The the technician came out and did an excellent job in reviewing my clothes washer and determined that the repair would cost more than the cost of purchasing a new one. I had to go through my home warranty to get the money to purchase a new one. Gunter Audio and Video never submitted the paperwork. My home warranty contacted them over the phone and talked to them directly. Paperwork was still not received. Another two messages were left with no response. This is the fourth attempt and still awaiting a response so my home warranty can issue a payout. This process has been going on for over two months now.
Had their appliance repair tech Greg out to look at my Fridge. Soon as I spoke to him over the phone he told me he already knew what the problem was, but since with a certain warranty company he had to come make sure first. He arrived on time and was very polite. He told me what was going on with the fridge and what I can do to keep it working properly till the warranty company makes a decision. 3 days later he called and asked if I was available for repairs. I said yes and he fixed it. And it’s working great. He was very knowledgeable on appliances and very very nice to me. I don’t know who all the other comments techs were but I’m certain wasn’t Greg. I give Greg and Gunter TV and Appliance 5 stars and a 10. The lady at the office was super sweet as well. All around great experience. I will request and call in the future.
Been a customer for 40 years. Service level is everything you dont get at the big box store. Great local company.
Had a very unfortunate experience with this company. Our home warranty company contracted them to fix our dishwasher. They came out and reset it and the tech explained it would likely fail again. It did, just 13 days later. When I called back, they said parts were on order. They showed up to fix it, and only replaced some of the parts. Their mistake caused the control panel to short out again. We have now been without a dishwasher for entire month, while they try to find additional parts or a company who can actually diagnose the problem. I would not recommend hiring them for repair work as they have poor communication and lied about waiting on a parts authorization. Needless to say, our warranty company is also looking for another repair company, too.
Looking for a tv repeat shop but these reviews are TERRIBLE! Just might have to buy a new one, not able to find a good shop in Fort Worth😞
My home warranty company hired them on 7/3/2020 to fix a gas cook top. The tech who came out didnt know how to fix it, charged me $75 and left. I called their office over a dozen times and was lied to every time I called. They told me they had to order parts to fix it but never actually ordered any parts. The tech finally called me back in Sept after countless calls and yelled and cussed at me and told me they never ordered parts and if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay them $350. They also didnt notify the warranty company that I paid them the $75 service fee so they billed me several times. This is by far the worst company Ive ever hired and wouldnt recommend them to anyone.
I have used Gunter for more than 30 years. I have never felt I was misled or taken in any way. Services have always been top notch with great professionalism. Never met a kinder group of people.
Took them a vintage Pioneer stereo receiver that was blowing fuses and paid them in advance for a diagnosis. Three weeks I called and was told they werent able to fix. I honestly dont think they ever removed the cover to look inside. I think they only want real easy things to repair
I see that some folks here that have submitted reviews have had problems with the techs. I have not had to use any of them and I cannot speak for them. However, I took in an old vintage stereo receiver that needed repair. I told them it was no-rush and to get back to me when they could. I got a call about 2-weeks later, which was fine with me, I was in no rush. Steve Gunter was more than helpful and accommodating. He took the time to explain to me what the issue was and since he couldnt get certain parts for it, allowed me to bring in another receiver I had that needed work and hed assess it no-charge. They were busy to overloading and he took all the time I needed to ask questions and look at alternatives. I say go see for yourself how well run they are. Ill be happy to continue giving them my business. They try hard to make sure the customer is happy and treated more than fairly.
My Plasma TV broke and I was able to call them and get the TV fixed. Everything seems good as new now. It wasnt an overnight fix but what is? The work was timely and the staff was nice and helpful. Highly recommended to anyone in the area!
I have had multiple warranty service visits for my awful Samsung Washer/Dryer over the years, and Gunter has always been outstanding to work with. Prompt, knowledgeable, and top quality work is all that I have ever received from them.
Cost me $80 for them to tell me my fridge water dispenser was clogged. Duh! They refused to take the steps necessary to resolve my issue. Maybe they should stick with audio and video but wouldnt trust them for that either. I repaired myself for $30 and totally unrelated to what they recommended. Awful company!
BEWARE! Gunter came out to look at my Samsung Dishwasher which was under the Home Depot protection plan. The dishwasher would shut off during the cycle, the repair tech was extremely knowledgeable and very nice. He came to our house five different times, I explained we had an electrician come out and replace breakers as well. We ruled it out it was not an electrical issue.I was obviously frustrated at this point. The protection plan people from Home Depot finally said it is the techs discretion if the machine is unrepairable, and the protection plan would replace unit at that point.The tech said to me I communicated to Mr Gunter what was going on. Mr. Gunter called Home Depot protection and said it is an electrical issue!!!THEY PASSED THE BUCK AND LEFT ME HIGH AND DRY!I purchased a new lg machine and it works perfect!No electrical issue...BEWARE!!!
