Great and convenient store. Only issue Is a policy of only paying cash if you spend less that 10 bucks. I thought it was weird. Overall great experience
You can find everything you need from Africa but it needs some windows and fresh air circulation. All the smell of smoked fish, smoked meat is very strong! For some reason once you open the door it violates your nostrils! 😂! But customer services is very friendly and cool. They know where every products are. Sometimes i get charged taxes sometimes i dont. Very spacious parking too.
Very good attention is. A. Good store nice People 👍
Its a small simple market, in a very small shopping center. But it had a nice variety of the seasonings I was looking for, so successful trip!
The one store you get whatever you are missing from home (Africa). You all keep up the good work.
Decent store. Organized and relatively clean. Prices are on the high side. Overall good
Could do with better customer services in the meat section. I asked for the source of the meat and got a rude answer. I bought some meat though but the quality was a bit disappointing. Other products we Ok though
The space in the store is restricting, not enough room for people to move around in the aisles. However, I like the fact that a person can find food items that cannot be found in a regular supermarket.
Bought bread there, very costly but fresh. Store was clean, employees was nice.
Africain and caraïbes grocery store, if you are from Africa or the Caraïbes and you want to get some foods that you only get from those specif part of the world go to this store.
Aisles are too narrow for two shopping carts to pass by
Ive been coming here for years with no complaints.I bought chicken and Turkey from them on Saturday September 12th.Tried to cook it on Monday the 14th and they had both gone bad and were slimy.Went back to get a refund and the owner said they only sold fresh meat....even though my items had gone bad.Buyer beware!
I really used to like this place for all of the African staples they carried and the friendliness. However, I saw roaches inside of clear wrapped packages and on the shelving. The owner yelled at me and his employee for taking too long when I needed help.I dont know what happened over the last few years but the location is profitable for them and they take full advantage with their high prices.
The customer service needs can be improved.
I visited the store for the first time and bought smoked turkey which I discovered was spoilt after getting home. I took it back to the store the following day and showed it to the manager. At this time, the turkey had started to smell rotten despite the fact that I had put it in the oven to further dry. The manager gave several excuses, neither of which addressed the fact that he had sold spoiled poultry but instead said I was mistaken when the evidence of rotten turkey was right in front of him. Obviously, Im never going back there to buy anything and Im seriously considering filing a report with the USDA.
Great African groceries and moderate prices and good customer services.
This place is ok to shop for African food items. But the smell is too bad in here. They should keep the door open during business hours for some ventilation. Not to mention the smell stay on your clothes even after you leave the store.. there is another African store behind the salvation army in Gaithersburg. Make a right turn by the salvation army up the hill then make a left then the second right. The new African store is right there. Cheaper than this one..
A variety of african and beyond foods! The service is good but it can be cleaner !!
Go to for most African goods and fresh meat. Prices could be a bit better though.
Good service, good social distancing and sanitation.
A perfect place for shopping and eat out
Friendly neighborhood African store. You can find almost all your African ingredients here. The staff is also very helpful.
Theres too much delay in the meat department.
A lot of groceries to purchase if you need some African and Caribbean food items and more..
Good,You can find all African food produce there just as it says
They are seriously price gauging. They have doubled the price on most items
Its a really nice place to shop.
Very clean, the aisles and prices are clearly marked and I havent noticed any expired items. They are usually quick on the cash register and will open additional lines if needed. However, the meat counter is not as efficient and your best bet is to place your order by phone at least 1 hr before you get there. Also, the shopping carts are the small ones to help go tru the aisles, but u cant put any kids in them.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Dont spend your money here. I went there for the first time and the market smells horrible. Prices are also unreasonably high. I went there for the first time and the manager argued with me about the price of a wash sponge! An employee tagged the wrong price on an item and they expected me to pay a different price due to their mistake. Horrible place. The International Warehouse is a better place. I dont suggest anyone shop here.
This place always put me in the mood of being in my hometown for I always find all my food that I was eating in africa. Good shopping place
Great assortment of products. Customer service can get better . . .
This is where I get my Garcinia nuts, aka bitta kola. Best value all around for African good grocery shopping!
Relatively cheap and affordable for low income people and visitors, maintain a good room service on daily bases. Host most migrants that can afford it cheap reservation.
Good place to do African groceries. Fresh meats, fish etc...so lovely. Moreover, their Saturday live band music at the Palace adjacent savanna....cant miss it
Nice African joint. Will go there again. Love it.
Savanna market is the best when it comes to African stuffs. Like their smoked turkey and fresh tilapia so much
Great
Friendly and courteous staff. The place could use some cleaning and maintainence. Especially the butchery area.
Everything is good but tell the manager to let people who want to do evangelism for God in front of his store
Nice grocery store
Nice and friendly people
Cashiers need to be a little faster
Good customer service
A bit pricey, but well worth it for African food.
Good African store
Good for African food. Large selection. Open on Sundays for after church shopping.
This store has all the international food I need for reasonable prices. The staffs are also very helpful
Not friendly, poor customer service, and nationalistic zealots
Serving Germantown,Gaithersburg and surrounding areas, Savanna caters for the African and Caribbean populace. Goods from Africa can be found here keeping customers connected to home.
Customer Friendly & Excellent service
Pretty tight for space. However they have lost of foodstuff primarily from West Africa
Good prices. Great variety of African food.
The customer service is extremely poor. They refused to give credit on defected product and its taking them almost a month to process my refund of which I still have not received. Shame. I hope they correct this issue soon. Some associates on the back end are friendly.
They have African foods but its too expensive and they should allow people to preach the gospel and not send them away
Disappointing. Did not have anything I wanted or needed
Lot of goods
A little had to fine. However they have lots of things at a good price
A good store for buying West African food stuff with moderate prices.
Good African supermarket, all that you want from Africa can be found there.
Very good service, just love it :)
Perfect store if youre looking for West African food
African foods, African seasonings and an amazing home feel
Good customer relation and I usually get whatever I want.
Line are lond and cashier are too slow.i also think they should have a female cashier.its also need some cleaning.
Good African store. Love it
Not bad at all
Horrible Ghanaian store with foolish sales representatives..Their restaurant is equally dirty with tasteless foods.
African food market! They have it all. If you miss home(Africa) visit this spot and get ur essentials
Access to African food ingredients eg vegetables, dry food, palm oil, beans, milo, goat meat, beef, lamb etc
I liked the place but the need employees that can help English speaking people! !
Bought some spices and fresh meat.
Great place to buy African groceries
This is my go to African store for my traditional cooking needs. We dont have too many in the area to compare it to price wise, but I think they are reasonable.
Great place that serves our international community.
Savanna international variety of African grocery. Whenever I missed a particular, I go to Savanna to gather the recipes.
Nice place and has lots of varieties.
Great international option of food to choose from.
Well stocked, and fresh produce and no expired stuff
I feel like home there.
You will most likely find what you need but service is terrible.
Here you find all African diversity and cultural food!!
Great place for international food supplies
Good but available seat at the ride on stop
They have good options for ethnic ingredients. The only down side is the prices are a bit in the high side.
Too small and crowded. Service is slow.
The boss never have good attitude towards customer bit the wife is very friendly
Is ok but a little on the expensive side.
Great African grocery store.
Great place to buy Africa food
They need a lot of improvements their. I think it is just way too small for all the things they have in there but I do find what I need sometimes not really good quality of food but I get by
