I brought my car in for some side pipes. Received a quote for 4500 from Eric which includes parts and installation. So far all looks good and I want to be very optimistic about my Corvette with the side pipes. Also when its in service I would like to have a oil change as discussed. Also I noticed that the heat is not working on my car and may need a thermostat and would like to get that also investigated.

Eric and his team are amazing! Its incredibly hard to find a mechanic thats honest, knows what theyre talking about and ABOVE all that a reasonable price. Unlike Central Service in Addison, Eric and his team were able to quickly diagnose the issue and repair my cobalt that wouldnt even start. I had exhaust issues, and my starter had failed. I had my doubts as anyone should with a new mechanic, but i know i found my go to guy forever. 10/10 would go back all the time. Thanks guys!

My family and I have been going to Eric Herbst for all our automotive repairs for over 5-6 yrs. I was referred to him by word of mouth from a close friend prior to him opening his shop, Herbst Performance, last year. He’s friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional.He’s honest and fair, and from a person who used to firmly believe repair work is best from the dealership, Eric proved me wrong. My 2008 Toyota 4Runner, 2002 and 2008 Honda Accords, and 2001 Honda CR-V all with over 200K miles run like as if they were new.

Probably the best place to get service on your vehicle done. These guys do it all! Much cheaper than a dealership and they inspect everything when you go. Quick and easy and no bs. Purchased Brembo brakes online and Eric measured everything we needed in order for the brakes to fit my car. Brakes came from an older generation MK5 VW and I have the MK6 Golf. Besides brakes Ive went to him for clutch repairs and oil leaks. They find the problem right away and fixed for me. 11/10 would recommend. Never going to the dealership again.

As a first time customer, I was very impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail that was portrayed during this experience. Honesty and fair pricing is definitely a quality of this shop. These guys know what they are doing and offer great advice and opinions to whatever your needs are. Nice to know that car guys are still out there !

This review is a couple weeks in the making. My moms 2008 Lexus IS250 had an exhaust leak. The Exhaust was noisy upon start up and sounded bad when driving. I looked through the exhaust but could not pinpoint the problem. A member on a local car forum previously reached out to me to refer me to contact Eric @ Herbst High Performance. I called him and explained what the concern was with the car. He said he has seen many of the same model have the same problem. He explained the area where the heat shields are located rot away due to a poor design. He even went as far as to mention that Lexus dealers stock this section of the exhaust. That tells you everything you need to know. He did not have to share this information, he could have said bring it in to be inspected and charge the inspection fee. I asked what his availability was looking like ( I called on a Friday ), he said swing by the shop and he would look at it. Saturday AM, I took the car in, Eric confirmed the middle section of the exhaust was the issue. He helped with locating a replacement system on eBay. He was okay with me ordering the part and bringing the car back for install. He noticed the brake pedal seemed low, these cars also have issues with the rear caliper slide pins. Since I do not drive the car, I did not really notice. I ordered the exhaust and then scheduled an appointment. Great communication over the course of 2 weeks and an itemized quote was prepared for the exhaust and brake work. I scheduled to return on a Saturday morning, the car was fully repaired within a couple hours. All new brakes in the rear and the exhaust is nice and quiet. Just like new. Eric even sent a message in the evening to follow up and see how the car felt on the ride home. Its nice to know there are honest, hard working people who take pride in their work. I wont hesitate to contact him again for future repairs. A+

Ive been getting my cars fixed by Herbst High Performance for over 15 years. Theres no one else in the area that can fix anything from a Lamborghini to a Honda. The new shop is great. The mechanics are very knowledgeable. Much more so than most of the people at dealerships and the oil change places. The work is done right the first time.

I dropped off my Lexus and specifically told the advisor that I need my whole exhaust system to be replaced. The person in charge says that he will get back at me with a quote and diagnose the root cause of the problem.Later on the day I went back to the shop to see if they have a quote for the job and told me that I need the whole exhaust system to be replace which I told him in the first place. No quote for the job but charge me 50 dollars for a diagnose that I have told him already when I first brought the car there.Also the comment that the gentleman was very rude when I went in to pick up my car. Before I can leave the shop with my car he told me that Nothing is free here. Then he quote me for an unnecessary diagnosis.They did not disclose that there will be a charge. Its really hard to find a trusted mechanic to do a very simple job and Herbst is not the shop that I would recommend to anyone. Negative Star if I can.

I have been working with Eric (the owner) for many years now, and I cant say enough good things about the experience. In fact I drive my cars out to his shop from the city (and take the train home) because of the excellent work he does. He will never try to sell or pressure you into something you dont need, and his work is absolutely top notch. Do yourself a favor and stop going to the dealership, and take it to Eric instead. The quality of work is better, and he is less expensive.

Eric and his team tackled my 67 Cutlass needed a bunch of seals repleaces new carb fuel pump. Eric was told to take his time doing the work that I was in no rush. He knocked it out of the park. Car is running better than it has since I bought it

Honest mechanics that know what they are doing. Rates are much cheaper than dealerships. Plus they dont up sell you on work that your vehicle doesnt need.They are the only shop I let work on my vehicles. And I am VERY particular about my vehicles! Thanks again HHP!

I brought one of my cars to Eric because 2 other auto shops (including the dealer could not fix the problem on my Cadillac STS-V. I had been searching for a shop for a about a year and finally came across Herbst Automotive. Being let down in the past by other shops I was very skeptical that this issue wouldnt be resolved. He had my car for one day and fixed the problem, I couldnt believe it. I even waited to write this review just to make sure the problem was fixed, and sure enough I havent had an issue. He is very knowledgeable and VERY FAIR ON PRICING. You wont be disappointed.

Have multiple cars, Eric is the only person that I would let work on my cars . My 1967 Corvette has not run and drove this good in the 25 years since I own it rebuilt the carb and adjusted it runs like new.I also have 1989 911 and a 1995 993 from repairing oil leaks and ac work and maintenance from A to Z hes the best .Thanks Eric Took my Rover there for coolant smell in the inside . With in a hour said it was the heater core. Had taken to dealer before and they said they could not find a problem. Quick service and done right . It has been 2 weeks of driven and the smell is gone . Its nice to to know you can take to Eric and the repair is done right. Thx Eric again
