I can’t speak highly enough about Seth and his team at Big Ring Cycles. I gladly drive from Denver to Golden whenever I need parts, accessories, service or a new bike! Seth and the staff always go above and beyond to get me what I need. Time and again I’ve witnessed the staff’s interaction with new riders walking into the shop and I’m always impressed with the consideration and level of attention they provide to everyone who enters the door.Another highlight is the sales floor and shop itself is absolutely beautiful and spotless like a high-end showroom . You could spend hours looking at the products they sell which have clearly been selected by someone who is passionate about cycling and knows bikes. I think it is obvious if you want the highest quality of service a shop needs to be clean and organized. The condition of Big Ring’s service center reflects the quality of service you can expect from them. Top notch stuff.On a final note, I’m continually amazed by the inventory they have in a time when parts and bikes are so hard to come by. I don’t know how they do it but time and again they’ve had exactly what I need in stock when I’ve thought a part was back ordered and totally out of stock worldwide.If you are trying to decide which shop to trust your hard earned money on please go to Big Ring. E-commerce is on the rise and threatening local bike shops. Cyclists need places like Big Ring to exist for their knowledge support and service. We took both our MTBs in for a tune and I was really impressed with both the quality of the tune and assistance of the staff. Fast turnaround. We live about 45 minutes away but we will make the trip to use these guys as our “local” shop.

This well designed cycling shop wraps around a corner in beautiful Golden Colorado.As I walked in to this beautiful building to ask my simple question I was greeted instantly.Scooped up respectfully by Scott answering my question, then going above and beyond to share his knowledge with me. I was quickly introduced to the owner Seth as we needed to be further educated on the question that I had. Ive been to Big Ring Cycles for service twice recently. My first experience was with Seth, who really went above and beyond to help me with my wifes bike. The service was so good I went back again to get an issue sorted out with one of my tubeless tires from my mountain bike. Austin had me turned around in no time, very impressed. Seth was outstanding; patient, expert knowledge, and explained everything well. I had been out of riding for 15+ years and he got me up to speed on the latest info and gear. I was on a bike in my price range inside of 20 minutes, Seth had me test ride and finished by getting me all the other necessary gear (repair kit, lights, helmet, etc.) He managed to work with me and keep a busy store moving at the same time. Buyer beware. Bait and switch. They advertised a complete BMC Teammachine SLR One bike as in stock online. Just under $6000 with taxes. Purchased the bike and paid online. It took them 3 days to fess up that the bike was not built and all they had was the frame and a few parts and that they didn’t have the rest of the parts to build it as advertised. Also that it would cost more than advertised. How is that going to be the case for the same spec bike. Obviously they cannibalized it for parts and tried to suck us into buying a more expensive option with retail parts

Id been looking on & off for a new road bike the past few years. Seth at Big Ring hooked me up with an amazing BMC Roadmachine. He patiently explained the technology and answered my questions and was no-pressure. He really has a passion for bikes. Seth is so diligent at solving problems. I brought my bike shoes in that had lost a screw. It was out of stock in the US as far as I could tell but Seth found a replacement!! His patience, attention to detail, and kindness in taking the time to fix something small is much appreciated.

I had gone to another shop in town to get help with some repairs, and they told me that theyd have to replace my entire drivetrain, which would cost hundreds + labor, but then I went to Big Ring and talked to Paul, who helped get me set up with what I needed to fix my bike + instructions + a tool I needed for less than $100 total and was super friendly the entire time! My bike has been running smoothly since then!

