I love to go to Earls. The store is well stocked, the files in the glad and paint areas and in the Post Office are always helpful and make the visit a positive experience. So why not 5 stars? Because their counter workers are miserable, and they love to force their bad attitude on customers. Maybe a friendly greeting would be expecting too much, but if Ive bought a toilet repair kit, do you really think I want to schlep it out to my car without a bag?

Its so nice to go to a smaller place that has been in business forever. They have all the basics and more.

I give Earls one star. This would be 4 stars if it wasn’t for the cashier. I see another reviewer has also had a problem with the cashiers. I found what I was looking for but the blonde woman at the cash register did not help in anyway. The cashier was short with her replies, rude, and probably should not be working for a business where she needs to interact with others. I previously had no issues with earls but I will no longer shop at earls due to their staff.

This location has so many memories from my childhood to the present time. I love seeing the coin operated childrens Horse in the front of the store. When I was a young child that was the highlight of my time spent with my grandparents was a trip to Earls Grocery and riding the Horse outside the store. Now its Earls Tru Value but it still has the same small town feel and service it had when it was a grocery store. The staff are always helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. The owners are wonderful and treat everyone las if youre family. Anything you might need if they dont have it just ask. If its possible to get in stock for you its done. I love the local support and decor they offer. This is the place to go for all your hardware needs.

Went to the post office inside Earls True Value Hardware. They also have typical hardware store items as well as some seasonal items.

Support the local hardware store!! We just moved to Fredricksburg and I was excited to see a local hardware store. Been in here 2 times already, everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable about where stuff is. Always a worker near eager to answer questions! Highly recommend this place and again support these local businesses when able!

This place hasnt changed since they opened many, many years ago...ALL of the employees, even the very young ones, are friendly, helpful, and capable. Whatever youre looking for, odds are very good they will have it there. And if they dont, they will let you know where you can find it. I love to just walk around & see all the things they have there. AND, their prices are VERY reasonable...

Local landmark and treasure. Staff always helpful. The place to go to get your chainsaw or mower blades sharpened, or to mail off that package to out of state relatives (Post Office in the back).

Always great!They stocked the lawn care product I had a hard time finding and about 10,000 other items. Very good range of products, fair pricing and well staffed. Just like the old home town hardware shop I remember as a child.

The people at Earls are dedicated to customer service. its not so big that you cant go to several departments without being exhausted, and its in my neighborhood. Im thrilled to have Earls hardware around. It feels like all times when I walk in there.

Great place helpful employees they almost always have what you need and if you need something out of the ordinary or obscure they usually have it.

I went in for one thing and found it quickly, so cant say much about the items they carry, but the store was very clean and appeared well organized. There were plenty of employees there and all of them were friendly - like they actually enjoyed being there - and helpful. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again!

Yes, there are things you cant find at Walmart. Theyre here. And you should support local businesses anyway. Most of the time the prices are close, but on items where True Values prices are much higher, its because theyre selling an American-made product with a real warranty and support. Ive definitely had better luck with their seeds too. Some basic things like straw cleaner brushes are missing at both True Value and Walmart, but this True Value is a bit bigger and better-priced than the King George one so they do have somewhat more stuff. Employees who dont hate their lives will help you find it.

I went to Earls true value on courthouse at Cortland and was told that the owner does not allow firearms in his store. That speaks volumes to me.I then road to Earls true value on the north side of the Rappahannock River and nobody said anything to me about my firearm.....I dont know if they didnt see it or if they didnt didnt care but I wont be going to the one at Cortland anymore. I should be able to carry a firearm if I want to cuz I live in MERICA!! TRUMP 45❤️

They have everything I need and even have the supplies for my Traeger grill. The staff has always been helpful when I come in and know exactly where to find whatever I am looking for. Great neighborhood store!!

I love going to Earls the people are falling over themselves trying to help you and the height of professionalism is out standing. No they dont always have what the big box stores have but the people make up the difference. Thank you for all that you do for home town people, I dont care about the rest!

