Mission Hills is a well run professional jewelry store. My family purchased an Ayad watch for a gift for me. The design of the watch is very unique compared with other watches I have. Mission Hills listened to the familys request to find a watch that was colorful and out of the ordinary. I love the personalized attention that I receive when I have needed to call about the watch. This family owned business truly cares about attention to detail in both their products and their customer service.

I recently moved to the area and needed a trustworthy jeweler to replace the battery on my Cartier watch. I read his google reviews, and decided to trust him since he has a reputation for knowing watches. I dropped off my watch and came back just expecting a new battery. OMG!!! Nader polished and cleaned the watch so it looked brand new. He definitely went above and beyond. Hes very reasonably priced, and I trust his work. He looked at my engagement ring and knew exactly how much it cost. This man knows his stuff. Please go to him for any jewelry or watch repairs. Ill definitely be back.

I brought my girlfriends Omega watch here to get it fixed and have the battery replaced. She had gone to a jewelry repair in the mall and they had changed the battery. What Nader at Mission Hills taught me was that if the repair person touches the battery it drains most of the battery. Also, because he watch was missing the clasp that holds it in place, the other shop person had probably used his finger while he taped it in.This effectively finished draining the battery. The shop in the mall had then suggested the reason the the watch wasnt working properly was because it needed a cleaning. I told her not to go back there and thankfully we came to see Nader at Mission Hills Jewelry.Nader goes through a 10 step process (which he educated me about - none of which I will remember) in simply changing the battery. I also learned he does forensic work for the court system. He is our go to guy for jewelry repair going forward. Its important to go to someone trustworthy especially when you dont know whats going on inside the watch. Otherwise the shop can just end up charging you more money and you believe them. Thank you for your work Nader.

Went to Mission Hills for a ring to be sized as well as a modification. Got it back and it is beautiful! Despite the modification, the ring looks brand new and better than ever. Very fast work as well. 1-day turnaround. I will definitely be going back.

Nader was able to overcome my husbands initial resistance. The Hubs wanted an expandable band to replace the band with a loose clasp. Nader offered to tighten the clasp. The Hubs wasnt having it. Nader took step back, offered water and said he was here to make the Hubs happy.Nader did. He tightened the clasp right then and there and even resized and polished one of the Hubs rings. We will be back!!!

I walked into Mission Hills Jewelry for the first time about 5 years ago to have my wifes Movado watch repaired and have been going back ever since. Nader is kind of a throwback in that he is gemologist, can have any watch repaired and makes his own jewelry. I highly recommend stopping by his store first for whatever your needs are.I have had watches repaired, jewelry made and it is always a pleasure going in to talk with him. If he does not have what you are looking for, he can also make it!

I went to Mission Hills to get my batteries changed on my old watch. Nadar was kind enough to remove the scratches and polished my watch at no additional cost. Really nice guy and has a great sense of humor. I highly recommend his services.

We have been buying jewelry exclusively from Nadar for the past 10 years. The experience is always pleasant and educational as he takes the time to find out what you really are looking for. The customer service and maintenance after the sale is excellent. I am always offered cleaning and polishing of my jewelry whenever I am there. I would highly recommend Mission Hills Gallery.

For supposedly being in the business for over 30 years, the owner had a very difficult time determining what Art Deco style is; him having to refer to a book. He was very disrespectful to my wife as he only addressed me, even though our intended purchase was for my wife and she was the one asking him the questions. To top-off our poor experience, he treated us with an attitude that we could not afford certain types of jewelry and that we needed to be better informed of what we wanted before purchasing. This experience left a very bad taste in my mouth and I will NOT be back, nor would I recommend to anyone else.

I called in to see if I could get help with a dead watch battery, they said I could come in and they could fix it on the spot. I went after class and had a brief conversation with the owner, during which he fixed the watch. I will be returning to fix another watch soon, mostly due to the excellent and speedy service, bit also because the owner was friendly and I am glad to bring my business to this location.

I prefer to frequent local businesses like Mission Hills Gallery Fine Jewelers instead of mass merchandisers because they generally are devoted to our patronage and the community and for my three visits I give this business 5 stars and highly recommend this establishment. If I was on the street and saw Qawi Harvard with that confrontational look on his face walking my way I would be concerned for my safety no matter the color of his skin. Therefore, please take all reviews, including mine, with several grains of salt.

The man discriminated. I walked in to sell my silver ring. Without even looking at what Im trying to sell and/or asking how he can help me. He said we dont buy back anything i said your ad said otherwise he said oh i havent bought anything this month when i just was recommend to this place by my friend (who happens to a white female) who sold and bought something from this jeweler less then 2 weeks ago.

