Have to say this was the best car buying experience I’ve ever had. Beginning with the great offer on my trade in, this was a pleasure. I bought a car I wasn’t so sure about and was able to return it no questions asked the next day, in a different city, getting the car I really wanted. The tool back the car I didn’t want, and got me into the one I did want in about an hour. Again, can’t say enough about the way these guys work, BEST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
I dont understand how this happened but this will never end. I bought a car for my birthday on 08/18. Four days later, it breaks down. I had it towed back here where no one told them it was there. I call up there and find out that it will no longer run. They set me up with a temporary vehicle, which I am grateful for, while they help me find a new car. The first gentleman that originally helped me was useless Id contact him via cell phone and its take him hours if not days to respond. So I go back up there and asked for someone new. She helped me get my current vehicle and I was told that day, that CarMax would pay off that original car and that it was done when I was there. Its supposed to be the reason I was sitting there for six hours. Every single time I was there, I was there for hours. Now Im getting calls from CarMax auto finance saying Im passed due for a payment on that original car. I called them back and they told me to call the CarMax business office. So I did. And they said that theres nothing they can do at the store level and to call CarMax auto finance. So I proceeded to call them back and was immediately disconnected. Im so frustrated about this. This is my first CarMax experience. I even had to wait two hours so they could detail clean this new car, but they didnt. I honestly feel like everyone here is sitting and twiddling their thumbs instead of communicating and doing their actual job.
Stop by my local CarMax to get an appraisal and they were very professional fast he said its going to take an hour 45 minutes to an hour and only took 30 minutes and it was very spacious then feel closed into anyone in a small space go check them out and get your appraisal today
A really good car buying experience! Denard was my salesman and was fast and efficient. Made sure that all of my paperwork was in line so that there was no issues on the credit side and even explained some of the reasons for why they do the verifications. The whole process took less than two hours and I drove out with a brand new car. They even put your name on the big television with a picture of the car you purchased! Very welcoming and very efficient! Would buy a car from them again.
My salesperson was top notch, best I ve ever had, and the 4-Star rating, instead of a 5-Star does not reflect his performance - he was a 10-Star, but your infrastructure let him and me down, and that caused your rating to drop. The first car I chose was Arrival Pending for a week or so, and it was impossible to get any information on the arrival after a week plus, so I chose another car in Tulsa, 90 miles away, and that took an additional 5 days, did not arrive when promised, and then it took a few days to pass inspection! 5 days for a 90-mile trip? Really? However, I was impressed that you did return my transportation fee. Delivery was a nightmare, and you kept me and Benson in the dark.
Best car buying experience ever. I left feeling positive. It was easy not stressful as part experience. I went in and left in a few hours, not all day like I had done before. Excellent vehicle.
The staff at the Garland, TX CarMax was really great! We needed to sell our minivan to get a down payment for our new car, and CarMax made us a significantly higher offer than we had gotten from another dealer. They were so easy to work with that it almost seemed to good to be true. They were very busy so it took a little longer than expected, but we walked out with a check in hand! We would not hesitate to go back to CarMax!
I had done an online quote for selling my vehicle and when they did the appraisal the amount of the offer increased.
We purchased 2 vehicles at the Garland location this year and we had Salesman Logan Pile both times. That guy is amazing. He was patient, he understood our wants, he took his time and never pressured us into making a decision. Super nice guy and I hope he’s still around for when we make more future purchases.