They came to my house late for an appointment. Only after I called they sent the tech out. The tech came came out took a picture. He stayed 30 seconds and left. Ive made three phone calls to Gunter and still have not been given an update on my repair. I will NEVER use them again and I do not recommend them.
After our oven caught fire, Gunter TV and Appliances was sent out to us to repair it. The repairmans tone toward me felt condescending. He assumed that I was the one who unnecessarily sprayed the oven with the fire extinguisher. It was my husband who did that, and he was just being overly cautious.They seemed disorganized about getting payment from me. First, the guy forgot to come get it. Then they called and said they needed it, but that I couldnt mail it. They needed me to at home during the day so that they could come by and get my check. It took two times of them coming before they finally showed up at the right time.Worst of all, they waited three months to deposit my check! Very unprofessional and bad etiquette. Will not use again.
Very honest technicians. They arent just trying to take your money. Theyre good at why they do and will do whatever they can to fix your product.
*update* Its been two years and never had my surround sound fixed. do not give them a dime of your money.Dropped off an LG surround sound receiver to be fixed. After two weeks I called to see what the status was and was told they were waiting on a part. I allowed two additional weeks to go by and called once again. I was told they were getting the repairs done and it should be ready soon. I waited a week and heard nothing. Called again and was told they were still waiting on parts. Its been 7 months now and never heard anything. would not recommend this place for any services.
Did not have a good experience here. They took 2 weeks to give me a false diagnosis and lied to me.I took my Optoma projector in as it kept shutting down on me.2 weeks later they call me to tell me it was the color wheel that was damaged at that to fix it it would be about 60 percent the total cost of the projector and that Optoma didnt even have the part.Me, not knowing much about projector repair went ahead and picked up my unit. Only I decided to call Optoma myself.I ended up sending my unit to Optoma and not only was it not the color wheel that was damaged, but they also had the part. Clearly Gunters lied to me.(For the record, it was the lamp and 1 fan that was bad)Obviously Gunters had no interest in repairing my unit and even lied to get out of it.I will not be going back myself and I will not recommend anyone go there.

Bought a refrigerator from Nebraska furniture Mart 2 years ago and got a warranty on it. Fridge seal was letting in hot air into the freezer which was causing it to leak water. Called them to use the warranty and they hired Gunter TV and Appliance. They sent out their rep Greg which was wonderful. He did an inspection and let me know what all was wrong with it. They ordered the part which came early and he came back to fix it. He knows alot and did a great job!
Ok. Told me the CDMI board was malfunctioning. Need replace. $380. Would have appreciated more info. Power supply? Power relays? ICs? Should have asked what they were gonna be able ro check. Wasted effort. Another item for our throw away society.
The service received from Gunter Audio & Video was very professional and pleasant from start to finish. I will contact them again if I have TV or appliance issues. I like the fact that they have been around for many years and family owned for generations.
I see a lot of hate in here which totally surprises me. Out of all the appliance warranty repair companies Ive had to use over the years this one has impressed me the most. Called quickly to set up the appointment date. Called the day of the appointment to confirm and to give an expected arrival time. Diagnosed the problem and had to order the part. Called when the part arrived and showed up two hours later to fix. While fixing the issue the tech noticed a more significant problem and alerted me to it. The dishwasher tub was coming apart and leaking. He took pictures and forwarded them to me and the owner. Without my prompting, the owner contacted the warranty company to share the photos and discuss the defect. Afterwards he contacted me to share what he had done and I was totally astonished. Thus far I am totally impressed with Gunter TV & Appliance and the service I have received. Highly recommend.
I called Gunter A/V with a question about the TV connections at my house. There was no real business potential in my question for Gunter, but they still took the time to talk through my situation, answer all my questions, and help me out. Made a big impression on me, and I would certainly consider them for my business in the future. (Charley Elliott)
If I could give it zero stars I would they took my tv without leaving any form of paper work they cracked our panel and wont claim responsibility they refuse to fix it when Ive called to talk to them they are pretty much all rude and dont care that I have an issue. Would not recommend them at all.
Took them 1 month just to call LG only to find out my soundbar was an exchange only item and not repairable. Not to mention theyre extremely rude and just unhappy. Do yourself a favor and do not do business with these people. They should change their name to Grumpy Audio & Video. Believe the other 1 star reviews too.
