Bought a used LG clothes dryer from these guys and had a great experience. Good selection of new and used appliances for most budgets. The grandson answered all our questions, and grandpa and dad were there to help too. They hooked up the dryer, even got towels wet for us, and ran a cycle so we could see that it worked. We will return for an oven soon. Highly recommend these folks. Great service and solid appliances!

I have bought over the years two used washing machines in a used dryer and I have a fabulous gas stove that everyone who comes in my home comments on how beautiful it is! They have quality service if theres any kind of a problem which is quite rare and theyre very helpful good people.

On the phone call, what kind of store dont have any parts?, i asked i looking for refrigerator parts, and then they said they dont have any. And i didnt even give them any of my refrigerator model number to check, they are rude!

Drivers are wreckless. Drivers almost cause a semi to hit them. Then as I was passing the driver the 2 young boys were laughing like it was funny. Get better drivers!

Our washer stopped spinning and draining. Hughes appliances came picked it up, found out what the problem was, fixed it and brought it back all for a reasonable price. Actually they were cheaper than th others. They were very professional and careful on not damaging my stairs or walls. Since my laundry room is upstairs. Thank you to all your staff for their hard work.

The worse company to deal with. Sold me a washer that wont spin out. When I first called in to get someone to fix it. They kept telling me that a technician will call me and he never does. Finally after a week of calling they finally said they would come out today (March 15) at 3pm mind you I have to leave work early to meet him and he never shows. Tried calling them back and the store wont answer. They have the worse customer service and they sell junk I would recommend everyone to stay away

We will always come back to this store! A few years ago the owner assisted us in finding the correct replacement belt for our dryer. He was so kind and assisted us when we had no idea what we were doing. Fast forward to now, we’re looking for a new washer and dryer set. Thanks to the pandemic most stores are sold out or on back order. We needed one ASAP as our dryer broke and we have a baby who is incredibly messy. After running all over town we decided to try this store. They had the exact one we were looking for and had it all loaded for us within a few mins. They also helped us get the replacement part to fix our old dryer so we can find a new home for it. The best customer service in town.

During the pandemic Hughes Appliances came through. With reasonable prices and a refrigerator I could take home right away. All other places had to order one which would take 2 to 3 weeks. They held a very good priced refrigerator for me until my husband could pick up the next day. They told me about the financing the store had. Which ended up being a life saver. Money was going to be extremely tight with this pandemic going on. Not only did we get our refrigerator that next day but we were able to get a lot nicer one than the basic one we picked out to get us by. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the older man showing me this fancy dream kitchen. And the lady that helped me was so very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this store andwill go back for our other appliances. I apologize for not remembering any names of the people that helped. I will always remember your faces. Thank you for making things so less stressful on us during this difficult time.

The people at Hughes applance are very professional and pleasant to deal with, we bought a used washer and dryer combo, we experienced some issues with the washer so the owner and his son brought a newer set and replaced the first set no questions and no extra charges they installed, tested, and made sure we were satisfied with our units, I will definitely recommend purchasing any appliance new or used from them

I have been here 3 times now, and everytime they are nice, kind, and dont lie to you. I have bought a stove and now my 2nd fridge.

Do not go here! I bought a BRAND new air conditioner from them, in the box and it sucks. It’s supposed to be 12000 BTU and it’s loud and isn’t cold at all. I called to return it, not even 24 hours later and the won’t take it back. I guess that’s $400 wasted. Stay away from this place, and pay attention to the other bad reviews because they are accurate!

My husband and I bought a used washing machine here but sadly the first time we used it (and every time since) it’s been making a strange grinding sound during the wash cycle. I called on a Friday and told them about the sound and they said they’d have someone call me on Tuesday to schedule a time to come look at it. I never received a call, so I called back that following Friday and was told the owner would call me that day. I never received a call (again). I’m very disappointed in their customer service and am hoping we didn’t waste hundreds of dollars on a washing machine that’s going to break soon. I would’ve rather spent extra money to get a brand new one elsewhere had I known that buying a used one here meant it would come with issues. We won’t be buying from here again.

This place is great! The owner and manager are very helpful, and genuinely care about their customers. I was searching for an affordable washer and dryer on the web, and I happened upon their website, and I was BLOWN AWAY! Their prices are so low, and the stuff they sell looks almost new. I LOVED how I was able to see exactly what they had in their store, right on their website! I found a set I liked on the site, went to their store, and I had a great washer and dryer in my home the exact same day, and only spent about $375.00! They work great. I cant believe this place has been here and I just now found out about it! If I ever need another appliance, I will most definitely be coming here again!

