If I could, I would give them six stars. I bought a $200 mountain bike for my son. However, the front brake disc kept rubbing the caliber. I tried asking a bike store whose name ends with doctor, but was told that they dont diagnose or repair the bike at this price level at all. Last week, I wanted to give a last try so I went to wheelbase with the front wheel. I told a guy about my issue. He gave me a very reasonable quote before true my wheel. I went back with adjusted wheel, but found the issue was still there. Thus, today I brought the whole bike to their store. To be frank, I didnt expect them to help me again since it is a just cheap and simple bike. To my surprise, the other guy examined my bike without any hesitation and pointed out the issue is related to brake disk. He fixed front wheel disk with his tool, and now disk will not touch the caliber without squeezing the brake. He also helped me with the rear brake disk. I asked him how much I should pay for it. The guy just said forget about it. I am surprised again. Actually, if they hadnt helped me today, I would have returned the bike and restarted bike shopping again. They are absolutely one of best repairing services I have used in this country. In the end, the guy even told me how to fix this issue in the future with flexible wrench. I will definitely use their service again. I wish I could find similar service in auto repairing.

This shop is awesome. I have been a customer of Bike Doctor for the past few years. But based on the service at Wheel Base Bikes; I will start brining my business there instead. I want to give a 5-star rating to Chris; who did an exceptional job on my bicycle today at the shop. Will be back soon for a full-tune up.

As someone who wanted to get into cycling after coming from Walmart Schwinn bikes I decided to go check this place out. I had received several rude comments from the younger gentleman who worked in the store with comments like do you know how to ride a bike or how to switch gears? Which as one who has ridden bikes all my life I feel proficient to both mount and change gears on a bike. After receiving these kind of off hand comments I would never patronize this place. I rather go somewhere where as a beginner to true cycling I can feel comfortable

They do a great job on repairs and are very knowledgeable about good places to ride. Just tell them the general area youre headed and theyll make great recommendations about the best way to get there and things to.looknout for (like railroad tracks).

The support and service is consistently very good. They do a nice job with maintenance and repair too.

We brought our daughters bike to get repair and they helps us quickly and had the extra things we needed. Definitely recommend them.

Great work! Had to haggle with them to take more money then they charged me. I had a stuck BB which they got out for me and put on a new Crankset. Great shop.

I cant speak to the quality or pricing of repairs, but having just paid 84 dollars for very basic consumables (8 SPD chain, 12 feet of cable housing, and 2 shift cables), i can say their pricing is definitely extremely high. Wouldnt go back.

Ive been taking my bike to Wheel Base for years because the bicycle maintenance service is outstanding. Tom and Michael do a great job making sure the service is done well and done right the first time. I recently got new derailleurs and just asked them to pick out what to get. The ones they installed were reasonably priced and have worked great. I highly recommend Wheel Base for taking care of your bike because they really care about making the bike the best they can for you.

They go above and beyond to help you in a prompt manner. The turnaround times are unable to be beat locally, there is no other bike shop that will get it to you that fast. They will take care of you as a repair customer.

Excellent professional staff. Prices are comparable to most other bike specialty stores. The complementary tune up is worth its weight in gold. The bike looks brand new and their attention to detail was impeccable. They even replaced a tiny broken reflector without mentioning it or charging me. That is class.

Prices are great. They do a lot of stuff for free for me. They always offer advice that is not conducive to them making any money from me. I can pop in any time and put air in my tires and chat. They always do all work the same day for me. I get my lights, mirrors, locks/chains, racks from them. They carry the best quality of those items. Always take my bike there when I get a flat. I get a new tube and labor for like 20 bucks or so. They clean/grease/replace my wheel bearings once a year as needed. I stopped doing all that stuff myself once I found Wheel Base.

Called to purchase two bikes over the phone and was rushed off of the phone after asking two brief questions, because he was trying to sell a bike on the floor. I obviously understand the need to balance the floor and phone but customer service and treatment of all potential customers still matter.

Excellent bike shop. I have been buying bikes here since 1985. They have a full range of bikes and do custom work. Triathlon bikes, racing, mountain, and kids bikes. They fit you to the proper size. I will not buy my bikes from any other store.

After buying 5 bikes and 3 racks, I was just blown off in the store ready to purchase a new roof rack and two new bikes, seems like they didnt have time for a repeat customer...was also told good luck finding a bike elsewhere by the owner. So much for keeping business local.

These guys are so friendly! We came in just to fill in air in our sons bike, a stoller and other toys and they just showed us so much hospitality even though we bought nothing! Its a great place! They make all the bikes and it looks fantastic! We hope to purchase our new bikes from this shop soon!

We have been shopping at Wheelbase for over 10 years. Service has always been extremely professional! Their service on our bikes has been excellent as well! I highly recommend this store for all your biking needs.

Not a fan. They make you feel unwelcome. I’d check out other places before coming back. I tried going there a few times and they definitely have a snobby attitude.

Tom helped me find an obscure part for an old trek multitrack. He didnt have the exact thing, but it came close enough that we were able to figure how to cleanly modify it to be perfect. Good selection, good prices and very good staff. Great little shop.

Awesome staff. They offered excellent customer service, and gave me great advice, even though it wasn’t conducive to their best interests. I went to a shop in Worman’s Mill 15 mins before and was treated so much better at Wheel Base and they made quick work of my son’s Trek. I will definitely be doing more business with them soon. I was amazed by their candor and customer service. Just wonderful customer service. Check these guys out. Seriously.

Its a free country. People know they can write bad things with few or no repercussions. But the two one-star reviews are, in 2017 parlance, the handiwork of FAKE reviewers. Seriously, not to be believed. If you are a serious cyclist with a high-value bike, theres no better shop in the area. Bar none. If you are new to the sport and looking for advice, the staff is supportive, instructive and realistic. Tom and Michael are the real deal.

Ive been a customer here since my Father got me my first real bike when I was 7. Upgraded a few years later here to a Bridgestone, and got my first super nice road bike, a Colnago, here. Tom and all of the staff are just wonderful people and a true joy to know and visit.

Always has what I need

I am an avid road rider and commuter and have been working on my road bikes for the last few years. I have used wheel base for the last six months and have been continually disappointed in their service and the demeanor of the staff. While their selection and service are both ok, the staff with a one exception has never made me feel welcome. While they may know more about bikes and bicycle repair than most of their customers that is no excuse for making customers feel stupid or uneducated. Their services are also very over-priced, almost double the other shops in town. Hey explained that my spoke replacement cost $50 because it was a lot of work to take the rotor and cassette off, a process which takes 2 minutes tops. Trueing a wheel takes time but dont give me a bogus answer to why a service is priced the way it is. I will no longer be using wheel base for my bicycle needs.
