Artisan products. Good variety of sauces, jellies and like products from local makers. Good place to pick up gifts of culinary delight. Not a farm stand. Small livestock corral at the back of parking lot with friendly furry cows and other animals.
Great place to give your breath a makeover! I came for the garlic, stayed for the goats out back. Made new friends. Bring TicTacs
Drive to the next Garlic stand its only a quarter mile down the road much nicer place
Always a good stop for stocking up on our Garlic supplies. They were a little sold out due to recent Garlic Festival. But we were able to get our supplies & few extras. Always friendly & fair pricing.
It was Awesome! I was able to pick up some good items . The employee was very knowledgeable in answering questions.
Great place for spices. A lot of Garlic influenced ones. You can get spices, oils, mixes, seasoning and of course Garlic.Garlic icecream also a specialty. A bit on the pricey end but nevertheless wonderful flavors.
All sorts of garlic goodies and definitely try the fried artichokes from The Choke Coach, which you will find at PEZZINI FARMS, down the highway. They are the best!!!
A wonderful family run garlic shop. You can pick up multiple varieties of garlic, and locally made products. Very convenient for exiting the freeway if youre on 101 North.
Place has alot of unique foods. Most of which are grown locally and are fresher than most stores. Place has amazing garlic ice cream that is super cheap. Definitely worth the grab. Also theres donkeys and cows in the parking lot so..... Yeah pretty awesome. 4 stars cause the one lady working there could clean up her attitude a little.
Great location, staff is grumpy on all 3 of my stops here. Spent quite a bit of money here anyway because I love all things garlic and was not disappointed with my purchases.
Bad experience here with a couple of old fat liars. The owner gave us rotten garlic heads. So when we returned to get new garlic or a refund. The 2 old ladys made up an excuse. Then told us to put a mask on or the health Department would cite us.Dont shop here. Their products are bad and they wont guarantee them.
It smells amazing when you walk in, tons of fresh garlic and lots of fun gifts, and garlic foods. I love it!
Cutw shop, probably was way better before covid, 2 older women running the place and they were not friendly nor helpful even though you can spend 100 bucks quickly. Lots of hot sauce options and garlic.
I unashamedly admit, I love garlic. We went in to get Garli-garni, a tremendous seasoning that we use on eggs, pasta, chicken, as well as blend with butter to put on a steak. They had sold out two cases in the days. The owner introduced us to Dude Dust, more garlic, less salt. Will see how this goes. Got a jar of lemon dust as well.
Cute place to stop and check out. We did enjoy the samples, and purchased some garlic mustard and picked garlic. Only downfall is the added high fructose corn syrup in many of the products. The owner was present and very helpful with questions. The garlic cooking oil must be good, because it was sold out and that is what we went looking for 😞 The outside environment is farm animals and chickens in the parking lot, kinda cool I thought.
Big selection of food items and household goods. And lets not forget the fresh garlic. We all bought a lot of things there.
They had restrooms and the shop had great little knick knacks.
They had so many Cool items here! They have kitchen items, fresh garlic, and best if all they had garlic ice cream! The ice cream was surprisingly delicious. I also got some tequila pistachios and they were gone within the day. The only thing some people may not like is the price of their products. I walked out spending upwards of $80, but I didnt have anything to complain about after.
There was a lot of garlic to choose from and good prices
We’ve stopped by The Garlic Shoppe a handful of times during road trips between northern and southern California and it is a quaint little shop with a nice owner. Lots of local offerings and of course garlic flavored offerings, as that is what the area is famous for. My favorite is the farm animals kept in the adjacent parking lot. Yesterday as the owner closed up shop he told me I could feed the animals some hay before we left and I was elated despite being allergic to hay, I couldn’t resist because they were so cute. 2 horses, 3 cows, a donkey, and a chicken in the tree. Just charming!
