This was our first time trying Dolce&Amaro and may be the last. At night, the outside aesthetic is nice and for a moment made me remember the time my wife and I spent in Italy. The inside is clean and organized like most bakeries. Plenty of options to choose from. My son love the macarons but my wife and I didnt like the other items. Maybe our expectations were too high as weve had some of the best Italian desserts in Italy that weve ever eaten.
Loved going here for some great dessert. Ordered a $40.00 6 cake a week in advice that I had saw previously in bakery. Go to pick it up and this is what it looked like. So disappointed😟. Would have asked for my money back, but had not alternative for a dessert last minute for our special occasion. I love the desserts, but never will I purchuse a cake again.
This is a cute little place to go for dessert. I went for my birthday and everyone picked out a dessert. They have larger and smaller portions of many desserts. Some options are even gluten free. I recommend the lobster tail, zeppole, tiramisu cup, and macaroons. The cheesecake was a little weird according to my dad.
Ok, I never seen a diploma on the wall in a pastry shop so this made me stop to wonder for a moment, then I ordered the mini lobstertail hazelnut with Americana coffee, when I sat to eat it I felt like I was back in a patisserie on the Champs Elyse, in Paris. Only thing missing would be the smell of the baguettes and butter croissants. I have always missed this and have been on a search since moving here to Greensboro for a decent pastry shop, well today I found it. I am french European and the Italian pastries here would cut it, the lobstertail hazelnut is DEVINE, the crunch is heavenly and cream is out if this world. Menu selection was perfect, the atmosphere was pleasant, clean store and service was nice as well. Omg, I wrote a book, sorry but its that good. 😅
It is definitely one of the best bakeries in Greensboro for me. I tend to veer away from sweet treats like these, but the desserts and pastries here are not overly sweet. Makes it much easier to eat. They have a wide variety of desserts and drinks to choose from which makes it worth coming. Even though the prices are slightly high, you definitely are getting what you pay for.
The pastry is delicious. The coffee is incredible. The service is awful. Maybe we arent the audience they are trying to attract. Also, please update your hours on your google listing to accurately reflect your Sunday hours.
This is by far the best bakery I’ve been to in the US. The pastries have the right amount of sugar, not like the others that will hurt your teeth when you eat them. They were extremely tasty and great texture! They have regular sized items and small ones too, which is such a great concept! I just wish they had one branch in the RTP area!! Absolutely amazing!!
Fantastic bakery for reasonable prices (for craft bakery items). Excellent food and the staff was helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed this place.
The next time you find yourself in the mood for coffee and pastry, skip the Starbucks, and go to Dolce & Amaro to enjoy the real thing.Hands down the best pastry and espresso Ive ever had. Ill be back a million times.
You simply havent lived until you have stood inside this bakery early in the morning to take in the rich smell of bread and pastries coming out of the oven. Without a doubt, my favorite smell which took me back to my childhood years when I would get a pastry after school or when my parents would pick up fresh bread for the day. Well done!
A delicious way to celebrate a friends birthday. Our first visit, but definitely not our last. A lovely, tantalizing assortment of pastries, cakes, and desserts. Highly recommend.
Love this little Bakery. I am Italian and own my own Bakery outside the Greensboro area and its so nice to visit when Im in the area to enjoy and support another Italian bakery! Everything Ive purchased was excellent.
One of the best if not the best sweet pastries in Greensboro. The best pastries are the ones with hazelnut and/or hazelnut creme and doughnut-alike ones filled with Nutella or Bavarian cream, apsolutely amazing taste; coffee is quality so much so that it tastes as if you went to the best coffee shop
Super delicious many gluten free options for people with gluten free issues.. Totally recommended😁
Best cafe in town if you like italian cakes and food.
This is my favorite dessert place ever! I have great time every time I go. Staffs are always so nice, friendly, and helpful. I recently ordered from here for my church event and everything was done perfectly. Especially, one of the staffs Thomas helped me a lot and checked if everything was good even after! This place will be my all time favorite bakery!