This CarMax location is very wonderful Ive had two great experiences selling my vehicles here and both times I received reasonable offers, and also an awesome experience with a purchase. The experience I had when visiting this location was positive, from the online experience to in store dealings, Id definitely recommend them to friends and family. If youre looking for a reasonable used car definitely try to stop by and see what they can offer, the customer service and professionalism is definitely evident in this location.
Couldnt been better selling my car. The price was fair and the process to complete the sale was so easy...even though I owed money on the vehicle. They cut a check right there and I had the money the same day. All of the staff that I encountered were friendly and professional. I highly recommend Carmax.
Super impressed. We had an online sales person partnered with an in-house salesman, Sean, both were amazing!In and out within 2 hours. We had a little problem, with a custom part that was on original listing.The sales manager WILL, researched and presented an amazing resolution that was above satisfactory to us.
Didnt come close to the online offer. Repp was very rude with me when I had questions in regards to the in-person off. They get you in there but give a much less offer than online states. My car was in good shape, no engine lite new tires, just needed some paint work, also high on miles. It was a great cat Toyota corolla. Had a lot of life left. They didnt even come close to the blue book value.

I was approved in one day, went in selected my car and minutes later…I signed my documents and drove off in my new truck. Oh they also had it all cleaned up with a huge bow on the hood which made me feel so special.

Not that I would discourage anyone buying their car from CarMax but I would never frequent them again. The car I wished ton purchase took extremely too long to arrive. Approximately a month. Then when I came to pick up/purchase the vehicle it was sold to another customer the day before I arrived after paying for it to be transferred. After waiting another 3 weeks to get a suitable replacement the vehicle had no gas cap causing my check engine light to come on days after picking up the vehicle.
Very easy process with CarMax. Everything makes sense when working with them. All the locations are similar and transferring a car is no big deal. We have bought 3 cars through them now and will always consider them first when looking for a car.
Not only CarMax gave us the best initial offer for our car, when we came to our appointment they gave us even a better one!
Great Experience purchasing my car. Horrible Experience when it’s time to get serviced. The Service Department is the worst. The service department Manger Dusty is a horrible representation for the company. She gave no solution, showed no empathy, and had no knowledge of her teams work ethic. Also Marnesha who works in the department never did her job. I was never updated on my vehicle and she kept me in the loop for a week. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!
My sales consultant, Garrett Johnson, was excellent! The computer system was temporarily down to some system upgrades - Garrett made the experience as comfortable and smooth as possible.
We like Car Max and have purchased multiple cars from Car Max. We have had good customer service reps and sometimes not so good reps. This time the reps decided she could handle two customers at the same time and the car buying process took way longer than it needed to be. The rep would enter data in the computer in front of us and it was apparent that the info was for the buyer at another area nearby. If the rep did not care to give us our full attention, she should have turned us over to another rep. What was really disappointing was that instead of being transparent about the situation, she tried to act like she was only helping us and not two customers simultaneously. Transparency is only what should be done as a courtesy. Do NOT walk away and say you will be back and then take forever to come back when you are actually handling a sales for another customer! Only than taking an entire day when the process should have taken only half a day at most, the experience was all right. We liked that the car was placed on hold so we could see it immediately. The process of getting the trade-in offer for the car we traded in could have been initiated soon so that we did not have to wait so long—again it was more that the sales rep was handling two customers at the same time. We also had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for the admin to come out so we could sign all the paperwork. Once she did come out, the process went quickly and smoothly. It would also be helpful, when cars do not have the manual, if the manual could be ordered by Car Max or the process could be speeded up. We had to go to a dealership to order the manual and it will not come in for several weeks. We really need the manual sooner than that.
I literally just walked out of here. I was going to test drive a vehicle and possibly trade in my vehicle. I did a trade in assessment online, but felt like it had to be wrong because it was $2,000 lower than KBB, VRoom, and another dealership that I was at couple days before. I asked for an in person trade in assessment in the dealership. The saleswoman said, They will walk outside and look at it but it will not change from the amount you were offered online. I said, well never mind the test drive and have a nice day. I left, Ill purchase with the dealership I went to originally. Moral of the story is, dont do an online trade in assessment at Carmax if you want your true trade in value.
Purchased a car today and an odor that smelled like a mixture of urine & mildew became apparent and intense, the seatbelt had the strongest b.o odor (they sanitize the car before the test drive must have masked the odor temporarily). The overall cleanliness was subpar. I called in less than 3 hours later and was told that they can put me in a new car, I could use my insurance to pay them to give me a loaner until they fixed the issue or I could pay out of pocket to fix it and get reimbursed. I asked if they could provide a loan w/out using my insurance while they fixed the issue and was told no so Im stuck in a smelly car until Monday. I had to saran wrap the seatbelt, put a seat cover down and put a couple air fresheners in the car because the smell transferred to my clothes. Im shocked at the lack of ownership or unwillingness to help me without inconveniencing me.Update- I recieved a call stating the manager approved the rental while they work on the issue. Ill reconsider my rating based on the final outcome.
I started with the appraisal online then decided to make an appointment. The staff were friendly and helpful. After looking at my car they came back with the offer which was the same as the appraisal. Quick, easy and a painless experience.