Sat outside the shop for five minutes waiting for him to open the door. He only opened the door when someone white came behind us. Then he asked to take the white guy first because he wanted to take his money (in other words... he was paying). We obliged because we didnt want to seem over sensitive. Once he was done, he couldnt tell us how much an appraisal was until after taking a long look at the ring. Once he said $150, and that it didnt include a report... we took our money else where.

Do NOT recommend. Rude owner, terrible service. This store/owner only cares about selling pieces at arbitrary made up prices and leaving tons of margins, so if you are going to repair anything, forget it. The owner is not making any money from you and treat you like a nuisance. He thinks he is doing some volunteering service.I went in to get a bracelet shortened (a basic chain bracelet), the owner quoted $15 and when I asked if it can be shortened from both sides of the bracelet instead of just one side (for it to be even), he quoted $30. I didnt want to pay any more than $15 (I was expecting about $10 for this small process), so I declined. He said he is not making any money from this (okay, sorry that I am not buying jewelry from you in which you are making a ton of margins) and that he just want people to be happy and that he would shorten from both sides for $20. I said no, I just want it to be shortened for $15, and he said this is a really good price, but you dont know that along with I am not making any money here.. I have to use gold to do this..He didnt make me feel like a customer, and I could see that he had anything but respect for me because I only wanted a service from which he is not making any money from. Uhm, I was quoted $15 for the job. He is making $15.Once I came back to pick it up, I took out my credit card to pay. I even thanked him for being able to shorten the bracelet in a day. I was being the best patron I could be. I didnt haggle about the price, I didnt express a single complaint. Once seeing my card, the owner then goes, Oh the minimum is $20. When I asked him Do you need me to go get cash? He replied, I didnt tell you up front. So its okay as if he is doing some sort of huge favor for me.I wont ever visit this jewelry store, and I advise any of you to go to others. Or shop online, like from Blue Nile. Thats where I got my Moms bracelet from. Because this store/owner only cares about selling pieces at arbitrary made-up prices and leaving tons of margins, so if you are going to repair anything, forget it. The owner is not making any money from you and treat you like a nuisance. He thinks he is doing some volunteering service.

Mission Hills Gallery provides exceptional customer service. I purchased an Ayad brand watch in 2010. Unfortunately, I tripped and the clasp got caught on the carpet, causing the clasp hinge to break. I live in the Midwest and tried to get my watch repaired locally, but the local stores did not have suppliers that provided a similar high quality metal as used for my Ayad brand watch. So I called Mission Hills Gallery for help. They explained how to package the watch and send it to California through Priority Mail. I had my watch back in the Midwest within a week, along with a personal note from Nader explaining the replacement of the watch clasp.

If youre a woman and hope to shop here, good luck. My husband and I stopped in looking for estate pieces and we were regarded as undeserving of his services or estate pieces. He didnt know what Art Deco style rings were and had to refer to a book. Even though I was the one asking all the questions and had in mind a type of ring I wanted (not pave!) he refused to address me and instead referred to my husband the whole time (although I was the one asking the questions). I asked him to clarify a definition he used to describe one French piece he had, and he acted as if we were asking for the moon set alongside the Hope Diamond. He was also condescending towards what he thought we could afford, pointing out that this ring he wouldnt even show us, was beyond what we could/would spend. Unimpressed with what he had to offer, I politely thanked him and walked out. Needless to say, we will not be giving him our business.

Bought my first ring here and it is something awesome, really glad I stumbled upon this shop I was given a great deal and my sapphire ring was personally hand made by Nader and he gave me a $1,000+ ring for only $500 because he melted his old gold to use for my ring. Ill be going back if I ever need anything else!

I came in to resize my rose/pink gold pave ring and Nadar gave me a super fair price and a quick turnaround! I came in at 5 PM on a Friday and he was willing to have it ready by 6PM that same day (yes in an hour!). When I picked up my ring, I cant even tell where he made the change. Its so seamless and perfect! Thanks Nadar!

I have taken my watch twice to MHJ, once to size the band and once recently to change the battery. Mr. Ayad and his store has an old world charm and good attention to customer service, something sorely missing these days. He not only replaced the battery but also polished it promptly and at a reasonable price. More importantly, he was honest about what kind of service a watch needs that I really appreciated. Mr Ayad has been running this store for a number of years now and would like to see such small businesses thrive, so MHJ will certainly have my patronage in future.
