Much better prices then youre going to find another place here in town. And the staff is always right there willing to help when Im lost looking for an item. Highly recommend them for their personal touch of customer service.

Manager, Heather, has terrible customer service. The employee apologized to me in her regards as she walked away. Returns are “an inconvenience” to them having to keep their own malfunctioning product. Over the last 3 years I have purchased many flowers and plants and they always seem to have some sort of bug as I get a closer look ready to put them in the ground. And as usual when I call to mention, hoping they get rid of the infested product- it’s my fault not theirs but I wasn’t even asking for reimbursement. Seems to be the answer every single time.

Update: My sister has reached out to Ace Hardware in fortuna and let them know what happened. The owner has since been into the store and failed to call back. We are hoping a resolution will be met. At this moment it does feel like the owner is avoiding the problem at hand. 👎🏼👎🏼If I could give 0 stars to Fortuna Ace Hardware I would. My sister went to purchase paint, in Fortuna, for her daughter that is due in a couple of months. She drove 45 minutes and when she came to my house we found this surprise. Her 2 year old suv had an ENTIRE gallon of paint spill inside. Now the asphalt in my driveway even has pink paint all over it. I liked this store but now I will choose to support other businesses if I can.

I worked at Fortuna Ace as a cashier and I have to say yes the employees are very kind and helpful to the customers, but the managers do not do their jobs or help the employees as much as they should...the politics there are just stupid...and u do not get full breaks or even know when you can go to lunch.The pay is reasonable and u do get your pay checks on time, however the managers love to over work you...even if its not part of your job ( so basically u are getting paid to do one job but end up doing 5). Out of all the retail stores I have worked at in Humboldt this is the nicest so far...but I would not recommend people to work here .

Always find what I need! This trip was for my DIY american flag pole and mounting supplies lol metal pipe, rubber O-rings and metal zipties :)

The people are there to help but were not able to not find what I wanted, a coupler for PVC, but management is lacking in the fact they dont know anything about the equipment they sell.

Employees do not wear masks appropriately. cashiers are the worst. They are constantly messing with their masks, handling money and interacting with people. Their masks cover the mouth and chin. Noses exposed. Use the masks properly people!!!!!!

Super friendly and helpful and knowledgeable...

Several weeks ago ace was doing great on covid protection protocols; however, today lumber yard employees had no masks and several store employees were running around without masks. Some gas masks with th he nose not covered. I was very disappointed and will not be shopping there in the future. I am in the older high risk group. Customers will begin relaxing wearing masks if the staff are not.

Yesterday, while in Schaefers Fortuna store, I noticed two men walking around the store without face masks. One near the paint department desk brushed by me ignoring facial covering and social distancing. I informed him that he needed to wear a mask when inside a public place. He stated Im an American. I told him that Im also an American, a war veteran and a senior citizen and that he was putting me and my wife at risk by his behavior. The attendant at the paint dept desk wouldnt look at me when I glanced at him. I had a few more items on my list (we only go out once a week) but immediately went to the cashier, paid for our items and left. We wont be back until the management can guarantee our safety by ensuring that everyone who enters their store wears facial covering and maintains proper distancing. I feel bad because I like the Fortuna Ace Hardware store.

Ace Hardware is close to my home in Fortuna, CA. Great place to find All of your hardware needs. They also have a great garden area with all the seasonal favorites. Will be going at least monthly. Will recommend to my friends and family. Employees very helpful and knowledgeable.

This is the best ace store around Humboldt. They offer the largest selection of inventory. Nice and helpful staff. Wish the hours were longer.

Ron in plumbing was very helpful. I changed my review from one star (for being refused usage of the restroom today by the store manager) to 5 stars due to Rons helpfulness and the friendliness of the cashier. Perhaps they should manage the store. I know when Im being profiled. Just because Im dirty doesnt mean Im a bum, it just means I do dirty work.

Theyre always very helpful in finding what a very non-handy person cant find. When I ask for help, they always take the time to take me to the right items and then hello me get exactly what I need. Theyre my default for anything I need around the house from light bulbs to tools to paint to extension cords.

A good home town hardware store. That have knowledgeable employees and are always willing to order something that they dont carryI have shopped at Fortuna Ace Hardware for many years. That is going to have to change. I have read reviews that they are not enforcing the facial covering regulations which worries me. I didnt get a chance to make my own observation since they are now opening at 9 am. Really guys? A hardware store that doesnt open until mid morning? I just changed to Forbusco Lumber. They are still opening at 7:30 am and are strict about Covid safety.

A very well stocked Ace Hardware store. The staff is friendly and helpful, as well as knowledgeable about most of their products.Beware of three day weekends! Since this store is situated in one of those places that are a typical destination for campers and tourists they may be out of some things like propane canisters or bug sprays, but again, very well stocked and easy in/out access near the 101 freeway.

We find much of what we need here. Dont go expecting a home depot or you may be disappointed. It has basic needs for painting, gardening, plumbing, lighting, grilling, etc. Plus, you can also buy licenses here. I get my fishing license here every year.

My favorite neighborhood hardware store!

I arrived at almost closing time and would not have even gone in except that the Ace Employee (named Cash) who was closing up encouraged me to come in. Not only did he assist me with finding an appliance dolly very quickly, he was able to get it in my small car. All the Ace employees were very nice and not one seemed to mind that I was there at a time when most employees just want to close shop and go home. Really good customer service!

A little pricey, but most items that you need are right there in one place - very friendly and helpful staff, not always the most knowledgeable, but theyll find someone who is if need be.Also very conveniently located near two auto parts stores, three grocery stores, fast food and other eateries, and an outdoor/coming supply center.

They were very helpful.

Just stood in line behind 2 good ole boys chatting with the rude older streaked hair cashier for a good 5 minutes while i waited..ridiculous. the other younger cashier who finally checked me out was polite and professional.. will not be returning to this store unless no other choice .. crappy shopping experience.. they werent even busy but it took forever to make a simple purchase.
