This is a nice restaurant where locals gather. There was a wide variety of dishes, and the served ones were delicious. It seemed to have good infection control.

Everything was delicious but the omelette and biscuits and gravy really stand out. Omelette was perfectly cooked, and the flavorful country gravy was steaming over very tender fresh baked biscuits. We are leaving fat and happy!

A real old fashioned diner experience! I had the steak sandwich, my husband one of their famous burgers…both were delicious. The BIG hits were the homemade pies. Best butterscotch and chocolate fillings with fluffy meringue topping and delicate crust. Be sure to leave room!!!!

Visiting Frankfurt, KY for the first time ever and stumbled across this hidden gem. My Beloved devoured her meatloaf sandwich and I inhaled my bacon & beer cheese burger (best burger ever). It was so good Im making a note to remind myself to send Valentines day cards..it is still socially acceptable to send those right?

The menu prices are a little too high on Google it said their hamburgers were 3.99 and when I got there they were 5.79 for a hamburger then the shake was 4.29. The cheeseburger was 5.99 fries 2.59 so for jus that total was $19.78. On top of that the 🍔 were dry and the buns was hard. But the fried were hot which is why I give them 2 stars. So this is not a affordable place for familys and low income people. RICH PEOPLE ONLY

Came from Topeka, Kansas to visit the state of Kentucky and stopped here at this gem of a restaurant. The Cliffside Hot Brown was extraordinary and the service was great. Highly recommended!!

Small out of they way place. Reminds me of younger days traveling and eating at mom and pop dinners with that old kinda style and home style meals. Waitresses exceptionally nice and attentive to your needs. Could not complain. Glad I got the experience of eating here and hope if you are in the neighborhood you take the chance and stop in. You wont regret it.

Hamburgers are to thick but really good flavor, chili sauce isnt as good as it used to be. Iced tea is pretext in sweetness. Love the onion rings

I waited till I had my second visit to post but hands down great food, awesome service and friendly folks. I will definitely visit them again. Its always a delightful surprise to find hidden gems such as these. I look forward to returning for more of their hospitality and food. Its nice to see unusual items like a fried bologna sandwich or brussel sprouts. It was great to find a Chicken Philly steak on the menu. Recommend eating here for sure!

Eating fried bologna and fried taters while being serenaded by the musical styling of, one, John Couger Melloncamp is about as hometown as it gets. Nostalgic booth and bar stools give this restaurant a real small town diner feel. Clean, lovely staff, and good food. Would recommend.

I live about 6 blocks away from cliffside I have been goin to cliffside my entire life. its awesome and the food is like your grandmother made. Nothing tastes like restaurant food because it isnt. if you dont stop in your definitely missing out. and you actually get plenty of food on your plate. I always take some home because I couldnt eat it all every review on here is 5 star and good.

I had the Reuben sandwich and thought it was excellent but at $7.50 with no fries was a little much. It seemed to be like a bunch of friends running the diner (all females) After my meal I had to have a piece of that cake and OMG it was delicious. I would come back and easy here again.

Artery-clogging good! This place has a $8.49 lunch special for an entree, side, and a drink. Pretty tasty, but of course pretty greasy!

The concept of a 1950s diner was cute. It was more of a GREASY SPOON. Glad they had a roll of paper towels on the table to absorb some of grease. Fries could have been cooked a little more. But OK is the best I can give it. Prices are reasonable.

Grandmas love, moms home cooking. If you want just plain good food eat here. Not a vegan, not greasy or over seasoned. Nice portion size. The cook jams to the toons as she (in sight) take care even to butter the toast, properly, the way grandma did.

Old-timey diner tucked away in a beautiful part of Frankfort, right near the Kentucky river. We ate breakfast there on a Saturday morning and were not disappointed. The food was great (dont miss their home fried potatoes, not the hash browns, ask for the fried potatoes!), the service was also good and we enjoyed the friendly locals, several of whom spoke to us and gave us great information about the area. If we get back to Frankfort some day, this will be a stop for sure.

A hidden gem, less then a mile from the Capital building. Great food and service! CDC compliant, indoor with A/C and outdoor dining too. All the food was hot and well prepared. Friendly service. Family friendly.

Waitress said the mashed potatoes were BUDS & tasted real BUT they were awful. The white gravy was good as were the chicken livers❣️ And the lima beans were good too!

Love this little diner. It has seating at the bar (which was currently closed for covid), booth seating (separated by curtains), and outside seating. The food was great and the staff was working really hard.

Wow what a nice place for breakfast! The 4 lady that work on Saturday morning are so sweet. The food was amazing.

$10 burger for $5. I ordered the beer cheese and bacon burger with lettuce, tomato, onion. It was a handmade patty!! Who does that nowadays? The burger was so thick, I struggled to take a bite. And they serve crispy crinkle cut fries!

My favorite place to go eat! To me its like a mom and pop kinda place. Their sweet tea is the best and my mom agrees. I like to get their chili and grilled cheese its good. Their cornbread and fried potatos are good too. I also like to get their meatloaf. Most their stuff is homemade. The workers there seem pretty nice. When my mom and I go there we receive our food pretty quick and weve never had to wait long.

This is the most adorable place. Great service and food. Want to visit again. Fun time!

We stopped here traveling through. It didn’t look like much from the outside but don’t let that fool ya! The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The setting inside is like a little retro diner.

They have the best coney dogs that I have ever had.

This place is literally a greasy spoon. Sanitation is not one of their priorities. Proper hand washing doesnt exist here. Rude workers, trailer park types. Food isnt special. Dangerous Parking. I wonder how the health department hasnt shut them down already.Try Melissas Diner instead.

Mushroom Swiss burger was easily the best burger Ive eaten in my life. Staff were super friendly and funny, the classic rock playing was a nice addition to the cute vintage vibe! Covid precautions were also really smart and i felt very comfortable! All the staff wore masks and the booths were seperated by plastic curtains, the bar is also sectioned off so only tables are in use. Already DYING to come back 🖤

Cliffside Diner is a Historical Landmark in Frankfort, Ky. They serve some of the best food you will ever eat. The hamburgers are freshly pattied and fried to perfection. If you want something more substantial may I suggest the open face roast beef or the fried chicken. My mouth is watering thinking about it. Never have I ever had a bad meal or bad service. I wish I could give it more stars.

Right now theres no inside dining, so you sit outside next to the cliff beside the road. Its nice there lush variation all around. The servers are really nice and attentive. The food was good.

Great unassuming diner with a surprisingly good menu of standards and daily specials. We love the tucked away location against a cliff along the Kentucky River; driving to it is half the experience. And it feels like a throwback to the 50s. We really enjoy just going there as much as we enjoy the food. Do try the burgers. They have the small town flavor that I used to love growing up on a farm.
