have about ten minutes to take my money or we are out of here. I have purchased cars faster than our experience at Akins Furniture. The warehouse personnel loaded us quickly and was very friendly. Overall I generously rate them a three because I have to believe they must have been having a bad day. Approximately 1.5 hours for assistance, 1.5 to pay, 20 minutes to load and not very friendly or even act like they wanted us there.

Single. Time. HUGE selection. Wide range of styles, price ranges, and decor for every room.From the outside it doesnt look like much but its definitely great.

They all ways have a good selection of furniture beds and more and they always do a good job with assisting everyone in a timely manner. They always have great prices as well.

Great furniture selection I found and purchased what I was wanting.

Worst service you imagine. Scheduled delivery for our bedroom set between 3-5, they show up at 9:30 pm smoking cigarettes cussing about how horrible their company is. They didnt bring all the pieces needed to finish the job. long story short we have spent the last two nights sleeping on a box spring and mattress on the floor. We paid for the installation and they did nothing.

Selection is out dated and there was way less than normal. Customer service for their mattress department was awful. I saw some other reps that seemed to be helping their customers... Maybe we just had a rep that wasnt interested in selling anything that day. Needless to say, he didnt sell to us.

I got an Ashley living room set. Less then a year my recliner broke due to poor wood but they fixed it better than new. Very good prices. Very helpful staff. They dont hover or follow you around. You have time to look at all the items which youll need. They want to keep your business so if you have any problems or are dissatisfied with something they will fix it as long as you dont bring back half a dresser or burnt up mattress. Really investigate your items how their made, the wood and construction and brand. Furniture is a big purchase for most so really take your time, ask questions. Great furniture store.

Good prices. They were incredibly busy the day I was there, but that was to be expected. The sales people are always busy, but do a great job getting to the customers as they can. It is well worth the little wait that you might sometimes have to endure.

Good selection and decent pricing. Customer service and attention wasnt the greatest (even though it seemed to be a slow day) and definitely were disappointed to find just before paying that they wouldnt offer delivery. Respect their choice to not do so during COVID but to not tell us up front seemed wrong and almost deceitful. So we unfortunately left without making a furniture purchase.

Great selection of nice furniture of all kinds, shapes and sizes! We ended up with a love seat, a very nice recliner and a great bed with a mattress fit for a king! It took a while to get some help thus only 4 stars but once we got a sales agent, they were nice, fair and knowledgeable.

Its off the beaten path but you can definitely find items that will fit any decor. Anything that you find in the store, you can take it with you that same day which is a major plus. There are other furniture companies that make you wait several weeks because they have to order it. Friendly and knowledgeable sales people that dont put pressure on you. If you never been, its definitely worth a visit. They have delivery also.

This place has a great selection and great prices for sure. But we are less than impressed with the customer service. We have furnished our living room, kitchen and dining area with their furniture but the dining room table we ordered has been delivered twice now damaged. I’m having it ordered for the 3rd time today. Furniture is not cheap and frankly, I’m very unimpressed with Stephanie, the delivery coordinator who basically made it seem like it’s such an inconvenience for her to have to order AGAIN and gave me attitude about how they have no control over what happens to our furniture in the truck. Nice attitude. Considering it’s OUR money, yes, we’d like our furniture non damaged. I’m also not impressed with Catherine (Katherine—spelling?) my husband has emailed her a few times with pictures of the leveling screws missing on our kitchen table chairs and she has not once emailed him back. Customer service sucks here and we’ll be sure to be speaking to a manager soon.

This was our first visit here. We came looking for a new bedroom suite. It took us forever to decide on what we wanted. When we had it narrowed down to 2, the owner himself moved a night stand all the way across the room so we could see it against a wall similar to our bedroom. Customer service is alive and well here. We wont buy furniture anywhere else!

This is a great store with a huge selection, and its got stuff in there you cant find in a lot of places! The prices are affordable and the staff is very friendly. I like this local store that is much more personal than your typical large chain furniture store.

Very disappointed. I purchased my living room set and bedroom set from there about 3 years ago and had a fantastic experience. Of course, they were the first call I made to purchase an additional piece for both my living room and bedroom. They refused to even consider delivery if the order was not $3,500.00(we offered to pay extra for delivery to our home in Georgia). Additionally, despite having a line of credit established with them already, they refused to honor the 6 months same as cash unless the purchase was in store. The bottom line is, if you cannot make it to Alabama, you are out of luck when it comes to purchasing with them.Disappointing as I assumed I would be a lifelong purchaser, and that will not be the case. I found another retailer in 5 minutes that would deliver the same pieces at a fraction of the cost. Not worth your time if you are not willing to drive to north Alabama.

Recently I retired and was relocating to Atlanta, Ga, where I was purchasing a new home. My mother had shopped at Akins over the years and had also referred others to Akins. While shopping for furniture I had made several trips to other furniture stores and always returned to Atkins. It was cost effective because I needed so much. One day I walked in the store was walking around deciding what I needed most and I met a Sales Rep by the name of Angie who was such a sweetheart, I sat down with her, explained what I needed and I purchased majority of my furniture from Akins for my new home for the style and quality of the furniture. She made relocating to Atl such a smooth transition. Any problems that occurred were easily resolved, including furniture delivery which involved two deliveries to Atlanta in a timely fashion. It was a great customer experience and everyone was so friendly. Thanks Angie again for your assistance.