Excellent hardware store with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The depth of stock rivals that of the more well known big box stores. Need that odd fastener or device, they probably have it. They also rent equipment and party supplies. Theres even a genuine US post office in the store. Prices may be slightly higher than other sources but the convenience and service offered makes me want to support this local asset.

Easy to access and always has what i need though not the lowest prices. Even found a couple of small hand sanitizers

Friendly, knowledgeable staff who help think out a project as well as suggest, then locate, the parts. True team work. Also like that singles.not just multipacks are available.

Will never do business here again. Was told by long time employee Vito that I could return my purchase and get my money back no problem if the item was returned unused and sealed in original box. He told me this twice. Of course when I attempted to return the item (3 days later) this was not the case at all. Store manager Kari at first refused to refund my money. She was much more concerned about being able to return the item to her supplier than making sure my experience at her store was a good one. Whatever happened to good old customer satisfaction? She informed me the next day, after getting permission from her supplier, that an exception would be made and eventually refunded my money minus a 5% restocking fee. I have never had so much grief and stress over a return in my life. Ill do my business elsewhere, thank you, like Home Depot or Lowes where my satisfaction has always been a priority.

Earls has been my go to for hardware for many years. Ever since Fredericksburg Hardware closed, I have gone to Earls for their friendly, competent service. So much better than the big box hardware stores. They even have an official US Post office right in the store. They have hardware for older homes that is difficult to find elsewhere. If you havent been you should definitely check them out.

Very clean store. Had everything I needed for my garden/yard work.

Their variety of general goods isnt quite as good as Lowes or Home Depots but they have an excellent selection of fasteners. What I really like about going here is that if you need a little fiddly bit for something or you lost the little fiddly bit to something, you can actually bring that thing in and go down the fastener aisle and try screws or nuts or whatever right out of the drawers until you find exactly what you need, and then you can buy that ONE screw. Its excellent.The staff has also been very helpful with my many weird and crazy projects. They actually recognize me now, its kind of satisfying to be that girl whos always building something strange and oddly specific. One time I asked for a really rare part and they didnt have it, but they told me exactly where I could go for it. Excellent selection of fasteners, and excellent customer service.

They have everything here! From every last nut or screw you can think of to wire, shovels, even pet toys and more! Theres even a post office in the back. Great place!

Very eagerly helpful & knowledgeable floor staff, but cashiers dont seem to smile much. Much smaller than Home Depot or Lowes but somehow you can find just about all the same things, albeit at a slightly more expensive price. Store doubles as a Post Office, which is a bonus.

This place has been here for a pretty long while, and has alot of outdoor supplies to choose from. If you are close you should shoot over there and give a try before you go to Home Depot or Lowes

Visited for the first time, I found everything I needed and they also have a Post Office and I got to mail a letter. Its a One Stop Store, was very impressed.

I was really impressed with their hardware selection. I have been seeking for a very hard to find socket head bolt for quite some time and they had an array of them.

I have visited this store for over 35 years and the selection and service is outstanding.

For us handy types, having a good hardware store nearby can be the make or break point in buying a new house, and so it was when the wife and I bought ours here about 10 years ago. Earls is an excellent hardware store, with a staff that will bend over backwards to try and help you out.

I will drive past a lowes and home depot anyday to come to Earls. I moved to fredricksburg last year and fell in love with this place when I discovered it. Honestly Theres a certain vibe and feeling that comes with shoping at a Family run hardware store that is absent at the corperate chains. Earls is by far the nicest family run hardware store I have ever been too. Its acctually pretty big too and they have had everything Ive ever needed for my Diy projects. As far as the prices are concerned they are extremely competitive. Sure you can get cheaper prices on some things at the lowes, wallmart, and home depot but the shopping experience is so much more relaxed and memorable. Unlike home depot or lowes my Kids actually love going to Earls because they have a kiddie horse ride that only cost a dime and a cool gumball machine. Plus there is train tracks behind its so they get a kick out of watching a passing train. If you havent been here before give it a try you will love it.