So good! I have tried many desserts in Greensboro and this place is the best so far. Not that too sweet! Also try with great iced Americano
The desserts were delicious! The lady working was so nice! She was very helpful with questions we had! We would definitely recommend and we will be returning!!
Best bakery I have tried in years! You have to come and taste the lobster tails, tiramisu, macaroons, EVERYTHING!!!If you like pastries this is pastry heaven💖💖💖
Agree with the other reviews. One of the best dessert places Ive been to in a while.I got the biscotti, dolce&amaro, macarons, and tart. All really great. Not too sweet, yet rich and flavorful.
Best Pasties in Greensboro. I really think much better that Maxi B . Also you got small portion option . Only down is hide place and quite small, but flavor and presentation is Fantastic.
I might just have to become a regular here. We tried their pistachio hazelnut specialty cake and millefoglie with a decaf americano. They were both so freaking good. Im impressed by their expertise. I have tried just about everything and I have always been happy with the taste of their desserts. Ive recommended them to all of my friends and they all enjoy the desserts at Dolce and Amaro. This is by far the best bakery in town.Weve only had one negative experience since the first time we visited shortly after opening day. Our special order cake was quite wrong. We ordered a round, chocolate colored cake with one rose and two macaroons on top for our wedding. I asked for no hearts drawn on the macaroons. The cake was the same as an orange cake that they had a photo of in an example book and on their Instagram, the difference was the color. We received a heart shaped, bright red cake with macaroons along the side and hearts drawn on some of them. The lady was kind enough to help us make it a little bit closer to what we wanted, but it was still far off. It tasted absolutely amazing and I would definitely order a cake from here again, but I recommend double checking the notes of the person taking the order just in case. A picture of the modified cake is below (hopefully it will upload). Again, it tasted amazing. It wasnt what we wanted visually, but it wasnt a day ruiner.
What a hidden gem!! Amazing pastries and desserts! The coffee is fantastic and the staff was super friendly. Couldnt ask for more!
Dolce&Amaro is a beautiful little bakery with many choices.Very inviting with a sheek interior. 4 stars only due to the fact that I ordered tiramisu which is my most favorite dessert. It was bland in flavor, not sweet, and it lacked that espresso punch of flavor. Also my cappuccino was not hot, but warm. My husband and I shared a panna cotta and that was amazing! The staff was very friendly. Ill definitely keep them on my go to list.
I ordered a black forest cake on my birthday last week but got one with coffee flavored. It didnt taste like a black forest cake in any way. Not even a single person on my birthday liked the cake..Just waste of 50 bucks. It was my first visit and probably will be my last. Very disappointed..
Not a regular to this place but come in pretty often and service is always great. Macaroons are so amazing as well as other pastries.Thomas is the person to ask for, he was very helpful and knowledgeable. Will be back soon !
Gorgeous pastries and coffee. A real gem.
No coffee when we went, which is why we went. I tried the creme brulee it was amazing. I got several different types of cookies and as far as taste they were not worth the price. I have yet to try the cheesecake that I purchased but not sure if I want to judging by the taste of the cookies and connoli.
Had a great time here. From the area and just discovered it. My clan and I tried 3 different sweets and they were all devine. Coffee was on point and it made me want to come back for more.
The Macron are to die for very delicious, and great atmosphere. And amazing customer service.
Always delicious goodies. Love love love all of them.
Incredibly friendly staff, great prices, and the best macaroons Ive ever had. Highly recommend.
Very nice staff I didnt care for the cheesecake, but thought the macaroons were great!
Very good Italian pastries. I am from Italy and these are as good as it gets, real and authentic! Im there at least once a week.
A beautiful and authentic bakery with the best sweets in town!
Amazing! So much is gluten free too and doesnt taste like it is!
Bought a cake for my boyfriend’s birthday! We loved it! It was incredibly yummy! Not too sweet, just perfect! The cashier was very friendly and sweet as well.
An amazing bakery with friendly servers and a fun, European atmosphere! The pastries and coffee are world class, best I’ve ever had this side of the Atlantic. Definitely worth the trip!
