I always enjoy going in to see what kind of video games they have( usually its a small selection) also I enjoy the military books. The only downside I see (from my perspective) is they give me low prices on games and merchandise your selling. I will still go back..

Stopped in today at half Price books first time since the week they opened. I kept telling myself Id stop in again and again when I passed by on coliseum for a long time and I kept procrastinating until today. Im sure Ill be returning soon, they had a nice variety, decent prices good deals, friendly staff. I was looking for old vintage magazines which they didnt really have very many of, but my wife and I found some cool surprises.I bought a very graphically detailed book on anatomy that was huge/oversized and only paid $10. They had a nice assortment of magazines so Ill probably go back and check them more out soon. Even though I was looking for vintage magazines which they didnt have much of.My wife was surprised to see that they had puzzles and she loves to make jigsaw puzzles.There were about 10 other shoppers when we were there, only one wasnt wearing a mask. There were social distancing signs all over the store limiting people to one person in an alcove at a time also signs stating the requirement for masks. The store was clean, and the cashier was friendly and there was no wait.

Just grabbed the First appearance of Red Hulk from this store....they also have a nice selection for retro gaming collectors....and a great variety of comic trades...

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I had a specific ask and the recommendations were spot on! Prices are great.Take some time to explore for your next read.

Went back two times in a week. Great place to buy books 📚 but absolutely wrong place to sell books back....

Id been given a LOT of books during Covid and didnt have room to keep them all so I took them to HPB and sold them! With my profits, I bought two books by one of my favorite authors. I was impressed with the staffs friendliness, the cleanliness of the premises, and the organization and efficiency of their shopping area. I will return and would recommend for any book lover!

I love going to half price books and finding random things to add to my bookshelves. However, today I walked in and out. I walked in and was abruptly stopped by the cashier. She asked if I had a mask. I stated I did wear one due to health reasons. She looked at me and said well, we require a mask to shop inside our store. I replied fine, I will go to Barnes and Noble., She was a bit shocked and then just said okay. which I did go there and they had no problem with me being mask-less. We no longer have a mask mandate also. It is up to the business now, and that is fine. However, if I have a reason, that is all there is to it. By the way, no one in B&N asked me that question and had no issue with it. They were happy to take my money today.

Basically the prices are as advertised. Any book you get there will be half of the value of the isbin price. This is the number above the barcode on the back of the book. Older books and comics can go for more however. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean store. Worth taking a look at.

Sketchy resale shop. Took several books into sell to them, took them 20 minutes to go through. Once they were ready they had the books in five stacks and offered me a price. I asked for the breakdown of a set of the books they were buying and the employee didnt know and then started separating the books from within a stack and said one they were buying and a few others and then he said these we were just going to take. He was planning to only buy a few and then just take others without explain this if I hadnt asked more questions. Not an ethical way of doing business.

Staff is helpful, and good quality used books. They also have video games, movies, and music. Stop in and find something you didnt know you wanted.

Tried to short me on prices on the books I was trying to sell. Try to give me ONE DOLLAR FOR 10 BOOKS! Seriously

A great place to kill time and discover new/old books.I was looking specifically for extra copies of Maniac McGee for a fellow teacher, but none were available. HPB.COM is an option IF you dont mind paying S/H.

Always have something interesting to browse. I never leave empty-handed and prices are good.

I didnt find the book I was looking for, but I found lots of others that more than made up for it.Its a good place to recycle old books and to find good books at a reasonable price compared to buying them brand new.I have even found vintage books here. One I bought here was published in 1967.A great find indeed!

This is the worst place if youre trying to sell anything. They low ball you even on mint condition, shrink wrapped items. I dont understand why they do this to people and then turn around and sell it 3x the amount you got for it. Come on guys this isnt right and you know what youre doing is wrong.

Very good selection of books movies, and music at good prices. I had to leave after only one section so I didnt over spend. Looking forward to going back soon.

This place is AWESOME! My wife is a teacher, so resources are always looked for to assist with her lessons. The staff is TREMENDOUS when it comes to helping and the selection is always changing.

