This shop is great to say the least! My father and I came in for an issue regarding our transmission in a 15’ suburban. The staff got the issue resolved and had the truck up and running in reasonable time. Extremely competitive prices, awesome experience !

I was very impressed with the service from A1 quality. Chuck the manager is very an amazing person and extremely nice. He was very patient with my boyfriend and I on our auto repairs. He allowed us to store our car for months at no cost. This was all before we could even come up with payment options to tackle our bill. A1 Quality offers various payment plans for their customers and are very understanding set of gentlemen. I am truly thankful for their business, and I highly recommend their service.

My car stopped suddenly and I was besides myself. Im not from Michigan and all my family lives over seas. I know nothing about cars but A1 Quality Auto Repair & Transmission reassured me that they would take care of me.As a college student my budget is basically limited to Ramen and popcorn, Al was in constant communication with me throughout the entire process and assisted me with payment options that are more affordable to my budget.I commute not only to school but back and forth out of town. I dont know what I would do without my car, its basically my life. Very great customer service from AL. I received a very thorough explanation of the issues with my truck. I dont get the rip off vibe from the shop. Most shops just wanna get you in and out and add on extra charges. I would definitely continue doing business with this shop.

I went to a1 because I thought I had a transmission problem it turned out it was my engine according to the technicians there was no compression in two of my piston holes they replaced my motor a thousand dollars cheaper than any quote I got! And a really good warranty on it also 3 years 36000 miles they told me it was going to take about a week when they called me and told me it was finished after 3 days I was floored! And I HAD MY DOUBTS but after picking my car up and driving it a drives perfect thank you Al and your team

My husband and I first visit was pleasant, Al was very kind and great customer service. Chuck the owner was nice until we had an concern. Transmission was fixed and once the computer in my car was reprogrammed my dashboard stopped working. Al told us it wasn’t working when we brought the car in. Totally not true seeing how they had to use the dashboard to view mileage on car.. Chuck and Al told my husband and I if we took our car to dealer and showed proof it needed reprogrammed they would refund us the fee we paid. Our course we did, Chevy dealership reprogrammed computer and now working again. They have avoided our calls for our refund and have been very rude to us even after proving as asked they were wrong and at fault.. Once they get your money, they are done with you..

I definitely recommend this facility. My transmission and my drive shaft was repaired here and I was kept in the loop about the repairs during the entire process. Dont take your car in. Id give no stars of possible.. Husband took car in for minor repairs. Had then fished the issue 3x and now we cant drive over 40. Car was in great working order until they fixed the pump in the trans. Nothing but issues. Husband is in military and was unable to go to drill. Which causes issues for him Will definitely post more reviews and it tgeis place and reporting to the Better Business. Do not take your car here if u want it fixed right.

A-1 Quality Auto is a great shop. Al was so friendly and worked with me to get my car fixed quickly and at a great price. He actually seemed to care and I felt like I was being taken care of not taken advantage of.

Thankful for this shop. They took care of my not so commen 4x4. Brought the transmission back to like new. Made sure it was done right and kept my mind at ease the whole time.

I’ve had a great experience with this repair shop. There was an unreal amount of communication all the way thru my cars process. Al the manager is a stand up guy, Troy the mechanic did an amazing job with the repair. I’ve been screwed over in the past on my visits to random shops over priced, lied to, fixed things on my car that wasn’t even needed or necessary. I highly advise if your feeling pressured an your just basically unsure about what to do or direction to take go to A1 auto in gardencity Michigan. I will definitely be visiting this repair shop for every serious repair I or my girlfriend has. All around great service

Brakes went out about a mile away from A1. Made it in to see Al and instantly felt like this was my new shop. He took my SUV before every other and got it in to be looked at. Not only was he gracious enough to check out my truck but he also gave me a ride home, and offered to pick me up once the work is done.

The reverse in my car went out and I had it looked at here, they evaluated my car for free and told me everything about it. It was for sure my transmission. I waited a few weeks and decided to get my transmission rebuilt. They helped me so much and I can’t thank them enough! Thank you A1 & the manager Al!

