Store looked clean, well stocked, and busy. The staff was very friendly.
First time there. Nice atmosphere.
Meh, the food that I tried was mixed. The made to order breakfast sandwich was good, the pizza and stuff from the steam table was terrible. The prices are astronomical and the selection is pretty limited
I applied to work here in August 2021, the manager called me for an interview, I was very qualified, The interview went very well ( which I thought it did ) and I was told he would call me.. two weeks later I get an email ( Not even a phone call) telling me they are not going forward with me for employment.. but kind of funny now they have an ad up again for Cashier..
What can I say. I love the gourmet scene!Tried their cupcakes a couple weeks ago.....ADDICTED!Sorry, no pics!! Ate everything.
My favorite place for lunch. Has in door/out door seating option.
The offerings were well showcased. I tried a new drink which I really enjoyed
Took the drive hoping to find good sourdough bread, unfortunately it was a terrible disappointment and in the garage bin. This store is high priced, same items at shop rite or stop in shop and 20% less. Average food at high quality prices
The wine shop is the best! Nationwide shipping is good, but the service is what sets these guys apart from everyone else. Michael is knowledgeable, responsive, and transparent. Can’t ask for better service! You got a customer for life!
Try the apple strudel, sourdough bread and wonderful sushi. The rotisserie chicken is delicious.
I took off my glasses in a cool way then put them back on in a cool way. I just got some cool points off of it.
Amazing ingredients, meats and prepared foods. Their Pizza and Cupcakes are Stars.
Great fish market, butcher counter and sushi counter along with excellent produce make this the place to go for top quality. For some items the price is a bit high, but you are usually receiving excellent service and quality to match the prices.
Clean and spacious with a nice selection of Italian oriented food items.
Getting more corporate and more like a chain store like Food Emporium or Stop & Shop. Some boneheaded corporate type decided to take out the espresso/Cappucino/latte machine so now you cant get a great Italian coffee when you shop. I used to be able to get great British and French butters, no more....and they now wont let me get the size pork shoulder I want. I was told today that I could only take half or the full piece and not the 3 1/2 lbs I always get. Youre becoming less friendly and less a destination for the items I buy. Just another corporatization and ruination of a nice smaller purveyor.
Very disappointed in the meat department and the price verses the offerings. 45.00 for a steak in a restaurant is one thing but raw? I guess that’s what you get for shopping in Greenwich.
The Manhattan clam chowder was very disappointing, lots of clam meat but no flavor. The clams must have been cooked separately then added to a sauce that tasted like ketchup. Not up to their usual high quality.
Clean & upscale market with fresh produce.
Its a quality store. Prices are high. I guess you get what you pay for
I paid $45 for one and a half pounds of scallops and they were worth every penny!!Crème Brûlée was delightful. But, rice pudding was so dry, like eating chalk.Banana bread also very dry.The green beans with garlic and oil I purchased for $10 from the grab and go were literally uncooked.
Very good fresh food resource, very good alternative for my food needs, etc. Could provide larger selection of organics and gourmet options to be at excellent. Perhaps they are limited by the square footage of the store. Love the place during the holidays.
This is a great place to get food and do shopping i recommend the sushi and pizza. real good place
I have been shopping here since it opened. Good lunch and dinner take out. Nice to go salads. Excellent meat. Produce is limited and very expensive but, if youre in a pinch you may not mind. Delish bakery items...better than whole foods and prices for a high quality product are reasonable. The florist that provides the flowers is amazing. Very unique bouquets and plants. He even put one together for me one morning as he was delivering. All is all... Very Good quality products. The price tag does reflect this. I do my stock up at wegmans or whole foods.
High end but worth it. Great prepared foods, meat is top notch and the pizza is the best around.
Excellent selection of gourmet food to cook, or ready to eat. Beautiful interior in which to browse through for hard to find ingredients. No wonder personal chefs love to shop here.
Most items are pricy, but coffee is great and the soups and cakes are great
Amazing Store. Expensive yet worth it. All italian products including the cheese and olive oil are amazing. Amazing takeout, they have a seating area in the store. Tiramisu is amazing. Overall best Italian produce in the area maybe even the county.
This is the best of the Citarella stores. Aisles are wide, displays are beautiful and food choices are bountiful. Prices remain above average, but one can count on finding freshest and finest here.
