Ace Hardware is not like any other store that I have ever been to. The Meineckes, who own 5 different locations around the Milwaukee area, have a fantastic crew; each Ace member works together to satisfy ones needs. When you walk into the store, you are greeted with a warm welcome by the cashiers as they direct you to an aisle where they believe best fits what you are looking for. Depending on how busy it is (it can get very busy), another employee awaits to assist you. Asking as many questions as one might, these employees give outstanding advice. If you have a project you are working on and have no clue what you are doing, dont worry. They are there to guide you with every step of the way. If an employee is not familiar with a certain topic, they are willing to ask another employee or employees to step in. Which truly shows that Ace wants to help you compared to big box brands which might not answer your questions or personally point out your options. Even though the employees are working individually, they work together as a team. Which over the years, I have not seen a lot. If what you are looking is not there, they are happy to call another sister store to see if they carry it, otherwise order it online to get it as soon as possible. This is a big store for not being a big box brand and for someone who had never been here before it might be overwhelming, but the employees working on the floor know the store so well and want to make sure that you arent anxious while looking around. Dont be afraid or hesitate to ask a question. Every store has its flaws and I bet some individuals have experienced these, but Ace truly wants to help you. The employees are not only kind and helpful but also extremely patient and inviting.

Dont be fooled by appearances, this place is smaller on the outside! Inside, it seems to go on forever. Filled with all the things you came for and many that you only just discovered that you need.

This store is very crowded with merchandise due to its relatively small size. For those who have space issues (anxious/uncomfortable but not claustrophobic), it can be unnerving.

I stopped in the Ace location on Port Washington. I was a bit intimidated since the store was so crowded. I was immediately asked if I needed help and directed where to go. I needed a piece of plexiglass cut and Frank ask me how he could help. I gave him the measurements and he cut it quickly while answering my questions. I love Menards but will shop here from now on. Its a local business in the community and there were plenty of friendly faces to go around. Thanks for your help Frank!!

Found what I needed. Workers are mostly around and friendly. Weird mask policy, where they have signs saying you have to wear them, but workers sometimes arent. Their sign also says to where masks.Youll get what you need, but its cramped.

Asked for help with a brush that had an angle. Went to go stain the fence and open both brushes and .....flat sigh I was all set up and ready to go so no time to run into the store.

Called n asked to check inventory for something their store ad said they were selling but instead of doing job n check, would only give personal opinion n was told opinions were all thats available to anyone calling. Have to come see for yourself for accurate account of what they have. When asked for name line got disconnected.

These staff members made all the difference. Justin, Alex and Alison are great people to work with. I shopped around for a new Weber grill and found that the prices are pretty much the same everywhere.. so why I picked Village Ace was the free assembly, delivery and haul away of my old grill. Most places will do that on grills over $400 but the grill I wanted the 2 burner Weber which is just under $400. When Justin and Alex came to deliver the new grill they were friendly, informative and speedy.. and Alison was super helpful when I called to place my order! Village Ace please take care of these employees they made a huge difference in my choices in where to purchase my grill.

Its been 18 days and my window screens have not done yet. They put me on hold forever when I called them to inquire about my window screens. I had to hang up and call back again but the person who was supposed to help me changed his story and said they actually take 3 weeks instead of 2 weeks to get them done. Will never come back here.

I must admit, I was a little worried when Brian left and Daniel working the Prospect location... but boy was completely wrong. Thank You John (paint department) for everything! He might get mad at me but the fact he is 65 but work like he is 25 says alot about his character. He assist me with paint matching, cleaning solutions, I think he even helped me put a new engine my car (joking). It seems to me he is there 7 days a week with no days off but always have energy to assist customers. I literally watched him handle 6 customers on a Saturday with each customer having the same end results (satisfied).Overall this store is amazing! Village Ace is where I go when I need good advice and great service. Lately the owner totally went the extra mile. We were having challenges getting extra keys for our back door, they just would not work. After a few tries making keys at the store, the owner (for no charge) came to our house took the lock apart, went back to the store and an hour later had new working keys and reinstalled everything. They really care about their customers, which is why Village Ace is always my first stop.

My favorite Hardware store! Everyone is willing to help and they are knowledgeable! No their prices are not the absolute lowest but it is worth not having to look for some employee that has no idea what they are doing. It is a bonus to do business with a local company that supports local causes.

Called Ace last night looking for a pressure gauge for my canner.Cashier assured me they had part I needed. She took my name and said shed leave by checkout for when I came in the morning. Well.. i drive there and nobody knows anything about it . Did they all lie to their customers to get them to come in?? NOT happy

95% of the time I love it and they are very helpful. Unlike Home despot there are lots of knowledgeable employees to help and they nearly always have what I am looking for, unlike the other place. In rare instances, I get a guy who walks me to the aisle and then walks away without checking to see if I found what I needed, causing me to go looking for someone else. Again, this is rare. They almost always are helpful and stock stuff youd never imagine.

I love this place. The service is awesome. You walk in and someone immediately helps you. Take a picture of your plumbing problem (or whatever problem), show it to them, and theyll set you up. Warning: if you go to Village Ace, you will never want to visit a Home Depot again.

Despite the size I find no shortage of hardware and a staff so helpful that if you cant find it theyll make it.

This Ace Hardware is a lesson in how to fit the maximum amount of items in the minimum amount of space. The best way to shop here is to ask one of the staff members - theyre knowledgeable, professional and courteous.I like that it is such a densely packed store - it enables me to shop very quickly and not waste too much time like I would in a big box hardware store.

I am so fortunate to live within walking distance of Ace Village. I cant think of a time when I needed to buy a replacement part or ask a question that the staff was not able to help me out. Everyone that works there is quite knowledgeable and if they dont know the answer, they find it.I have also used Ace Village Remodeling and they are great! The only problem with them is that they are so good that they are always busy working on projects. No project is too small for them.Please support Ace Village as it is a neighborhood store, a family owned business and they are very friendly and professional. Tell you friends and family too, you wont be disappointed.One thing that they do for me is they sharpen my scissors, that is my sewing scissors and pinking shears. Bet you never thought of that. I just love going to my neighborhood Ace Hardware. The Villiage Ace is packed with stuff, and this somehow makes it seem more like an old-time hardware store than the big aisles and panel carts in Home Depot and Lowes. Its still a national chain, but if feels more like part of the community. The staff is really helpful, and actually knowledgable, and youll start to recognize them if you go often enough. Plus I am addicted to the coupons they send me with the loyalty program.

Friendly or at least very approachable team members at this location,, the place is not nearly as large as a home depot or lowes or menards but they seem to have a lot of oddly needed supplies. I think the clientele is more work oriented than the big box places, more professional kinda like the big box stores used to be.

Its like an old-fashioned hardware store. I like going there and supporting local businesses even though its a national chain. Your prices are generally fairly High.

I struggle a bit with this one. They have just about everything I need. Their employees are always quick to help. Prices are a bit higher than big box shops, which is to be expected. I guess the reason for a three star instead of a five star is feel. The feel isnt there. And theres always a menacing looking employee there when I go, which reminds me of when I used to work at a place like that with a manager like that. So while I cant say Ive had a direct experience to follow that claim, its just the feel I get when I go there.

I think it is better if you are male or a contractor when shopping here. I thought I could find my item on my own, but the young lady at the check out counter asked if I needed additional help, I said yes, and she rolled her eyes. She didnt know that I saw her. No worries, though. I will still shop here. I got what I needed, got into my car, rolled my eyes and went home. Glad she didnt see it.