Ive shopped here multiple times in the past several years and I wouldnt have left a glowing review, but it was fine and even enjoyable sometimes.But on 2/12/21 I was kicked out of Coliseum store, because I have a health condition. The CDC does not recommend anyone with lung conditions ware a mask. So I often ware it under my nose, it makes it easier for me to breath, while also keeping me from accidentally spitting on someone while Im talking. When I tried to explain this to the cashier behind the counter, she didnt care, and told me to leave. This a not ok. Being forced to leave a store because of a medical condition should never happen.

Decent selection for many different genres and friendly customer service.

The employees are always pleasant and the store is always organized making it easy to shop. As for the buying of they in my opinion take advantage of their customers. They low ball the customer and then sell the items at a considerably higher price. I.E. they buy a book from a customer for 50 cents and they sell it for 7 dollars. Because of this we no longer sell our books to them now donate our items to various charities.

Great selection and friendly staff. However, when bringing in many books to sell, I was only offered $4. This kind of surprised me because the resell value of these books exceeded $150. Keep in mind this is the resell, not retail. Ill sell them on my own.

The young ladies were great. I did wind up buying several books because of them but the fat guy at the counter was extremely rude and disrespectful!! I almost left the store. Its hard to recommend a place when you have some disrespectful guy talking over you with such a nasty attitude.

Many choices for journals!! This place has really good prices if you know what your looking for. The DND and game play things are a little on the over price side. Some things are collectibles, like I said you have to know what your looking for when it comes to that.

The staff is friendly. The book selection is so-so. But they were only willing to pay me $4.84 for like 25 books that I wanted to sell them, many of which were recognizable titles worth at least 10 dollars a piece. So I am going to sell my more valuable items on my own and donate the rest.

OMG it was amazing. Due to COVID I am not currently visiting my library. Being able to pick up books at half price or less allowed me to stock up. I loved their clearance section. I picked up 6 books for less than $30. ♥️♥️♥️

This store used to be a nice place to go not after today though. We walked in the store and were meet with the NASTIEST AND RUDEST staff in the world. My wife walked out to the car after she was totally humiliated by the staff. I usually dont leave without buying something but I did today and it will be a LONG TIME before I go back if I ever do.

The selection has gone downhill. I tried to sell 8 brand new books that were newer 2020 bestsellers and was only offered 10 bucks for all 8?! One of the books cost me 30! And of course I dont expect full price back for my book cause its called half price books but sheesh. Its very rare to find what youre looking for here, youll just have to order it and at that point you could stay home and order online. Im fine being sold used copies but I bought a used copy that had writing all over the inside that I couldnt enjoy my book. How was that allowed to be resold if the condition is like that. But my new books couldnt sell for more than 10 bucks? Ok prices if you can actually find what youre want.

Horrible. I drove 20 miles to this location because when I called prior to driving there, I asked for a specific type of book, they told me: Yes, we have those! when I arrived they DID NOT!!!! None of the staff there (3 that I talked with, didnt have a clue either!!!! Im very frustrated!!!! Going to Barnes and Noble now!! Should have known to go there first!!!!!

I find a lot of cool stuff here and there, but obviously their inventory is dependent on peoples donations, so it can be hit or miss. prices make sense, being half of the listing price, but sometimes you find some really cool deals!

This is the BEST book store chain that I know of! Always something different and new on their shelves along with wide selections of records, CDs and miscellaneous items. Their prices are also amazing!

This is one of my favorite spots in town. The staff is super friendly and the selection is pretty good, more pedestrian than other HPB stores but still alright. But if I cant find what I need, the staff is always quick to offer to order.

Total rip off!!!!! I took in some valuable books and DVDs and left with $2.00. total scam!! Very greedy! If you want to sell your stuff I would advise going somewhere else. You waste more in gas just to get there. And the items they say they dont want, they ask tell you to donate to them. Anything for a buck I guess!!

Great place to find books of any kind. Have music, games and much more. Just dont try selling your things they give pennies for items worth money. Then they profit from it buy selling it for a better price while giving you nothing. They buy things for half price or less hence the name.

Ive always been a big fan of this store. Wide variety in used media! Plus they have a great dollar record section if your willing to dig a bit. Last time I was there I found a really good condition copy of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road on vinyl for a dollar.

This my type of store, great selection. Music books, comic books, records, and games.

All the sales associates were friendly and helpful. As well as negotiating their regular tasks they were doing precautionary cleaning, such as wiping door handles with sanitizing wipes and checking bathrooms. I was impressed with how well they maintain the store.
