Love this place, has all high end products that are for healthy foodies! Excellent for locals and downtown residents to make a pit stop before hitting the parks downtown or for a downtown stroll...:) Also, see it is near a cool little thrift store called; ThriftChic that everyone should check out!

Love local spots that spotlight locals? This is a good co-op establishment that carries organic, local, & natural food stuff, personal care, and coffee! I was able to find a national brand item that I enjoy and a locally baked goods from Winston Salem. Members of the Co-op as well as non-members shop and gather here. It was busy, but not overcrowded. The staff that I encountered were friendly. There is a pleasant diverse clientele. I felt welcome.

Such a great market! Awesome for grabbing lunch from the hot bar, vitamin/ herbal supplements, or groceries. The staff is friendly and warm.

Over 25 years of shopping here. Some products come and go. But overall. I ve been so pleased with their response to the needs of their customers, company, and patrons.

Their collaboration with local vendors, providing a safe and accessible market cooperative, has been key to keeping shelves stock, even during these difficult pandemic times. Shout out to the hard work and true culture around your efforts and successes!

Clean and smaller compared to other organic grocery stores like Earth Fare or Whole Foods, but has a great selection of grocery items. Their bulk items like tea, spices and nuts are more affordable than whole foods. They carry combucha for growler filling. So far this is the only grocery store that does this in the Triad area.

The place to go for all your holistic and healthy finds

So happy to find a Co-Op in town, I do find some things a tad bit pricy. Overall the vegan sandwiches and array of natural food items is fantastic. Love their granola and selection of diary free items. The staff is so friendly and always saying hello.

Its a great way to support my community and get what I need, and its in a central downtown location.

High quality produce and in store prep foods. Best customer service Ive ever had in a grocery store. They were out of stuffing mix and an employee offered to have the bakery whip me up something. Looking for a healthy, delicious, and affordable lunch...this is your place. Salad bar still open, but now in prepared containers. Todays hot special was pot roast and mashed potatoes. It looked amazing. And I got some ripe mangoes!! This Wegmans girl says...fuhgeddaboudit!!

Best grocery store in Greensboro! I love the selection that Deep Roots offer. Including fresh organic fruits/vegetables, everyday items and prepared foods. The staff is great and is always ready to help. Will continue to be a customer for a long time.

Convenient location and parking, I live a few blocks away and it is not difficult to get here by car or on foot. Fresh products, a large assortment.

Great atmosphere, great Staff, amazing produce. Everytime I visit this store, the staff is always welcoming. Granted the prices are higher then normal. The price offsets the guarantee of freshness and giving back to the community! I do recommend this place to everyone.

After shopping their couple times, we decided to become Coop-owners. We find the freshest produce, great selection of vegan foods, organic bulk seeds, nuts and beans. Their meat alternative selection is amazing! And their deli has the best cooked meals to eat there or to take home. We love Deep Roots!

It was informative about the difference between organic and conventional foods. The salespersons was very nice and respectful.

I Love going there its always very clean, has a good atmosphere, very friendly employees and the quality of food is top notch. Will definitely become a co-op member soon 🙂.

We were there for a meeting in their community room. The deli sandwiches and salads are all very good. Their salad and soup bar are not lavish but serve only quality veggies and soup. The selection of grocery items includes a high percentage of organic and bulk produce.

One time I accidentally left behind my spinach at the register and was already in my car.. Doug was my cashier.. he was so kind enough to come all the way out there to find me to make sure I got my spinach before leaving. THIS is the customer service that you will never forget.. thank you again Doug! Keep being great!

Wonderful local co-OP grocery and health food store. Friendly, helpful staff. Great selection of medicinal herbs, teas, and bulk dry goods. They also have a vegan refrigerated section. There is a hot bar that serves lunch and dinner, cooked in-house, as well as a yummy selection of baked goods, and prepared to-go meals. You can find lots of gluten-free, and vegan goodies here. They also have fresh produce, refrigerated, and frozen sections, as well as a nice selection of quality chocolate bars. They have a little of everything.

They have the BEST food bar. Really!! They don’t have ton of selections but the few options they have are always amazing and they always have good vegan options. The staff is pretty cool too!

I love shopping here and have been doing so for the past 10 years. Fair prices. Great products. Great and friendly staff.

A wonderful local store in downtown Greensboro with produce, boxed items, fresh foods, lots and lots of health supplements and vitamins, plus herbs, dry goods, and about anything else food-related you might want. They even have a terrific salad and hot food bar with an in-store and outdoor eating area.

In my opinion I think its the best local Greensboro organic grocery store in the whole Triad. They always have unique and fresh items for sale. I love all the spices and herbs that you can find here. We really like this place. It’s like a less commercial version of that other we’ll known market. They have great ready mood food. A salad bar and lots of healthy options for most dietary needs. It is a little pricey but it’s to be expected with high quality produce.

One of my favorite places to shop for all natural, organic products and food! I liked the cold/hot bar. The store is always neat and orderly. The staff is helpful. Space is not too overwhelming, yet stocked, adequately.

Definitely a great health food grocery store. I usually go in and grab food from the hot & cold bar. They usually have chicken, salmon or a vegetarian options that are tasty. They also have really delicious cookies baked fresh. They also have fresh packaged food options like sushi, wraps, salads you can run in and grab for lunch. Several healthy options!