I purchased a car from CarMax, other car dealerships wanted like 500 monthly because I had no credit but they got me into an affordable car with payments at 263. Everything has been great so far, my battery went dead and they reimbursed me for it, which was wonderful. The only downfall was the salesman he was very pushy and you could tell he wanted to leave because his shift was over. He told me he was payed off commission and was kind of bragging about it. When I was on the phone with the insurance company he told me to tell them to hurry up. I just felt like he was very rude. Other than that I have no complaints.
As a guy who used to work at a dealership, to say that I’m very familiar with the car buying process is an understatement. Even still, CARMAX went above and beyond in ways I’ve NEVER seen. Every staff member was top tier, the sales process flew by smoothly, and the one small issue I had was resolved in maybe 20 minutes by their service techs. Big thanks to Rogers in sales, and Will & Dusty in service for taking care of me. A++
Worst car experience ever. Every car that was there was unavailable for sale. Very few cars are available even though the lot is full. Salesman tried to change how many hours I work a week to make my payments higher even though proof was there. Never shop here in garland
I requested a car be transferred from another city and someone didnt get that done. I found another car I wanted to test drive and made an appointment . I was there on time but didnt get seen until 30 minutes later. Things started to look up after Jesse Garcia came to help me. He was fantastic. There were problems on line with the car I wanted but he made several phone calls until he found the person who could help. I did get the car I wanted and got it the day I went in. Car Maxs process is easy and their employees are great. I got a great trade-in amount on my old 16year old car. Jesse made my experience great. I will go back to Car Max if I need another car.
Very disappointed about the customer service there. I’m currently leaving after sitting in the waiting area for 30-40 mins with no one going to assist me. Went in to get my vehicle appraised and was told that I’ll be seen in a few. After my long wait I went back to the counter and No one knew I was even back there waiting for the service. With this big of an opportunity and investment, I would have liked to be treated more attentively.

I needed a car. I went online and shopped around till I found what the wife and I could agree on and filled out the finance app online with CM . They approved me and I went to the CM dealership to test drive the car and they had me in and out with our car detaled and ready to go in about 2 hrs from start to finish. No problems.
It was a busy Beautiful Saturday. Thankfully I had a reservation, they got me in and out in about an hour to sell my jeep. I am quite satisfied with the wait time and have already recommended others to look at Carmax first when selling their vehicle. THANKS- it was seamless!

I really had an amazing experience here. Ive never leased a car because I really despise dealerships and I know my credit wasnt the best. I decided this year was a year to finally get a newer vehicle that would last me a while and decided to take a chance with CarMax. I explained my budget and spoke with the gentlemen who was helping me the day I went in. I experienced a snag on my end but the staff here was extremely patient and so helpful. I appreciate the service that was provided and was so excited to finally get my new car. I would recommend this place to anyone...and already have! I wont be looking anywhere else for cars at this point forward!! THANKS SO MUCH CARMAX!!

We went in to see what we could get for both our cars, that were purchased at carmax 5 years ago. Not only was the service speedy on a HOT Texas summer day, but they also made sure we were hydrated and checked on us every 20 minutes while we waited. We ended up getting another car through them because the deals were crazy affordable! It was a very busy Saturday so of course there was a wait, but with the service we received it didnt seem like we were there that long. Totally recommend carmax if youre looking for great prices and a reliable car.

