Calvert Hearing Care and Dr. Clay Mainord are exceptional in every way. The staff and facilities at both locations I have visited over these past six years deliver superior care and an excellent environment. Dr. Mainord is outstanding! It is difficult to imagine how anything could improve my experience.
The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I went to get batteries and I was also able to get my hearing aids, serviced very quickly.

Stay away from this place and its neglectful staff. I chose this location since it’s close to where I live, and it had positive reviews -most likely fake- both in Google and Yelp. The audiologist and the staff were courteous, no issue there. I was also able to easily book an appointment within three days of requesting it. However, they really don’t listen to their patients/clients.I went in for ear impressions so that I could order some Sensaphonics sleep earplugs. I communicated this to the audiologist, Susan, during my visit and she mentioned they could order those at no additional charge. I decided to let them order them on my behalf since it’d be easier for me to pick up there, then to mail the paperwork and impressions myself. The coordinator, Lucia, provided me with a business card so that I could email her the “Ear Impressions How 2” provided on the Sensaphonics website which I did before seeing the audiologist. Before I left, I confirmed again in front of both, Susan, and Lucia, that I wanted Sensaphonics earplugs and the audiologist even asked what color. I left the office feeling a bit uneasy as neither audiologist nor coordinator took notes down on my instructions. As soon as I arrived home, I emailed Lucia to triple validate they had understood which type of earplugs I wanted and what brand- no reply. I then called and spoke to Lucia the next day and mentioned I hadn’t received a reply to my email and that I just wanted to confirm they had all the necessary details. Lucia confirmed she received the email and that she would pass down a copy to the audiologist.Two weeks later, I stop by to pick up my earplugs. I received these in a plastic bag, no box, no purchasing order, nothing. A bit odd for $120 earplugs. I get home and try them on and they’re super uncomfortable, I realize there’s no way I can sleep in those. I then searched the Sensaphonics website and noticed all their sleep earplugs are clear due to their softness- mine were hot pink. I immediately called, left a voicemail, and emailed the office, but it was past their 2:00 PM closing time on a Friday. On Monday, I get a call back from some other lady (not Lucia) to find out they had ordered my earplugs from their provider, Starkey. I had specifically mentioned at least five times through different channels, that I wanted Sensaphonics earplugs. She then goes on to inform me all their earplugs are ordered from Starkey and they can’t order from Sensaphonics. I tell her I want to return the earplugs and I’m told that while they can refund the cost of the earplugs, they won’t refund the impressions’ cost, $50. Then, she asks if I want to schedule an appointment to get new impressions for $50 more. At this point, I’m thinking she might be joking. Why would I continue any business with this establishment? I tell her I don’t want an appointment and I’ll be stopping by to drop off the earplugs. Neither the audiologist or coordinator showed their face when I stopped to drop off the earplugs and they let some other lady apologize for their mistake. I would rather drive an hour if that means I’ll get decent service and what I actually paid for.

I dont normally respond to flyers in the mail but the one I received from Calvert was the first advertisement that described the exact hearing problem I was experiencing I decided It would not hurt to take them up on their offer for a free hearing test.Long story short, It is hard to describe the feeling of getting back the hearing that I had lost over several years. There was no pressure to purchase but when I heard what I had been missing for so long I made the buy decision on the spot.For years I have not been able to carry on a conversation in a noisy environment. I would try to read lips but that was not very effective. Ordering a meal in a loud restaurant was a challenge and I usually told my wife what to order for me. Going to the movies always left me wondering what was being said on screen. Ordering fast food at the drive up would be unheard of.All of that has changed! I can HEAR AGAIN like when I was younger. This was the best gift to myself, ever! I put this off for way too long, what a mistake! If you want a big part of your life back, these folks can probably help, check it out!
I knew I had hearing loss. I just didnt know I had so much. Susan explained everything to me. She programmed the hearing aids so that my hearing would improve gradually and give me time to get adjusted to hearing better. Its a good thing she did. After the first day at work with improved hearing, I hated the hearing aids. Everyone in the office was way too loud. The hearing aids are comfortable and I have had absolutely no problems with them. Im still amazed at how quick and painless Susan made the entire process. I know if I have any questions or problems, I can call and get the answers I need. If I had known it would be this easy, I wouldnt have waited so long. Thank you.

Skilled and thorough professionals completed a delightful visit. Ive found the right place to take care of my hearing loss problems.

My father has severe hearing loss and didn’t believe new hearing aids would help him. He had hearing aids from a big box store and they weren’t sufficient, and he was sure nothing would help his hearing loss. We took him to Susan at Calvert Hearing and she told us she could help his hearing. Susan’s personal touch with my disgruntled father was so helpful. The family noticed the difference in his hearing as soon as he got the new hearing aids. After a couple of weeks my father is finally admitting he can hear much better with the new hearing aids. Susan and the staff at Calvert’s were fantastic and we have already recommended them to a friend who needs hearing aids.
Ive been going to Calvert Hearing Care for about 6 or 7 years and I have never been disappointed. Ive gotten two hearing aids through them and each time my hearing aids were properly setup and adjusted for optimum useage. I highly recommend the Garland location, the one Im familiar with. The services from the front desk to the Audiologist are professional and very helpful.

Dr. Joe and his staff provided a great customer experience for me. Dr. Joe fitted me with a customized hearing device perfect for my specific needs. I have had loss of hearing since early childhood and accepted my fate until I discovered Dr. Joe and his staff through a letter in the mail, a true Godsend.
This hearing facility is the BEST place to go if you have hearing problems. They will test your hearing and give you a fact based analysis of your hearing needs. They will also determine if you have a problem with ear wax and not need a hearing aid. They will prescribe the best aid for your specific need and explain the pros and cons based on your specific hearing loss. Their prices are very compatible with those offered by hospital and ENT doctor offices. They will advise you against much cheaper aids if they will not help with your hearing loss analysis but leave the choice to you. The audiologists at Calvert Hearing Center are highly trained, professional and highly motivated to meet your hearing needs. I have gone to this center for many many years and highly recommend them especially over cheaper centers that just want to sell you any kind of aid regardless of whether it meets your need.

My husband is in his early 40s and has been struggling with hearing problems since his early 30s. I scheduled him an appointment with Calvert right after Christmas. One week later, we have hearing aids. So far, we have been thrilled with the aids and absolutely in awe of the level of service we have received from Calvert Hearing. From scheduling with Marsia, to testing and follow-up with Dr. Mainord, we have been SO pleased with the quality and level of service we have received. My husband visited a few facilities during the last few years; but he never felt comfortable making the commitment to buying/trying hearing aids. Ive been to several other Hearing Care Centers in Dallas and had a pretty awful experience. A friend recommended Calvert and I am so very glad that he did. If you need proper hearing care, go talk to Susan (Dr Tseng Feinberg) and you wont regret it.

My current Oticon aids allow me to hear better than I have in over 20 years of wearing hearing aids. He knows his stuff, knows how to listen, and his office staff is the best! You cant go wrong at either location!