Try the seafood depts! The prepared food is all very tempting but very pricey. The few prepared things I got were not as good as I remembered and you can only buy big pre made sizes due to Covid. Good option overall, glad to have it!
Oh wow. This place is a chart topper. The sushi beats most Asian restaurants. The deserts are flawlessly delightful. The meats are wonderfully reliable. Delicious pork chops. Freshly squeezed lemonade and cranberry juice. Plus an enticing variety of cheeses. The seafood is heavenly. And the fruits and veggies top it off. But dont forgot the deli meats and potato salad!
Excellent quality food, a bit pricey. You pay for quality.
For the most part its a great place to go but for a top of the line grocery store with high priced items there should be no reason why the eggplant parm has mold on it Other than that I was happy with my visit
Fresh food, friendly service
Great choices but getting way too expensive
Expensive - and they seem to like it that way - but during Covid its never crowded. Oh, the food quality? Its fine but not worth the drive if a WF is nearby.
This place is amazing! So much wonderful choice and so fresh
Even though the salad bar and the hot bar and the soups and not fully operational still a great selection of stuff. A little pricey but you get what you pay for
Go there for Caviar, the best.
Great place! Lots of good options but it is not cheap!
Love it. Excellent customer service.
Great food. Super service!
Best fish variety and quality in NY state
Great high-end grocery with one of the best selections of fresh fish!
They have an awesome hot and cold food bar. As well as pizza and sushi bar. Great for a quick lunch. You can pick up and go or eat in the store in their small dinning area. Love it !!
They have many options for breakfast and lunch. Food ready to eat is great for a quick bite or to take with you. They also have a massive variety of olives, which are one of my favorite foods. I will be a regular here the days Im in Greenwich.
Best gourmet prepared take out. Fresh fish & vegetables. Expect to pay for it!!
Upscale supermarket in Greenwich close to the New York State line. Nice display of store made cakes and take home meal item s . No bargens here... higher than average prices. I prefer a supermarket with a greater range of items and lower prices.
Great produce and seafood depts! The prepared food is all very tempting but very pricey. The few prepared things I got were not as good as I remembered and you can only buy big pre made sizes due to Covid. Good option overall, glad to have it!
Great market for most foods. The meat is great quality and very fresh. The take-out variety is large. There is casual seating if you want to bring your food that you purchased and sit down to eat it there. The salad bar options are large. The workers are helpful and friendly.
Food it really good. I think Ive prob gotten most things from the salad bar, hot food, and soups. They are always consistent with taste and flavor. They switch up the hot food daily. But if you go week after week. You tend to get bored of eating the same food. But overall the food is pretty good. But to add, some cashiers are kinda grumpy at times.
Great place for fresh vegetables, seafood and meats! Oh and dont forget the fresh bread
Best market in Greenwich. The food bar is great and they offer the best quality ingredients. I would recommend shopping here.
Good place to find some Specialty foods and extremely expensive prices. (From a 3 to a 1 - save yourself and drive down a little further to Whole Foods - this is no longer a good place)Edit: 12/30/19 - over the last few months, I have gone in a few more times and every time it has seemed like the customer service and they product have gone down hill while the prices remain astronomical. This last event, the fish station had fish water leaking all over the floor and it smelled as such. The woman at the deli counter was completely unaware of those around waiting in line and when I got her attention, she was unhelpful as hell. - when someone is looking specifically for slicing cheese, you dont send them to the cheese counter, when its sitting in the deli display.
Nice place, but check your purchases, some cashiers dont put chocolate in my bag. I got home, check my bags, my car but it was not there.
Excellent food choices. Staff are helpful in all departments except for cashiers. I dont find them to be particularly pleasant or helpful. Other staff have better customer service attitudes.
A psychedelic experience of food. Youll buy stuff you never knew you needed. Outstanding experience
The people are friendly and want to make sure you are satisfied. The food is fresh, and there is hand made mozzarella made fresh on the premise. The vegetable personal pan pizza is to die for! Dont want to take out? Theres a dining area...with clean bathrooms! My husband and I eat lunch there almost every weekend!
Many choices of delicious looking foods. Had the lobster corn bisque. It was fantastic and delicious. Wish I had a second cup. The service was friendly and helpful. The food is quite pricey though.
