Mask wearing isn’t consistent with customers or employees and the selection is like most thrift stores and can be hit or miss.A few items are overpriced, but generally I’ve found some good things. Most frustrating is that there isn’t a claiming system for furniture items, so if you’re interested in furniture there aren’t any real options if you’d like to keep shopping the rest of the store before paying. I asked the cashier, Linda, about the policy for holding furniture while in store and she said I could either carry the coffee table I was interested in to the counter or take my chances that someone else purchase while I continued to look around. That seems pretty absurd (since the table had a heavy marble/stone top in excess of 30 lbs) and I chose not to buy it on the principle alone.Even if there isn’t a policy, she had a poor attitude and didn’t seem concerned about its effect on customers. Yikes.

This is a nice place unfortunately they are charging as much, if not more than buying it new. I understand they need to make money however they are getting their items for free! Stop being so greedy. I mean look at the price for this chair $1000.00, even if the price is or was around that, why charge so much? There is NO HUMANITY in Habitat for Humanity and you guys should be ashamed!

Dont bother. Its the only place Ive been to in Frederick that requires masks for vaccinated people. No one that worked in the store cared that I didnt have a mask on except when I was leaving a girl with dark, thick curly hair stopped me and was rude and unprofessional. She wanted to start an argument with me. I walked away so I wouldnt say anything to hurt her feelings.

Excellent as usual. Dropped off several tools I no longer use, and bought a couple that will be useful after cleaning & restoration.

Review №12

If I could give negative stars, I would. They are not friendly, helpful or grateful for donations. They should keep in mind that people do not have to donate there. They wouldnt provide bins or boxes for me to unload several totes of power and manual tools, drills, saws, clamps etc., they didnt offer to help me unload. They did not even thank me for donating to them and they actually threw away (in dumpster) good working items in front of me (because I think they didnt know what they were looking at) it was very disrespectful and just because they didnt recognize or know what those items do doesnt mean someone else wouldnt know what they are or they could have asked me. Will NEVER donate to this ungrateful store again!

Prices are very reasonable and in some cases a steal! Most of the items look like they came from grandmas house but with creativity and some cheap mats, can be made new again. Profits go to a great cause too. Careful of parking lot, not laid out well and pattern could lead to fender bender.

Price is slightly less than buying it from Amazon considering that the items are used or a second hand items. But it is cheaper nonetheless.

Great place for lightly used or used/dented/scratched furniture. The quality of the furniture is higher than going to a thrift store. And the prices are better because the people working here actually know what theyre pricing. Toward the back of the place, theres a lot of construction materials that is super cheap! Id recommend checking it out if you havent yet. Theres also a number if knick knacks in the front, too.

Great fun, Great People, Great deals. I enjoy shopping here every time I go and in years have never had a bad experience. Brenda, the store Manager, has really reinvented the overall facade of the store and has made it even easier to locate that unique “ something “ you may be hunting down. I commend all the employees for their positive attitude, willingness to help and making you feel as if you are part of the family. Please keep up the great work all of you, I need you!Regards,Frank Manning

Some of their prices are above average to high for thrift so sometimes its hit or miss on finding deals but its a great thrift store for tools and building supplies. They also have a good mission.

Not grateful or appreciative for donations. Don’t even offer to help unload the car. Rude dock employees because I needed my totes back when I asked if they had a box.Won’t donate here again as this is not the 1st time I felt they were unappreciative for donations. They even turned some away a really nice headboard and footboard saying they had enough.Didn’t even bother to thank me for my donations.

Restore is OK. It started out as a thrift store. They are trying to go from the thrift store model to a high end consignment/antique store, only they don’t pay people for their donations. They rely too heavily on Amazon searches for pricing.I found a small ceramic item for $40. That seemed outrageously expensive, so I searched it on Amazon and found a private seller offering it for $80.Ok, so Restore runs an Amazon search and cuts the price in half, fair enough, right? Well the problem is that when I did a Google search I found hundreds of people selling the same $40 item at Restore but for only $5.I found a worn out nonstick pan for $10 at Restore, went to target and got a brand new one for $12.Restore is going through a very awkward stage right now. They are too focused on trends and brand names, and researching every DONATION they receive to maximize resale.I personally do not donate to Restore anymore. I’m worried my donations will end up being sold at retail price to someone with money to burn and not someone in need. Please donate your goods elsewhere.

Its a great place to buy used furniture, tools, building supplies and about almost anything else. It all depends on what is donated each day. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place over Goodwill.

El
Review №33

When habitat first started it was at reasonable prices and mostly items needed to repair or help build a project around your home. All these items have been donated by good people and companies. I am not sure why it has become such a big for profit thing now. Alot of the things sold arenot building supplies and they are the only thing you can get at a reasonable price. Habitatis not the only place doing this Goodwill has gone crazy pricing their donations. You can still go to Salvation Army and find pretty good prices.

Great thrift store in an expanded area, nicely laid out. All sorts of items available at a fraction of the original price, ranging from kitchen cabinets to furniture, front doors, lighting, even hardware and tools. I like browsing through old electronics, remembering when VHS was state of the art. It all goes to a very worthwhile cause. Stop by and pay a visit, or donate, its all good.

So I am a fully vaccinated adult. There are no mask mandates for the city, state or county. I was asked to leave this store today. When I asked the manager Russel why he told me that although he was also fully vaccinated the masks helped his allergies and he didnt want to stop wearing them. FYI Restore is a for profit franchise and when I asked who they donated money to in the community he never did give me a straight answer. PLEASE DONATE TO A CHURCH THRIFT STORE that way you know your really helping your community..and not supporting a store that doesnt believe in science.

Ever sinсe Mike (store manager) is left this store became insane!!! All good staff disappeared, what you can see in this store just 100x overpriced second hand items. One day a saw damaged mass production art work made in Mexico for 500 $$$$$$$$$!!!!!! You can not find such prices even in antique stores in down town... If you want to be shocked and waist your time, more than welcome shop in this store!!! Good luck!!!

Actually took a decent set of couches there right before they were getting ready to close and and they refused to take the couches because they didnt want to unload the couches from the trailer. Its crazy of nonprofit that refuses stuff.. So I just took it over to Goodwill if they were glad to take the couches...

Tried to donate building supplies but was turned away by an ignorant old man working there. I was unloading a 2’x5’ piece of concrete board and some other scraps. He barked at me, that they don’t take scraps. Then his beady eyes looked over my shoulder at the boards in the open trunk of my truck, and said, “we don’t take any of that”. The piece in my hand was large enough for a backsplash, hearth or any of a host of things. The remaining concrete boards in my car were (3’x5’) FULL SHEETS! This organization fixes houses right?! Rather than explain to this incompetent mouth-breather, I drove off with all the materials. This is why more people don’t donate to charities. Uneducated, rude employees treat a charitable act like I was dumping garbage in their front yard. Restore, you disappoint me and you dissappoint the people you are claiming to help.