My experience with CarMax Garland was the best car buying experience I’ve ever had. I was able to see vehicle and owner history, specs, detailed pictures, comparisons and reserve a test drive all from the convenience of my home. Once I arrived at the store, the salesman was friendly and knowledgeable. The buying process was easy and all details of the financing were covered without hassle. I felt very confident I was getting a fair and competitive deal.After I had the vehicle one week, I took it back to CarMax to have them look at a mechanical issue I was concerned about. The representative was very courteous and attentive. I was given a loaner vehicle but was back in my vehicle after only three days with the issue being fully repaired under their 90 day warranty.I am in an industry very much like auto sales so I did my homework. After careful comparison to similar services, I would highly recommend CarMax. They are the Chick-Fil-A of auto sales.

Worst place to sell ur car! They took forever on everything and when they called saying it was all ready we still had to wait... They were not friendly and had very poor communication skills... nobody seemed to know what they r doing or what is going on...
I had completed all financing over the phone, all I had to do was test drive the car I had already picked out and do the trade in of my current car. I had an appointment at 6pm, I arrived early. It was 730 before I even got to test drive. The car had only 24psi of air in the back tire, I was unable to test drive on the highway because service was too busy and I should be just fine to drive on the highway. I ended up leaving at 10pm. I was the last one to be seen even though everything was done and I just needed to sign. I sat for 2 hours waiting to sign.My sells man was less than helpful.I could not reach anyone in the service department the next day. I left two messages and called multiple times throughout the work day and never received a call back. I ended up calling a different CarMax and got right in. I still to this day never received a call back from the store I purchased my car through. I will NOT visit that CarMax again nor will I recommend ANYONE to that place. I have 4 family members who recently purchased through CarMax, I was the ONLY one to have any problems and I was the only one who was pre-approved and knew exactly which car I wanted.

Buying a vehicle with CarMax really *is* the way car buying should be. I dont feel pressured; I dont have to haggle. I love the option of extended warranty - it came in handy on my first car through CarMax when I needed a new infotainment system. The new unit didnt cost me a penny!
The sales person was very helpful. The person that contacted me when I requested a transfer at one point would not respond to my texts when I was trying to set up my appointment. Also, I paid cash so I asked the guy the easiest way to pay. He told me to just use my debit card. I didnt realize there would be a daily limit on my card so I was on the phone with my bank for a half hour. It all worked out in the end.

If I could give zero stars I would. Never in my life have I had such awful customer service and lack of knowledge at a dealership. I literally walked out of a car deal after 4 hrs of agony because of their incompetence and went to the McKinney dealership. (Much better service) But alas Garland had my appraisal still in their system and did not release it as requested by the McKinney Carmax. While I was at the McKinney dealer a woman at a nearby desk was looking to go to Garland to look at a vehicle and I exclaimed dont do it, have the vehicle transfer. And I warning yall, dont go to Garland, transfer your vehicle elsewhere, its free anyway for local transit.

I got a quote for my car online and then went to the store. In about an hour I received the amount that the quote said. The process was simple and easy.
Disappointed in the lack of communication from the appraisers and buyers offices today. Tried to use power of attorney to transfer the title from the original owner (relative) to me. Multiple people told me I could scan back and forth with the owner but when it came time to sell I was told everything had to be original and that it was a state law. Thanks for wasting my time, maybe the employees should have an understanding of what state laws apply to their business.

I had a wonderful experience, i transferred my new vehicle in from a different location, and received updates often about the status of my delivery. When it arrived my salesman was ready for me, the location was clean and they were taking social distancing and CDC recommendations seriously. I also sold them my current vehicle and I think I received a fair appraisal that was higher than other dealerships! My transaction was complete in about 1 hour which is awesome considering how much time I expected to spend at a car dealership. Shout out to the CarMax Garland team, they were all amazing especially my salesman Benson! I loved the extra step to deliver my car with a bow on top! Such a nice touch!