This used to be a fun place to grab some lunch/dinner, sit down in their dining area, watch CNN in one TV and FOX on the other, but a few months ago they decided to put food television on both TVs, muted and they also cranked up the lighting and ruined the ambiance. So we’ve stopped coming here and many others we know have as well because it’s lost all its character and charm.
The most delicious coconut cookie bars! Just hit or miss bc I guess there so lived. Definitely consider making this a daily item in this shop!
Great addition to Greenwich and welcome option from the corporate chain up the road.Nice prepared food deli in back, dry aged beef, fresh seafood counter, fresh fruits & vegetables. Maybe not as many options as some, once again, they are learning what paying customers are in search of.They are evolving as the staff learn the particular tastes and expectations of the local Greenwich shoppers. Tough pleasing everyone all the time, so hope they please most of us most of the time!
Best protein and produce in the Greenwich area in my opinion. The prepared foods are also great. If youre looking for some basic staples from big commercial brands (like tostitos queso:) this probably isnt the place.
Citarella is a wonderful grocery store! The seafood and meat is the freshest I’ve found in the area and they always have a variety of options. They have specialty items which are hard to find at normal stores. The people who work their are helpful and friendly as well. Their sushi is really good! I get the salmon nigiri often and it’s as good as many restaurant and better than most! The only slightly less positive thing, is that some normal items (cream cheese, hot dogs, etc.) are over priced. Other than that you will be very happy to shop here!
Another over-priced grocery store “boutique” that has nothing really going for it. Very poor selection of anything. Be sure to check the packaged bread as it is often out of date. You won’t be able to fill a weeks shopping list here.Even though Whole Foods, just up the road at East Putnam has the nickname, “Whole Paycheck”, the selection is so much better, and the prices are comparable to the likes of ACME and S&S.
Who puts, anchovies in their lobster bisque??It should be a seafood stock or strained broth of crustaceans..Why lemon and HOT sauce/ Red pepper flakes? Its NASTY just Nasty!! You have ruined a french classic.Red pepper flake or hot sauce in New England Clam chowder? And where is the cheddar in the broccoli cheddar soup. So disappointed with your soups.
Great food, great service. However, as youd expect from a gourmet market, prices can be higher than normal, but still (generally) fair. It would definitely be a better choice for more people if the prices did drop significantly for certain items.Like any other store, it also depends on certain brands as well.Still, I highly recommend it. So many choices from produce to sweets to deli products to even freshly made, oven-cooked pizza. It still fascinates me how much one little store can contain in such a small space and yet, still seem large.
Great salad bar and amazing pizza. The deli and cheese selection is top-notch, too. The variety of products is a bit limited, but they tend to pick high quality products rather than cheap, name brand products. So, because of that, prices tend to be higher here. But, still, an amazing place to visit, especially if you want to put together a quick meal or want a quick bite.
High quality awesome fish and meat sections. Fresh mozzarella and other Foods. However hot food and salad bar never change
They had some great grand opening promos. I like their turkey chili and so does my son. They have some good prepared foods such as pasta salads. They have some nice cheeses and crackers. My son will not let me forget how divine their chicken parm rolls are though. He also loved their pizza. And the staff that run that area are as friendly as can be.
I love meeting friends for lunch at Citirellas. They have the best hot food bar in the area. Much better hot food and more upscale even than Whole Foods. But not necessarily more expensive.
Fantastic quality meat, produce, cheeses and fruit. Obviously a bit pricey.
Love this place for a lot of things, prices are high, but the quality is the best you can get!! They have an in house butcher, baker, juice bar and grill for breakfast and lunch! They also have a liquor store and extensive deli! BUT I GO FOR THE SALAD BAR! They have selections you dont see elsewhere like kale, flax seed, 4 types of quinoa, all kinds of veggies, beans fruits, and the list goes on!!! Also have self serve hot and iced drinks!! One stop gourmet shopping!
Awesome alternative to Starbucks! has a lot of tables. You can buy a coffee or have something to eat and sit in the food court area. Great for people who might have a sales meeting, bible study, or studying for some type of test of some sort.
