Beautiful and authentic art and treasures. You must ask to view the rugs and paintings which is either for security or COVID health reasons. But be on alert. You will be watched and followed so closely by one woman that it’s creepy. She made us feel so uncomfortable that we decided not to buy the jewelry or basket we were considering.
My Cheii got himself a Turquoise hat band at a Great price. Thank You ❤
Awesome place to shop or sell. Highly recommend it
Very nice Trading post that carries authentic native jewelry from local artists. Thanks for supporting the artists. Very nice Staff.
Overwhelming, overpriced, and I am not if it was Chinese turquoise or man made, but didnt look real! I own many beautiful pieces with stones from reputable mines.
Lots of hand made items: jewelry, hats and pots!
Fantastic place! Large amount of local native history on display, and understandably not for sale.Very high quality Native American craftsmanship is offered for sale. Definitely not cheap, but you can tell the amount of labor that goes into making each piece. My wife purchased some earrings and a Zuni owl fetish carving... they are gorgeous pieces. The employee that assisted us knew we didnt have a ton of money to spend, so she showed us pieces in our price range. She even took us in the back to show us more of their collection, and explained a great deal of local Hopi, Navajo and Zuni culture and history to my family.Highly recommended, and a must stop if you are in the Gallup area!
Awesome shop! Lots of art, the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Staff as super helpful. Great art work and jewelry. This place takes you back.
What a fantastic historic friendly place!
Stopped in to check this place out. What a great stop it was! Friendly staff! We were not actually looking to buy anything. The window displays were so cool we just had to see what was inside the store. Nora showed us around and provided information about the private collections of western and Native American artifacts. The inventory of rugs is extensive; from used to new. Prices are the best we have seen. Nora’s knowledge about the rugs was priceless. Because of Nora we purchased a rug. She took the time to educate us and give us the history behind the rug. The next day I popped in to pick up a pendant as well. Thank you Nora!
This is a long standing Gallup pillar, great products of all price ranges. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. If you are in the area make sure and stop by even if just to get a good look at the history of Trading Posts near the Navajo Nation.
Stopped here on our way to Santa Fe, wow, what a find. Almost museum-like, unbelievable selection of authentic jewelry, rugs, kachinas, baskets, etc. We were given a tour to other rooms of wonderful art and collectibles. This is the real deal! And the pricing is very good, items sold below tagged price. Purchased a Buffalo Dancer, beautiful piece. You wont be disappointed.
Absolutely loved this shop, wonderful help and good deals on jewelry. We bought a lot and wish we had purchased more as we live so far away.....really a wonderful experience!
If you want Nice jewelry go to RICHARDSON TRADING CO.
Beautiful products
Great selection, but no one in the place is friendly at all! Do yourself a favor & keep looking. I found my exact ring for 70$ less.
Beautiful rugs and jewelry. Nora was very nice and helpful.
They were unhelpful when we were asking for a certain artist and they were also pretty rude even the boss, it felt as if they dont want any business, but the good thing is that theyre jewelery is nice but its expensive, theyre was one young girl who finally helped us, she was helpful answered all our questions. The lady who first helped us was just back talking us and didnt really help us even thought theyre supposed to be selling us jewelery and making us feel comfortable.
If you want genuine, and not just made for tourists, indian jewelry and rugs, there is no better place than Richardsons. They have a HUGE selection of vintage jewelry and rugs unmatched anywhere else. My wife and I have visited over a dozen times over the years and there is no other place quite like it. There are hundreds of places in the area you can by cheap new jewelry but this is THE place if you want the real vintage stuff.
Unique Native American Jewelry, Rugs, paintings, Dolls all Native American Art craft. Silver and Turquoise its gorgeous, great price, the Best customer service in Town. Nora Asist us patient explain us to buy the perfect gift. They were wearing Navajo Regalia; all traditional . Beautifull .Always great experience.
I have purchased several rugs and jewelry items from Richardsons over the past few years. The people I have dealt with have been very helpful and friendly. As for prices, good Navajo rugs have always been expensive. At Richardsons, you are dealing with high-quality items at a fair price.
These guys pawn guns and give you the option of paying interest over the phone. Very friendly people and helpful.
All Indian goods being sold by Iranians. Clerks were friendly. The store showed windows in the outside with interesting art and wares but no access to it on the inside, kind of disappointing
Didn’t find anything I needed and the bracelet that interested me was $6,000! At least, I guess I have good taste. All the people were very friendly.
Stopped there on our way back to Vegas and had a wonderful experience with them. When I bought my squash blossom necklace there they were patient and curteous. I must have tried on 20 necklaces. They taught me something about each piece I tried on. I was sad when two years later I lost a small stone from the necklace. When I called them, Larry had me send it back for repairs. Two weeks later I had the necklace back good as new and no charge! There is still such a thing as customer service and standing behind your product at Richadson Trading Co.
They have a picture of my grandfather hung near the door that I like to go see when I go back to the area. It is full of very nice native jewelry.
Old Native American silver and turquoise jewelry. All handmade by surrounding Native Artisans.
Because every time I come in there to buy something, theres always a gaggle of women dressed in crazy hats and sunglasses that get all the attention. They look like money. I do not. Two months ago I spent $1000, this time $100. Its a Friday on a holiday weekend and you have one sales person thats walking around saying shes busy while some gentleman from the back room is trying to help me and doesnt know how to work the credit card machine. I waited 20 minutes to be helped. I have roots in Gallup and this isnt the the second time Ive been in there. Im not expecting red carpet service, but an acknowledgement would be appreciated.
Its hard to emphasize how much better Richardsons is than most any other Southwest trading company. Partly thats because of the sheer variety and quality of the merchandise. But its also due to the fact that Richardsons continues to serve its traditional customers, not just tourists. In any case, if youre interested in Native American goods or Western memorabilia, Richardsons is a must-see.
I never shop anywhere else. Its just an amazing place!
Amazing selection of Indian jewelry and wide range of prices so easy to find something that fits within your pocketbook.
Quiet and cool place to look around
Employees are really friendly and they are nice they greet you and they all have nice jewelries
Wonderful selection. Good service. Authentic Native American. Youre bound to find something you cant live without!
Fun to look at everything, but this is clearly a tourist trap. Everything was 60% off... and still outrageously overpriced. It is worth stopping in to look, just dont expect a good deal.
There so kind,, thank you for singing me a birthday song 💓
Really amazing and was great to learn about the history and background from the local staff
Awesome friendly business...Always appreciate their pawn business...
My wife an I went to Richardson’s Trading Post in Gallup New Mexico. They have the largest selection of rugs in the Southwest on display.Richardson’s has a very large rug room they have over 3000 rugs stock they also discount the rugs during the Crown point rug auction weekend.Theey also have a large supply of dental of Dead Pawn Navajo Jewelry and Rugs.We bought one of them a Dead Pawn Two Gray Hills rug for $600 in a Kachina doll you can see the photo