I used to work for Big Ring Cycles. Seth, the owner, treats his employees terribly. I started working for them in May 2020, and after working there as a mechanic for two weeks I had a big bike crash that left me bedridden for two weeks. After the crash, I told Seth that I would be unable to work the following couple of days. The day after I got out of the hospital, I was talking to the service manager and explained the situation. He said that once I was able to move around, I would have a spot working sales. Once I was able to move around, I tried to set up a meeting with Seth to get me started working, but he never got back to me. After a week of no call back, I went in person and we set up a meeting for the following morning. The next morning I came in and Seth told me that he actually has a meeting in ten minutes, but that I can hangout until after. I end up waiting at the shop for an hour to talk to Seth, and he never even goes into a meeting. After an hour, he tells me to leave and that he doesn’t have time to meet with me. After that, I realized that I never wanted to work for him again and that I would just get my paycheck and leave. I tried calling for another two weeks just trying to get my paycheck. When I decide to go in person to get the paycheck, the first thing he says to me is “No no no, I don’t want to talk to you.” I respond with “Good, cause I have no intention of working here anymore. I’m only here to get paid for the hours I’ve worked.” After waiting 30 minutes, I was finally handed a check and he told me that he would send my w2 to my email. It’s now February and I am trying to get my taxes done. He ghosted me for numerous calls before finally saying that I made under the $600 threshold, I made $500, and that he has no intention of giving me a w2. After multiple phone calls and a polite email to ask that one be made since taxes were still withheld, he told me that he doesn’t care and won’t be sending me one. Seth is a terrible person, and I am shocked that a bike shop can be owned by someone like him. Once I was fully healed, I worked the remainder of the summer and part of the fall at a shop in Littleton and enjoyed my kind coworkers and bosses. In the two weeks I actually worked at Big Ring, multiple people quit to go work other places and in months of working in Littleton, not a single person quit. Big Ring Cycles is a toxic place to work thanks to Seth.

Great shop! Lots of personal attention from a professional staff. Selection of bikes and accessories is fantastic, but the shop doesnt feel cluttered like some of the shops Ive visited. Location very convenient in the heart of downtown Golden, which is always nice if youre looking to grab something to eat or drink before or after. They also have a super cool collection of vintage race bikes that is very worth checking out.

Awesome little place! Staff was safe and super friendly! We talked to one younger gentlemen who educated us on the gravel bikes cervelo has to offer. There are road bikes, some electric bikes, limited mountain bikes, and some gravel bikes. Other items include sunglasses, tools, bags, all the goodies you might need. Stop by her and they can hook you up with what you need.

We felt like there was a good variety of helmets and gloves to choose from and the customer service was awesome!! The gentleman helping us made sure we had a good variety of styles/price ranges for my son to try on and also that we had a helmet that was appropriate safety wise for the level of riding he does (which as a mom I really appreciated!!). He also helped us make sure it fit well and was comfortable. He made the process feel personal, he genuinely cared about helping us and even took the time to show us and tell us about his super cool helmet! Will definitely recommend and shop there again!!

Very friendly staff helped a new comer to the activity set up. They expertly inspected my New (To Me) bike, advised on repairs or replacements, and pointed out the basic safety equipment I should have. I was offered a Military discount which I was very grateful for to offset the step price of entry into biking! Ill definitely be back for my bicycle repair and purchase needs!

I came in on Saturday morning after a big slice in my tubeless had me needing to buy a replacement tire and seeking the extra help of mounting and adding sealant so I could get back out on my training ride without having to double back home. They were able to recommend a good alternative since they didnt have my go-to in stock, mount the tire and got me back out on the road in less than an hour. I live in Golden, and had my first visit to the shop today. I was looking for Skratch and Enduro Bites brands. The gentleman the helped me was very friendly and knowledgeable. I didn’t get the typical “bro” vibe of many LBS. There was great selection and variety of both product lines. They didn’t have one of the items that I was looking for and offered to get it in for me. I have been to many shops in the metro area, and don’t typically feel as comfortable and welcome and that my business is appreciated like I did today. Everyone who was working today was great. I needed to get my bike fixed and was immediately helped at the door. I told them what was wrong with my bike and the gentleman told me to go ahead and bring it back. He took a look at it with no charge to me and then proceeded to do some minor repairs also without charging me. He got me in and out within about 5 minutes. Definitely going to be referring over there.