This is by far my favorite market. The people are very knowledgeable and more than happy to help with anything I need including advice and information. I have been shopping here for several years and I’m also a member. I moved more than an hour away but I still make it to Deep Roots whenever I can. I am unable to adequately describe how important this market is to me in a short text. I do know we need many more like it in our state and country for the well being of us beings 🌎 Please recycle ♻️ and participate in rejuvenating our planet and home 🏠

I always bought bulk spices back home at my local store and its great to find that available here in Greensboro. I get Frontier Spices, which are all organic and of great quality. Deep Roots Market is much bigger then I expected and has a vast selection. The bulk selection is amazing. Just go and check it out. I love knowing I can buy whatever quantity I need whether its half an ounce or half a pound. Theres also a hot food bar and salad bar. A bakery and pet food items as well. And you can get cheep filtered/ purified water too. Just bring a gallon container or buy one there. Like I said just go and check it out, theres a lot this store has to offer.

Great place for finding organic and vegetarian food/ingredients. There are a variety of things you can get considering how small the place is. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Being similar to Whole Foods, the prices are VERY steep, with some items being more expensive than I have seen at other places.

Not a huge selection of groceries, but what they do have is top quality. The hot ready-made food and sandwiches are great. I love the focus on sustainability, with reusable crockery, reusable bags, bulk goods, etc. Worth signing up for the co-op owner membership if youre a local, there are some good discounts available. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the products.

I Iove this place. Herbs, natural products, anything you need is here. The staff are always kind and extremely helpful. Plus there is always something going on where you can be a positive influence on tour community. I highly recommend Deep Roots!

I love love love this place and have only had one incident sour my attitude towards them. There was a sandwich in the prepared foods section marked vegan that was actually on a not vegan croissant. Other than that, this grocery store puts to shame any other as far as friendliness and vibe goes. Instead of feeling irritated like I do after a trip to Whole Foods, I always feel warm and fuzzy after a trip to Deep Roots. Theyve got great specialty products, I even discovered new vegan goods there, a nice little hot bar, and beautiful produce. A must shop if youre downtown and a good place for lunch!

The best co op Ive ever been to! Its so unassuming because it seems like a small location, but they have never disappointed with their stock. They are our go to for vegan and vegetarian staples. They have lots of cheese substitutes, they carry Beyond products, and they are well stocked with premade food like sandwiches and desserts. Every time I go there I end up spending way more than I planned and Im never mad about it!! Plus all of their staff are friendly but not overbearing or intrusive, which I have had the unpleasant experience of with other Co ops in the past. Deep Roots is perfect in my opinion!!

I wish I could leave 6 out of 5 stars. Their customer service is the best. Thank-you serving the Greensboro community in such a dedicated manner for so many years. If youre from out of town looking for an organic, healthy, and LOCAL market, GO HERE! If you live in Greensboro, being a member is well worth it.

Ive been to many coops traveling the country and this is without a doubt one of the best. Prices are great for offering organic, and often fair trade food and produce. They have a nice bulk selection with tons of grains, rice, sugar, coffee, tea, and spices. For people complaining about the prices, this is the price of real, ethical food without harmful pesticides!They have a great selection of vegan products and fantastic prices. For example, Miyokos butter is $5.69 and Ive never seen it for under $7 anywhere but Trader Joes. Theyve got lots of vegan cheeses, milks, ice cream, and more. The hot bar doesnt have a great vegan selection but those things are pricey anyway, so thats not something I usually go for. They do have vegan cookies in the hot bakery section and other vegan goodies from Camino Bakery in Winston Salem.I appreciate that the cashiers have no problem doing tare weights when we bring our own containers. This is where we shop for most of our food and its such a pleasant experience. they also have community events and film screenings in a separate community room. Including a vegan lunch club! Check the calendar on the wall for dates.

Its a great market, well organized with options for many different diets. But the best part was the bulk spices and tea selections. I found things I have a hard time finding in other markets. Prices are on par with other organic co op markets.

A pleasant surprise, this market.After a series of wrong turns and other confusions, I found myself in downtown Greensboro, and, eventually, at the Deep Roots co-op. There, I was greeted by a wonderful organic market, complete with a deli and quality produce and local specialties, and even a reasonably extensive supplement section. Feeling quite at home, I quickly found what I wanted, and was checked out by warm, friendly staff. I left wanting for nothing, and if I ever again turn up in Greensboro, I know just where to go for good, healthy eats :)My thanks goes out to all associated with this business. Very nice little neighborhood grocery store. The spice collection is amazing. You will get a lot of locally grown produce with information about farms from where it came from. The prices are comparable to Harris Teeter. Fridays you get student/senior discounts of 5 to 10 %.

I love the convenience of having a market a block away, which is nice when you need an ingredient when you are in the middle of cooking. Some items are strangely expensive (one time a bag of grapes rang up for almost $20). The quality is generally really good.

This place started out in a tiny one room house-like building. It has since grown to be a cornerstone of natural food/health options in Greensboro. Knowledgable and caring staff are just icing on the already-perfect cake.

Best and largest wellness section of any co-op Ive ever been to. Hot bar is always a good buy. I recommend filling up your water jugs here too! Plus they have kombucha on tap now!!

Is this a co op? I dont know! Is it co opy enought? Yes! This is your grass roots feeling natural food and needs store. Loacted near the center of the city this place is convenient. You can get all sorts of things here that you would expect to find at an Earth Fare or Whole Foods. I love the feel to this place. I recall getting one of their fresh juices. It was good.

They have the BEST vegan chocolate chip cookies in the bakery. Lots of ready to eat vegan options that aren’t available at a lot of other places. Whenever I’m in Greensboro I make a stop here.