Great place. They were very professional and helpful. We found what we wanted without a problem or pressure. They delivered and removed my old washer and dryer and hooked up the new ones. Jerry was very helpful in helping us find just what we wanted and the delivery guys did a good job, When they left Everything was in order and working. We will go back when we are ready to purchase our refrigerator and stove.

I was in desperate need of a budget-friendly used washing machine that would also fit into a smaller-than-usual space in my 100 year old home. The folks at Hughes went above and beyond to help me over the course of nearly a month to find just the right washer. They also delivered and hauled away my old washer for a reasonable fee, considering I live outside of their normal delivery area. Im impressed with the level of customer service I received, not to mention the appliance I ultimately purchased. The delivery crew was also very personable. Called yesterday to check and see if they still had an item in stock I was interested in. I have to say Jen was absolutely great on the phone. There was some confusion as to what the price was, but she got it sorted and called me right back.Once I got there, she was helpful in getting the items hooked up so I could see they worked. Handled the payment and delivery details quickly. She and her dad were amazingly helpful and nice.Today I will have my washer and dryer delivered which will make my life so much easier. Thanks!

HUGHES APPLIANCE IS AWESOME!!! Purchased a used Whirlpool dryer clean and like new excellent customer service and very knowledgeable even hooked up dryer so I could see and hear it run. I literally just called these guys and asked them about used refrigerators. The lady told me that they range in price from 150 to 700 dollars. I then proceeded to ask her how long they usually last and she said they could last anywhere from 1 year to twenty years, being that they are used. She then proceeded to tell me that they performed a bunch of fancy tests on their appliances to confirm that they work. Apparently, having the machine run for ten minutes is long enough to confirm that it is functioning correctly. So I asked if they would do anything if anyone did have a problem and she told me that they have had no complaints. Which after reading the reviews on here I know is a lie. So I then told her that I was actually lying and I didnt need a fridge, yet. I was simply investigating Hughes to see what I would be told if I pretended like I was wanting to buy a fridge. I told her I did this because the fridge I have was purchased from Hughes around six months ago give or take for 200 dollars and it is now leaking water and going out. I told her the right thing for her company to do is to replace the fridge and she laughed at me. Then proceeded to tell me that the refrigerators they sell could be as young as five years and as old as twenty. She didnt know, but she did know there is a serial number on the appliance that can tell you its age if you type it into Google. So that means these people do not check the appliances they are selling to see how old they are, only that they function as they should for ten minutes. Thats a terrible business practice if you ask me. I even told this woman that I was going to write this review and tell everyone how terrible Hughes appliance is and she basically told me that I should not expect so much from a used appliance costing 200 dollars. Then some guy just called me back to talk to me about the call I had with his associate earlier to tell me that its common practice for any used appliance store to cover a mishap with the appliance for thirty or even sixty days after. Which he may be correct about but I even asked if he could do a repair at a discounted rate and he told me they dont do repairs. I was even going to ask about taking the old one back and selling us another used one at a discounted rate, but then the guy vaguely threatened me with legal action because he seems to think this post is going to contain slander and apparently he also seems to think that I do not have the right to free speech. At any rate if anyone has read this far I would like to know your opinion. If you paid 200 dollars for a used fridge from a used appliance store and it went out on you in about six months give or take, would you call that business back and at least SEE if they would help you in any way?Also, I would like to make it painstakingly clear that all the comments in this review are strictly my opinion and I am exercising my first amendment right to share that opinion on this social media platform. THIS PLACE IS PHENOMENAL!!! The used appliances look, smell, and operate as if they were brand new! I am a very difficult person to satisfy, but this place far EXCEEDED my expectations. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely good people. I got a Samsung washer and dryer that LITERALLY LOOKED LIKE THEY CAME STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX IN BRAND NEW CONDITION (And retail at around $2,300.00) for only $699.00!! Yes, I SAID BOTH A WASHER AND DRYER!!! Set was delivered, old appliances removed, AND THEY ALSO GAVE ME SOME CREDIT FOR MY OLD ONES! Im not big on reviewing places, but I felt as though they deserve for people to know who, and what they are. I see some bad reviews on here, but honestly cant see how anyone could say anything negative about this place. Ive bought appliances, and high end electronics from Best Buy, ABC Warehouse, and a few other big box retailers, and never felt like I got a good deal, and for some reason, the staff are always rude in these big box retail shops. Hughes Appliance is a HUGE step forward above these places, and I will NEVER even buy a microwave anywhere else lol. I hope they start carrying electronics soon. If so, I may be in there once a week! Went in looking for a washer and dryer. Found a set that I loved and was fortunate enough to have them deliver and hooked it up that same day! The service and delivery guys were great!