The store has decent fish which is the only reason to go there. One would only buy produce there to avoid a trip to somewhere with more affordable and better quality produce. The prepared food is greasy and salty. The soup is extremely salty. We regularly call to pre-order Branzino (butterflied, head off). When you call, be prepared to wait anywhere from 15 to 30 min on hold. Then, at least 75% of the time, they mess up the order (dont take off the heads or butterfly it), send it to the wrong place, etc. On top of everything they now charge an extra $5 shopping fee for this incredibly unreliable service. For my most recent inconvenience I was given a $5 coupon (I spent over $100 on fish). Really? I have paid for fish we have had to throw out (we dont have the ability to butterfly Branzino) and even once for fish that was bad (scallops), because I dont have the energy to complain all the time. I know I need to find another fish store, Citerellas locations are just very convenient. I can say that the people who package up the fish for you are very nice at the Greenwich location. But for the amount I have spent at this store, I feel very angry with my treatment.
Pricey. But good quality! The soups are exceptional. And my family enjoys the store-made cream cheeses!
Dark enormous space. Difficult times, Ill try it again.
Visiting relatives and needed some items for a dinner I was cooking. Convenient location and the selection was great for the the size of the store, but what I wanted to really touch on was the customer service. It was great and the products were second to none. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
The Marvelous experience when it comes to shopping. This is no grocery store this is no Deli this is everything on a five-star first class level. With that, comes the price tag. It is an expensive store but the quality maritz the expense. The food that they prepare for lunches daily, is five star all the way. Everything is clean and fresh the vegetables are always nice looking the meats are undescribable. You have to go see this one for yourselves people
Great selection. Sweet staff
Great place to grab a quick lunch.
Excellent salad bar. I got a fairly large lunch for just under $5.00 after tax. That included more mesclun salad I could eat, and a bunch of chicken with balsamic vinaigrette. This is simply unheard of in Greenwich. This is my new place. Ill be back several times a week as long Im in the area.
Wow so clean and nice. The prepared foods are delicious! Also breakfast is a hit outta the park!
I like Citarella, bakery has fresh choices. Great cakes for birthday and parties. What holds me back from 5 stars, they dont have a selection of organic fruit and veggies:(
Imagine a more expensive less modern version of whole foods.Proshelpful and personable staff. The pizza guy always says hi to me.Prepared foods are reasonable priced.ConsThe food is incredibly expensiveThe eating area can be noisy at times.
Not for the budget conscious, Citarella Gourmet is a high quality grocer that sell only the best in meats, fish, vegetables, baked and prepared foods. You can be assured that if you want the best and are willing to pay for it, you will find it there.
Fantastic selection and quality of food market goods, as well as ready to eat/pre-prepared food to eat-in or take/out. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pricey, YES. But you get what you pay for.
. Horrible! I got the buffalo chicken wrap for lunch . One it was half the size of a regular size wrap for 8.99. When I bit into my sandwich it was hard & tasted old. I took it back & one of the store manager asked what was wrong. I told them my problem & his response was well it is grilled chicken. One that wasnt professional & 2 grilled chicken shouldnt be hard! I wish I remembered his name!
Great service, very polite staff.
Excellent variety of hot & cold food. A little pricey but worth ever bite! Yummy
They just make ur day, they bend the rules for customers needs great customer service n people in that neck of the woods r polite n friendly even the owner, great place
I personally shop for sushi mostly and its always fresh and a great variety they also have rotisserie chicken and half duck baked prime rib sandwiches and other delectable items. The pastries and cakes are bar none. The staff is one of the main reasons the store runs as efficiently as it does. While the prices maybe slightly higher than your average store equality makes up for that. I highly recommend citarella if you are looking for catering trays and hot foods to go. Its a daily staple 3 days a week while I am in Port Chester. Thank you citarella
Great food
Way to pricey id rather go to whole foods very similar in foods citerella might have alittle more variety with meats and fish but still for the price ah ah..
Very big market. I like that this location has mini cafes inside. Great selection of food to choose from
Excellent addition to the area. Top calibre market for gourmet items. Superb meats and cheese Blows away the quality of the competitors. Highly fancied selections.
Wow! One if the best markets I have been to, but SOOOO EXPENSIVE!
Lucio on the prepared foods department is very knowledgeable and very courteous. It was my first time there. We will be back.