If I could give this place less than one star I would. In March I purchased a used car but it needed some work done to it on the trans. I brought my car up there for a repair for $625 for a small leak. I dropped it off on a Monday. They told me they would diagnose it again on Tuesday and call me if anything changes from what the original issue was and that it would definitely be ready that following friday. Come that Friday, I called prior to getting off of work and they told me they were working it which I thought was off because theyve had it a while week basically but they told me it would be ready once i got off of work. When i got off of work as Im driving to the bank to withdraw the rest of the money for the repair, the guy who works at the desk called me and told that the builder discovered that the leak was coming from inside the transmission and that they would have to take apart the transmission in order to fix it and that it was going to cost $1400. Of course I was furious but I wasnt sure if they were lying or not. I explained to them that I have no money and that Ive already fallen on hard times just to pay for the original repair. The guy then told me that I could proceed with the original repair and my trans will still go out or I could have them fix it and apply what Ive already paid to the $1400. I told him that I wasnt sure singe said to call him on Monday and let him know what I want to do. As I thought about the whole situation over the weekend, I felt like they were trying to get over on me because I was young and wasnt mechanically inclined. So I decided that I wouldnt proceed with none of the repairs and take my car to another transmission shop to get a second opinion. I called first thing Monday morning as soon as they opened and told them not to do anything to my car and that i was going to go up there to get my car and my money and he told me that his workers stayed over Friday night and begun the transmission repair which I did agree to and that if I wanted my car I would have to not only pay for the original repair but the labor to put the transmission back in. I nearly lost my s**t after he told me that because I did not agree to any repairs. So I was stuck with having to pay for the transmission repair. After two months and $1400 later they fixed my transmission and informed me that my front hub was failing which was totally fine before I brought it there and I only had the car for three days before I had to put it in the shop and that they would fix it for $275. When I finally got my car, it had began overheating which I assumed was from low coolant, so I added two gallons of coolant but it was still overheating and my fan under my hood would stay in for long periods of times when I turned my car off so I figured it was because of my front hub that was failing. So I took it to another shop because there was no way in hell I was going back to those scam artists. The mechanic only charged me $190 to replace my front hub and informed me that the hose that was suppose to be connected to my coolant tank was attack to some random part on my cat meaning there was coolant just leaking all on my engine and every where else under my hood which explains why my car was overheating. The mechanic just connected it back and assumes it was a mistake but I know for a fact that was done on purpose to cause more damage to my car so that I would bring it back to them and then they would probably damage something else and the part that upsets me the most was that this was the same day I went back to that shop for a two week check up my transmission repair so that my warranty wouldnt expire and they didnt even tell me about it because the mechanic at the other shop said he they shouldve noticed it because of how bad it was leaking. PLEASE DO NOT go here. I would hate for someone to go through the same thing I went through with them.👎👎👎👎

I did not know what to exactly expect when I first entered the door & stated my concerns with my vehicle. 2004 JEEP LIBERTY Sometimes, when I move my gear into drive & reverse, my vehicle would not always move upon acceleration. The Manager Al, was very kind & made me feel very welcome. He patiently listened to my concerns & inspected my vehicle on the spot. I was low on transmission fluid & he had his team of Mechanics take care of it immediately (filled the vehicle with transmission fluid). I also needed additional repairs, parts, brake rotors (rear) pads, valve cover gaskits, transmission pan, oil filter, brake hose/lines, calipers. The cost of the repairs were reasonably priced but after added it all up, it was expensive to have all the repairs fixed at one time. Al offered me financing options & I was approved. The financing options were great, it is well worth your time to try financing if you do not have a lump sum of money to immediately pay for repairs!When I checked in my vehicle, the service was great! Al gave me a ride home & in less than 48 hours my vehicle repairs were fixed. I waited a few days before writing this review. I test drove my vehicle for several days & it runs & drive EXCELLENT! Just about the same as when I first purchased it in the year 2011. Al was very good following up & communicating with me every step of the way, diagnosis, cost, financing options & repair time. The whole process went very smooth now my vehicle is up & running in VERY GOOD OONDITION! I am a Very Satisfied Customer & I would highly recommend you try this auto repair shop for your vehicle repair needs!

Shady place to go to!!!!My boyfriends transmission blew on his truck and it is our only vehicle we have. They fixed it after 2 weeks, Jerry told us to bring it back for a check up so he can sign the warranty paperwork he told us that he dont feel comfortable to sign it yet so he had it for about 2 months counting the 2 weeks fixing the trans. They kept telling us something was wrong here and they had to wait for the parts. Excuse after excuse. So we called him everyday for a check up because we have had it we needed it back. Now when my boyfriend talked to Jerry he seemed to give him more info and treat him better, now when I called Jerry the next day I asked for an update he told me he already filled in my boyfriend with the update. He told my boyfriend they were putting the transmission in one day and then the next day Jerry told me they were putting it in that day, his stories werent straight all together. Dont ever take your vehicle there!

Rip off- be aware! Bought a transmission for over 1000$ from our business and provided a bad check with no sufficient amount. We tried to collect our money for over two months and they keep lying and giving all kind of excuses. Lies only is what u get from them! OMG there the best I have a 2007 Buick lacrosse I’ve had my car for over five years it’s in perfect condition I just payed my last car note on it now I own it last Friday my transmission went out I called about 10 shops they all were telling me $1900 So I happened to google transmission shops in Garden city an A1 transmission popped up so I called I spoke with Al I asked him how much would it be for a Transmission job he tells me thats not a cheap job Miss Anderson i said I know I said how much would you charge to do he said about 1700 that’s about the right price for a transmission job he said but I have another option for you have you ever heard of financing I said I can finance a transmission he said sure so he text me the link I went and applied and I got approved for $1655 isn’t God good they really helped me out because I didn’t have that kind of money at all please check them out they are the best thanks A1 transmission

This place is awful. The first time we took our car here he said it would be fixed we had to call him everyday for 3 weeks til we finally got it back. Then less then a week we had to take it back and they said everything was fine. Then about 2 months later we had to take it back and it shouldnt have taken him 2 weeks to fix everytime we would call they always said they havent found the problem yet. This morning the lights came on again and this time i took the car to be tested and of course same issue. We are tired of this. I think we might look into getting a lawyer.

