I went into this carquest to buy butt splices, 2 switches, electrical tape and a contact sealer. When I told the counter man that I am a platinum commercial customer at aap/cq, he rudely replied, we are independent from corporate but well treat you right on price He then proceeded to charge me full price on everything which was $44. I told him this should only be around 20 for me and 32-33 for retail. He said best i can do so I dropped the switches and the price came down to $25.I ended up buying everything else at oreillys to save some money. The only thing I used from carquest was the butt splices( outrageously priced at $14), so I proceeded to return the tape and . He looked at the brand new electrical tape (which was almost $6 usually $2) and scoffed, thats half used. I picked another one up and showed him the clean cut from the manufacturer and how both rolls were the same size. only then did he return it. I am a commercial customer at advance and carquest meaning I own a shop(mobile mechanic). I have always gone to advance and carquest and will continue to, but I will not go to this one. They are rip offs and show no care for the customer. Galveston needs a real advance auto, not this scroungy independent carquest. I do not recommend this location.