Was referred here by a friend.Extremely knowledgeable owner & staff. I went on a not too busy day and the owner basically spent 6 hours helping me. YMMV in peak season, which is reasonable. Big Ring recommended the perfect bike right off the bat, adjusted it perfectly, and then did their best to teach me everything about the bike. Im a roadie, trying out a full suspension bike for the first time so they spent quite a bit of time teaching me how to adjust. I was annoyingly noobish and the owner was very patient, never seemed annoyed by dumb questions and never looked at his watch.Im a very nervous shopper, usually not pulling the trigger until I know more than the sales guy. But Big Ring seemed so knowledgeable and honest that I felt pretty good about a pretty major purchase.By comparison, I found nice bikes at some nearby shops that road off either because they didnt take the time to adjust the shocks properly or they didnt know how. Some of the neighboring shops also seemed a little less honest, when they knew I pointed to an inferior bike. Luckily the test rides helped find that out.While I was at Big Ring, locals stopped in constantly and the owner seemed to know them all by name. Was super friendly. They also offered a bike maintenance class while I was there that Id probably sign up for.

I live in Golden and have been on the hunt for a bike for my daughter who is 5 and a half. She’s been riding this dinky little 12” around. She’s so tall! We had taken her training wheels off a few weeks ago and she was ready! I called a few places looking for an 18” but was having no luck. I gave Big Ring Cycles a call and they said they had one 20” left. We hurried over and I was blown away with the customer service. They adjusted the bike to my daughters height/needs. They let her test it out and even got us a band-aid when she toppled over and scraped her leg. They even allowed her to pick out a new bell for her bike. She’s zipping around on her new TREK like hell on wheels now! Thank you so much!

Seth was great from the start - he helped me order my bike while explaining the differences between different designs so that I felt comfortable with my order choice. It was only a few days after the order that my bike came in - I wasnt able to pick it up right away and Seth assured me they could hold it as long as I needed. The day after I picked up my bike, I brought it in for maintenance and he remembered my name, which means a lot to anyone coming into a place of business. Phil from the service shop took the time to check the shifting on my bike after I thought the front derailleur needed adjustment, and then explained the trim function in a clear manner so that I knew when to use it and what I should expect from it. Jeremy was very helpful and patient when I was picking up my bike, and offered to attach the additional products that I purchased. The same thing can be said about Jeremy as Seth - the people here remember who comes into the store, and it adds to the appeal of small businesses like Big Ring Cycles. Its noticeably evident that the team here cares more about what they do and building up the community than just selling products.

Purchased a trainer and they were kind enough to remove the cassette from an old wheel I brought in, clean it and mount it to the trainer free of charge.

I purchased a new Cannondale e-bike from Big Ring two months ago and the pedal/crackarm started vibrating on the second day of use. I brought it back and Big Ring re-torqued the loose crank bolt, but it happened again the following week. I re-torqued it and it came loose again. So I put red lock tight on it and it again came loose. Big Ring has been blowing me off because its free warranty work and they refuse to contact Cannondale for warrenteed replacement parts. This is clearly a manufacturing tolerance issue and should be an easy fix.Fortunately I had a good relationship with the owner and he fixed the bike by replacing the crank arms.

Bought a used mountain bike off Craigslist. Quickly realized the shocks needed to be serviced. I called to see if they had the wiper kit I needed, and they had it in stock. They even gave me pointers on how to get the job done without specialized tools.BOTTOM LINE:These guys are great. Seriously. Ive been to so many bike shops, and theyre all different. The guys at Big Ring really just seem to be excited to get people out riding. My kind of people.

Besides all the stuff and great mechanics, what really impressed me about Big Ring was how much they authentically care about riders and what riders need. They are beyond accommodating taking emergencies as a challenge rather than an inconvenience. I really felt guilty bringing my bike in 10 minutes before close for a seatpost issue. But they made it clear that it was no issue. This is not the first time this has happened either. They are just consistently nice, helpful and talented. I’ll be moving to Colorado full time in June and they will be my bike shop. I guess that’s the best endorsement I can give. Ride On!

I will absolutely be back. They helped me last minute to get two bikes broken down and shipped over to Maui. I was missing a part and they went above and beyond calling around to find the correct part and get it out to Maui in time. They are were very knowledgeable and friendly.