This shop is completely terrible!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THEM!!! They will completely ruin your vehicle. My vehicle was initially sent to them in September for an engine repair. Didnt inform me that my transmission was bad until December. I approved them doing the work because everything was under my warranty. Got the car back in January of this year. BTW,when i got the car back there was damage done to my vehicle to the point where the hood doesnt close like it used to and there is metal bent and paint chipped where the engine and trans is held. drove the car for about a week and a half and then heard a grinding noise so I sent the car back thinking it was something wrong with the engine. Sent the car back and Im told that the transfer case exploded. Again they worked on the car and because I thought it had something to do with the transmission I approved the work. They kept the car for a month after they told me it would be completed after a week tops. Got the car back in February, drove the car for 3 weeks and the engine and trans both go out at the same time. Called the warranty company to see if I could take the car elsewhere and was told that because they already paid for the repair that I would have to take the car back to the shop that worked on the car.I definitely didnt want to take the car back to them because they didnt fix the issue and caused additional damage to my vehicle. Unfortunately I had no option but to send the car back to them. They received the vehicle on the 26th of March I just went to go pick up my vehicle on Friday 7/14/2017. I get to the lot and my boyfriend goes to start the car and its still knocking, after being told that the engine was rebuilt and the reason it took so long was because its hard to find parts for my vehicle and the builder was behind on projects and they cant dictate what goes on at the builders shop. We go inside to ask what is going to be done and we are told by Jerry that because the parts failed due to neglect that he was initially going to void the warranty. Clamed that from the time the vehicle was picked up in February and was brought back that it had 2,000 miles on the motor!!! How when I only drove the car for 3 weeks after the second repair? When I purchased the vehicle in February 2016 I had 135,000 miles on the car... When they gave the car back this time it had 144,794 miles on the car. When I gave them the vehicle initially in September of 2016 I only put 700 miles on the car. Someone tell me how 2,000 miles was put on the car in 3 weeks let alone 9,036 miles. I REFUSED ANY MORE OF THERE SERVICES AND TOOK MY CAR. AFTER LOOKING AT THE RECEIPT IT SAID THAT THE ENGINGE WAS EXCHANGED AND NOT REBUILT. JERRY COULDNT OR WOULDNT TELL US WHERE THE ENGINE WAS SENT TO BE CHECKED AND STATED THAT BECUASE I WASNT PAYING FOR ANYTHING THAT HE DIDNT HAVE TO LIST WHAT HE DID???? Not to mention I purchased a brand new battery for my vehicle in March before it went back to them and when I got the car home my car died. I go to jump it and guess what my brand new battery is gone. My $200.00 battery is gone and replaced with a used junk yard battery. Please whatever you do, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THEM!! SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND THE HEADACHE.They had my car for 10 months and put me in even more of a difficult situation because now I cant use my warranty for the repairs and I have to fix what they damaged and stole.

I took my F150 to a1Transmission to have a tuneup done On my truckI new my transmission was slipping a little bit.I didn’t have the money to fix everything . I was surprised to find out that I got financed through there is 0% program .thank you Al . I would recommend this place If you have car trouble of any kind.

If you want a good screwing take your car to this place, took my daughters 2005 freestyle to get estimate on trans work, told me its going to be 2800.00 dollars for a rebuilt trans, I said thats to much to put into that car this was on a Friday so I was going up north I said can I pick up my daughters car Tuesday when I get back they said OK when I called them Tuesday morning early to let them know I was going to pick up the vehicle the heavier set guy Jim said I have a bad news for you I said whats the problem they said somebody hit your car in the alley I said what was my car doing in the alley they said one of the trucks next-door hit it so when I went to look at the vehicle the car was hit on the left The alley is on the right and mind you the car is pulled forward make a long story short you can tell where their flatbed truck backed up into my daughters car smashed the whole backend and busted out the window about $4000 worth of damage, then they said we didnt see anything we didnt hear anything we dont know nothing about it sorry about that the other guy that sits behind Jim dont know his name sits the desk behind Jim couldnt even look at me because he knew he was telling a flat out lie, I am 51 years old its the worst experience I ever had with a car in my lifetime due to these crooks and mind you the rate across the street from Garden City police station on Middlebelt Road stay clear of them

They will always tell you it will be done today but never call you on progress. You have to call to get an answer. Car is always left on E. These people are shady. I wish I could go somewhere else but Im stuck with them for two years. Please dont go here.
