This place does not deserve a five star rating in my opinion. I walked in to find out half of the shop is not for sale. Their sign says Baltimore Gold of Frederick jewelry, coins, and antiques. Misleading if you ask me. Don’t go here looking for coins because he won’t sell any. Also, beware of their big bad dog. I asked to see an item in a case. She proceeded to the case with her dog on a leash told it to sit and stay as I waited to see the item. I told her I won’t grab it and wait till you hand it to me. She said “ I know you won’t because if you did you’d get bit by the dog”. CRAZY if you ask me. I was just trying to be nice stating I wouldn’t touch her stuff without consent. Go there at your own will. If you’re scared of dogs I wouldn’t ask to look in the display cases. Thanks for the awesome welcoming experience my first time in Frederick!!

Very friendly people, beautiful antiques and jewelry! Honest dealers! I brought a gold watch and a pair of gold earrings in to sell. Before I came in I checked gold prices on web and used a postal scale to determine weight of both of my items. The were right on! If I calculated correctly, they gave me 85%-90% of current spot pricing. Since they need a bit of profit, I was very happy to accept their offer. They had no idea who I was and could have quoted me any price. They were Honest! So good to see that! I will highly recommend them.

I’m very disappointed in the service I received I drove from Baltimore to Frederick to do some earlyChristmas shopping found a few pieces made a deposit for a layaway call back 2 weeks later to pay on the layaway only to be told my merchandise was sold through their auction website when I inquired about the auction website I was told it wouldn’t be a good recommendation for me The inventory on the auction site were priced higher then in the actual store. I was left under the impression it was more to the story & they weren’t being truthfulThey act as if the auction website were for exclusive customers only I’ve been a fan & a customer for years when they were located in Baltimore My experience was a smack in the face & heartbreaking Just make sure all sales are final and you have a receipt

After doing some research, I visited the shop today and sold a gold ring. The service I received was superb...100% honest and professional. I am so happy to have discovered this shop, as I am fairly new to Baltimore. They also offer watch and jewelry repair, which I plan on utilizing in the future. I expect those services to be as exceptional as the manner in which I was treated today. I will update the review after utilizing their repair services. Overall, I give them a 10 out of 10 rating. I visited the store to sell some old rings I inherited and was pleasantly surprised. Ive never done this before, and was afraid of having to deal with a pushy individual who wouldnt have time for me. Paul was the exact opposite - a perfect gentleman, not pushy at all, and took a great deal of care assessing each piece. He was happy to tell me the price he was paying on the gold. He even discouraged me from trading in one ring because he already had many and couldnt pay a good price. I ended up trading it for a lovely ring from his huge selection. He also has a great selection of jewelry to browse (tempting) and offers reasonably priced alterations to jewelry you want to keep. Several people who came while I was there seemed also to have a pleasant experience. Highly recommend

I visited the shop to sell some gold pieces that I no longer wanted. I had been to a few other places and was offered next to nothing. I had done my research and knew what my jewelry was worth. Paul made me a more than fair offer, without me having to haggle or anything. The shop itself is lovely and the service cannot be beat. I cant imagine having a better experience at a store. The owners really know their business and are wonderful to talk to. They are honest and very personable..... after my experience, I wouldnt dream of doing business with anyone else.

My husband and I visited Baltimore Gold and Silver today and could not have had a better experience. Paul, Ken, and Paul were a pleasure to deal with. They are professional and very fair. We were warmly welcomed and felt instantly comfortable and at ease. We had done some research prior to visiting their store and we certainly chose the right place. Today we were selling some items and Paul took the time to go over each piece in detail. While waiting in the store I had the opportunity to look at some of the jewelry they had for sale and they had many beautiful, quality items that were priced to sell.The price he gave us for our collection was very fair. I suggest going in on a Saturday when parking is not as difficult (as long as you read the signs!!) We have promised them we will be loyal customers in the future and I intend to keep that promise with pleasure!

I sold a few random pieces of gold jewelry, the owners were very friendly and accommodating. Plus Joplin, their sweet pooch is super cute.

I cant wait until I shop and visit the new store in Frederick. I miss the quality and variety of jewelry Baltimore Gold offers. I brought my first gold ring in 1983 and I would and have not brought any of my jewelry anywhere else. Where else can you go and you have a set amount you want to spend and I have always walked out smiling. If anyone is looking for Engagement/ Wedding rings please dont go to the Diamond Store, Jared, Kay etc. you literally get what you pay for . Ok Charles now you know where to go for my Engagement ring .

Spectacularly set up with wonderful and helpful owners

I first started doing business with Baltimore Gold & Silver in 2011 when I was 22. Back then, I wasnt exactly the most knowledgable customer. I had never purchased precious metal, coins, or quality jewelry gifts before. Instead of being taken advantage of for my ignorance, Paul & Paul spent a tremendous amount of time educating me. Though they had been in business for longer than I was alive, and I hadnt spent a wheat-penny with them yet, they treated me with more appreciation and respect than any other business to date. Needless to say, I became a loyal customer. I started stopping in after work to talk shop, buy a coin here, and a bar there. I slowly became an educated investor, enthusiast, and friend with each and every stop. You can buy this kinda stuff from a million different distributors to be honest with you - but youll never find owner/operators like this. Never.

I travel from out of state to make purchases of jewelry.....some of the most honest and trustworthy people I know in the business. Ive been a customer of Baltimore Gold since 2010. Theyre professionalism and knowledge of Vintage Silver, and their expanse collection of Vintage and Up to Date Jewelry and High End Collectables is what keeps me coming back.

Now i know why this p[lace has 5 stars. Excellent family type of service. recently a relative passed and left several pounds of assorted silver coins. They took the time with me to unpackage and go thru each item to assess it and give me a estimate for what they would pay for it. Really helped my family out to be able to take those estimates home to assess what we will do with it all. Nothing remarkable in our collection - mostly bulk bouillon rather than collectables but still most helpful and friendly service. Will return to these awesome people to sell when we decide how to disseminate the mostly silver cions and some jewelry items.