Excellent quality and top notch desserts and coffee.
The tiramisu its simple delicious.
Visiting the area and drove up on this little gem. Best customer service EVER! We were greeted immediately. The gentleman took his time to explain the offerings of the store. We got 4 items all of which were delish. The lobster tail...this thing is the business. It should be a best seller! The tart with ricotta cheese and the coconut tart...Grreeat!! Millefoglie...Muy Bueno. Definitely a sweet spot to visit for great food and great prices!
Their pistachio coffee is incredible; I seek it out as a personal treat often!
Delicious and super friendly guy that works at night :)
I purchased the pistachio and hazelnut mousse cake and it was delicious. Great flavor not overly sweet. Their pastry case looks fresh and amazing.
Probably the best pastries and cakes in Greensboro Charming place to come in and all their desserts are delicious will fully recommend to anyone.
Just delicious. Somewhat expensive, most bakeries are, but I was happy.
Delightful find...specializing in Italian pastries and sweet treats!! the chantilly cream puff/choux bun was delicious!
The ambiance and cozyness of the place is perfect to unwind with company or by yourself while having a pastry and a nice warm coffee drink.
The pistachio coffee is my favorite. The lobster tail is to die for! This would be a dessert Lobster tail, of course. The reason I gave 4 stars even though their pastries are absolutely gorgeous and delicious is because of the customer service. There is sometimes a tall, dark haired gentlemen attending and hes excellent.Sadly, any other time Ive gone while someone else is on duty the customer service is slightly lacking. They are not rude, but just very Im here, its a job sort of attitude. I get it, I get it they are young blah blah, but the experience is important when it comes to food especially delicate, beautiful pastries.
Just stop what you are doing and head over here to pick up some real Italian treats. By far the best baker in town.
I got fresh special made macaroons for my birthday. They are absolutely delicious! I now have a favorite bakery for my favorite cookie. Thank you so much!
Worst cannolis I’ve had in Greensboro. Total disappointment.
I had a birthday cake and a dozen sfogliatelle delivered to my husband everything got rave reviews!! They made the Marilyn Monroe masculine - he said hands down best cake ever! Also, pastries were indescribably amazing! Ladies at the bakery were very helpful in guiding me over the phone. I look forward to visiting!!
I was surprised by cake from my wife from this place that had 4.9 stars which is the first time we really went all out on each others birthday she look to the Facebook group Greensboro takeout and from the looks of it everybody recommended this place $45 dollars later she brought a magnificent looking chocolate macaroon cake. after she got home which is only 15 minutes away from the bakery. the frosted chocolate sides of the cake melted into the bottom of the box this was shocking because she was told let the cake sit out an hour before serving it. Not bothered by this even though the cake was $45. The macarons on top where delicious the icing on top was delicious however the cake had no favor it tasted like icing on top of wet bread and somehow the cake retained water like it was put in the freezer which form of ice crystals into the cake then melted forming in soggy bread like consistency.
If you like authentic pastries then this should be your regular spot. I’ve not had better! Espresso is great and the service is excellent as well.
Really the best dessert and pastry place in the area. Everything is fresh and they have a lot of options that they rotate ( great business model) there for even if you go 3 times a day will still discover something that will stimulate you salivary gland. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable ( super important) the place is clean and very inviting...and did I mention everything is delicious 😋. Well done, I would buy a membership if available
Charming place with excellent costumer service and some of the best desserts I have had on a long time.
This is such a cute place with the most delicious desserts. Whenever we visit greensboro we have to stop for macaroons.
A beautiful place with fresh and delicious Italian desserts! Great coffee too!
Very European and super delicious. The cappuccino was top-notch and the service super friendly. A lot of bakeries will over sweeten their product to extend shelf life. Everything here was fresh and delicious. I couldnt recommend it enough.Havent tried the Wednesday chefs choice lunch offering yet but I look forward to.
