Friendly, attentive salespersons and manager. Not pushy. Asked many questions to narrow down my search. I walked through three of the models on site. All were clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated. This location is the perfect representative of Clayton Homes .

Let me start by saying how great the management team and our sales person Carlton was during the entire process. We started our home buying journey back in Nov 2018. We were unsure what we really wanted in terms of size and the number of rooms and jumped from house to house for a few weeks before Carlton found us exactly what we wanted.The demolition started in January, then with site improvements, septic upgrades, foundation and then the house and completing everything we closed on 5/20/19. I was impressed with how fast everything went once work started, and with all the rain Im pleased to say we are moving in this weekend!The house is absolutely beautiful, with dry wall through out, we didnt want paneling with batten strips. It has a soaker tub and the walk in shower we wanted, with the closet entrance from the master bath, like we have always wanted.Our project included buying land and an early 80s trailer from my grandmother, tearing down that house, leveling the lot, and then placing the new manufactured home, building the porch and deck. They were so helpful and walked us through the entire process every step of the way.Carlton was always eager to answer all my MANY questions, and was always very professional and polite no matter what the issue. He really made it a very personable experience through the entire process.Now for the house, for our area, we were able to get a 4 bedroom 2,000 square foot house with everything we wanted for way below what the prebuilt older houses that were for sale in our area sell for. We were able to customize it by adding a sliding glass door, covered front porch, 10x25 back deck, adding a door on the utility room, you also get to pick all the paint, counter, cabinet and floor finishes as well.I would highly recommend Clayton Homes of Fredericksburg to anyone wanting to purchase a new home.Ask for Carlton!

Talked to Howard Brown and he was more than happy to assist me. I needed a home and land package, told him my budget, he said he would have everything sent in to the bank and get me pre-approved. that was the week before Memorial Day weekend. 2 weeks go bay... thought it was weird that I haven’t heard anything back from the bank. Called him directly, no answer. Left a message for him to call back, another week went by and he never called me back. Finally I called the office and got a nice lady on the phone, told her the status of my application and everything like that. She stopped me in my tracks when I told her my budget. She nicely explained to me that they couldn’t do a land & home package without going well over my budget. I’m 22 years old, purchasing my first home, so I didn’t have an outrageous amount of money for this house. She apologized over and over and didn’t know why Howard would lead me on the way he did. Worst customer service ever dealing with him. Never again. Good thing I wasn’t looking to move in a hurry.

After going to the Charlottesville Clayton homes I was told due to the pandemic they werent doing open houses. I was instructed I had to fill out an application (run my credit) to see how much house I could afford and then a sales consultant would show me those houses upon appointment. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE IN FREDERICKSBURG. I called to make an appointment to come view the homes and ask questions about future preparations we needed to do to get a home. The staff at this location was very friendly and helpful. Also, they DID NOT make me run my credit to view the homes or to ask simple questions. Due to my experience with another clayton homes and how this location is handling the pandemic I give them a 5 star review.

If you are not satisfied with the person you FIRST SPOKE with you are out of luck. You will be given the run around and that person will be the ONLY person you CAN deal with. They WILL LIE to get the sale.

Nice homes on wheels

I am currently working on a contract with them. So far very pleased with everything I was shown. Homes are well priced and are certainly adjustable appliances and over all build. Staff has been very professional and easy to get along with. I have high hopes for my new home.

Purchased a home a little more then a year from someone who purchased from clayton homes, well after getting in found out they never attached the laundry rooms plumbing to the drain, then started to have leaks in my roof, had roofers and insurance inspector out and come to find out that there was no underlayment under the shingles which is against the regulations for installing roofs. I will be contact with your company one way or another. Right now I cant get a number to someone who can help with this situation because every number is to a salesperson on the internet.May just have to have a lawyer get involved.

Very friendly not pushy at all, gave me my space and let me looks at the different styles of homes.

Bought a 2 year old Clayton Modular in 2016. Already needs a new roof. Tar paper and shingles were incorrectly laid. Deck boards coming up. They used ungalvanized nails instead of deck screws. These are just the main issues of which I am aware. Lots of other little issues. Very disappointed.

Great sales people! Carlton, Monroe, Howard, Steve, and Somer. Theyre like family. If your looking for a new home this should be your first stop! Dave is the general manager and Heather his co-manager are great people and know how to get the job done right. Great homes and great prices. Make an appointment during the week or anyone can come by on Saturdays for open house and tour all the homes on the lot. Highly recommend!

We have had the best experience with sales man Howard Brown at the Fredericksburg Va. location. He really raised the bar on customer service! Even though we maybe out of his delivery area he still took the time and answered all of our questions. Beautiful homes and great service you couldnt ask for more.

I am truly impressed by Clayton homes, when I googled and found their site I must say that I was extremely skeptical of this place. I called and we went down for a vist. I thought it was to good to be true, not at all! Everyone is so professional and nice. You dont feel judged whatsoever. The homes are so nice and they are customizable ! I would recommend this Clayton homes to any and everyone! Especially those looking Into renting I would look at this as an option.

No call backs from them that may have led to a sale.If you read his reply, the General manager asked that I call him... Well, I did the very next day.. and yet he didnt return the call LOLI took my business elsewhere.

The quality and value of the homes and the knowledgeable staff, make the entire process of building a new home - Very easy!

In retrospect, I really would not. After a promising initial sales experience with Carlton Brewer, one year later our custom home has sat on their lot for 6 months because they are too backlogged to deliver/install what their sales team promises. The sales team isnt the problem, though. I have had to act as my own Project Manager every step from then to now; and currently am faced with either getting my own builder to install the house on our property - if even viable at this point- or walking away and losing everything.As a customer, the G.M.s ( David Tetzlaff) construction delays, invalid excuses, and disconnects with their sales team ( who are some of the finest people youll ever meet!) arent my problem(s). I wish the G.M. had been more honest from the start about his installation schedule- his installation problems have hurt all parties involved.In violation of DPOR regulations, the G. M. wont provide written contracts that spell out dates, time, contractors to be used for installation, etc . - and thats part of the problem, too. Based on everything thats happened so far, I think I would choose a different home builder where the sales and installation team arent at loggerheads with each other. Or if you *must* buy from them, BYOB-Bring Your Own Builder.8/3/18 updateNow that I have a G.C.to install the house, this crazy GM says I have to buy the house in cash from him,! Our lender cant support that!8/21/2018I have a voided sales agreement now. We lost over 7k between the non-refundable deposit, building/well/septic/septic engineering fees. But the nightmare is hopefully over and we can move on to a more reputable builder. Pix below the house weve now lost..

Friendly but, we spent about a week trying to get info on getting the process moving on some property, along with some Hidden cost on a home as I call it. Everytime you call its a different story and they just want to beat around bush about the hidden cost. ended up going to Ashland clayton and spent about 4 hours there and everything we waited a week for, and all the cost issues here ( Fburg ) was all wrapped up with a contract on a home and all. Some prices from Fburg were disclosed but a lot was answered with things like, we need a contract first, I could loose my job by telling you and some others.