Hoping the Garlic Shoppe rebounds from Covid. It is obvious they took a hit. After posting the above, the Garlic Shoppe reached out to me and I am very happy they did. As suspected and now confirmed, this little roadside garlic oasis did in fact take a huge hit during Covid as many of their vendors are just now getting back to producing product or have gone out of business completely. The Garlic Shoppe is diligently and busily working with the recovering vendors and I am certain, will be back to their odiferous glory soon. The service is very good and we will continue to make the Shoppe a destination when traveling. Viva La Garlic Shoppe!
Found gifts and fun cooking stuff
Still a great shop! Lots of different things to choose. Dips, spreads, rubs, olives, garlic and more. A fun stop on the way to Monterey.
Small, convenient, and expensive. But overall would recommend.
Always wanted to stop, finally did. Disappointed. Spent $50 on garlic chips, garlic popcorn, garlic salsa & 2 garlic spices. Found out garlic chips are from Vietnam, not happy about that. I thought everything in there was local- guess NOT (read the labels before you buy) Then when I got to my hotel 5hrs away I noticed the salsa was leaking, the lid was not sealed all the the way but Im still going to try it (hope I dont get sick)? It was sitting in a hot car & not properly sealed. Tried one of the garlic seasonings and I dont taste garlic in it? Its very bland and a total waste of $13.00 but it is made in Hollister, so thats more local then Vietnam. The Popcorn was the best thing (I think) It is made in Morgan Hill, close but still not Gilroy with Gilroy garlic. Still waiting to try the other seasoning. But Im sure it will be disappointing as well, As none of these products are made in Gilroy or with Gilroy grown garlic. However the guys working in the store are nice and friendly. Still not worth the money I spent and I feel it is a misleading tourist trap. I wont ever stop again. And dont get me started about the fruit stand girl selling cherries down the road. Thinks they are grown in Washington? And NO tastings or sampling. Mind you I stopped in Gilroy, CA- garlic capital of the world. Strawberries & cherries grow in Watsonville (next town over).
The shop was well organized with everything garlic related. I discovered some amazing garlic snacks that I had no idea existed.
Was hoping to find more but I left with a ton of great local garlic and hot sauces. Definitely worth a stop.
We came 5 minuets from closing and they treated us like we were the best customers that have ever walked into the doors. They answered all of our questions and gave out fun local information that made our trip even better. The local made spices and sauces have incredible taste and pure ingredients that will keep us buying them online (online if I can find them) so do you’re self a favor and stop in to find yourself a new favorite garlic flavor.
Large selection of local products. Amiable and helpful staff.I Will stop by again next time Im in the area.
Nice selection of products and cute store. However the customer service was terrible and the two gentleman that worked their were rude. Wont spend anymore of my money there!!
Im not sure what happened with my original post, the garlic shoppe has a huge selection of gilroy garlic items, always a fun stop.
Garlic ice cream was Amazing. You have to try it.
Great place to check out. Easy off and on the highway. Garlic chocolate ice scream was ......
First and last time supporting this business. The product is good. Everything is Overpriced. Bad customer service; Workers came across as hostile, rude and annoyed that we were there shopping and supporting their business. My husband and I bought $65 worth of their product and they didnt have the common curiosity to say a single word to us.Not much of a variety.Dusty shelves.
Yum, Yum and more Yum! This time we stopped so our granddaughter could try Garlic Ice Cream and no, she didnt like it, my husband had to eat it🤣. They have a great variety of Garlic here so we like to stop when we have time.
A lot of delicious treats and wonderful people that work there
Nice shop but very over priced
Very unique gifts and large monster garlic cloves. Definitely worth stopping. Too much to see in one trip so its a good place to stop for bathroom break when traveling.
Dec 29 2016... GS is currently closed. Lady at Garlic World said that on Christmas day, a family accidentally drove their car through the front.Love the selection...yes, the garlic ice cream is the bomb! Both chocolate and vanilla...we get some every time we drive thru. Get enough product, earn free wine tasting next door...garlic wine anybody?
Its a fun place if you want anything Garlic, because they have it. They also have some cute gifts. Even though I love ice cream and garlic, I do not like the garlic ice cream at all. Neither did my family. Other then that, it was a nice rest stop. The seet little old ladies running the place were wonderful and really friendly.