The ambiance is great. The desserts are delicious. The cakes and macarons are a must. The flavors are on point. The Establishment is clean and decorated very well. Friendly staff. They have pizza, hot and cold drinks, and breads.
Perhaps the best dessert spot in Greensboro!
Great little Italian bakery. Had to get a variety as you just cant pick 1 thank you
This has become my favorite dessert place in Greensboro, NC! 💖 AUTHENTIC ITALIAN DESSERTS! The desserts arent over the top sweet, but just the right amount of sweetness. They have a freshly baked filled croissants & coffee beverage (cappuccino, machiatto, etc) special daily for $4.95-drinks alone at coffee shops can cost that much. They also offer gluten free desserts (almond flour). The staff & pastry chef are friendly and the atmosphere is quaint. Located within walking distance from Core Life Eatery. Go check out this bakery!!🍰😋
The best Italian bakery in North Carolina! Delicious coffee, pastries, and sweets! Couldnt love it more!
So many beautiful, delicious looking goodies--it was hard to choose. I settled on the Millefoglie. Light as air, crispy, just perfect. Now that I know where it is, Ill certainly go back. Already looking forward to ordering my birthday cake in August.
This place is the best. They have absolutely dreamy Macaroons. The green tea macaroon is devine and my favorite. It had that perfect little crunch that turns into a wonderful slightly chewy goodness. The Tiramisu Cheesecake is creamy and delectable. The Chantilly Cream filled Lobster Claw was to die for. The cream was light and airy. The lobster-claw itself absolutely melted in you mouth. It was light and flakey and sightly browned to perfection. The young lady that helped us was so sweet and friendly. She was very helpful and very efficient to be the only staff working that evening. I will be returning as often as possible when I’m town. A must try for wonderful Italian treats.
Delightful dessertery! The staff is always so friendly and helpful, and the food is gorgeous to look at and delicious to eat. Very high-quality stuff that looks like it belongs in the front window of a French patisserie (or the Milanese equivalent). Go visit!
Amazing selection.... everything that we have tried here has been delicious
Absolutely my favorite dessert spot in Greensboro. The level of artistry in the pastries is without equal in the area, and everything Ive tried has tasted wonderful. Theyre expanding into the savory arena, too, making quality focaccia and a few other choice morsels.
My cappuccino is always perfect, as are all of the desserts I’ve tried! The staff is always super friendly and provide great service! I always look forward to visiting.
This bakeries has lovely pastries and wonderful cakes. The staff are always helpful.
Excellent place for pastries, cakes and coffee. The desserts are delicious, light on sugar/butter and decorated with perfection. I have ordered 2 cakes so far and they do a great job with customized cakes too. Highly recommended!
Cozy place with delicious desserts, amazing coffee, and friendly service. The best! I really recommend it.
Beautiful little bakery. Three small tables if you want to eat in. Lots of pretty looking deserts that I’ve never seen before. I wanted to try them all but I got the Nutella Chocolate Torte. It was delicious.
So excited to have found this amazing bakery! Everything is scratch made in house. My mom rated the Millefoglie as her favorite dessert ever. This coming from a seasoned foodie! The cream puff, eclair, and tiramisu tart were outstanding. I rate the ganache as the best of the best. This is hands down the best pastry / dessert stop within a 3 hour drive. Cant wait to return! And kudos to a friendly staff!
This place was amazing. Such friendly staff and very quick service. Will definitely be going back and the prices were actually affordable.
Beautiful and delicious desserts
Delicious, so excited for our assorted tray of goodies
Google bakery in Greensboro and this little quaint place showed up. Thought wed give it a try and we will definitely be back. It is awesome.
My favorite place. Cakes straight out of heaven! Most delicious desserts in town and super friendly service.
Delicious bakery and great experience!!!! Great coffee too!
You thought you tried Italian food before? Wait until you go to Dolce&Amaro then! This is the one and only place in Greensboro where you can find original Italian pastries. Wednesdays and Saturdays they even make focaccia with rosemary!! What are you waiting for? Go get your brioche, you just earned one! :-)