Absolutely the most amazing place I have ever seen. I thought the used appliances were new, and asked them where the used was lol. I was shocked when I was told I was looking at used stuff. The units werent just clean, they were sanitized. They smelled fresh, and were in amazing physical condition. And then I went on to look at prices, and I was shocked again! $2,500.00 front loading sets on pedestals for only $899.00, and in like new condition! I was even told I could see them run a cycle of clothes before I buy to observe their functionality. I was not expecting that! The level of customer care, and professionalism is what you would expect at Best Buy, but for some reason, Best Buy never impresses in those areas. I bought an unbelievably nice LG front load set on pedestals from this place, and to this day, every time I walk in my pantry, I cant believe I got them for $899.99. They even called me a week later to see how I was enjoying my new set. I never expected an experience like this from a place that is not as high profile as some of the bigger box retailers in the area, but I was pleasantly surprised. Dont pass this place up if you are looking for any type of appliance. Hughes Appliance truly is a hidden treasure. I will be back for a fridge before the end of the year lol.

They have a good assortment of used appliances but are a bit high on prices.$80 for delivery is astronomically high. Prices are fixed and they will not negotiate.They do have lots in stock.

Very shady business. Posted appliance online for low price. Advertised on Craigslist and their own website as same price. In store the price was much higher. They tried to sell me some other cheap appliance instead. Would not recommend.

Listed the price of a range on two different websites. Came into the store and the range listed was DOUBLE what they had on their website. They claimed it was a typo and proceeded to show me another range. When I told him I wasnt interested in that particular range, he said to me Well it looks like you dont need my help since you already know what you want, Jesus Christ! He turned and stormed away. I was shocked. I will never do business here and I will warn anyone looking for appliances to avoid this place at all costs.

We purchased a washer 3-4 months ago which has never worked right. The day after we purchased it they came out because it would not spin out correctly. The two technicians (if you want to call them that) didnt know how to fix it. Now after months of noise and unbalanced non spinning hell it finally has stopped spinning at all.Very unprofessional, not helpful and I am contacting the BBB bureau as this is not acceptable!!!!!NEVER GO HERE!!!!!

TO ALL OF YOU OUT THERE WHO HAVE SEEN THE BAD REVIEWS AS OF LATE ON HUGHES APPLIANCE, AS WELL AS THE SLANDEROUS CRAIGSLIST POSTS, THIS IS ALL THE WORK OF A LOCAL SCAM ARTIST/CRIMINAL NAMED BENJAMIN ANDREW BYERLINE. Feel free to go ahead and Google that name. He is the guy who claimed to be the CEO of Stop Bullying, and claimed he would set up a homeless shelter for Ft. Waynes homeless. All just scams to get Gofundme donations. I am a long time customer of Hughes Appliance and have always been treated with kindness, respect, and am made to feel as though my business is appreciated by them. I recently saw all of this negativity surfacing about Hughes, and I came in to speak to the owner to see what was going on, as I was in need of a new gas range. Jerry (The owner) explained that they were being harassed, threatened, and slandered by this Benjamin Byerline guy. Basically it started because he was trying to make sure he did not have local competition for his newest scam (The USED APPLIANCE SUPERSTORE) located at 4726 Parnell Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46825. As of recent, Jerry became aware that Benjamin Byerline had active warrants, and reported his whereabouts to the police. That apparently angered Byerline to the point of putting up multiple slanderous Craigslist ads about Hughes Appliance on a daily basis. You can tell easily they are all done by the same idiot, as all of the words he can not spell are spread across all of the posts misspelled in the same fashion. He also tries to make them look like they are from different people by saying things like Yeah, I agree with that other guy who posted about Hughes. I will include pictures of the warrants, as well as other interesting info about Mr. Byerline. I feel that people who behave like this need to be exposed, as they make us all suffer. Had I not done business with Hughes in the past and saw Byerlines posts, and reviews, it may have swayed me to not do business with them, and I would have spent WAY more money than I needed to on my washer and dryer. DO NOT let this pathetic waste of human oxygen keep you from saving money at this great appliance shop. And to the Hughes crew, thank you so much for always making me a priority and fitting me into your schedule on the same day I come in. No other appliance seller has done that in my entire 43 years of life, and me and my wife are forever grateful for making us feel as though our business is appreciated. The stove is amazing by the way! And I ended up not needing the exra flex line lol. I wish you all the best with your business, and I will be a lifetime customer!