We have been dealing with Gunters TV for many years and have been very happy with them. Example: we bought a big flat screen Sony tv from them about 3 yrs ago that developed a defect, which I researched online, and found it was called the red line of death or something like that. I called Gunters and they saw on their books that it was less than a year old (I had not even thought about the purchase date) and immediately ordered us a new tv and replaced it for no charge. They are a local family-owned business. Not many of those left.
Terrible organized company and customer service. I was scheduled for a repair for a Samsung washer that was barely over 1 year from purchase on a Friday from 8-12. I had to call to follow up but was told they could not come. No one call to inform me they could not come. I Rescheduled for the following Tuesday but received a call Monday evening saying they could not come but maybe Wednesday. Decided to use another company that honor others time and contract.
Bad services had an appointment on 12/6/19 never showed or call at all call the office 3 times said they were going to email the technician and never showed up then had another technician come on 12/9/19 and didn’t fix the problem at all dryer is still not working had another appointment on 12/19/19 and never showed up till Friday 12/20/19 from 8-12am technician showed past after noon then said it needs apart and that he will order and on 12/21/19 on the morning he will come back and and fix the dryer call the office said that the part hasn’t even arrive and they will let the technician know so he can explain till today have not respond at all they are just a joke always throwing the ball to each other and Don’t get things fix a bunch of lies and don’t even give the face to fix the problem so frustrated with them

There current rating system does not allow a 0 star rating. This should be corrected. The service I received was Subpar Tech was obviously baffled by the issue on site. Several calls to the company rendered no ressolution. Buyer Beware.
Service tech Aaron was rude and inconvenienced by having to do his job and look at dryer on first visit. Dryer was working, took dryer apart and then the motor didnt work, ordered new motor and 7 days later replaced, now apparently there is a fuse blown. My dryer has been down for 3 weeks now. and he left the dryer in pieces to service another customer and maybe return with the fuse, he said, I dont know it might be another week without a dryer.

Horrible people. Terrible service. We bought the extended warranty on our Samsung fridge from Best buy. Had to use this service on year 2. The service tech was rude and acted like we were an inconvenience. Recently our fridge died while we were on vacation. Submitted the request and were told they were coming today. When I called to ask where they were they said they werent coming. They rejected the service call. What? What kind of repair company doesnt want to repair items? Why the hell are they even part of a service contract then? Now Im glad they rejected it. I wasnt looking forward to dealing with their rude repair person again. Dont use this company if you can help it. Just pay for a repair service that treats you well.
Just had my LGTV looked at by jim gunter repair. the tv would constantly reboot every minute or so with a slow flashing red light. For $80 They looked at it for all of 3 minutes then called LG and rather than properly troubleshooting it himself got an opinion from the tech on the phone to tell me it was the screen panel itself which would cost around $800 which is about the price of the tv itself, but could not tell me why, since the screen worked but rebooting obviously the panel was fine so after just reading a few forums and doing my own research. i ordered the main board and replaced it for $50 and it worked great! I then called and told them they mis diagnosed the TV and i would like my money back but they said no. The biggest problem here is i could have spent the $800 and still had a broken TV and then they would have figured it out and ripped me off even more when they finally realized it was the main board. **Check the reviews with people and the BBB of companies before you hire them, I just learned the hard way and lost $80
Fixed a powered to were speaker for me. I brought it home and noticed that it wasnt as loud as it usually is, so brought it back in. Properly fixed it with no charge.
Although the repairman showed up a little past his 2 hour window of arrival (with no call stating he was on the way or running late I almost thought he wasnt coming...) he seemed friendly, professional and fixed the television fairly quick. After he repaired the television I stated that I needed to go up stairs and contact my father to make payment by phone with bank card) two or three minutes later the repairman walked out of my living room up a flight and a half of stairs and then proceeds to make his way towards my bedroom. That was TOTALLY inappropriate. Who walks through a customers house to their bedroom? I was really thrown for a loop with that and just wanted him to get out of the house. After he left I decided to call the office to convey my feelings about what happened and the fellow that I spoke with seemed very apathetic about the situation.
ZERO Stars!!! Poor service. Associate kept putting off coming to check on my washing machine for a week. When he finally showed up after 5 on a Friday, he stayed for 10 minutes and only opened the filter (despite replacing the drain pump even though he had the part in his hand) and then leaving. He stated if the machine didnt work again to call him back. I called back within 30 minutes when machine failed again. He told me to just clean the filter again. I did and then called him again. Associate would not respond. I called the manager the next morning asking for a different associate to come out. Manager stated, Its all intermittent work. Its just guessing. Manager would not send anyone else out even though this associate went into the hospital. They do not know what they are doing. I will let my warranty company know that they should never use this company again.
