Neptunes is a perfect example of a great small business, needed some equipment that I couldnt fine anywhere else and they were well stocked and to top it off very friendly and informative. Im guilty of this but before you go and use Amazon or other online services pay a visit to your local camera store, Neptunes is definitely a great spot, thanks for the help!

Came in today to get an EF- RF adapter that was difficult to find. They were extremely helpful and sold the item at a fair price. Always good to support your local businesses. Also saw that they carry lots of vintage lenses. Very pleased with service.

Put in my camera body to be repaired and aside from it taking ridiculously long, they completely overcharged me at pickup. Almost $200 more than they originally quoted me - had I been told this price, I would not have repaired the camera body. My hands were tied as I use this body as a backup but this long time customer will NEVER step foot in Neptune Camera again!

I used to get my film developed here but I recently found that they were over charging me for the price of developing a roll. What’s more disappointing is how long they take with developing film. My new location does same day developing for $5 per roll and it’s amazing work. I shouldn’t have to wait so long for my film to be developed if I’m paying more money. Also I never had a direct answer for a date when I wanted to know what day to expect. If they were to fix those issues I feel as if they would be top of the film developing stores at the moment.

3 nice dudes, everything you could want in a camera including very large poster size printers

I ordered something online and it was very delayed so I called to straighten it out and the guy on the phone was so pleasant and kind to me!!! He assured me he would figure it out and contact me the next day. I initially came on here and gave them 5 stars because I believed them but now I had to change my review because we are 22 days late getting my package and no explanation. It never even left the distribution center.

The guys in here are amazing. Pleasant and very helpful. They are definitely a go to if you are in the Garden City area, but they also offer online services. The best service you will receive.

They always make sure I got my film photos emailed to me properly by giving me a quick call. Turn around rate is sooo fast if not the same day I’ll get them back the next. As a customer of Neptune Photo for many years, I can honestly say there’s no camera and printing stores like it anymore. Neptune Photo offers a selection of cameras, prints, enlargements of any need that extends to every price range. It’s impossible to walk in there and not find something you like wether they have it in stock or place an order on it for you You walk into Neptune Photo and you know for a fact the staff will help you find what you’re looking for, for any event or occasion. Every time I walk in there it feels like family. As a camera lover myself it’s always a reliable place for me to find something I wasn’t expecting from their vast selection. As a longtime customer I really don’t know a better place in NY to get the best of service and feel as comfortable and not rushed as I do there. Truly one of New York’s hidden gems. PS. Sharon ( the lab manager) is defiantly the best in the industry at what she does. Film development, enlargements, prints. You name it. They do it.

Great place to get old video tapes converted to digital

I brought in some 120 film shot on my 620 camera. While the developing was done correctly and in an expedient fashion, I noticed that my prints were cropped. When you shoot 2.25 x 3.25, its easy to see what is and isnt in the final product. Unfortunately, I left the store before checking to make sure that what I saw on the negatives was 100% what was on the final print. Its almost as if they cropped my 6x9 shots to 6x7 and made judgements on my behalf as to what to do with the pictures.Edited after resolution 6-18-2020: I spoke to Ari, Mike, and Sharon, all of whom were very nice and explained that they can scan up to 6x7. They were every accommodating in explaining that they did their best judgement on what to print. They were honest and fair and I would give my business to them again for 35mm and 645 and 6x7. Sharon also does very good color touch up.Second edit 10-10-2020: removing a star at minimum due to allegations of recently overhauled cameras having identical and inconsistent light leaks. Currently investigating the matter with my tech, my film supplier, and third parties to find source of development issue. Staff has been accusatory, and unwilling to investigate if developing chemistry may have fault in 4 of my rolls, putting the onus on me to find the solution rather than provide more than cursory insight to how developing methods work.

They printed a 16x20 photo of my beautiful grandmother for her wake within hours. This was almost overlooked but they were able to get it done in time and even cropped out the background. It came out beautiful and is amazing. Thank you so much Neptune photo!!!!

Went here to have my camera sensor cleaned and they did an amazing job! The staff was very friendly and went over everything that was done to achieve the flawless result. You can tell that they are extremely passionate about what they do. I highly recommend checking them out for any of your photographic needs! 5/5!

Recently it was having some focus issues. I brought it in and in one day it was adjusted and is working again. No charge!That is why I will always use Neptune. The place is under new ownership ... I went to purchase a film camera. I’m young and haven’t been around too many film cameras so was looking for assistance, only to be met with someone who seemed like he couldn’t have been less interested in helping me. Strange and disappointing. Why have a camera store if you’re not interested in selling cameras?

I have visited this establishment with my wife on two occasions over the past month to get advice on buying a DSLR camera. On both occasions we were treated very politely and were not pressured into making a decision. The gentlemen behind the counter were patient and gave us a lot of their time and attention.

I was going from music production into the filming field and was completely new to the photography world.Ive been to other stores on the island, but for some reason Neptune had more of a family and welcoming feel to it, than just another oh look, another sucker walking through the door type of feel like some of the other stores I had previously visited before.I had recently purchased a camera and some other equipment when I started this journey from another store on Long Island before realizing that Neptune was 15 minutes away from me, instead of the 45 minutes I travelled to get to the other store.Too make a long story short, I was so disappointed that I gave my first business to the other retailer and not Neptune.I have never returned to the other store after going into Neptune and have no intentions of doing so.The gentleman Robert and his sister were so nice to me, that I started taking classes there after purchasing some lighting equipment and accessories.I have called Robert for help over the phone a few times, and he has helped me out tremendously every single time!Great store, great people and very knowledgeable!

Since going digital about 8 years ago, i have bought most all of my camera equipment here. i love this store. they treat you as friends, more than customers. i needed a new lens, and i went there 2 days ago. i am so happy with the way this lens performs, i should have done it months ago. i could be wrong, but i think the mans name was bill, and i apologize if i am, and he spent a good deal of time with me making sure i was comfortable with my decision. i have seen some negative reviews about this store, and, i cant imagine why.

I dont know what store the people who gave Neptune one and two star reviews were actually in but it cant have been Neptune Photo in Garden City.Im a professional photographer who has done business with Neptune for more than 30 years. I have always found their prices reasonable, their staff knowledgeable and extremely helpful, their selection of products and variety of services--from a superb photo lab to expert framing and everything in between--to be exceptional.If you want to deal with honest, professional salespeople who will always go the extra mile to help you find what you need and charge you a fair price for same you should go to Neptune Photo.

Staff was relatively unhelpful. Passport photos were rejected for not having a solid background. Do not go here for those photos even though they have a sign. Luckily I was able to get my money back.

I am a professional photographer with a large wedding and portrait studio in Florida.Our studio purchases a lot of photo and video equipment. For years I have dealt with large NYC online stores and have been fairly happy with their service and price.My experience with Neptune Photo is that they have the same price as the big guys but give great service too- getting me my Nikon D3s and NikonD 800 way before the big guys could. Plus I get lots of help and personalized service from their sales force. Wayne was my salesman and is very knowledgeable – he always has the answer to my questions or finds out and calls me right back.I highly recommend Neptune Photo, Vic Verola, Verola Studio.