All kinds of great things and spices. Oh and the wines are great also.
Nice place to visit
Kitsch-y little roadside shop. Great place for a quick stop to grab a garlic braid and some of their seasoning blends.
If you like garlic at all, this stop is for you! From the second I walked in the front door my nose was delighted with the delicious scents of many different kinds of garlic. They have every kind of garlic product you can think of here! I especially enjoyed the garlic ice cream. The shopkeepers will happily let you sample some of their different garlic products if youre curious too. They also had a deal when we were there with the next door winery for a free tasting with purchase at the garlic shoppe. Worth a stop too!
Love the garlic shoppe.
Great place, excellent service.
A lot a good stuff good prices
Not much you couldnt find in a grocery store and very expensive.
Nice friendly atmosphere...🙃
Really nice 👌
My favorite stop for many years, nice garlic selection; sales person ambivilent and not motivated.
Loved short horses and unusual looking cows with beautiful scenery
Fun little shop
Nice, friendly staff, great options at good prices.
Good selection of Garlic related items especially the hot sauces. Some if the items are expensive.
Garlic icecream. Dont knock it til ya try it! 😋🥄 I had garlic products shipped to family on the east coast. At the time i went they had 20% off gift baskets but i picked my own variety. We also got to try various hot sauce samples. Cashier gave us tickets for free wine tasting next door. Ended up getting 3 bottles. Including garlic wine of course. Place is easily accessed off the main roadway. Farm animals outback at parking lot. Watch out for the crazy rooster.
Kinda dusty, needs to get some fresher products on shelves...but they have garlic braids!!👍💗
Store had great products.Seemed a little dirty/ dusty...
Kindness matters.
Not what it used to be when it was part of the outlets back in the day. Person tending the counter just didnt care. Shame to see an iconic place the way it is now.
We walked in and forgot our masks and instantly was confronted about it which was no big deal so we asked for a mask. They wanted to charge my girlfriend and i for a mask so I walked to the car to get a couple. When I walked I with the mask she was already wearing one the cashier gave her since I had the money to pay for the mask. I asked her about but the cashier and manager proceeded to give my girlfriend a problem for not having it over her nose. She fixed it and turned around without saying anything and he told us to leave and said we were trespassing for doing what he wanted us to do. We followed his rules and got the cops called on us. He wouldnt explain anything on why he was kicking us out and calling the cops on us when we just stopped by for some garlic. We wore a mask and covered our noses but he still proceeded to follow us and tell the cops our make and model of the car and be rude to us when i have my 2 month year old kid.
Who ever thought of garlic and jam? Never thought Id hear those two together would I ever (EVER) eat it, but it was de-li-cious on bread. So strange but satisfying-- I wish I got more garlic infused food!
This place is a must to check out! They have so many delicious specialty products to try, that you will have to go there over and over again to try them all!
Garlic ice cream! And all kinds of other stuff.
I love this place. Everything in here is very delicious. The purple garlic (seasonal) is my favorite. All the other produce in here is very fresh. They have local honey as well as wines and Olive oil and a bunch of other tasty and healthy snacks. They sell some crafts too. The staff here a very friendly and they have a lot of good parking spaces with easy on and off freeway access to North bound Hwy 101.
Love the selection. Little bit pricey but all the ohhhhs and ahhhhs you get when you pull one of their products out is well worth it
The owner was rude and he asked us to put our mask on so we did then he just told us to leave because we were trespassing. Would highly recommend Garlic World down the street
Very nice.
They turned me and my $$$$ away over the ridiculous mask.....let the fools fade away as they surely will.
We always stop here when driving by. Lots of fun hot sauces and gift items for family. While its not my thing, I enjoyed the opportunity to try the Garlic Ice Cream.
Awesome little shop, bad is the prices. Same stuff down hwy 5 is half the price.
Garlic 🧄 ice cream was great
Mmmmmm.....
